A few days back the 2 part OTA update for android 6.0 marshmallow was available for my phone. But due to lack of time or opportunities I couldn't start the update. I did the small ~75 MB update but now when I want to do the big ~1.06 GB update that was available before is not showing anymore. When i tap software update it shows "Your phone is up to date". But it is still android 5.0.2. Please help!!!

I did not change anything. The update was available to me even 2 days back. But now its no where to be found. Can there be issue with the update server or something? Cause in my experience a phone cant malfunction by itself.

Last time I received a LG software update it finally installed by itself and soft bricked my phone. I was rooted unlocked running CWM. Now I am just rooted and received LG's software update and I can't get rid of it. Is there a way to remove this software update altogether and not have it return? I can just postpone it for four hours.... what can I do?
Thanks...
rename lg software update in system/apps
freeze it with tibu
unistall it using rom manager.
Since you are rooted there are plenty things you can do to remove it.
Although maybe (just maybe) you're the first to get the 4.2 update..

When I go to check the software update it says "ATT software update". I unlocked my HoX and am using it with T-Mobile. When ever I click check for update. It just spins and nothing happens. (No prompts)
Any ideas? Last time I had to update via laptop to 4.1.1 as the attached software check didn't do anything.

Mine didn't even have a sim card in it and I got the update.

Genuine question - is it the LTE HTC One X if it was on AT&T? If so, that would be supported here.
Is there stock rom and stock recovery on your phone? If it is..Then try factory reset and then try software update..If that doesn't work restore a backup or use RUU

Hi everyone, i am using Sprint G2 (Refurbished, without root) in Pakistan, when i bought this phone and booted first time, after a few hours my device notified me for software update, i accept to download it and after downloading installed successfully, my software has changed into ls980ZVE, that updates was approx 650 Mbs, but that was modifying updates for Kitkat, so it means my phone can get OTA updates by their developers, but i feel really unlucky when i saw my friends Sprint G2 updated with 5.0.2 lollipop ? i asked him that is this device rooted and installed custom Rom? He denied and said i got OTA lollipop update for lollipop and installed.. now i am so worried why my device doesn't get lollipop yet?? Same phone, same carrier unlocked, same models.. so what is the matter with me??? ?
Kindly help me to resolve this issue.. thanks in advance ?

I just tried to update via downloading and then letting the phone install it, but it just rebooted me into recovery and when I clicked reboot and the phone turned back on, it said the update was corrupted.
Or do I not need to worry about OTA's anymore? Going to be flashing CM13 whenever it becomes available anyway.
Interested in the response to this, my strategy will be to stay stock for a week or two to get OTA updates, then root when good custom rom is available, on the assumption the dev will update rom with OTA updates. I'm new to HTC so please let me know if this approach is flawed

Hello guys
You can't use OTA's when you change the original recovery. You need to reflash it to HTC version to complete the update.
All explanations can be find there :

Haha, One of the best roms you will ever see is already released, Leedroid, don't wait for OTA's or you'll grow old. Just unlock and flash, soff and firmware update later lol.

Hi guys I'm having same problem. I rooted my HTC10 and now I can't install official updates. My question is: it's really a problem that? Never Upgrading anymore my smartphone I'm going to loose something important?
And when this device will be upgraded to Android N what happens?
Rooting it I blocked forever my device? Never more official updates?
Please let me know

It is a problem you should always be up to date with your firmware. This problem can be resolved BY flashing the RUU for your device.
Excuse me yldlj, what RUU means?

Thank you CoCrop18 for your post.
I read links and now I've an answer for the community:
Someone is considering to have a workaround that allow to install OTA updates (original or modified by community) in rooted htc10?
Or can we stress HTC to release OTA for rooted devices too because they allow us officially to root it?
Hello guys. I've rooted my phone using King-Root, One Click method. Now, I need my phone to be unrooted, because I want to upgrade OS version through the official system upgrade option. Will flashing stock rom unroot my phone? Please guide me.

I'm getting a message that says 'Can't check for updates while in roaming network. Connect to wifi network.' As I can't connect to a wifi right now, am unable to capture the screenshot of the software update notification. My current OS version is 5.1.1 and I'm getting an update notification for OS v6.
Back to my topic, is there a way to unroot the phone? It would really help me.

Are you sure its v6? Do you have K420DS (Indian) version. You can remove root in the Kingoroot App or Root manager app. Check that once. A better thing would be if you take a screenshot we can confirm it with other users of K420DS.

It's a Software Update. I have unrooted my phone using SuperSU. Though I have confirmed the unroot using Root-Cheker, the second picture is of the error I got while installing the update -
What options do I have now?

Yes, it's not marshmallow!! Just a simple bug fix update. I rooted my phone in January, so I couldn't install this update. This update notification is long due for me (kinda forgot what it was exactly, hence the misunderstanding)
But still, my issue isn't solved. You got any clue why am I getting this error? Will re-rooting my phone properly and un-rooting again solve it?

Since your system is modified .i.e. you have "root" access, OTA updates don't work.
