Anybody using Oneplus 3 on Tmobile as primary phone ? I read some Lte and 4g+ network problem ! is there any call drops ?
How is the GPS on this device ??
Stays on LTE just fine. Only once did I have a problem where data wouldn't connect but I just disabled and then reenabled it to get it working again. No call drops. GPS is perfectly fine.
So volte works fine for be but on LTE Discovery I only see my OnePlus 3 connecting to Band 4, and I'm pretty confident where I live there is band 12 (central Austin, Texas)
Anyone having a similar issue?

I also only connect to Band 4 when I check LTE Discovery, but my area (SF Bay Area) doesn't really have Band 12 in many areas. I've only noticed Band 12 in Lake Tahoe. Honestly, I think the Band 12 hype is overblown; T-mobile's current primary LTE band is Band 4, and that is likely what you will connect to in most areas at least right now.
bottom line for most of us is T-Mobile and LTE is not a problem her in the US. Speeds are rather great and I can hear and connect to all the calls I try and make as long as I have service in that area.

personally, it's not a problem for me in terms of speed or VoLTE or calls, but it's an issue that my reception is orange/yellow all day since it affects battery life.
still get great battery life tbh, just wondering why it works this way...

now that I understand but if you are inside a building like I am reception does get spotty. this is where my wifi calling would come into play. Maybe drop it out of LTE to 3g if inside a building. I did this back in the day to help my battery life

Yeah I have zero issues with VoLTE and LTE in TMobes. If anything, my HTC 10 had issues.
Band 12 connects

The way T-mo enforced this late last year/earlier this year, the phone has to be volte compliant to work on the network, which is synonymous with band 12 functionality. If it works on volte, it works on band 12.

I really want to keep this phone, so please help me out, lol. I am in an extended network area for Verizon. My Gnex drops 3g and it will not come back for hours or longer. The phone will show a signal, full bars -75 signal strength, but the 3g icon will not be there, so no email, speed test, web browsing.
I tried two gnex's and sim cards. The Rezound I have works perfect right next to the gnex, so I don't know what to think? They are both on the same prl. I called verizon, but they are no help, pull battery, factory reset, ect. I tried all the radio's I can find, tried three roms.
I am at a loss, if I can't figure it out I will be forced to live with a rezound for the next two years, help please, thanks.........Brian

Shot in the dark here, but did you enable Data Roaming in the Mobile Network settings? When I was in Indiana a while back (when I still used my Nexus One on T-Mo) it wouldn't use data until I turned on roaming. Which is kinda silly, because that setting is meant for international roaming, but then again America isn't a typical wireless market.
Yes, that and automatic, tried lte/cdma, and cdma only. Tried all the normal stuff, pulling the sim card, ect. It is weird these phones do this, but the rezound just plain works.........
Nothing? Amazon just sent me a brand new Rezound to try, but I really like the gnex, but I need good data. Thanks..........Brian

Automatic is the right setting.
Radio could matter.
LTE/CDMA shouldn't matter.
ROM doesn't matter (at all).
Dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone information and post a screenshot (scroll down just enough to move the IMEI/MEID and your Phone number out of view to save yourself from some post-editing).

I have the exact same issue. I live in a 3G Extended Network area. Data on Droid X worked fine. Got Galaxy Nexus knowing I wouldn't have 4G (3G has been perfect for me). I was out of town when I got it in a Verizon Network. Drove home and...well...no data on Galaxy Nexus. Told Verizon tier 2, and they said it was a "known issue". I've flashed all radios and combinations and nothing has worked yet.
There isn't much you can do, but I bet if you petition/complain enough VZW could actually expand the network. Get others in your area to call in about it. You can't really blame the phone, even if the Rezound is working correctly.
Glad to see I'm not the only one with this issue. I'm also in an extended coverage only area and tend to have 6 or 7 hour stretches of no data. I've gotten two nexuses and neither has been better than the other. Previously had a Droid that never lost signal. As far as getting them to expand their network here, it won't happen because of some stupid municipal law in the county I live in that only allows a certain number of wireless providers and vzw was late to the party. In my case, I'm holding out hope that my situation will improve when the provider here (Cellcom) lunches their 4g network in q2 since they are one of the rural roaming partners for verizon.
Thinking about switching to T-mobile in the SW Suburbs of Chicago; I'm on wifi most of the time, so data speed isnt important to me, but, we MUST have good phone call quality in our house.
Is this an issue for anyone in chicago land, or, if we get a phone that is "wifi capable", and we have a fast, strong, wifi network in our house, does this become a non issue?
We had ATT, which was no problem in the house, and recently switched to Sprint, with the hopes of a stong "Spark Network" here; well, one of our phones in Spark compatible, and works fine, but the other 2 phones are HTC One's, not spark "compatible", and have poor phone call quality and reception in the house. We are waiting on an AirRave front Sprint, but, if that doesnt work, we're ready to go to T-Mobile..
Sorry for this weird question here, but, I trust my buds on XDA to give a real report on stuff like this, NOT the people from T-Mobile
Thanks!:good:
Sorry not from Chicago.
But I can say if you get a phone that can do wifi-calling (most new T-mobile branded phone should do this), then you wouldn't have any problem at all with phone calls.
thanks, thats what I have heard now from all tmobile users..hard to believe every carrier doesnt offer wifi calling.
It would eliminate all complaints about bad call quality.
Yes, my phone had LTE connection while on my visit to Chicago(downtown) in Nov 2013.
Signal strength may change just within few blocks radius. Personally in Long Island I can go from full signal with great lte connection to one bar and crawling lte within quarter of the mile. This is reason why I limit my Note to use 4g network or it is constantly looking for lte and kills battery very fast.

You'll have 4G or LTE pretty much anywhere in Chicagoland

You should check out the coverage maps add complied by Open Signal and Sensorly.
It shows user collected data in your area showing actual user device reception and speed.
FYI. Don't get me wrong, I love wifi calling. It is *great* in a lot of situations. I've had people ask how I am getting texts and getting calls in the bowels of large buildings when they have no service. Love it.
One limitation of the service is that if you leave the wifi coverage area you will obviously lose connection to the wifi calling. Not a big deal if you pop back onto the cell network. UNLESS you are on a phone call. Wifi calling can not hand off your active call to a cell tower (yet). You will always drop the call. Not usually the end of the world, but something to understand going into the deal. For this reason I have my wifi calling preferences set to cell network preferred. That way as long as I have signal I can talk via tower, if signal drops it pops into wifi calling.

Just upgraded yesterday. Rooted as well. Here is a side by side comparison to my Note 3 (on the left). The N4 rests at around 1-2 bars but if I call out it will pick up to full bars once it starts ringing. Anyone else experience this or have any solutions? I have had a couple of voicemails today which I did not receive any missed calls. I rarely had this happen on the N3.

It show lte signal
Update profile to start. The signal indicator shows LTE strength until you make or receive a voice call, then you'll see the 1x signal strength.

I noticed the same issue at home not sure on the roads yet but will see soon got 13 days to return it
Load SignalCheck from Google Play to see if you are even in the same LTE band.
Remember that the Note 4 supports 3 vs. 1

not too worried though! When I got my S4 I had similar problems. A radio fix came out shortly after the release and everything got better.

I hope so i just sold my note 3 and during the sale note 3 had all bars and 4 had 1.
I've got the same problem. With a note 3 side by side, the Note 3 will connect to a 4g network but the Note 4 won't.
My Note 4 does connect to 4g, but not as good or hold the connection as good as the Note 3.
I've definitely noticed a difference between my Note 2 and Note 4 on the LTE signal strength. And not just "bar" signal strength, but where I was getting LTE before vs not getting it, or it swapping over to 3G instead now.
My note 4 doesn't even connect to mobile data when I disconnect from Wi-Fi right now I have 1 bar

Have you tried profile and prl updates? Might also want to call Sprint and make sure your phone was fully provisioned.
Same thing here. Very weak signal. When on sprint spark I only get 5-7 mbs on one bar. Note 3 always had very good signal. I have wifi here at home and at work so no big issue till a fix.......I hope....
Just remember that all phones are released and then a bug fix or fixes are issued after real world testing.
AS FOR ME.....GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH
Bump. Where's the update?

I think we're stuck with 1-2 bars.
Is it possible to flash different modems? are they available?

It shouldnt matter. Once we (by we I mean the developers) get a hold of the Firmware the LTE models can have the same love.
true dat. be nice to drop a 7105 5.0 rom on my note 2. be even nicer if t-mobile drops it though
How long until we get the first international rom?

You are certainly correct. However, some of us are T-Mo customers that live in marginal T-Mo coverage areas. We, or certainly me anyway, rely heavily on WiFi calling. So we depend on an actual T-Mo release. I have very recent (3 mos.) and very marginal LTE coverage and above average HSPA+ coverage where I live. (T-Mo still does not show my city in the LTE list!) I love the developer ROMs, but I use the WiFi calling a lot to improve my coverage. Of course, what does that make me, to stay with T-Mo in a marginal coverage area!? duh !!! Thank you for your wonderful development work.
Happy New Year to all!
sammobile annonced today the international Note II LTE in France is getting 4.4.2 update
we should get the 5.0 eventualy to extend our Note life for atleast another year...
looking forward to it in 3-4 months lol

Old thread I know, I have a similar issue and NO carrier in Orlando has any better network coverage where I live than any other, so it's WiFi calling or almost nothing and I'm not selling my house over that issue. lol

Mine was quite a bit slower than my Note 20 Ultra at first but after a couple reboots it's almost identical to the Note.
No problem here with Magenta Max. I got 470Mbs the other day on 5G UC (ultra capacity).
Any chance they are throttling you?
I am here in NE Ohio. At times it crawls so bad. Really pissing me off. 5G to LTE handoff is horrible
I'm having problem when it shows 5g UC. I get no data at all. If it shows just 5g it's fine. I have to switch to LTE when I have 5g UC or I get no service.

i thought that was the issue too. i will say LTE is better than 5G but both are bad compared to other phones
I was on the phone with them today, no luck. They are clueless.
Horrible 5G and LTE.
I had good speeds when I 1st received it. Think my issue started with last carrier service update.

Same here. The first and maybe the 2nd day it was very good for me.
T-Mobile here. 5g in my area in San Francisco (in the middle of the fu_king city) is total ****e. The worst is the P6P (and my 4a5g) refuse to let go of a weak, one bar 5g signal for a much stronger LTE signal. I turn off 5G more than anything on this phone.
I can't say blame falls all Google or all TMO. All I know, is it ain't pretty when you are trying to save the world from the Enlightenment (Ingress reference).
T-Mobile was upgrading a tower near my house a few weeks ago and I had the same issue, pre Pixel. The P6 Pro has been super fast since I got it. I'm using the unlocked version straight from Google and not the T-Mobile version.
Yeah T-Mobile has been trash in this phone. No matter where I am I can't get over 3megs. When my iphone gets 20+
mine was all jacked up too. did a reset of all network connections in settings and rebooted and it's been great since. it was fine for the first 2 days as well. carrier services update may have messed things up.
same here, tmobile is not great, same issue on 5gUC, will get around 1-3 down which even then freezes and loads any video playing and music will just stutter. so its been greeaatttt
I uninstalled latest update to carrier services from the Google playstore. I can at least get data now on 5G UC.
I'm on T-Mobile by ways of an acquired Sprint customer. I'm in Tampa with my 6 Pro on an eSIM and data service has been very good. 5G symbol everywhere and 5G UC speeds are faster as I've been speed testing when I can and see it.
Well that was short lived. Took the dogs for a walk this morning. Back to no data when on 5G UC. Getting the exclamation in the notification area.
My 5G on TMobile is good so far, but it depends on the Tower locations...
