Interest in trading OEM bands? - Huawei Watch

Hello,
Are there any Huawei owners that have OEM bands lying around that they don't like or doesn't suit their taste? I have a new black leather band, that has never been used. Does anyone have an OEM mesh milanese strap they don't want and would be willing to trade? PM me please.

Newegg has OEM bands
Problem solved. I didn't know Huawei finally had bands on their site. I didn't feel comfortable with any of the bands on Amazon. Some looked thinner than the OEM and the mesh was of a looser weave. First. I ordered an eBay replica suggested by @TerrorTodd in an accessories forum. I'll use this as back up as I found an OEM milanese band on Newegg for almost half of Huawei's site price of $130.
Just a tip for those seeking replacement or additional milanese clasp bands for the best price possible.

[Q] Plastic connector coming with the official separate metal bands for moto 360?

Hi!
I am wondering if the plastic "protector" comes with the official separate metal bands for $80?
The plastic "protector" is included with the new metal moto 360 models, but I'm not sure if it's only them or if they are being sold with the separate metal bands $80 at att.com aswell..
Why do I want to know? Well... I visited the watchmaker, he doesn't want to put on a custom metal band because "it will crack without some kind of protection". I believe him because thats probably why motorola added the plastic protector on their official 22" metal moto 360 editions. Also I wanted a more narrow band since I am thin - can only do that if I get a hold of the plastic protector for the 18 inch thinner metal bands that are not released yet
?
anyone who bought it and can answer?
We will once we receive them... Dec 5 was the availability date at the time of ordering, and that was the first hour they were posted on Moto's site.

Wait can the protector be brought separate or its only for the newer models?
Yes the plastic protectors are included with the official metal bands. I just picked up the band replacement kit during lunch today at my local best buy.
Cool... Not sold separately?
Not from what I have seen.. They do make the fit of the new metal band to be very snug against the watch itself.
I bought one of the Kriesler bands. They do NOT come with the plastic piece. Shame. They do look great however. If you have very large hands like mine, I only had to take out one link to let it get over my hand.
I can confirm that the OEM metal bands come with the plastic spacers, same as the metal band Moto 360's
Just had an online chat with Motorola support. I'll give an update about buying the spacer separately, when they get back to me.

Just a heads up - if you're looking to use them with non-Moto bands, I'm not sure it's going to work.
The Moto bands slide into two slots on the plastic connectors for a snug fit. Other bands are solid all the way across - if you were to take off their connector, the links would have to be the same size as the Moto bands.

I know the Pebble Steel metal band fits on the moto 360( it has the right fitting, its not full), but can someone tell me the spacer for the original metal band fits the pebble steel one? Or has someone found a way to get an other spacer?

The Pebble Steel Band does not fit in the plastic spacer provided with the Official Motorola Metal band.
I have a replacement watch arriving today, which will require me to move the official metal band from one watch to the other and I will take a photo to show you all what I am talking about.
Just ordered the official metal band from Motorola site today. Does anyone know if the included plastic spacers will prevent the back of the watch from cracking? I have read of so many people who have cracked the back of there 360 even with the stock leather bands. Can someone who has already gotten the metal bands from Motorola confirm that the spacers relieve the pressure against the back of the watch.

They do.
There has been one photo showing the plastic spacer breaking from the stress, but I've had mine for a week and the spacer is fine. It's been too small a sample size to say the back won't crack but just a few days in I'm feeling much better about it.
The watch is much heavier now, though.

Thanks for the info, so the band is definitely a higher quality then say the pebble steel bands?

Definitely. Both in looks (it's thicker and shinier with a color that is the same as the 360) and material weight. It's heavier than the Pebble Band.
I know a number of people will say that they can get the same thing for less, but if you've purchased watch bands before, you'll find this one to be of a solid quality.
Whether or not it's worth $80 will be up to each individual, but for me it's worth it if it stops the back from cracking because of the spacer..

Here are some photos to show you what I'm talking about. That spacer seems to be tailor made for the Moto band in how it slots in:
Had the leather band, and there were no cracks when i swapped to the Motorola metal band. 1 week later and there's a tiny crack starting in the corner. I'm going to just live with it and see how much it grows.

Watch band for working out?

Hi I just got my 360 and like it so far but am using it walking and running so wouldn't mind replacing the leather band with a rubber/silicone that is better when you are sweating. Anyone have any suggestions?
TYLT silicone? Good review from what I seen
Id really like to not spend $30 on a non leather metal band

Any 22mm silicone band should work. I'm using the band that came with my LG G Watch.

Where can I get a decent silver metal strap in the UK?

Hi all. I recently purchased a silver 360 from eBay. As described the grey leather band is a little worn so I was hoping to replace it with a metal one. Where would be the best place to get one from in the UK? I've looked at Amazon.co.uk, but many of the metal bands have poor or few reviews, and the one I saw with good reviews says they could take 3 weeks to deliver!
Thanks.

Official Huawei Bands are Now Live

Not sure if this has been posted here yet. But you can now order the bands from Huawei site.

Why would anyone pay those ridiculous prices?
Unfortunately the Huawei site doesn't take orders for outside the USA. I ordered the black leather strap from the following Seller via Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018UP0952?ref_=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1

Because these prices are not crazy for some other people. And I for one, will not buy a cheap nock off from eBay or Amazon.
Its there for people who wants it. No one is being forced to buy it. But yes, if I need one, I will be buying from them.

I was seriously asking... lol. Looking at the Amazon listing though it does not appear to.
I can see differences right off the bat though. The band on Amazon must be slightly slimmer than the Huawei official. If you look where the band attaches to the watch, the Amazon version is the same width as the band itself. The Huawei official band is slightly wider than the actual part that attaches to the watch. (lugs pin?) I am not very good at explaining stuff so I am not even going to try to explain other differences I see. lol
EDIT: Disregard, I was looking at this one.

I have to agree and disagree. I do feel that Huawei has the bands overpriced. However, you also get what you pay for. The ebay / amazon knock offs may "look" the same but are unlikely to be manufactured with the same quality of materials and to the same quality standard. I am trying to grasp why the steel mesh band is $129, when the price difference from the Huawei Watch with a leather band to the mesh band is only $50....
Myself? I would definitely purchase the knock offs! I may be OCD, but I will not worry nearly as much when my $25 stainless steel mesh strap gets scratched or banged up then I would if my $129 one did.

The metal bands may be VERY similar in "appearance" so I agree with you there. However, leather is a whole different story. If you know anything about leather at all, you would definitely know leather is not leather. The Huawei leather band is actually very nice. The knock offs on Amazon are going to be low quality, crap leather with poor stitching, I guarantee it.

You guys are funny.
"I don't want to buy cheap Chinese stuff"
"I want the one with Huawei logo".
Huawei sounds very Chinese. IS Chinese. So now because of logo everyone will know you bought Chinese.

I only asked if it had the logo because he stated that it was "identical". It was a serious question to him, being he actually purchased one. I personally would prefer it not have the logo on the clasp for a cleaner look.
I didn't say anything about not wanting to buy cheap Chinese stuff. I said that I would buy the $25 one over the original so if it did get scratched / banged up it wouldn't be a big deal.
Just a quick update having today received my Huawei black leather strap from the Amazon.co.uk Seller I mentioned at post 3 above http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...051_TE_3p_dp_1
I bought this leather strap for work, so that I can swap and wear my original metal bracelet during the weekends. I can confirm that, this strap from Amazon is the genuine Huawei leather strap. The boxing and presentation is exactly the same as with the watch and the spare Huawei charger, and the strap has all the proper Huawei markings. The strap itself is good quality, supple and soft with perfect stitching. This strap puts that which I have on my Montblanc watch (and costing twice as much) to shame. Whilst comparatively expensive at 77 Euros, it is one of the best leather straps I have had. I'll order the brown strap just as soon as they have them in. Loving this watch.
Pavoni.
they are probably charging these crazy prices because otherwise noone would buy the upgraded huawei watch models for $100 extra if they could just buy the band separately and save money.
this obviously has nothing to do with the quality of the band. no leather band on earth is actually worth 100 bux or whatever they are charging.
and if you are willing to pay that for the huawei logo you should seriously reconsider your priorities. there is nothing special about these bands.

Apple Watch style magnetic leather loop band

So I got this recently looking for Apple Watch like silicone bands for the HW. It's pretty much the leather loop band that was first advertised for the Apple Watch. It's probably more pleather than leather but it holds securely magnetically and fits pretty well once you break it in a couple of days. I got it for ~$12 (includes shipping) off of AliExpress and there are 4 colors.

There also seems to be an Amazon source now but for ~$27.

You're welcome though I'm still hoping to find those Apple Watch style silicone bands. I'm not a fan of the current ones on the market simply due to the metal clasps looking uncomfortable if I was to use them as gym wear.
