Increasing volume steps for lower notification & ringing volumes. - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

As the title says, does anyone know of a way to add volume steps to the OP3? I am using OOS and have added 35 steps to the media volume using GravityBox but I can't find any Xposed modules or zips that increase the steps for notifications & call volume, I find both to be really loud and I don't want to use the slider to keep the phone on permanent silence.

No one has an answer for this? There's an Xposed module that will increase volume steps, to make it louder. But nothing to decrease sound.

Volumesteps+ works on my vzw HTC 10 I increase it too 15 now the in call volume is loud as hell

I wanted to decrease sounds. I found a solution, I just pulled the .ogg files and manually lowered the decibels, changed permissions and I was good to go.

With xposed there is a tweak
VolumeSteps+
Works for me. More steps. First less loud.

[Q] Increase Incall volume

I've searched the forum and found many answers, but none worked for me.
I've rooted HTC Desire 2.3.3. I'd like to increase the incall volume as its not loud enough for me. I'd also like to increase incall volume while making Skype call.
I tried with this app volume+ but it didn't help much.
I once had seen in the forum, replacing some sound profile files in the system partition to increase the volume. I can't find that post anymore. Can anyone help me find that tutorial again. Or if there is any other better way to increase incall volume would be great as well.
I think this in some way has to do with the type of kernel that you are using. I have noticed that ever since i started using bananacakes kernels, my volume is so loud that i reduce it to 50%. Previously I couldnt hear anything.

Volume+ semi-functional, still too low in-call volume

Initially, my nexus's speaker volume and incall volume are both really low even at maximum settings. After browsing around xda, I found people recommending volume+ so I paid $1.62 and got the full version. Speaker volume is loud enough now, although I feel the quality is not very good. I don't use speaker to listen to music so it's not a big problem.
There's also in-call volume setting in volume+. I set it to 90 and strange things happens: When I use skype, in call volume is extremely high, I can almost treat it like I'm on speaker. It feels like the settings are working. However, for regular calls, the in-call volume stays the same, still too low for most cases. I can only hear people in quiet rooms. I barely hear anything on a street. Setting in-call volume to other numbers doesn't change the result. So my result is volume+ is only semi-functional. Any other fix for in call volume?
In call volume is the only api not exposed so it cant be increased. Btw everyone goes for volume+ but equalizer by smart apps is free and i much prefer over volume+.
Anybody has any other ideas? Low call volume is really annoying
Still nobody? Everyone‘s incall volume is loud enough?
Basically what the guy above just said:

Just did a test:
Removed in call settings
Speaker to +10
Called *611 (bell customer service) let the automated machine start talking..
Click volume down on rocker a few times then clicked volume up a few times and the sound increasef to am acceptable level.
However when i clicked up one to many times it almost mutes volume but the onscreen indicater is at max (found this odd).
Saw this on the thread you gave. I have the same situation. There exists a maximum in-call volume at around 3/4 of the bar. It's enough for regular use but still a bit low
low volume on calls
Still no one comes with a solution, the volume on the gnex is very low on call especially outside...thanks

I have the same problem using ZTE Blade... volume+ didn't work.
I think there solutions, many roms developer put on their changelog things like "in-call volume boosted" then I ask how you did that and no one anwers...
Anyway I did some research and I found on the rom i'm using a file named libaudio.so that says:
Setting in-call volume to %d (available range is 0 to 7)
Guess that for me increasing steps with volume+ only has efect until 7...
Maybe i'm being stupid... can someone with more experience analyse this?

[Q] Is it possible to have more granular sound control?

One thing that bugged me about the Note (and most tablets/phones) was volume control. Often times I need to have the volume set low enough as to not disturb someone else in the home, but I have two choices, either I can't hear it or it is very loud.
I found a app called Fine Volume Control that allowed me to adjust the volume on a 100% scale in 1% increments or decrements. It allowed for the perfect volume level. The only part that made it suck was that you had to hit the volume up or done (sometimes making a video or whatever blast for a second) and you would get a "popup" volume control dial. Anyway, I'm assuming that the amount of control is (currently 15 points) must be somewhere in some section of the system that a root user could modify much like an app would only so that the volume buttons and sliders would adjust it properly with more levels of control.
Does anyone know if this setting exists and if yes, where would it be?
you can change the base volume in the default_gain file in system/etc but i havent found any related to adding the step...

Hmm...I tried changing a few things (nothing like random guessing) and rebooted each time...doesn't seem to do much.

[Q] Minimum volume too loud. Any way to lower it?

The lowest possible volume setting (before silent of course) on the M9 speaker is too loud for me. Is there any way to lower it further? Is there a specific file that controls the volume that I could modify?

Yeah, I already have it on Music mode. Still way too loud.
There must be a config file that has the sound levels in it that we can edit, no?
I just looked at Dragon-fi Audio, thanks. It seems like that has many more modifications that what I'm looking for. I just need a way to lower the sound level of the minimum volume.
you can edit a file called something with mixer_path.xml . but i forgot which exactly it was.. but yea Dragon-fi is really nice and awesome and really helps with static noise on m9...also anything else is much more improved *_*

CM13 Teesmask build incall volume on lowest call sound is extreme sound my ears hurt

it isnt the cause for music but when using viper it does not change in call volume with that said the lowest in call volume slider still makes it super loud for some reason does anyone have a way to reduce it greatly ?
