I don't understand what you're asking. If the vids are too big just lower the quality. The higher the quality the larger the files, the lower the quality the smaller the files. Just play around with the settings it til you find a happy balance between size & quality.
Use 1080 or even 720p

There is no video quality options in settings i can just set the
Video quality to mms ,qvga,hd,full hd and 4k
And videos are 30fps but when i compare it with

I know that but 1080 in my phone gets more space than 1080 in S7
Any suggestions?
If the S7 is using less space for the same resolution that it's compressing the video more. Most would view this as a good thing (the HTC 10 higher quality that is).
How strapped for cash are you? Maybe invest in a larger MicroSD card if space is a major concern?

I'd rather watch some music videos in 720/1080p
Hmmm.. Are we sure that youtube offers true 1080p? I've heard there's still compression that affects and diminishes quality even on so-called 1080p....

1080 is, well.. 1080! If it were 1079 then it's not 'true', but if it's 1080, it is! Resolution and quality are two seperate things. I could re-encode a 480 video to 1080 and that would be still be 'true' 1080.
All video is compressed and loses quality. Even a Blu Ray at 40Mb/s is compressed and lossy. Bitrate determines quality, and there is no set standard for what HD should be. So if you want a good demo for your screen find something with a high bitrate to play. Of course, too high and the phone won't cope with it, but it'd be good to see what it can handle.

Hi I currently have a Sony Z2 and HTC One M8, thinking of upgrading the Z2 to something better like the G3 or new S5 advance but I only have two questions that G3 reviews did not answer and they are:
1. How is the 1080P playback on the QHD display of G3. "The reason is that most steaming sites do 1080p and the ones than do 1440p are either of sub par quality or of a processed type. A call to one of the streaming sites confirms the same they have two video sources FHD and UHD there are no QHD sources"
2. How long does the 4K recording last? "My Z2 records 4K only up till 5Min which is crap and a complete joke had I known this limitation would have chosen something else, the 1080p recording is worse to HTC One M8 performance that is a slap on its face"
1. that review uttered a total nonsense any screen can playback whatever kind of res a video have as long as the hardware and software are up for the job, it's more depending on the source file itself.

Its not that if G3 can playback 1080p its more of that how does 1080p look on a QHD screen. For example I have a Dell U2713HM with a 2560x1440 WQHD resolution but when I play a 1080p movie the quality looks less than on a Dell S2740L because the source and screen both are 1080p.
nonsense there is too many 720p contents on the web that still looks fine even on a QHD monitor...
Hi all.
I've been able to record in 1080p resolution at 120 fps through app called Ultracorder. As a bonus is encodes in H.265 codec which promises half of the byte rate when compared to the H.264 with similar quality.
Not sure if possible in free app (you can try) but I've been using paid version which after latest update allows to change fps and surprisingly I can set 240 fps (although it looks like 120 fps with doubling of the frames to reach 240).
Video looks super smooth and crisp when played at 25% speed.
No luck with higher resolutions, only 30 fps available :crying:
Looks like the 120fps on FHD is legit as there's notable difference when slowing down the vids on 60fps and 120fps. But the quality is still kind of bad lol. BTW Thanks.
Shame this phone is 2 generations ahead of my Nexus 6p but my Nexus 6p can do 240fps slow motion but the V30 appears incapable

I believe the stock camera app is recording 240fps at 720p. But in a very very bad quality and cannot zoom. (Quality is worse than the sony recording 960fps)

Thanks for your post, I downloaded Ultracorder as well and made a video comparision between slow motion modes which I uploaded on Youtube and I´m not allowed to post because I have <10posts.
The internal slow motion camera always records on 720p 240fps with no options of changing the framerate, but you can choose the normal and wide angle lens. The wide angle lens footage looks worse than normal lens though.
In the Ultracorder App you can also choose 1080p with 120fps with the normal lens. It works fine and enhances the quality a little bit.
You can also choose 1080p 240fps but if you record with that setting, you get a file with 160fps and dropped frames. I thought maybe the memory write speed was too low, so I also tried recording it on my Sandisk Extreme MicroSD with the same result of 160fps.
In Ultracorder you can max. choose 30fps with the wide angle lens.

Are you sure this is true because my Nexus 6p actually gives you an option to choose 240 for slo more and it looks a lot smoother than the V30 slo mo. I'm pretty sure V30 only shoots in 120fps

Yes, the footage is 240fps you can choose the playback rates
1/2
1/4
1/8
directly in the LG V30´s media player while
1/8* 240fps= 30fps playback rate
Also I inspected the file in windows and it was 240fps. My V30 runs on Android 8.0 security patch 1.9.18 I just received it yesterday

I realized why. Shooting in regular camera produces 240fps while shooting in wide angle mode only does 120. I'd been shooting slo mo in wide angle only.
And for some reason the new GCam (and the mods based on GCam v6.1) kinda ends up recording 1080p240 instead of 720p240 when you set it to 1/8th slow motions speed.... Even though i ONLY have a 720p240 entry in the media profiles, otherwise only 1080p120...
Playing that video then (which is generally already pretty damn dark) is also kinda laggy, so either camera or SoC arent capable of that
Could our lack of 1080p240 possibly be due to a hardware issue such as the write speed of the storage medium in use, or the method of connecting the camera to the SOC? I was thinking largely of these being essentially a computer at it's core, and if the storage devices aren't on a fast enough bus, it could lead to dropped frames. My other thought is if the camera is connected to a slower bus, then it would result in frames being dropped due to not being able to get the data transferred off the camera fast enough. Essentially a lack of bandwidth issue...

Once you try 90 or 120 you can't go back to 60. You'll notice the 120 over 60 more then the 4k over fullHD in my opinion.
im on 120hz but i cant really see the big difference cvs 60 - the phone is very snappy as it is - esp due to 240 touch rate
will see when we get [email protected] - if ever
240Hz @ 4K please.
Those who can's see a difference, maybe it's the apps you are using! Manny apps just are still stuck on 60Hz even if you S20 is set to a higher refresh rate.
120hz for sure.
This phone does not have 4k resolution but 2k.
4k = 2160× 4096
S20+ = 1440 x 3200 = 2k

I agree. But then I decided to keep at 120 hz for 3 days for me to get used to it then I'll go back 60 hz and see if I notice the difference. You can't tell if you keep switching.
And I agree.. 240 touch response has more impact on usability than 120 hz display

I rock mine on 120Hz 720P. I can tell the difference between 120Hz and 60Hz especially when swiping in the keyboard and flinging around the OS.
Unless I'm really close, I find it harder to tell the difference between 720P and 1080P.

720p to 1080p is negligible on battery vs 1080 to 2k but 1080 is wayyy better then 720p as far as viewing and reading on screen. U must have really good eyes:cyclops:

Question: Why can't the pixel 6 pro shoot in 5-6k? It can shoot 12.53MP and 4k is only 8.3 MP.
Thanks,
Probably due to the pixel-binning, which results in a quarter (IIRC) of the maximum resolution of the camera (~48-50 MegaPixel).
Well my question is why cant we hit 5k? 6K should be 16.6MP.. Pixel 6Pro is 12.53 so that should be a bit over 5K (5k is around 12.45MP)
Ok we talking about video capturing right?

Yea theoretically is capable even more sensor is not 12mpx its really 50mpx and after processing came 12mpx photos even from main camera sensor but......its about resolution/fps/ bitrate ...and all depends of cooling system and capabilities of processing of chip in phone and how wee know cooling is not what is good on pixel 6 pro
I'd love to know if any dev's could chime in.. afaik timelapse is definitely possible oat 5k.
this is likely because nearly no display that displays 5K, it doesn't make much sense to support a format that is barely used

That's not truth pixel count and quality was always much higher then actual displays like before decade was 16 and higher pxl Fotos and no digital monitors or tvs to show....some people have same argumenst s like you ...same with 1080p when come some people still telling wee dont needed lots of people looking on videos on tvs and most of them have only Hd tv so we dont needed right now ...what? I making memories and those memories i would like to have in best possible (reasonable ) quality what i can make with good format for future .........for example imy first tv vas plasma only 720p (in real was 768p ) but doesn't matter important is i was looking on 1080p movies and making 1080p videos l... And they look much more vetter because if you're looking on content like 1080p on 720p tvs you actually getting better quality and better looking image because its working like antialiasing or super resolution on AMD cards or whatever other metod they named and this metod ....its used in videogames for years for better image quality and its much more visible on video(moving picture ) then on just stable frame but its still visible and its make sence to only some quality like its doasant make sense looking on 8k on 1080p tv but its make sense watching on 4k picture on 1440p monitor or watching 1440p video on 1080p tv .....so 5k video on even 4k tv or monitor still make sense.

Exactly. I have been recording 4k video since Note 5 I believe.
Look up Motion Cam on GitHub. It allows you to shoot RAW files (stored in the DNG format) at the cameras full resolution.
You'll probably be limited in the frame rate and length you can record and you'll need something like Davinci Resolve, but I've messed with it and gotten good results.
