I was looking for the following RUU/Rom was wondering if anyone had it?
0PFHIMG_EYE_UL_M60_SENSE70_MR_HTC_Europe_4.11.401.1_Radio_1.22.213311581.29G_20.57.4205.01_F_release_474644_combined_signed_2_4.zip
Honestly, I've neve seen European RUU for this phone, so I can't help you with it, but you can try to install AT&T RUU (you can find it on this forum) and then flash some EU rom, and radio as option.
only website i've seen it on is http://forum.a2phone.ir/download-center-new-firmware-files/373-desire-eye_eye_ul_m60_sense70_mr_htc_europe_4-11-401-1-firmware.html
but its a paid website & tbh I just wanna return the phone to stock to sell it now not put money into is that I know am gonna loose

Has anyone tried to rebrand their debranded Hutchison 3g (Three UK) phone with an SLCD screen? I'm not sure if it's possible, but might there be a way to modify a stock rom so that I can trick the OTA updater into thinking I have a branded phone? Or is there an RUU already for H3G that supports SLCD?
I've already tried to search for a solution, but I'm not an extremely advanced user and I wouldn't know how to go about doing such a thing, so I thought I would ask for help from the generous XDA community
Thanks,
unnddd
Edit: Just found that there is indeed an RUU, but I haven't found a place where I can download it. Anyone know where I can get it? I've seen a few custom ROMs floating around based on RUU.Bravo.Froyo.H3G.UK.2.25.771.1.Radio.32.48.00.32U.5.11.05.14.release.149217.signed.exe so it must be around somewhere.
Hello guys,
I purchased a second hand HTC One M8 which has been converted to GPE, unlocked bootloader and S-OFF. The phone is currently locked to the Vodafone network, so I assume it was previously a Vodafone branded device.
Now I need to get this phone unlocked because Im with another netowork, so I purchased an unlock code online which failed (they have always worked in the past). I got a refund from the seller and was told to try a different seller. Purchased a new one but it turned out to be the same code. I told the seller my story and was told I need to make sure I am on the latest official stock ROM. Maybe the previous owner entered an incorrect code too many times and disabled this whole thing altogether? I dont know.
Im not sure how a stock ROM would make a difference, but the phone is useless to me being locked to Vodafone so I guess its worth a try. Now heres where I need your help because Im a Nexus user so Im not too familiar with all these CIDS, MIDS, etc.
I have changed my CID to superCID, do I now just flash the Vodafone RUU? Or do I need to take further steps? I dont really need to change the MID aswell do I? I will not be staying on stock, I will most likely be returing to GPE or some AOSP ROM and I'd like to keep the bootloader unlocked and S-OFF.
Also are there any other methods to get this SIM unlocked? I have read the thread about using a generated dat file, but read that no longer works.
Thanks.
Follow the 'back to sense' thread in general first, then set CID to the Vodafone one, I assume UK), then flash the RUU
Hi,
Thanks. Is this the thread you are referring to?
I thought I could flash any RUU with superCID which is why I changed to that, but no problem I'll just change it over to Vodafone to be safe, it is VODAP001 for the UK version I believe.
You can use the unbranded EU RUU if you prefer, it's up to you
And yes, that thread
No what I meant was I thought I should be able to flash the Vodafone RUU using superCID without having to change to the Vodafone one...but nevermind I changed it over anyway.
But Im having some problems with this actually. I downloaded what I thought to be the Vodafone ROM from the HTC dev site, the file name is m8ul-3.4.0-g3c7a5c1.zip, I follwed the steps laid out in the going back to sense thread but I get an error message '24 parsing android-info fail', tried a few times as mentioned in the thread but same thing happens.
I then located a Vodafone RUU exe in this thread. That failed to even run as confirmed by another member, something to do with InstallScript.
So then I tried flashing the previous zip file with the htc_fastboot that you provided in the same thread, same error as before.
Any suggestions? Or do you know if there is a working Vodafone RUU available anywhere?
The file on HTC Dev is the kernel source, which is why that hadn't worked.
As for the RUU, it looks like it could be corrupt.
You first have to flash that ZIP in the back to sense thread to get the partitions corrected and then you can flash an RUU. I'd just use the EU one as (for a start) it works and it means you don't have all the carrier rubbish
Oh ok, I didnt realise I had to flash that before flashing an RUU, I just thought flashing any RUU would sort out the partitions.
I'll go ahead and flash the zip file and the EU RUU as I am unable to find a Vodafone one. But Im really not too bothered about the carrier crap anyway because as I say the only reason for going back to stock is to try and SIM unlock the device, and if doing that will really make a difference then it would most likely do it on the stock Vodafone ROM, but I dont know I could be wrong.
I'll let you know how I get on.
You can SIM unlock it regardless of ROM. Some people say flashing the RUU will sort everything out but, in my experience, I've had to flash the first ZIP and then the RUU to get it all working properly
Thats what I thought but it didnt work. The unlock code provider then told me to make sure I am on official stock ROM which is why Im trying to get the Vodafone ROM loaded on this phone. As Ive said I dont know how much of a difference it will make if any, but it is worth a try I suppose.
Anyway Ive had some problems flashing the EU RUU, I followed the guide and flashed the firmware zip which went all fine. Then I flashed the EU RUU provided in your guide, but it kept giving me errors towards the end - 51 partition update fail. Downloaded another RUU which gave me the same error, tried an RUU exe which also failed. Tried flashing a different firmware but I cant remember if it failed at that stage or at the RUU stage. Then I thought maybe the firmware is an old version from Kit Kat. I felt as if I didnt know what I was doing and should give up!
I then came across this thread and that person was doing it through TWRP backups which I thought I should maybe try. But I dont know Ive been at this for hours and currently without a ROM or recovery! I think Im gonna flash back to GPE until I know what to do.
I am trying to revert my M9 as much as possible to stock. I am really annoyed by the red warning on start up.
Currently it is 2.9.841.2
Is there any way to figure out which RUU i can flash on the device? I am currently downloading 0PJAIMG_HIMA_UHL_L50_SENSE70_Telstra_WWE_1.32.841.7_R_Radio_01.01_U11440261_56.01.50303G_3_F_release_425231_signed but was hoping to find something without Telstra branding.
TIA

Come on guy, maybe these 75 persons had no answer, not enough time to type a text or any other reason why he or she didn't help. This is not a chat where you can expect immediate answers.
But let's get back to the topic: Are you S-ON or S-OFF? (If you don't know you're probably S-ON.) With S-ON it's not possible to downgrade or to flash RUUs with a different SKU (the 841 stands for your Telstra branding). So you won't be able to use the RUU you mentioned in your first post. Either you look for a RUU with firmware version 2.9.841.2 or higher or you pay the 25 USD to get S-OFF via Sunshine. With S-OFF you could flash an unbranded RUU. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but Telstra is an Australian carrier, right? The Australian unbranded SKU would be 710. If you prefer the unbranded World Wide English version you should look for the 401.)

Thank you for the reply. I am in Australia. And i am S-ON unfortunately.
The de-branding is not even the biggest issue but what i really want is to get rid of the warning that it is a developer device on start up. Unfortunately this phone was sold to me the way it is. I have spent the last ween looking for the RUU of same or higher version but wasn't able to find even the one i am on

Well, at the moment I see three options you can choose from:
Get S-OFF via Sunshine and downgrade/debrand your phone. (25 USD)
Use the RUU service on llabtoofer's website. (don't know the price)
Hope that someone who already has an account can get you the 2.9.841.5 RUU from ir-file.
I know someone who might be able to help you with option 3 but I cannot guarantee anything. For example the 2.10.401.1 RUU from ir-file was corrupted/broken and because of that not flashable. In the worst case the 2.9.841.5 RUU might not work, either. (Nonetheless you would still be able to choose option 1 or 2 in that case.)

If nothing goes wrong the 2.9.841.5 RUU should be downloadable in around 4 hours.
Edit: There you go.
Has maybe anyone else downoaded it? When i unpack the file it is just about 32MB of size

Why is everbody trying to unzip RUUs? Only because it's a *.zip file that doesn't mean that you should unzip it. Do you unzip rom archives, too, before you flash them with TWRP? Look at my signature and follow the instructions in the google sheet.
Thank you so much. After i gave up trying to unpack it and looked up how to do it, it worked like a charm.
Hello fellow xda people!
I know,I know, the title isn't very accurate. Give me suggestions if you have something more accurate.
I'd like to buy that phone, but after reading some threads here, I still have some questions :
-If I want to send my phone back to htc, let's say for a battery problem, should I go back to full stock? Because apparently to go back to stock we need to use a RUU, which needs S-OFF. But S-Off is a hint for them to understand we rooted, installed custom roms no? So if I need to send them back, am I screwed?
-Then, speaking about the customer service, how did you find it if you had to deal with it? And especially in Europe and France...
-If I don't want to go back to stock, should I go S-Off? Saw somewhere we had to pay for it :/, so is it worth it? What are the advantages?
-if I order it now, will I receive a quickcharge 2.0 charger or will I have to order it apart?
-How do you think will be the development for this phone in a few years? I'm new to HTC, so will they push updates for android N or was MM the last official update pushed?
-Are there different versions of the phone, making it incompatible with some ROMs? And if yes, which one should I choose? What is the name of the international version?
-I think that's all, If I need something else, I'll post back here
Thank you everyone!

I think the title is great. It describes what you are trying to do, and what you are asking.
If returning to HTC for warranty, going back to full stock is recommended (stock software, LOCKED bootloader, and possibly s-on). You do not need s-off to RUU (as long as its the proper RUU for your M8 version and proper RUU number - no downgrading with s-on). But you do need s-off to make the bootloader say LOCKED (which after UNLOCKED, only RELOCKED is possible with s-on). If you have s-off, you can change it back to say s-on. Although it is possible (although uncommon) for devices to come from the factory with s-off, so requirement to make it s-on (for warranty) is debatable.
-Then, speaking about the customer service, how did you find it if you had to deal with it? And especially in Europe and France... I don't live in Europe, nor have I dealt with HTC very much. Honestly, I've owned 6 HTC devices, and almost zero problems with any of them.
-If I don't want to go back to stock, should I go S-Off? Saw somewhere we had to pay for it :/, so is it worth it? What are the advantages? You don't need s-off to root of flash custom ROMs. s-off is needed to flash modified hboots, manually flash radios, and a few other things. S-off is useful, but not mandatory for many people.
-if I order it now, will I receive a quickcharge 2.0 charger or will I have to order it apart? You will get a standard charger. If you want QC 2.0, you'll need to put it separately, but there are 3rd party versions that are good quality, and inexpensive.
-How do you think will be the development for this phone in a few years? I'm new to HTC, so will they push updates for android N or was MM the last official update pushed? I don't think HTC has stated it officially, but most of us are suspecting that MM is the last major update. So you may be relying to ports (from newer HTC devices), AOSP ROMs, etc. if you want Android N. ROM development is still decent; although certainly slowing. But I expect and hope some devs will keep supporting the M8 for some time to come.
-Are there different versions of the phone, making it incompatible with some ROMs? And if yes, which one should I choose? What is the name of the international version? CDMA version (Sprint and Verizon), the dual SIM M8, and M8 Eye all need specific ROMs (or at least specific kernels, in the case of the CDMA versions). Otherwise, the other M8 version are all virtually the same, and share ROMs. So for the purpose of custom ROMs, I would definitely recommend the "international" otherwise known as the "GSM" M8 (so any version except CDMA, dual SIM, or Eye).
You should also be careful where you buy from, and what version you are buying. I've seen some folks on here that thought they were buying a international/GSM M8, but it was a Sprint or Verizon that was debranded (software modified, back plate changed) to make it seem like a it was the international version.

OK, Thank you very much @redpoint73 for this precise answer! So I was still browsing around for more info about that phone, and a guy said we have to extract the kernel of every ROM (except for stock based Roms) and flash it separately if we are s-on. It was a HTC forum, but the topic was very global, so is this specific phone part of them, or can I flash complete ROM packages directly without extracting the kernel?
And, another one, how can I be sure my phone is a GSM version? They have a different name under "about phone" section of the settings, but this can be faked I think. And I could also verify the MID in the boot loader?

That is totally false. This was true on some older HTC devices (maybe they mean the One M7?) but was never the case on the M8. You just wipe and flash the desired ROM. Kernel flashes with the ROM automatically.

You need to look at not only the CID and MID in bootloader (getvar all) but also the product name (such as m8_ul, etc.). CID and MID can be easily hacked with s-off, but as far as I've seen, the product name is never modified.
Good list of MIDs and product names (column labelled "Variant" on the table) here: http://droider.eu/2014/09/20/htc-one-m8-models/
Until you have the phone in hard, I'm not sure how much of this you can tell for sure. So buy from a reputable source, with a guaranteed method of refund of exchange, in case the device is not as advertised (and we're seeing more and more of that lately).

If you're on Lollipop, you can use sunshine to unlock and flash away. If on MM, you have to downgrade to LP, and then use sunshine to unlock (this is a cost of 25 USD). There is a thread for the downgrade here in the Verizon forum. As for a rom, I highly recommend LeeDroid, as he makes roms for all M9s, and he is based out of the UK. For that, just go to the HTC One M9 main forum, not the Verizon forum. I'm currently running it and it is fantastic.
Edit: Sorry, totally somehow thought you were locked. Anyway, just make sure you have the latest TWRP and flash any rom you want, but you'll find more activity here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9
Roms based on stock (I recommend for stability, signal, and camera) are under "One (M9) Android Development."

Here's the link for the rom which has instructions for for installation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/rom-leedroid-one-m9-v7-0-0-rc1-march-t3068468
I can't remember off the top of my head if your recovery is new enough (I believe it is), but here is the thread for TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-t3066720
If you don't feel comfortable rebooting your phone into different modes and doing some command prompt codes, I'm not sure I'd recommend doing any of this though. Make sure you do your research and read, read, read. Maybe even search YouTube for examples of people flashing TWRP and such.
thank you sending the phone back, will buy a uk version
