[Q] Difficulties Upgrading to Lollipop

Hi, first of all I want to say that I am relatively new to android and therefore only have a basic understanding of everything. My desire EYE is currently on 4.4.4 rooted and have been having problems upgrading it to 5.0, I know I have to unroot and return to stock in order to be able to flash the stock recovery and be able to then flash lollipop on there. Problem is whenever I flash one of the stock 4.4.4's found on here superuser installer is still there (even when I tell to TWRP to not install it) and when I got to the bootloader is still says that the software is Modified so am still unable to flash the stock recovery and get lollipop.
Can anybody help shed some light on this problem and possibly help me fix it?
Hi there,
I have found I was able to update using the procedure written in this topic. Could you see if that helps you?

Thanks for your reply but have already tried this and when I tried booting into the recovery menu it gave me the red triangle because I have modified system partition, and all my efforts so far to change it to official have so far been unsuccessful
In fact tried it again and it worked this time, however when I try and download the update on my phone a message pop's up saying my phone can't be updated because the software is modified and not official HTC firmware

[Q] My nexus 7 its crazy and getting error updating.

Hi, i have some kind of problem with my nexus 7 2013.. I already have lollipop 5.1.1 official on my tablet and have root and unlocked bootloader (root with king root, yes it works and is rooted.. And bootloader unlocked with boot unlocker.. I know you might think that this are not the best way of rooting or unloking the bootloader but it worked for me and im happy) and since yesterday the tablet keeps telling me to update via OTA the 5.1.1 update witch i already have..i press update to install it as normal, it reboot as normal too and when it shows me the parte where it suppose to be installing the update (you know, with the android with the chest open part) the only thing that says is "error" it doesn't install anything..i did this like 3 times now and every one of them says error.. The annoying part is that it keeps showing me the notification to update it..so any solutions? Thanks!
Sorry for bad english blah blah...
You can't take ota updates if you modify system files, you did that with root. Don't know why it's showing you 5.1.1 when you already have it.
Just flash the factory image with fastboot (probably no need to wipe, just flash boot.img and system.img and format cache).
That should fix the problem. It will also remove root. I'd recommend not using that king root **** but whatever. Probably better to just flash the su zip in twrp or use CF-Auto-Root.
When the next update comes remember you won't be able to take the ota. But that doesn't matter since google posts factory images and all you need to do is flash it with fastboot, then root again.

G928a drk fix after updating to marshmallow

hello guys,
recently i was trying to update my phone from android 5.1.1 to 6.0.1, i have a problem with my phone aparently the one who sold me the phone changed the imei and when i update my phone got stuck on the android system recovery screen and at the bottom of the screen i had a message about "DRM FAILED CHECK YOUR DRK FIRST".
well after a few days of investigation i found a solution that i would like to share, since i havent found any other thread about fixing this phone directly.
ok instructions:
- Download the stock rom 5.1.1
link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-...-edge-plus-t3194607/post66036193#post66036193)
- Flash a Custom Kernel
link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...t/g920a-g925a-g928a-kernel-auto-root-t3329792).
like you see for this you have to downgrade to 5.1.1 but in my opinion is better than have the phone not working at all.
Any question do not hesitate to ask.

Help!!! dm-verity verification failed need to check drk first

try to dowgrade from nougat to marshmallow, according method in detail, and at the end of the flash in the recovery "dm-verity verification failed to check drk first" any solution?
SOLUTION:
SOLUTION: ROOT AGAIN
So im not entirely sure what solution root again is all about. But my story starts here. I work in IT for a company that issues phones out to all employees, and we have 100s, I was recently contracted by IT to do some FRP Bypass, and have been successful until I tried to walk someone doing this to an S7 Active, and they failed repeatedly just in trying to restore the phone with ODIN. They mailed me the phone, and now I have the dm-verity error DRK not installed. I have tried everything I can think of (do not have access to any box or key) so I tried rooting the phone. I have tried both the 6.0.1 and 7.0 roots. Most recently the 7.0, i can flash the eng kernel but it does not boot. Occasionally I can get to the setup screen, but mostly it just sits on the ATT globe or restores to a black screen. I can't actually set the phone up. It is currently FRP locked but I'm not worred about that for now. Any help is appreciated, I would settle for a complete restore to stock, but all FW I have tried (BL2) fails to boot do to DRK.
what firmware was it on ? which have you tried ?..
are you using the princecomsy modified Odin ?
have you tried the qd4 from my thread ?

I have tried every fw I can find on bl2 including the qd4 from your thread. I have tried both official and prince Odin. All to the same results. Right now I believe the device is on pi2 with the 6.0.1 eng AP. That is the only way I can boot the os. The 7.0 eng AP bootloops.
I have successfully rooted my 930a multiple times and many other devices so I am experienced. Not that it matters but I was also able to turn the FRP lock off using the eng AP.
Edit... Obviously I am using 6.0.1 eng with matching fw and tried the 7.0eng with qd4. I can Odin any fw that is on BL2 successfully but without the eng AP nothing will fully boot. And doing 100% stock Odin reflashes does not fix drk
Any final thoughts?
Edit... I shipped the phone back to my company, (it wasn't a personal device). And told them it needed to stay on 6.0 eng to function. And advised they dia it.
I have some proplem with Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920VZMA , after flash rom DQD1 has loop boot error "dm-verity error …… failed code : 0x002" Please help.

Repairing damaged recovery partition on Huawei Y560-U02 - Solved

I watched a few videos on YouTube on how to upgrade the Android O/S but none of them mentioned that it needs to unlock the bootloader 1st.
So before I found out that I need to unlock it I tried installing ROM before I knew that.
The phone came with Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and there is an official Lollipop for it that I want to install.
The device is rooted with Kingroot.
I tried the installations two times and the phone still works but I can no longer boot into recovery mode or fastboot mode. It just hangs and then I need to remove the battery to get it to work again.
I just want to restore it back to what it was before and then I will work on unlocking the bootloader.
I prefer to use tools that are free of cost.
Issue has been resolved.
I flashed the device with a pac file using SPD upgrade tool and now all is back to default.

Can you please tell me where I can find the "pac file" and "SPD upgrade tool"?

You meant un-official, right?
Sorry for the delay. I check the linked email once per month.
Do you still need help on this?
I thought that it was official Lollipop. But it does not exist for this phone.
Yes I can help you get it to what ever you need but it is not easy if you want to do more than just resorted it back to default.
I will tell you more if you still need it.
