You need the usb drivers installed or you need to ensure MTP mode is enabled.

Today i decided to install the 4.2.1 ROM on my nexus, i deleted all internal file in recovery mode but now when i connect the telephone on pc it doesn't work, maybe because the usb debugging is off and now i don't have any rom on my cellular phone. The problem is that i can't browse my telephone because my pc don't recognize it. i tryed to install some usb driver but nothing has worked then i can put in the now or old rom. how i can solved this problem? To enable USB debugging, go to settings>about phone>tap on the build number 7 times. It will tell you "you are now a developer" and your will have USB debugging back
As far as your driver issues go, it sounds like you only installed fastboot drivers and not the regular drivers. Or somehow the regular drivers got deleted. If it was me, I would try rebooting my computer and phone. If that doesn't work, run the driver setup wizard in the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit. The first part of that process is deleting old drivers. It does a very thorough walkthrough on how to do that.

Try connecting your GNex to PC while in recovery mode then use ADB to push any ROM from PC to your /sdcard/ of your GNex in order to flash it.
At worst case, I think you can use a fastboot image to flash your GNex via fastboot.

Now i running nothing, pratically i formatted all internal data because i would use the 4.2.1 version that is on my pc, after the format the computer does not recognize my cellular phone, so atm i don't have any rom on my phone and now i don't know how i can solve that, it could be easy if i can browse the phone on computer

Soft bricked(?) my phone. I've got no ROM installed and No ROM/backup on my SD card.my laptop doesnt detect my phone even after re-installing USB device driver (error MTP USB device).
Now I want to use ADB Sideload to push a ROM into my SD card in recovery.
Unfortunately it seems like USB Debugging isn't turned on, it can't find my device.
Is there anyway to turn it on in recovery/ TWRP? any other way to bring back to life?

Thanks, problem is USB debugging is not enabled :crying:
I think your problem is incorrect drivers, uninstall your current driver and install this

Hello, I cannot get my computer to recognize my phone while in download mode, thus I cannot load a KDZ file to restore my soft bricked phone. I have the latest LG device drivers installed and have been able to transfer files before I bricked my phone (I accidentally wiped the OS in TWRP). Device manager states that there is a problem with the drivers. Is there anyway I can restore my phone? Thanks in advance

Try a different USB cable and port. Have you got ADB installed? If so you should do a complete update of that too

Thanks for the help. but I finally got it to work by using a Windows 7 computer. I believe that there was something interfering with the drivers on my Windows 8 64 bit version.

HI:
I have my friend phone and it's Xperia S , i just want to root it but the problem is all rootkits can't detect my phone , just still on "wait for device".
Flashtool can detect it fine and the Sony PC Companion can.
I am trying to root using DooMLoRD Toolkit v18.
1) Are the Drivers installed?
a.Is USB debugging on?
2) Turn on Unknown Sources because it doesn't hurt to
3) Check the Cable
4) Try another computer

Hi Dev's!
I forget to make backup and now there is no ROM install in my LG G2 LS980. I am currently using TWRP 2.7.0 recovery. The problem is USB-OTG not mounting and i think because of this issue i also can't able to install ADB Drivers as in PC device manager there is no drivers showing their so install it manually but still my PC not recognizing my phone. I think the problem is only just because of drivers. Can anybody help me how to install ROM in my G2 LS980? The last ROM which was installed in my phone that Cloudy G3. I tried almost every trick and procedure but failed to recover my ROM. I am searching for the solution from about 3 weeks. I want my device back to normal. :crying:
Kindly help me in this matter. Thanks a million in advance.
Regards,
Bilgramiz

Try using a PC without the LG drivers (or uninstall LG drivers, which ever is easier for you) and let windows (if that's what you're using) look for generic drivers which will install it for the MTP function, it will call your device a "portable media device" next to your other drives. Then you can transfer files regularly while in recovery (don't need to mount USB OTG).

Sorry this reply is pretty late... The generic drivers install automatically on windows when there are no specific drivers installed (I've done it on win 7 and 8.1) Nothing special needs to be done. I've had the same issue as you before.
