I'm getting my galazy s6 edge plus today and want to root. I'ts been a while since i did a root (s4) and i'm not quite sure which files to use. I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee to someone to choose the files to download so I can get hotspot working on my phone. Anyone intersted? PM me.

Hi all
Please help ansswering any or all of the following:
1- can you tether with verizon without rooting the phone, just by somehow
creating new access point?
2- do you need to root in order to tether?
3- Will verizon find out you are tethering without the tethering plan and charge you for it?
i will bank everything that it is blocked !
We don't know yet how they will handle it because Verizon has never had a Nexus device. Sprint and AT&T block it, T-Mobile does not. On carriers where it is blocked, it has always been rather easily circumvented.

This is what people are doing to get unlimited.

I had unlimited on my one line but added the gf so i can get the nexus. Not sure how long this will last.

I believe you either need root, or one of the various apps like PDANet that might or might not work without root.
As far as being caught... easiest thing to do is not be stupid. If you've averaged 4GB/Month and then suddenly spike to 20 they'll probably suspect something. I tether with my rooted Incredible often enough, but I don't download torrents or anything... mainly MUDs or simply the want of a larger/more powerful means of web browsing.
Tapatalk Pro Sig. Yep, boring.
Not sure if this is correct place to ask, if not please forgive. Was wondering if anyone currently with T Mobile used their ETF pay off program? If so, did anyone trade in a rooted/ unlocked bootloader phone? Was there any problem? Do they even pay attention? Have a Note 2 currently with Verizon unlocked bootloader and wanting T Mobile. Any light she'd Is appreciated.

no question ask just return the phone in working condition
Yeah, they don't really care whether or not you are rooted or have an unlocked bootloader, all they check is that it turns on and works
gonna agree, they just care the phone turns on. That's LITERALLY the only check they did with mine before they did the instant trade in.
Hey guys. Verizon has totally messed up my bill now I am without service cause they didn't fix what was needed to be fixed from their part on my bill so it has gotten to high to pay. I'm stuck trying to figure out what to do. I don't want to sell this note 4 but it looks like I'm without an option. I do want to go to straight talk but I can't bring this phone over to it unless it's unlocked and they won't give me the code cause of my bill. What are my options here. Any help is appreciated.

Cant really help w/ situation without more info.
You could always just buy a cheap unlocked phone online or get a prepaid one.
The note 4 already has an unlocked sim card slot.
I am in love with my Note 4 and don't want to replace it. I have stock AT&T Note 4 unlocked with all the AT&T apps and etc. and would like to enable hotspot without paying extra premium for that service to AT&T. I am travelling overseas this summer having it is a must for connectivity with my laptop. I have explored in following directions!
First rooting phone and then may find hotspot fix after that (not sure if something exists) but running 5.1.1, I don't think there is root available yet for me? I found several posts upon googling that it's not available. Even if I get it rooted, is there concrete solution to hotspot fix? I don't want to downgrade to 5.0.X? and then root as it's just too much hassle!
OR
Easiest fix right now seems I get rid of this phone and get International version (I believe modeled SM-N910H ?) And that should allow me enable hotspot out of box from settings menu? correct?
Also will TMobile version SM-N910T, if I buy unlocked, will it allow me to enable hotspot? Does TMobile put software restrictions like AT&T? I don't want to buy and resale and all that headache!
Please advice!
Thank you
Not a single reply please help!
Only thing I know you can do on the AT&T version is to get a family share plan on your AT&T service. Tethering is included in those plans, then enabled on the phone with the stock app. I use it without problems on mine.
That's all I've got.

I have been searching for a while now and can not find an answer anywhere. I have a Samsung Galaxy s7 Active, a Samsung Galaxy s5, and a Samsung Galaxy Express 3. I have AT&T service with grandfathered Unlimited data. As you all know AT&T will not let you hotspot with the unlimited package.
But SOMEBODY has to have a way around it for one of the three phones I have. Hotspot is my only option for Internet because I live way out in the Styx and I'm not paying the insane prices satellite Internet charges way out here for such a small data package.
If somebody has a way to use my unlimited data package on one of these three phones I will swap my SIM card out whenever I want to hotspot.
Thank you in advance for your help.

As far as the s7 active goes I hear some people on the s7 active root (success) thread saying that the android 7.0 update they found allows you to use the native hotspot without having to root your phone and without having to subscribe to a hotspot plan. Don't know about the other phones as I never had them before.
Thanks I will try that

Hey man I am new to this but trying to learn. How exactly do I download this update? From the play store? Or do I have to have a laptop? Can you please point me in the right direction? I am sorry if this a silly question but like I said I am new
