Im not sure i understand everything perfectly. I have just got my HTC10 from tmobile, so its a tmobile us branded htc 10. Unlocked bootloader, S-off'd and did some other crap. Clearly tmobile is lagging on firmware releases. So my question is, can any firmware be flashed on my device now?(like the RUUs on htcdev.com)? Say for specific example, the unlocked/developer RUU? Im sure i would have to write supercid, but other than that, is this a common practice to flash firmware not from the carrier on carrier-branded devices? Will this mess anything up? Thanks
If the "some other crap" that you did was change the cid and mid to match the US unlocked HTC 10 then yes, you can flash the US unlocked RUU. For any RUU you want to flash, make sure the CID and MID match that RUU or it'll give an error. Don't use super CID.. Use the correct CID/MID for the RUU. It won't mess anything up.. You'll still have your Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE with T-Mobile. Enjoy the updated software once you're done.

If I super cid my handset does that mean I can use ANY RUU suitable for "international m8" even if the RUU has an older hboot and firmware ?
Currently on ARHD 11.1 and trying to work out best, and easiest, way to get back for stock for OTA "L" update when it comes.
Thanks

I believe the super CID means you can install any RUU period - sort of like a skeleton key. It's then up to you to make sure that you are installing an appropriate version.
If you just need to go back to stock, however, you only need a CID for your carrier/region (or developer edition) and the appropriate RUU.

It won't allow you to "downgrade" or run an RUU with a lower hboot number. Although s-off will allow this.
To the OP, does a RUU for any international M8 even exist? AFAIK only US variants have RUUs. You will probably have to find your carrier's nandroid, and stock recovery to return to stock for OTA.
But if you are willing to flash custom ROMs, there will probably be custom ROMs based on Android "L" soon after it starts rolling out OTA. Possibly even faster than waiting for your carrier version.

Will, more than likely, use mikes "version" of L when released. Main reason I want to get OTA update is so my firmware is updated for L.
My handset is not locked to any carrier, sim free UK handset.
Thanks
Edit, was just curious as to the benefits of super cid. I've got my own "complete" nandroid, no missing data, so as I was told by mr hofs yesterday all I need to do is flash one of his stock recoveries.

Hello. I have a AT&T branded HTC One M8. No longer with ATT , the device is unlocked and being currently used with T-Mobile. Everything works fine. I went back to KitKat since not a big fan of lollipop since couldn't get battery life to be as excellent as KK. I did the 4.4.4 RUU for ATT and flash CM11 and everything worked perfectly, except signal. The signal drops so much to where in places that I normally had 4G LTE in I would drop to emergency calls only. But only going to kitkat. Whenever I was on Lollipop my signal was perfect, I'd use the latest ATT RUU for M8, then go to somewhere like LeeDroid. So after that rant, Can I use the T-Mobile RUU, or could someone point out a specific radio that I could use with Kitkat on T-Mobile network to where signal ought to work?
I would suggest the T-Mob RUU for best performance on the T-Mob network.
You'll need s-off, and then change to the T-Mob CID and MID to run the T-Mob RUU. Also, no need to relock the bootloader to RUU once you've done s-off.

Do I still need to if I'm Super CID? Also currently on Skydragon, used on of their modified firmware for T-Mobile. Seems to be working good. But still suggest to go ahead with what you stated?

If you are on the Lollipop T-Mob US firmware and Skydragon, you should be good to go. Do you have any signal issues with this setup?
To answer your CID questions (just as FYI, or in case you end up wanting to run T-Mob RUU), SuperCID will satisfy (pass) the CID check. But you still would need to change to the T-Mob MID (model ID). MID is a separate check from CID. You need to pass both to run the RUU.

Alrighty! Thanks for the MID info. My signal seems to be a lot better. I always was on HSPA+ with full bars, now getting around 2-3 bars of LTE. So cant complain about that since I live a little outside of town. Thank you for you assistance!
Hey guys,
I own an original unlocked M9 (1.32.617.30) and want to convert it to the international model for the quicker updates.
Just got it S-OFF and wanted to make sure I got the rest of the steps right:
1. Change MID to 0PJA10000
2. Change CID to 11111111 (or to HTC__001? which is better?)
3. Run 1.32.401.17 RUU (is it possible to run 1.40.401.8 RUU instead? or do I need to flash a 1.32 base first?)
Cheers! Trying to avoid a bricked phone

Who is your carrier?
You shouldn't need to change your mid. Just change to super cid and you can flash the latest firmware and any custom rom you want.
If you're AT&T, the 401 firmware should work seamlessly, you just probably will not get voLte. If you're tired mobile, 401 firmware should also work, but no Wi-Fi calling (you should confirm this because I'm really not sure). If you're Verizon or Sprint, I have no idea, but I think you're sol and have to wait until they release an update. .
Edit: nevermind about carrier stuff. Didn't see that you have dev edition. 401 firmware should all work.

I'm not in the US, but europe. I've bought the phone through HTC US and that's why i'm on 617.
Regarding the MID, it is only because it is listed as a step here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-one-m9/general/att-developer-edition-ruu-how-to-t3086948
And when you say "flash latest firmware" what do you mean exactly? should I install 1.40 RUU or 1.32.401.17 RUU first? I really want to know Im flashing the right file now that i'm S-OFF.

Gotcha. I didn't understand your desires. I thought you were basically asking how to upgrade your firmware and flash a rom. Probably you should ask in that thread and maybe clsA or someone else in that thread can give you specific advise. I assume you're looking to convert to stock 401/0PJA10000 and receive official otas?
This might help you as well.. its an A,B, C ... guide
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-htc-one-m9-to-stock/
From what Im aware, I thought Sunshine 3.17 only supports 501... arent we on 502?
Thanks guys I followed the guide from clsA and it worked perfectly. :good:
Yup! If you have a GSM M-9 than it's easy as pie! S-OFF, Super CID, Flash Firmware, Flash Rom! BAM! DONE!
Hi ,
I have HTC 10 Europe with rom version 1.95.401.4
I tring to flash on my HTC 10 another firmware ,stock U.S firmware from HTC sources,(just want to get most updates fast)
I have been noticed that i can not change firmware beetween regions .
There is way to flash U.S Unlocked/Developer firmware on my device?
if so how can i do that ?
Thanks
Search for the de-branding thread for instructions. Need to purchase s-off for 25$ to do it.
Basically you need to be S-OFF. That is the only way to do it, even then it can be a pain in the ass. If the reason you're doing it is to try and update to Nougat, you're better off just waiting for it tbh. The ROMS for US will be specific for the carriers and types of radios they use over there. Europe will have differences and it may create problems for you (unless you are already in the US and for some reason aquired a non-US phone). There may even be small hardware diffferences between model numbers (US is 2PS65000 I believe, Europe is 2PS620000). I am S-OFF, fully stock, de-branded, unlocked, and have HTC WWE CID (HTC__001) after changing it from my carrier previously (H3G__001).
It also goes without saying, US doesnt always get updates first.

Thoght it will be easy .
I will wait for the offical update ....
I currently have a customer who has HTC One M9 at my house and it is the AT&T variant. They have it carrier unlocked so that it works on the T-Mobile service provider. Problem is they keep dropping GPS signal so I tried to check what their software version is. It looks like they have software version 5.0. I tried to use the are ruu to update it, but every time it gets into download mode to start loading the file or bootloader mode rather it just tells me that the phone is not the right software. I'm using the AT&T ruu. Is there any reason why this is not working? I also tried the carrier unlocked version but the phone is clearly of AT&T pedigree
Cid and mid needs to be known
Currently running super Sid but previously was AT&T Sid. I can change the SIDS anything I want with Chimera tools. I don't know what the mid is though I'm not even sure what a mid is
Changing the CID without changing the firmware has the same effect as drinking snake oil. In addition the SuperCID prevents the M9 from accepting OTAs. You should take a look at the ReadMe thread. All information you might need are either there or linked in the further reading section of that thread.
I personally don't think that people should use such tools as the one that you mentioned. You don't know what kind of commands the tool is actually using so that you don't have any control about what's happening to the phone. (Not to mention that you don't learn how to fix a problem if the tool fails due to whatever reason.) Most of the features that tool is offering for HTC devices are available for free and don't take longer than a handful of minute if done manually.

If I load the t-mobile cid will it take the tmobile ruu?
CID 11111111
MID OPJA11000
Need this to run on tmobile network. It is an AT&Tb phone
No, changing the CID is not enough since the MID of the T-Mobile US variant isn't the same as the one for the AT&T version. As said before, please read the ReadMe thread. The RUUs are sorted by MID and CID, there, and the conversion guide tells you what to do for converting one version of the M9 to another. Be aware that the US T-Mobile variant RUUs are not the ones at the top of the download section. Those are the ones for T-Mobile Germany and T-Mobile Poland.
I converted it to an AT&T unlocked
