Some phones exhibit choppy scrolling, especially when navigating long web pages when multiple apps are running in the background. Rate this thread to express how you smooth scrolling feels on the OnePlus 3 under such conditions. A higher rating indicates that scrolling is always buttery smooth, even when you're reading a 10,000 word article on "how to kiss a girl".
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Butter smooth to say the least! I never really experience any stutter.
The only place I've experienced stutter is in Google Inbox, when opening a message; from my understanding that's more Google's fault.

Got scrolling lag rarely only when browsing, not in any other app. This is browsers fault, so i don't count it as a minus.
Great
Never an issue with scrolling, whether running a stock/ rooted stock/ or a custom rom. Simply amazing.

I have this problem too, but it's really noticeable in Google Play store, like little jumps/stutters when i scroll keeping my finger on the screen, touching it (like moving the screen up or down, in "medium" speed)
Could you please check if this happens to you too? i'm worried i might have some touch issue

Thanks! is it normal if it happens in almost all the apps? like the Gallery app (oneplus stock one), as i said, you notice it if you hold your finger on the screen while scrolling, and don't release it

Thank you so much buddy, i'm glad to hear that i don't have a hardware issue or something, as you say it's noticeable in the Google Play store and in Chrome (as shown in the video) and also in other apps (like the gallery) but it's minimal in those, that's why i was worried
In other thread some users said that Nougat beta is way smoother, i hope that's the case =) i'll be waiting for OTA then

I'm wondering if the touch latency issue of OP3/T might be related, i know it's not the same thing, not the direct cause, but it might have something to do with it
Thanks again
I got the same and noticed when i open the top menu in e.g. play store with two fingers and then scroll again it is smooth until i close the app again. It has something to do with a failure in vsync. But i didn't found a solution.

Exactly same with me. Great phone.
I experience lagginess on chrome and chrome like browsers like kiwi and brave when scrolling through Google search results! The lag is lesser on lighter browsers like Via. It's so weird. Does any one else experience this?
And I've some choppiness on Google maps.

You interact with chrome on your desktop with chrome for your phone to play a fun little mini game. Any you can play with friends whore can see your computer screen. I was pretty impressed with it.
Just tried it and it feels a bit laggy and not as quick as stock version. Opening a page I get a slight out of focus just before page loads. Revert back and all is good.

Agreed. Performance seems worse to me and the rendering engine seems broken. Everything is blurry as hell. Made my 720x1280 screen look like 480x800. Reverted back to the previous version of Chrome.

Pretty much my experience - scrolling isn't as smooth as on the AOSP browser, and the text is blurry. They should just call the old stock browser Chrome and be done with it.

I had the very same issue. I discovered my fingerprint scanner didn't work and no one could hear me during phone calls. I also had what i thought was high battery usage (probably a bad fingerprint module). I exchanged mine for a new one, and that one works perfectly. Hope this helps.
I had that problem when I went to art runtime but switched back to dalvik and perfectly fine. Even on art my phone would turn on the screen for odd reasons and find myself calling someone but not even an issue on dalvik.

yea sorry to tell you but you def got a defective device... this phone is the smoothest and fastest device I have ever experienced... go get a new one before it is too late!
Everything has been pretty smooth for me. Only thing is the delay when using the recent apps button.
Wipe first then post..
Wipe first and then post. Being a new phone I really didn't think a wipe would help. After resetting it appears to work correctly the typing lag is gone and scrolling seems to transition fluidly. I'll play the rest of the day and see if it reverts or stays like this.
So to the developers. . What on a fresh , new phone would cause it to act laggy ? And how would a data reset correct it? We are not flashing roms, and the os is untouched during a factory reset.. it's not like I Odined the system over to replace a corrupt system file. Any thoughts ?
Mine works fine. Disabled a bunch of apps and slapped apex launcher on it. So far I'm happy just wishing for root still.

Yep, mine has froze and reboot issue, I called VZ and they you should get it in 2 days. They will put the charge on your account (no need for credit card), once received the new device, just ship back the old one and they will credit back 312$ to your account. You must call VZ technical support, not customer service. Tech support has the power to do anything with your phone. Good luck!
The only time I've come across stuttering/lag is playing Sky Force 2014. This game will just not play smoothly on the Note 4. It's very fluid on the S5 however. Maybe it's the upgrade in resolution. I don't know.
Getting ridiculous lag in Hangouts and there is a bit of delay on the recent apps.
I chalk it up to Hangouts being crappy and Samsung being lazy with the recent apps impelentation.. everything else is butter.
Well here is the weird part about mine, it was lag free until i tried flashing a rom. N910w8 model. Then went to tri finger scanner and the app dont launch i get an error, just my luck

Yep so i got the notification this morning on my un-rooted s6. Since i have a poor signal i decided to update and see if my signal will improve. Will see how it goes as my day wears on...
Maybe it's placebo, but it does seem to help with scrolling and touch screen responsiveness. Since I purchased this phone, that has been a sore spot for me, especially coming from the M8 which is incredibly smooth and responsive.
Also this update adds a new app, Samsung+. Most of you will disable this like I did.
I checked for the update manually and got it first try.
just curious, does this fix the voicemail bug? It's showing I have 2 voicemails, but when I call voicemail there is nothing there.
I've checked with the Sprint VoiceMail app, and by calling and there are no messages.

Heck that has been happening ever since I got the phone. Terrible multitasking, RAM management, jumpy scrolling right out of the box. I've been terribly disappointed with this phone.
With that said, 5.1.1 update has made things a little smoother on my phone. Battery is still crap and RAM is still jacked, but it does seem a little smoother.
The worst part is seeing the folks in the unified development forum singing the praises for the xstereolite ROM and how good it is on battery, knowing us Sprint users are on the outside looking in.
I am also disappointed 5.1.1 didn't fix the glaring issues with this phone. The 2 new Nexus' are shaping up to be killer. Might have to get y first ever sock Android phone soon if Sammy doesn't get their shizzz together..

Hello. I use google translate so may errors in the sentences. So the problem is that as the system is not running fluently that I notice tiny entanglement applications, games fps dropped out. And I want to know if this is a hardware failure or android system is the problem. Hearthstone for example, is quite weak and my brother goes to Sony Xperia Z 3 device in three runs much better in other games as well.

Wat?
This would depend on what the symptoms are if your slowdowns are happening in only one app, I'd guess it's not optimized for the Snapdragon 820, or the compiler screwed up when installing the app. If they're system wide, my guess would be either a memory leak or a background app that's misbehaving. If after rebooting the phone it's still slow it could be hardware, but it's more likely that it's a bad batch of code in the cache...
Basically, we need details. What apps are slow? What software are you running? Is your phones bootloader unlocked? Or is it completely S-Off? When is it slowest? Does rebooting help anything?

I will see what I can do to help. What browser are you using, and is it slow on every page? Or just the ones that are media rich?
Also, have you tried a factory reset?
... OH, and have you ever updated the firmware?
Something I'd suggest is downloading AnTuTu Benchmark and 3D Mark, run their tests and post the results or screenshots here. Also, we need to know if they were run after a fresh reboot or not. It makes a pretty big difference.
Just to make sure I understand what you're saying on point 4... would this rewrite of point four be accurate?

Very strange... With those scores, you shouldn't have any lag at all...
Does the lag occur after a reboot as well?
If i get a chance later, I'll post my scores as well. I don't have any lag that I can see...

It comes up after a reboot. This will be a software problem. Because I have been told that due to battery's protection is doing something. And that would be the solution to everything.

I've just got my xperia yesterday and have now noticed in Facebook when I'm scrolling down my feed when I see a video it's very sharp and pixely. It's driving me mental.. In the YouTube app all the videos I watch are very sharp/pixelated, lower the quality the worse it gets but in full HD 720p 1080p it still looks bad but it's not pixely it's just very sharp.. Dont know how to post pics to show you. I've went through the phones screen setting and tried everything but it's still pixely and sharp it's driving me insane.. Anyone else have the same problem?
It it just me having this problem? Is anyone else having this problem?
I know what you mean. It's a big screen, but I think the PPI is not that high. I also took out an Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom with the Xperia so I could compare both, and the Asus' screen is miles ahead in video and graphics quality. That being said, the Xperia's shine is in it's .5 inch larger screen.

Didn't noticed. For me works great. Of course depends on uploaded film or photo quality

I think you overreacting. On smaller TV everything looks better too. On YouTube HQ videos looks normally. I don't speak about 360p, cause it looks horrible even on my XZ.
Sorry I'm asking, but are you tried to change image enhancement and display size?

I'm not. I was just so excited for the phone to come out to only find that what ever format of video being played looks horrid. I've tried every setting but still any video I watch looks like something from 2004. I've replaced this phone 3 times now and same issue.

I'm really trying to catch similiar cutscene
This is how it looks without image enhancement and smallest screen size,
https://ibb.co/i7Liga
and this is in super-vivid mode and (also) smallest screen size
https://ibb.co/eqeb1a
so maybe try some settings one more time (take three deep breath). I fully understand your excitement
I feel like an idiot haha. I turned off image inchancement and tried watching videos and they look way better. Tried super vivid and they looked horrid. Turned off image inchancement and everything looks beautiful thanks ..

Sometimes the simplest solutions lead to the best results I'm glad i can help.
The issue we're experiencing on this phone with video playback is flash in browser.
Tried with Chrome, Opera, lightning browser, same issue. In-app video playback is decent. Maybe not as good as other Android phones, but still good enough to enjoy.
Flash just doesn't deliver a good experience on this phone. The XA1 Ultra is otherwise nice and good value, just too bad it doesn't deliver good video playback in flash. Probably not a big deal, as flash will hopefully soon be a thing of the past. Haven't tested HTML5 in browser yet.
I see this phone can be rooted, so a custom ROM would probably fix this, but no idea what the camera compatibility would be with custom ROM's on this handset.
On a side note, didn't like the UI of the stock Album app, so installed ported Moto G4 gallery via APK.
Same here. Any fix? Ridicolous happening in Facebook Instagram ecc
It's an easy fix guys. Just turn off image enchancement in display settings
It's off for me. No vivid no enhancement
