hi. of late i have noticed that my GNEX is not getting detected on my laptop. it is a stock unlocked phone and updated to 4.2.2. tried different USB cables and ports on the system. no help. USB debugging is off. i am a novice so did not do much setting on the phone. the phone charges when connected via USB to the laptop but error message appears saying the device is not detected. please replace the device.

You should install the drivers via havedisk metod.
What Do You Mean By HaveDisk Method ?!!!
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda app-developers app
I think there is a problem with windows 8. Try win 7 , it will probably be solved.

I can't believe it. I must have spent 8+ hours screwing around with various drivers, uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling again, and even ended up buying a new data cable (per so many suggestions) and this is the only thing that worked: This exact version of Samsung drivers! It must be a Windows 8 thing. I was ready to find a Windows 7 PC after all of the direction I had read to do so.
Thanks!

Hello, I cannot get my computer to recognize my phone while in download mode, thus I cannot load a KDZ file to restore my soft bricked phone. I have the latest LG device drivers installed and have been able to transfer files before I bricked my phone (I accidentally wiped the OS in TWRP). Device manager states that there is a problem with the drivers. Is there anyway I can restore my phone? Thanks in advance

I have tried uninstalling the drivers many time and have also let Windows find the drivers itself but it says that the driver cannot be found.

Try a different USB cable and port. Have you got ADB installed? If so you should do a complete update of that too

Thanks for the help. but I finally got it to work by using a Windows 7 computer. I believe that there was something interfering with the drivers on my Windows 8 64 bit version.

You need the usb drivers installed or you need to ensure MTP mode is enabled.
