Ok, so this is the issue:
I flash ROMs all the time.
I want to connect my phone to my work email, which forces me to use a PIN to unlock. I can also use a fingerprint instead to unlock.
Since my girlfriend uses my phone from time to time, I don't want to make her add her fingerprints everytime I do a full wipe.
(why full wipe? to test other ROMs for example)
Is there a way to keep the fingerprints backed up somewhere?
thanks.

Not that im aware off as it is part of the security system of the phone.
The same way you cannot do this with your lock code.

So I changed the pattern lock retardly forgot what it was, so looking it up hard reset is about the only way it seems to fix it...
but heres the catch i still have access to the phone it hasn't locked itself yet, so effectively i can restore a nandroid backup from before i deodexed +jitified my phone will this restore the lock screen back to what it used to be?
also apparently if i let it actually lock itself and then try and fail 20 or so times it will ask for my gmail and password and then unlock? this would be a preferable method beacuse i won't have to re apply JIT etc.
took the jump, restored the back was greated with a lock screen on boot up (which deosnt usually happen ?) my heart sank, tried my old lock pattern got in. now to re-apply JIT. i guess a mod can delete this thread now?
Title says it all, I constantly switch ROM's and would love to be able to just backup my finger prints and restore them whenever I install a fresh ROM without re-setting all 4 finger prints each install
Don't think so.. Could give alot of issues also. Is it really needed for that extra 30s you spend?
Can't. Even a full nandroid backup messes up fingerprint data.
That thing is secure for a reason. If you could simply back up fingerprints and restore them, you'd have a huge security hole.
Example: backup fingerprint on your device, get hold of someone else's device, restore your fingerprint to it.
Kinda pointless then, isn't it?

The files that matter are locscreen.db but the problem is if you copy that file later when you try to unlock the new rom won't accept even the correct password so as rom changes it messes up the pattern and pin hence there is no way currently
Ok I'm on the VZW variant of the pixel XL. I have the guy Smiley or whatever his name is unlock my phone bootloader and I rooted it. As we all know when the bootloader is unlocked it wipes your phone completely clean so on first boot it's like starting the phone up right out of the box. I did not set up a pin or fingerprint or Smart Lock or anyting of the nature due to I figured I was going to be flashing or ROM or multiple ROMs soon. And everything I have read about TWRP says that you have to turn off your screen lock before you flash TWR P or a ROM so and so forth.
So my question is when I now have decided to stick with a stock ROM and just use substratum to theme it when I go in and try to setup my fingerprint for the lock screen it asked me to reenter my PIN. Keyword here being "re-enter". I'll have it no point in time created a lock screen pin or pain in TW RP or anywhere for me to have to re-enter it. I know what two or three pins would be that I normally use I have tried those and they do not work. I have tried one two three four I have tried one one one one I have tried 4 3 2 1 and I have tried 0-0-0-0. For the life of me I cannot figure out what the pan Maybe is there a default pin but furthermore why has it created a pin without my knowledge of it or authorization of it?
Any insight into my predicament would be greatly appreciated. As well as any ideas on how I can get rid of this would be greatly appreciated....
And I assumed that I could fastboot flash stock image and wipe the phone completely just like the bootloader being unlocked would. But I'm trying not to lose all my data and have to start fresh setting everything up again.
There is no default pin. Only pin is the pin that was created by the user. Ask that "Smiley or whatever his name" what he did to your phone.

Just reset the phone, it's the most simple thing to do and you won't risk breaking something by trying to figure it out.
Yeah yeah you're right. It's just odd though. I can use my phone just fine. Just can't set up a lockscreen. Didn't know if it had to do with anything in regards to the TWRP /pin issues. And hoping it may be a known issue that I just happen to miss in their forums. You know to make life easier if there was an easier , no data loss, fix.
Maybe this will help you.
Last night my phone got freeze and I decided to restart it, now when I turn it on the phone ask for a pattern before fully start, the problem is that when I put the pattern it doesn't work anymore, I'm not able to start the phone, when I put the pattern it stays for a long time in "cheeking" and finally fails, I have 3 more tries before it wipe everything.
What can I do?

Sadly not, the only way is just doing a factory reset?
I can't understand why the pattern doesn't work, I use it always.

I have no answer, never heard of a phone locking you out when you know the pattern. The only cause I have heard is some android viruses can do this.

The phone was on WhatsApp, in that moment it freezes and was like that for about a minute, then I decided to reboot it, I was reading about a similar case on Lenovo forums that pattern just stop working, I was able to use the fingerprint but when the startup is locked I can only use pattern, pass out PIN... Anyways I'll try a factory reset and pray to God to see if there is a backup of all my data.
Is frustrating because viruses can't be the problem, I don't use the phone to explore the web or download things, just the classic, WhatsApp, maps, Facebook etc.

That's because of encryption, if twrp is installed wipe data, again reboot to recovery and wipe data, this will remove encryption
hello,
my youngest son, create new pattern to unlock phone, but now he dosent remeber new pattern. Can I reset password, or anything else? without loss data? any mod, apk?
No.
I've used the attached file to remove my standard lockscreen on multiple phones including this one (previously on LG phones). Usually this happens when I upgrade the phone software which somehow scrambles the lockscreen encryption or something, and it won't recognise the same pattern or PIN I had set previously.
I don't think it's ever caused the rest of the phone to lose its data, but I always take a backup first in case it ever does. I don't remember having to restore it because of clearing the lockscreen (I have had to for other reasons though).
The only caveat I know of is it needs to be run from a custom recovery, which in my case is TWRP. I don't think it matters if the phone is encrypted, but please don't hold me responsible if it causes you to lose your data.
