Just as the title asks, does our OEM charger charge just as fast as buying a charger that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0? I may have misunderstood but I believe it was stated it charged faster than ours. Just wanted to know before buying. I've been looking around but can't find a good answer. Thanks in advance!

OEM charger is a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 charger, yes is charges just as fast.
Hello everyone,
I purchased an Aukey quickcharge 2.0 from Amazon. I was really exited to receive it hoping it was true that it would charge my M8 40% faster.
Well, to my luck it didn't charge any faster than my OEM 5v 1.67 amp charger (I think it is 1.67)
It took around 2 hours to get my phone fully charged with the Aukey which is really dissapoiting since my OEM does it around the same time.
I contacted Aukey and they sent me another charger and this one did the same thing. I do have an OEM usb and I did try a USB that came with a 2 amp charger and still my mA are not even close to 2000mA.
I tried different roms, and kernels and still no luck.
Right now I'm back on stock 5.0.1 with stock kernel and still no luck.
I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with an Aukey charger or any other quickcharge 2.0 charger.
Has anyone had this happened and fixed it?
Here is a screen shot of my most recent charge
Hi,
anyone tried a quickcharge charger on the op3?
Sure its not supported but i still think it may power the OP3 faster than a normal 1A Charger as it should at least charge with around 3A?
and yes, for everyone who will say DASH is not quickcharge
I am aware
i just wanted to know whats happening if you use a Quickcharge cable someone may have around in the house
thanks!
Everyone should know tbis phone ships with only a qc 3.0 charging brick but is fully 4.0 compatible. Shame on lg.
Just ordered me a 4.0 car charger
The Galaxy S10 is still using Quick Charge 2.0

LG makes decent products, even they can not compete with Samsung, but it helps to improve the diversity of the market!
did it work?

so did you get the Q.C 4.0 charger? did it charge faster? you might need a USB PD charger that can do at-least 21 watts.
LG is just imitating Samsung here, they did the exact same thing with my S8. I only ever fast charged that phone on my laptop.
I wonder if they're secretly trying to extend battery life, isn't fast charge rough on a battery?

I do have the fast charger in my car I cannot say it charges any faster but I don't know if it's certified by Qualcomm. I got it from Amazon
45W?
There seems to be disagreement between Qualcomm and LG. On LG's website it says G8 is QC3.0 in "Power & Performance" section of their Specs page, while QualComm lists G8 as capable of QC4.0 (but not 4.0+).

Which charger did you get and how well does it work?
Old post, worth insisting.
Bought G8, Korean, bit it's the same, only some different bands.
Like previously said I've read QC 3 on LG US website, but QC 4+ on Qualcomm.
I've bought two Hama wall chargers, 3 and 4+.
I also use the 65W PD charger of my laptop.
All three have same exact charging time.
So, how can this be?
Shouldn't 4+ be faster than 3?
If yes, than the G8 it's indeed only QC 3...
Has anyone tried a QC 4 charger yet? How does USB PD speeds compare to QC 3/4? I'm coming from OnePlus and debating about what charger(s) to buy. What's been the fastest chargers?
I know that there is a teardown showing a QC 3.0 charge controller in the phone, but has anyone actually tried charging it with a QC 3.0 (and maybe 2.0) charger? Can you confirm that it does still charge fairly quickly? Don't really want to change all my QC chargers and powerbank. It will be a bonus if someone can test it with a Huawei FCP charger too as that charge my Mi8 Lite (QC 3.0) fast too.
Thanks.
