While the RAM fix helps, I'm sure there are better ways to improve memory management.
Has anyone tried adjusting the minfree settings yet?

I'm running stock with a few tweaks and I'm noticing that most of my classic console emulators run like crap with either poor frame-rates or choppy sound. On my S2 and OneX they all ran fine. Anyone else experiencing this? Would think these would run fine on the S3 due to its cpu power...
Ps also have and issue with Max Payne Mobile not displaying the controls.

Download a cpu app such as system tuner or SetCPU and whenever you are playing your game, switch the governor to "performance".

I would think ondemand profile would be enough, but especially for snes...

Yeah well performances insures that your cpu stays at max all the time, so your gameplay won't lag as much.
If you really want to heighten your gaming experience, flash any kernel such as Zaventh as they can clock up to 1812mhz!

Try going into Settings > Developer Options and change the setting for Force GPU Rendering. Reboot and try it again.
Not all GS3's are able to handle overclocking to 1.8ghz. Try lowering your clock speeds if you're using a custom kernel.
Try a different kernel if nothing else is working.
Download CpuSpy from Play Store. It will show you how much time your phone spends at each speed.
For Max Payne, you should probably email the developer about that. He's probably seen it before.

I've read conflicting things about this. Does this option use more battery or does it conserve it?

From my under standing all it does is use more memory. But it does help with performance

So no effect on battery life?
This won't have much affect on almost anything we use due to almost all apps, if not all, already utilize the GPU for rendering so it really won't help us.

If you have the ability depending on your ROM, just disable HW overlays so you utilize the GPU better by only using it for screen compositing.

Ive been trying to set the overclock frequencies on my phone, but they only last for a while then the max freq resets to 1026MHz. Ive tried using AnTuTu CPU Master, No Frills, and Trickster Mod...and they all do the same thing, even when I "Set on boot".
Im using the Tiberius 2.3 Kernel.
Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong??
Thanks.
what kernel governors are you using when settings these frequencies ? performance , ondemand, etc.??? have you tried the 2.4 to see if maybe it will fix that issue . @cl3kerner is always on top of things and his Kernel has been updated so try that see if it works if not try reporting in his thread where he would be more than happy to help you
Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried 2.4 just yet, only saw 2.3 when I downloaded it yesterday actually, will look again.
The last configuration I was trying was samsung/row , but all configurations seem to do the same. Perhaps there are some residual files from a previous kernel which is causing this? If so, is there anything I could do to properly clean it out?
Thanks
OK tried 2.4 and getting the same results.

So Cl3Kener helped me solve this. Turned out it was the power saving feature that was limiting the processor speed, as well as battery saver pro. Worth a note I guess if anyone else experiences this issue.

I was wonder what settings should be used on the following for best performance. These are in the developer options :
Force gpu rendering
Turn on 4X MSAA(pretty sure e this needs to be off for performance)

Hi all,
Anyone else tried this game? I'm experiencing a fair bit of lag especially on maxed settings.
Running AR HD 7, stock Rom, playing in performance mode with background apps cleared.
Bit disheartening to see lag on a flagship device, but I'm assuming it's most likely **** optimisation with the game.
Running Dalvik, 4x msaa turned off.
I've even got seeder installed.

Install Elemental Kernel and clock it to 2.5/2.6 (don't go higher if you don't want your phone to explode) Download TricksterMod to tweak the cpu/gpu...

Done as you said.
Any tips on how to setup trickster? Increase in performance.
Unfortunately I can't complete antutu beyond 2.4ghz.
Any tips on that front? I'm no stranger to overclocking pc's, I guess I could try a slight overvolt, if so, what's the general consensus of a safe vmax?
