Which RUU for Canadian unlocked? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

TItle says it all, am using Canadian unlocked version and whenever I flash the 1.80.617 RUU for US unlocked I get this weird bug where I have to go into settings and manually reset default access point names in order to get mobile data. Should I be using international instead? Never got this bug when on WWE edition ROMs. BTW am on Fido network if it matters

cynergy r484 on unlocked phone

FELLAS,
My phone is i747 originally from Rogers Canada and I've unlocked the sim, so I can use it with Virgin Mobile (Bell) Canada. I have been running cynergy roms all along until this last r484 build cropped up. I am trying to figure out installation options with it. ROM installer detects my board as ATT and asks to choose my carrier which is Virgin Mobile (basically Bell) then I install this way I cant send or recive calls my Network options are very limited to manually make selections. During set up phone gets locked up in a SIM activation mode (I installing this rom both ways with Global APN selected and not). Would anyone advise if this is due to unlocked phone and what options should be selected during installation in cases like this? If phone is unlocked can I assume rome installation should be for the current carrier and not the one the phone was originally design for?
Thank you.

[Q] Convert a model to international, is this possible?

i everyone.
I have a verizon m8, which I bought from usa. But I live in turkey and I we dont have lte networks here.
So I always use my phone with gsm.
I am sick of verizon's this is not a verizon sim card warning all the time.
I s-off ed my device and supercid. Changed my mid to developer edition
After it I flashed a 401 firmware.
Everything went good so far.
But I tried to installed a rom (Insertcoin, ARHD) and I got error while installing any of them.
There was an error while installing the kernel.
I flashed stock kernel or Elemental but I ended with bootloop to bootloader.
Is conversation possible, does anyone know the exact process of this?
Thanks

Probably won't work as the Verizon model has different radios in it to the International one so even if it'll flash it might not connect to the GSM network as Verizon are a CDMA network in the US

Thanks for your answer, but as I said I am already using it with gsm at the moment.
There's no way and you should not be flashing things from this forum. Worst case scenario, your phone bricks.

[Q] Network restrictions after unlocking

I recently bought this phone on Vodafone (UK) which obviously came locked. I had it unlocked but there are still network restrictions on the device ie can't connect to mobile data on other services but I can call and text just fine. APN settings are restricted as well. Would it be best to try a different stock Rom? And if so, how:
Unlocked bootloader is something completely different to s-off
S-off does not give you sim unlock !
I mean, will trying to flash a fully stock Rom do the trick aa my stock is branded by hybrid carrier I bought the device from.

M9 Marshmallow (3.35.617.12) - Unable to Get Tmobile Data Internationally

All,
I have an M9 unlocked edition and after the upgrade to marshmallow my international data roaming with Tmobile quite working. I still get all other roaming benefits from Tmobile, but the data just says disconnected.
Everything was working well before the upgrade and it is unclear if there is a new setting I am missing or if this release is incompatible with Tmobiles data roaming.
I have the APNs set as they were before the upgrade, and mobile roaming is checked. Does anyone know what I would try next?
Thanks Fred
Are you full stock, or did you unlock, S-Off, flash a custom ROM? Those are important informations to track down your problem.

It is fully stock and was upgraded from KK to Marshmallow while via an over the air update while my friend was working overseas.
So more information, and I am not out of the country right now, but with roaming selected the mobile data submenu shows that everything is connected an fine, but the setting menu for mobile data says "disconnected". When a SIM is not in the phone the message is "disconnected because services is unavailable"
Trying more things before trying to reflash the software.
Thanks for anyhelp.
All FYI we remedied this situation by using the older tmobile apn settings but it was only necessary for some phones not the newer htc.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
So no more issues??

ROM/RUU compatibility between different variants

I have a Verizon variant. I'm running LeeDroid atm. When installing LeeDroid you can select your variant. I was wondering if you can select US unlocked and essentially operate the Verizon variant as an unlocked variant? I know the Verizon m8 was compatible with at least T-Mobile ROMs and I'm pretty sure the VZ 10 is the same hardware as the unlocked model.
My other question is can you flash a RUU from the unlocked model to a Verizon variant?
I've been away from htc for a while so I'm trying to see how everything works nowadays. I don't want to corrupt my current rom or brick my phone. I've been on Motorola where there's one rom that works for every carrier. Thanks!

I would check the MID of the device and compare it with the firmware. For example, I have a tmobile htc10, but the MID is the exact same as the us unlocked MID, so i flashed the unlocked US firmwares with no problem. If the MID (model id) does not match, I would not recommend trying it. But i could be wrong. But you will also need to change the CID to match the firmware, which isnt the issue really. Changing the CID is very easy. Now, as for selecting the carrier during a rom install, all that does is add some values to build.prop to match the carrier and maybe some specific APN settings for that carrier. Good luck.
