GPS assistance

hi guys,
am new to this forum and i just got the HTC touch HD for about 2wks great fone installed a lot of stuff but am trying to develop a program that i can track my phone on a web browser. can anyone help me on how to communicate with my phone and get the gps cordinates.
not sure about this, sorry if i get it wrong but maybe you can have a look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482249
what am actually look for is like sending may be an sms to my phone and getting the gps coordinates really need help pls.
maybe this one?

Sprite are currently doing a special HTC package which includes backup plus a secuirty application which can track your phone using the GPS
SPRITE HTC Special Offer
Just to mention that as far as I know any solution includes comunicating with the SIM card. If you want to track your phone in case it gets stolen, well... forget it. I don't believe any thief will be stupid enough to leave the SIM card in the phone and/or the phone turned on. If you want it for another scenario - MAYBE it will work.
you can buy theese lil tracker things they tiny lil sticker things which u can put on cars/phones etc. They can be tracked and reported to the police.
just want to find a way to communicated with the phone it for a project.

[Q] Wifi problems...

Hi all!
Upon buying a second-hand HTC One X I knew there might be a wifi-issue. I didn't care much, as I needed the phone, but I'd like to have this solved anyway...
Upon reading up on the insane amount of forum posts made upon this issue (of which, most are outdated) I can't find the actual solution.
Just to make it clear:
With my old phone (LG O3D) I had a 2/3 bar in my bedroom. Currently this is 0 - it won't even find the network.
Downstairs in the kitchen I had a 2 bar - it now has one, scarcely.
I can't figure out wheter or not it's a hardware fault, but pressing my phone (gently) doens't seem to improve anything whatsoever...
What can/should I do?
Greetings,
and thanks in advance,
Laurens
Check your rom base.. if it's 3.18 then it maybe a software problem.. if it's 3.14 or less then chances are hardware issues.. if you don't want to go to a service center then there are some do it yourself repair videos.. search.. it's somewhere here in this forum..

[Q] Disconnected because service is unavailable

Hoping someone can provide some direction. First and foremost I am not a HTC savvy so although there are a few threads here about the same issue none of them relate to me as I have not rooted the phone nor flashed to custom ROMs or anything to that nature. I am simple user of the phone... Now.. to the topic.. so I bought this phone for my brother in law last year as a birthday present, and at the time I had a working phone so I didnt put my mind too much to it.. but I did liked the phone very much. Two months ago, I decided to purchase one of these, so I bougtht an HTC ONE X Phone S720e Android 32GB 8MP 3G WiFi GPS Bluetooth Unlocked White. I don´t recall what versión of Android it carried at the time but looking at the specs it should had come with Android 4.0.3. After loading it up, transfering my files on to it and loading some basic apps, whatsapp, email, Skype... it off coursed asked for a software update two times which I went ahead and did. The last one it installed added Android 4.2.2 and HTC Sense 5. It was working fine, layout changed considerably... now after doing another of the updates to applications and software, specifically the transfer files update it suddenly quit recognizing data services completely. I though it might be something with the micro sim, so I tried testing a couple of others, it didnt make a difference so I decided to back up my contacts and information I had on the phone and did a Factory reset. It wipped it clean but issue remains the sames, it is unable to even recognize the sim card is missing and when I go into settings I see the message Disconnected because service is unavailable.
Reading online, saw a few folks stating that this situation was related to software updates.. so I was wondering if I could get some help on how to get this fixed. Not sure what to do, downgrade to 4.0.3 or how could I get it resolved so appreciate some direction here.
If you go to settings - about - phone identity, does it still shows the imei ? Seen many people here having their imei gone from their phone and becomes an iPod since we can't write it back. Tho you are on stock, so better send it for repair.

It shows up as unknown actually... is this a software related issue then? Im concerned about the other phone going through the same situation... should no updates be installed to it then? That makes it fairly useless and might prefer to send it back and try to get a refund instead.
same problem for me, still wait for fix

[Q] Radio and OpenDSP have "INVALID-VER-INFO" beside them. Is this normal? Need help

[Q] Radio and OpenDSP have "INVALID-VER-INFO" beside them. Is this normal? Need help
I just recently purchased the m8. I did lots of research learning everything I could before doing any modding. So today I decided to unlock my boot-loader so it was my first time getting into recovery. But when I get into recovery I see both radio and OpenDSP have "INVALID-VER-INFO" beside them. Its never been modified and I got it from t mobile and was the first to open the device. Not a second hand phone. Is this normal? I've been googling for hours and cant find any information. Its been sort of difficult getting any help in the Tmobile htc M8 help threads. If anyone can shed any information I would greatly appreciate it. I haven't noticed any thing wrong with my phone out of the box and everything about the functionality of the phone has been stellar.
if everything works as normal, why would you worry about this?
call you carriers tech support and ask them

I did that already. They advised me to get it exchanged since I'm within 14 days. Got a new one and it was fine at the store no "invalid" next to both. Got home and double checked it. New device same message again. I'm keeping this one as its running fine. But I want to know why it's saying that.

HTC One M8 International and Android 6/Sense 7 isues

Greetings,
I am having some issues after upgrading to A6/S7 and was wondering if anyone else is have similar things happening:
Firstly, and most annoying, is my mobile data keeps crapping out (Google search offline, web browser offline) despite the phone saying it is online. I have to shut off mobile data and then turn it back on for Google search and browser function to work - sometimes have to do this twice or three times.
Battery usage has doubled... or halved, I guess, depending on which way you look at it.
Using A5 and S6 I was getting 1.5 to 2 days' use out of a full charge, now I am getting .75 days out of a full battery.
I have done the usual of killing hogish BG apps, etc, but it still seems to drain rather quickly.
The BT calling in my vehicle has become weird. I get no dial tone and no ring tones - when I place a call it is silent until either someone picks up and says hello, or I get a VM recording.
I have reset the network settings and it did not help.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Mike
No one?
Another new glitch: when I am on a call, and someone else calls in it disconnects both calls.
Your title - HTC One M8 International and Android 6/Sense 7 is a bit confusing .. that's why you don't see response.
Post your fastboot getvar all minus serial & imei no. then we'll see what device that you really have.

Never mind, I am going to use this as an excuse to buy another Sony Z5. Thanks anyway.
HTC might want to make this info more accessible as installing that much crap on a work computer is not advisable.
