If it's only looping when running on battery, but is stable when charging, then your battery is bad/defective.
You need to get a new battery. I'd personally go with a Samsung OEM battery or the PolarCell 3400mAh battery (I'm using it).

battery fault thanks guys!

I just got a Nexus and rooted, etc, using the toolkit.
I've noticed that the battery will not charge all the way to 100%, no matter how long i let it charge.
Yesterday for example, i used the phone till it died, then connected the phone to the charger over night.
This morning i turn the phone off and see that the battery is only at 92%!?
How can i fix this?!
Currently running Vicious Jell Bean v4.
Perhaps this is why there is an option to clear battery stats in clockwork, yes?

That doesn't actually do anything aside from erasing your battery graph.
Yeah from what I've read, clearing the battery stats using CWM or some other calibration app, didn't take care of the whole problem.
Any other ideas?

Does the kernel you are using have BLX?
That can be used to put a limit on how high a battery charges, maybe you changed the value by accident or it was set that way by the dev.

Have you tried doing a trickle charge?

How can i tell?
Not sure but i didn't use any other kernel except the one that came with the Vicious Jelly Bean rom.
I just noticed that you can change the mAh capacity in the "Battery Monitor Widget" by 3C.. it currently shows that capacity is 1750mAh when the stock battery states 1850mAh. Should i change the value now and drain the Battery completely, then full recharge?

Have not.
What exactly is a trickle charge?

I noticed the same thing when I was running Vicious v3, it would stop at 95%. I'm running latest bugless beast now and the issue is gone.

I think thats what is called, My phone never goes past 99% no matter how long i leave it there so now when it reaches said 99% i unplug it and re-plug it inmediately and it goes up to 100%

what the crap...
I super-wiped, deleted dalvik cache, and factory reset, and flashed the Rev' HD rom, and STILL doesnt charge past 92%?!?!
Perhaps its the "Battery Monitor Widget" from 3C and the data stored?!??
Same happened to me. And it's getting worse progressively - first it was charging to 89%, then it didn't go above 79, now I can rarely see it go over 60
Since day one my phone never got to 100%, it always stops at 99%...
My phone was able to charge to 100% within reasonable time. I've changed a few firmwares with full wipe, that didn't impact neither the ability to charge to 100% when it was able to do so nor the inability to charge fully when the problem surfaced.
I suspect that problems started after I dropped my phone (wasn't a hard drop, just a fall to a hard surface from 0.5 m, no visible damage).
Is it possible that the battery gets damaged somehow?
Same problem

Same problem here, my phone charge until 84% BUT:
I tried with a battery of my friend that was at 95% and my phone showed it 60%!
The issue is in the way that our phone measure the battery, but i already tried wipping bat stats and nothing...
I also wiped all the things and re-installed 4.2.2 and same problem
Why would you even bother eating your time wiping battery stats? It had absolutely nothing to do with charge indication.

Everytime my phone reaches around 30% my phone just dies, then wont start till i connect it to a ac wall charger.
i have two batteries and at first i thought it might of been a ebay battery i purchase but it does it with both.
any help?
Try to wipe the battery stat in recovery.
I tried wiping it Ndnit continues to behave this way. Thank you for replying

Did this just start happening with the new kernel? If you are sure it isnt a hardware/battery issue, I would set it back to stock and see if that fixes it. Hopefully its just a bad combination of kernel/rom. Good luck !
You know what it might be the kernal I using the Trinity kernal experimental 537. I'm flash back to the stable version. See if that helps.

I had a odd quirk earlier today. My phone showed around 40-55% the suddenly died. I turned it back on and saw 8% left.. hasn't happened again but was strange.

Try taking out the battery for a few minutes. Put it back in and leave it off. Plug the charger into a wall outlet and then charge with the phone off. Just leave the phone alone for a while to build up a charge.

Nope...its still just vibrating and not showing the icon...
Might need to leave it off for a longer period of time. Have you tried plugging it in to a pc to see if you get similar activity? Not that it will do anything different or solve it but just to check.

I'm running CM9 and have had this problem with 2 different Samsung Epics...I'll be on a phone call with, say 38% battery and all of a sudden I'll hear a system beep and look at the phone and see it's dropped to 0%, shutting down the phone. I've had different modems installed and always had the same result. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Sounds like old batteries.

Yeah, it seems to me like it could have something to do with voltage or something, but I've been using about 4 or 5 different batteries with the same results.
Try updating to CM 9.1 Stable, CM 10 Stable, or CM 10.1 RC5

Do you think it is as simple as that? I am pretty bad about popping the battery out when I change batteries without shutting down. I charge them in an external charger (and charge the one in the phone overnight in the phone). I'll give it a shot and start shutting down properly before putting a fresh battery in. Thanks for the tip.
I am running vanir rom and ASKP build 13 kernel.. My problem is that phone doesn't charge when it's on. I have to turn off phone to charge it and even then it doesn't always work
Its shows the battery charge animation and the turns off a nd again a fresh animation.. It's been only 6 months since I got this

When on, you have 0 issues with USB, when pushing/pulling stuff from the sdcard, adb... ?

At first I had issues only with charging.. Then one day while I was trying to copy files to my phone from pc my phone automatically rebooted between transfer.. Ever since then my phone is not recognised.. It's says use device not recognised... Haven't tried flashing another rom yet.. Another guys running the same kernel has reported the issue in the kernel thread

Then switch kernels, what's the big deal

Is this issue common for nexus?

Never heard of this happening. I know there was a time that my phone wasn't charging and I switched my charger, and it began working again.
