Hi all,
yesterday I did the update to 7.0 via TWRP. Everything is working well, but I am missing Xposed.
So, how can I downgrade to 6.0.1? Just flashing 6.0.1 via TWRP?
Ask support. They told us when u have beta they've a special roll back build to flash? I hear something like this.
Just flash twrp, Format data, wipe everything flash the stock MM rom zip and reboot if using custom rom make sure to flash correct firmware for that version
It depends the steps you took, I think there are some threads about this but from my knowledge if you are still on ext4, unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, a simple clean flash should work...
But do check
Here is something that could help https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-downgrade-to-mm-flashing-ob8-t3511161/page3

1. Take a nandroid backup
2. Boot to TWRP
3. Wipe-> advanced wipe-> system change partition to TWRP
4. Wipe- all
5. flash 3.0.2 TWRP
6. Reboot to TWRP and then flash 6.0.1
Hit thanks if I helped

I have tried to flash 3.0.2-1 twrp but i cannot. Is there any solution for downgrade? Even with toolkit v2.6 is impossible.

Use the latest twrp beta version or modded twrp by eng.stk, backup data and clean flash 3.2.8 and make sure you change data partition to ext4.

So I have 2 questions:
1- how to root MIUI? Magisk work fine? Just flash it through TWRP? I used Magisk in a Nexus 6P with stock rom, don't know if it's the same with MIUI.
2- I see that there's some AOSP roms, flashing those roms is just copy the rom and gapps to the internal memory and flash Through TWRP normally?
Thanks.
1. Yes
2. Yep. Of course you will have to wipe in advance. Firmware flashing is also recommended. All info is in the XDA thread's of the roms..
So flash the lastest firmware then the rom right?

Yep, update to the latest miui first, then you're good to go.
The best thing before installing a custom rom is to format your data completely and then reboot into recovery mode
So, using the lastest MIUI, formated data on TWRP and flashing the lastest Lineage with Open Gapps, this happend: ROM flashed, Splash screen then the phone rebooted and go right to TWRP. Tried RR Rom from Andy personal build but the gapps are giving me force closed on Google Service.
Any ideas?
So I'm on miui 9 (9.6.4) rooted with redwolf recovery(note 5 pro).
Can someone please explain to me how do i upgrade to miui 10 since i cannot update through normal OTA .
Also is it worth upgrading to miui 10?
Thanks in advance!
miui10.0.4 is out, its similar to miui9.6.x with few interface differences! still on 8.1 Oreo
since you are rooted.
1. download the recovery version of the ROM from http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.0.4.0....roGlobal_V10.0.4.0.OEIMIFH_9aa5f799fe_8.1.zip
2. put it on sdcard or usb otg drive
3. simply flash it
4. if you wana do clean flash, you have to re format your data partition
5. once miui 10.0.0.4 is flashed, reboot it, let the first boot done! , once rebooted, come back to recovery again and try to flash magisk or any other kernel...
I magisked my device before rebooting on miui10.x and it went on bootloops! later i had to change my /data parition to-from xfat/ext4 and wipe etc then finally i was able come out from bootloops!
and ofcourse! ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP !! (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

the best way is.. to use fastboot rom.. latest 10.0.4 use miflash this will make rom all stock recovery ect.. so if you want to use twrp again and root you must install twrp again since fastboot restores stock recovery.. just make sure in miflash at bottom dont select clean and lock.. or itll lock bootloader..select clean all.

Hello,
i have version 11.0.2.0 Global on the device with twrp, magisk and edXposed.
Now I have seen that there is already a global version 11.0.6.0.
In my case, how can I update to a new version without losing the data and settings?
And one more question in general. Version 11.0.6.0 is not shown to me via OTA. Here it says, latest stable version 11.0.2.0. Is it not rolled out via OTA?
And if there was a newer version available via OTA, could I install the update despite TWRP?

I (without root) flashed the OTA on 11.0.2.0 global PGGMIXM to 11.0.6.0, but, to flash with root... Maybe (I dont know if it will brick) but you can try flash a recovery version of 11.0.6.0

I had exactly the same setup as you - here's what I did: 1 - Downloaded full rom from official Mi website (MIUI Global 11.0.6.0(PGGMIXM) 2 - Moved rom to root storage 3 - Flashed rom with TWRP, and voila! Updated to latest stable rom. Just remember to flash TWRP recovery again through Fastboot, because you will have stock recovery after update. I am using LTWRP- 3.3.1 -0924 and rooted and installed Magisk, without issues

One thing you forgot to mention is what region is your phone (not your Rom). If Chinese you may have to be extra cautious and steps above might not work for you.
Good luck!

Interesting. I'm still on rooted miui 10 4.5.0 PGGEUXM rooted magisk and twrp recovery-红米Note8Pro-3.3.1-9.0.img
I didn't update yet as bricking started to happen and I can't miss my phone as a daily driver.
Normally I would flash the full ROM, flash magisk, wipe cache and reboot.
So flashing full ROM doesn't break root?
Can't we flash recovery by twrp after flashing ROM instead by flashing by fastboot?
Isnt secure flash twrp after the ROM.

Flashing a full rom will break root, and install stock recovery...
It is too risky to flash another recovery with twrp (possible brick)
so where to put official update on sd card?
download recovery rom?

I just brought rmn8p with miui 11.0.6.0 ,so it is ok to use LRTWRP-3.3.1 -0924. I came across a new version -1104, I'll try it after unlock the bootloader. After that flash preloader then trwp.
Use LR.TWRP, it got an option to make the TWRP persist on every OTA.
Also LR.TWRP = less headache on Xiaomi devices.
Here's the latest build: https://mega.nz/folder/cMAT3Q4b#7CbPV7sbEuSEdP7cehXJ-w

For chinese, this will brick the phone. See this instead.
Guys I Just see This video and in it shows the update process, with ltwrp, when the recovery capture the process and update even without losing data, its This True?, somebody has tried?
Link.
This will brick every phone. I brick my EU ROM, with this method of update rooted phone.
What is correct solution to update rooted phone?
Redmi Note 8 Pro, 11.0.2 QGGEUXM, TWRP 3.3.1 1210, Magisk 20.3 -> 12.0.1 QGGEUXM
System say there exists update, i choose download, select reboot, but after reboot i end up in TWRP but nothing happened. After exit i boot to old 11.0.2 system with message that update fail.
Edit 1: after 2. download/update/reboot TWRP start installing image ...
Edit 2: after automatic update system say 12.0.1, just loosing root (all apps stay)
Edit 3: installed TWRP again, Magisk (there was little problem because Magisk Manager say "not installed", but after some googlig i fix that. So i update system without reinstalling apps or loosing data.
Clear solution is probably download full rom from official Mi website and flash selected rom with TWRP (flash TWRP recovery again, repeat root process, to get root back). See next post.

This is how I upgraded, try at your own risk.
Download full recovery zip of MIUI 12 and latest magisk
Create twrp Backup just in case
In LR TWRP 10 mount & format system, cache, dalvik, vendor.
Flash full rom (not ota!)
Press home to return to the main screen Choose Advanced-File Manager item >system_root / system / folder at the bottom if there is a recovery_fromboot.p file delete it.
Go back to Advanced and select Close AVB2.0 and confirm with a swipe to the right.
flash Magisk
boot to system
First boot takes a while, relax and grab a drink
Remember to backup and close AVB!
Thank you so much for sharing these steps. I have questions for a couple of steps below:

What is TWRP 10? Do I format first and then mount? I usually wipe system, cache, dalvik and then "install" the full rom (your next step), but i never try "mount" here. What does mount do here? what is wiping vender and mounting vender?

There are two check box here. one is "close the boot verification of avb2.0" the other is "close the DMVerity of avb2.0". Do O check one of both?

Recovery LR TWRP for Android 10
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682889486
First mount system, cache, dalvik, vendor
Than format system, cache, dalvik, vendor
Without mounting folders they won't be mounted
►go back to your main screen: ADVANCED- close AVB 2.0 then swipe to confirm, just tick only 1st box, ignore the second box
Hi guys I wanna ask you if someone tried to downgrade from android 10 to 9, I really didn't like the gestures and other things in new android.
Right now in don't even have TWRP installed.
It's possible to just download the official rom and flash it with the normal procedure :
I mean :
Local upgrade and upgrade with the file?
I'm really retired about flashing customs roms, that's why I even don't have TWRP installed.
As far as I'm aware your only options are:
1. Use the unbrick tool for the 9.0 software (wipes everything) https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/op5t-collection-unbrick-tools-t3898890
2.find a rollback firmware on oneplus site (will wipe everything but can do through local upgrade option) https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117903378
3. Flash twrp (rather easy through fastboot) wipe system, data, cache but not vendor then install the desired oos software. (Will retain all the files on ur internal like downloads, images, folders etc and once the software has installed it replaces twrp back with stock recovery)
Twrp
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-8-0-8-1-t3729673
ROM
https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156155944
Personally the 3rd is the easiest and only choice for keeping files.
But if you don't mind losing everything then the second is the same as how you updated to the beta from what I can gather. if you want everything to be 100% like day one then the unbrick tool will flash everything including firmware, radios and so on but has to be installed on a Windows computer and then plugged in to phone
Have you had any luck downgrading? I am also not liking 10.
If you have twrp back up you can revert back without losing data.
Instal via adb twrp recovery again, copy oos 9.0.11 to root then dirty flash it , flash magisk if you dont want to lose twrp, then restore only data from backup. Remove pin before start anything.
AFAIK, you can't downgrade with stock OOS recovery
I'm now on 9.0.11 from OB3
Backup your data/apps, remove your fingerprint or PIN, flash TWRP, then install 9.0.11
