I was on 5.1 , not sure which rom. I had no root, so i rooted yesterday using kingoroot. After root my internal storage (sd card) didnt show up (i still can see it in recovery. I tried mounting but nothing shows up on pc)
Also i cant boot into the normal system. Is there any chance to fix? I cant even flash from recovery because there is no rom on sd.
Please help, sorry for my english

You could try flashing stock FTF, but You would loose all Your apps and their data. Music, photos will remain.

Try this custom rec
format your sd card, or insert a a new one preferable Class 4
after that
attached is the file.
Usb debug on
install it
usb debug off
restart it
open the software and boot into recovery.
hope it works.
Thanks

Hi,
I can't mount the "sdcard" when I'm in recovery, I just get an error like this: "Unable to write to ums lunfile"
I run the latest CWM on a Galaxy Nexus GSM.
What should I do to get this working?
I am having the same issue, if I try mounting usb storage or sd card I get "Unable to write to ums lunfile"
I'm using v5.0.2.7 and I want to know if it's the version of cwm or whether it's my phone.
Help please
The phone does not support USB mass storage., therefore it will not work.

so how can you flash roms.. ?
What? You use MTP to put roms on the phone.
hey people, i've lost some data (precisely a file .dat that was containing all my messages) and would like to recover it, but if i can't mount USB Mass Storage how can i recover this file? Is there an app that recovers from MTP and PTP devices? thanks very very much, it's really an emergency!
Is there any way to access the internal storage whilst in CWM?

NO. I found this out a while back. Because as stated above the Nexus uses MTP and not USB to connect it is not possible to see your internal memory in CWM.

So, if a solution arises, it would be from the side of CWM, right?

I don't think so. I think it would be Google would have to allow USB support. Then CWM would work.

Couldn't CWM "just" enable MTP support in their recovery?

If you mean the content of /sdcard:
Shure, boot into cwm recovery, mount data and you can find all your sd card/user data via adb under /data/media/.

It does. I'm just looking at it. Get adb in recovery working and see for yourself.
I think they're saying it doesn't work in the traditional sense. ADB does work though, as shown above

You are right, mounting as UMS doesn't work. But Janzomaster later asked "Is there any way to access the internal storage whilst in CWM?", which you can (via adb).
Well, just hitting a button and you can access the files through the explorer would have been perfect. But adb is a good alternative to have
This litte app comes in very handy: https://qtadb.wordpress.com/
GUI for adb, including file explorer -> perfect for CWM recovery
Hi after upgrading to JB i am getting some issue with my phone. If i format my htc one x with gparted and then re-install the rom . Will it be ok to do that ?
I would be cautious doing that...
Better to factory reset and erase the sdcard from within your recovery (TWRP or CWM).

OK Thanks. But when erasing the sdcard (That is the built in sdcard) it will erase everything so will i still be able to connect as a drive so that i can copy the rom into it.

As long as the recovery is either the latest CWM or TWRP, you can mount the USB Storage and put ROM.zip on it. Not with a stock recovery.
And be sure to have CWM 5.8.4.0. The usb mounting doesn't work with earlier versions.
Sent from my HTC One X
Yep. It's fine to erase everything, as long as you have latest CWM or TWRP on there, you can still mount your phone and put a rom on there to flash
Good luck!

Formatting data will only wipe the system data needed to overwrite your current ROM. It is advised to do a full wipe before flashing so no bugs or glitches happen. The worst case scenario if you don't wipe your system data is that your tablet won't be able to boot up. I advise wiping when installing any ROM. Your internal storage should be safe from harm

Let me get a clearer understanding of your problem. What do you need the USB drivers for? If you want to move files, use ADB sideload. (Google it please).

Flash Philz recovery 5.15.9 and you will be able to mount sd card. flash boot.img on viper and install again viper rom.
And something else for CM11 you need different recovery latest Philz or in CM11 thread latest CWM6.04.07 or something like that
