Is anybody using Mokee over here?
If I'm not wrong, in the past the rom was CM based. However, now it seems to be AOSP based.
What can you comment on its quality and community support?
Thx

Can you tell us in a few words, what bugs have you mentioned while using this ROM?
On official CM 12.1 black screen bug is very annoying, everything else is quite good.

Sorry , because I am a Vietnamese , so my english is not perfect
Well, I decided to test the rom. Up to now I only noticed the following :
When I set Open Camera to HDR, after about 5 seconds the screen goes black and I found no way to get back at it without rebooting. Maybe, that's what @ShadySquirrel was working on before his device had USB problems.
On both Bliss and Slim, if you reboot while on LTE, when you get back at the home screen you'll notice you have no signal. Thus, the best way is changing to 3G before rebooting, and then changing again to LTE after the phone has restarted.
Mokee still has this same problem. However, up to now, it seems to be more stable.
For the rest, I'd say it's pretty smooth. No screen glitches whatsoever.
It has most feature Slim does, but what I miss is more about some design details that I eventually could try to request them later...
I really recommend moving to it as it seems like it has been developed and tested up to the last release. So, you'll surely find a level of stability we didn't have on lollipop.

If that happens in other apps, you have your culprit: PCC commit for kernel/updates for LiveDisplay in device tree.

I was until some days ago. But I had problems with the screen going black in some inconvenient moments. For example when I was driving somewhere I didn't know very well and had to reboot to get back with waze.
Thus, I went back to bliss but then I had sudden reboots that had the same effects as black screens while I was driving.
Well, to wrap up I'd recommend Mokee as long as your needs won't be much affected if a reboot is needed. It really is a smooth rom.
Oh, I didn't test bluetooth...
Anyway, I am posting to their g+ community right now pointing at that bug. Maybe they can do something about it.
BTW, if anybody decides to test Vanir, please share the experience.
Since yesterday I've decided to try the latest wild kernel with mokee again.
Up to now no black screens.
If something else happens I'll report back.
hello g0at1 i dont know if you been using an lg optimus g pro for a long time but i have buts its like all roms for the e980 have flashes for black screen and i wonder if does the mokee for the e980 also causes ur screen to get hot too cuz for my lg e980 screen gets hot near the home button from the different roms such as carbon rom which is the current rom im using and other roms such as cynogenmod and resurrection remix and please reply quickly becuz im so frustrated with this phone for a while now even though i have a big battery for it for 9300mah
Hey!
I have my G Pro since 2013.
Different from other roms, Mokee doesn't overheat. Even if you don't use it with wild kernel. However, with wild kernel I have had no black screens in a week.
Then, you should try it.
Well, I'm back to report that although I didn't have black screens in two weeks, I did have some screen flickering and they would only go away after a reboot.
I now think they've been blind building Mokee for our device for some time. Thus, I'm back at slim following @ShadySquirrel advice to try different governors in order to avoid rebooting.
I'm using Intelimm right now. Let's see if it'll reboot some time.
Previously I had tried Inteliactive and intelidemand... Both rebooted. Then, I checked kmsg and I did not find any dsp subsystem error.
As of right now I'm convinced that lg ogp doesn't react too well with the lollipop, regardless what flavor of rom. If it's not one problem, then it's another. As much I love this device, I really don't think it can be a stable device running anything more than the kitkat. Because with the lollipop, all the issues were never really fixed. Instead, they're merely are patched over, as if they're "duct taped" together to keep from falling apart. Which can't hide any of the problems for long. So as much as I hate to admit and tell you, no matter what combo you try, there is no way to make this device run well, while it's running any of the lollipop rom.

I went back to SlimLP. Only this time I'm using adaptative governor.
Also, I'm using Kernel Adiutor v2.0 and LMK set to aggressive.
I noticed that in my device this combination worked well.
After that, no more random reboots.
But I have it pretty clear, my next phone will be a nexus again...
Just don't know yet if I'll opt for the 6P or nexus 2016...

Damn, sorry about that.... Thanks for the heads up though, I'll update the op with this info until its fixed.
@Haze028
This rom is amazing. I did get the green demigod kernel panic screen on first boot. I replaced the kernel with the boot.img from Houstonn's 4/2/2013 modded Rootbox, and ran it for about 6 hours without a kernel panic. I did the same thing with your AOKP, and have not seen one kernel panic in 4 days, and can run benchmarks just fine. I am back to running this set up for now due to the rotation issue in Liquid, but once this is fixed I will be back.
Also, I did want to report that Torch is not working on Liquid. This is after a fullwipe. I fixed this by swapping the Torch.apk from Rootbox in the zip and reflashing. I tried copying it to System/App while running the rom, but it would not install, it would just delete Torch all together. I had to add it to your zip before flashing for it to work.
Again, thank you for this amazing rom.
It looks so good,thanks.

I haven't yet had a kernel panic, 11 hours in now. Though I had one case, about 3 hours ago, where the screen would not wake up and I had to power it down and reboot. It has been fine since then.
I can confirm the lack of torch, I'll add that to the OP as well untill I get it resolved. I'll try to work on some things tonight and see about getting another build out soon.
Thanks for the info though, I'll see what I can do.

Well, as you know, I can't turn the NFC off. One more thing is that when I used wifi to connect to the Internet, every thing is ok, but when I use 3G+ to surf the Internet, I found that battery indicator reduced very quickly( quicker than normal even it declined 2-3% in a few times).
And in Performance, I set CPU at min: 384 and max:810 but when I checked, I saw that CPU still run at 1026(I already checked "set on boot"). I don't know if it it an error or not.

You should be able to turn off NFC, if it is sitting greyed out when you unchecked it reboot and try again... Works fine for me.
The frequency thing is known.... I've noticed however using fauxclock it stays down at 384 or whatever it is. Fauxclock is a paid app though so i cant include it. Ill look into an alternate app to use which works better and update when i find it
Edit: as for the internet, I haven't noticed yet...switched back to AOKP, testing the linaro tool chain build. Liquid still is full of issues..... Had trouble building, pretty much hack jobed it through as I didn't have too much time to play.
Just a quick question for everybody! I've been using Liquid Nitro for a while now, but I'm getting a bit frustrated with the occasional spontaneous resets, and how slow it is. What does everyone here use, and what do you think is the best in terms of stability and speed?
Currently I am using sphinx rom. It is snappy ,good on battery, jelly bean. Be sure to apply both patches. I have found the kitkat to be unstable.

So it's fast, and works with my p930. Is it stable for you (no random restarts?)
It is better then CM, but it still has random reboots. I did not find the reboots to occur as frequently as CM
Nz
So far, after changing the default language from Russian, I am finding Sphinx to be a lot faster and smoother than liquid nitro, though that might be because I don't have all my apps loaded yet. I also just experienced my first random reset (not even 6 hours! not looking good,) which put my phone into a boot loop (it gets to the lock screen, give a "system UI has crashed" error, and reboots,) that I fixed by pulling the battery.
AND SPEAKING OF THE BATTERY my phone now thinks my battery is at ~ %1-%5 power (it was at about %60 when I installed the ROM,) and is constantly telling me to plug it in, and the phone refuses to charge (it won't charge with any cable or wall adapter I have, and won't even recognize when I plug it into a computer.)
In short: lots of problems, but if I can fix them, I will probably keep sphinx.
*Edit: I just went and wiped everything (including battery information) in CWM and installed the "official unofficial" ROM from the same post. It seems so far to be decent (and it's charging the battery!) It's a bit laggy (like the stock ROM, but not as bad a Liquid Nitro got for me.) Tomorrow I will do the full data wipe again (including the battery info) and re-install sphinx to see if it helps.
In my P930, I use the last PAC-ROM, it gets me stability, battery friendly, smooth, it doest get lagged.
It's fully customizable, I recommend it.
The last version I installed is the nightly of 2014-03-28 or so.

Well, it's going (somewhat) well. With the stable release, I haven't had to restart yet, but there are still problems: mainly that the home button doesn't work. along with that, the "cLock" app keeps crashing, and gapps looks like it wasn't installed properly (no gapps except gmail are there, and it doesn't work.) Did you experience any of this with the nightly build you use?
I made doubly sure I installed the correct gapps zip, could it be I have an old version of CWM that's messing it up? I have CWM v6.0.1.5
Installl the gapps core only.
I didn't have any problems with the clock.

gapps core? I installed the gapps they linked to in the official thread.
I followed their instructions as well: factory reset, flash ROM, flash gapps, reboot.
Never mind! I installed the nightly you said you use (03/29/2014) and it works! I'm loving kitkat. It's being a bit slow right now, but I'm hoping that's because the phone's been downloading the files for GTA 3 since I installed the ROM (and linked my google account) earlier today.
hey, I don't know what is going on, but I'm not finding any of these ROM's to be stable at all. They seem to work alright at first, but once I get my apps back, it all goes down the tubes. Even the Pac ROM, which so far has been the MOST stable, is frustrating to use. I found that my music player (PowerAmp) causes it to be a bit more unstable, but both it and the default music player often crash 'android.process.media' and then I have to reboot my phone.
Along with that, randomly, and frequently, when I try to wake my phone up from sleeping with the power button, the screen will just go black, the buttons will stop responding, and I have to pull the battery. This one is particularly frustrating because this morning my phone tried to turn on the screen to play an alarm and the phone locked up!
I've wiped my phone again and haven't installed any apps. Let's see if the problems still happen.

I've had this phone since it came out. From my experience, ICS ROM's are the most stable, followed by JB ROMS, then KitKat ROMs. If you want the best stability, battery, and for daily use go with either stock ICS or one that's based on stock. The only problem with that is that you miss out on any of the new improvements in JB and KitKat. For daily use, non of the KitKat ROMs are stable enough. Currently, I'm running CM 10.1.3 with Wind Kernel 2.6. It's not as stable as ICS stock. I get random locks/restarts about once or twice a week. It does however offer the best compromise in stability and features/improvement over just running ICS ROMs. Specwise, this phone was ahead of the curve when it came out. But battery and performance issues kept this from being a good phone. Because it's not well used, there's very little support and development for this phone.
Hi friends!
I've been around the forums the past few days and noticed several Android 5.0 lollipop roms for our device. I've tried out a few of them and have been very impressed with how good they are. So I'd like to ask you guys, what are your experiences with any of these Lollipop Roms? Is there any you prefer? What are any bugs you've come across? Is there any advice you'd like to give on flashing or using these roms?
I think this could be a great way to gather our thoughts and keep track of how development is going.
Thanks!
I am eagerly waiting to make one of these roms my daily. Flash every nightly of the cm12 and play around for about an hour but then nandroid back. Not that many issues but still seem buggy and things that i use daily like the IR blaster dont work. I find it amazing how fast the devs were able to get us 5.0 roms so quick! And almost fully functional to! Maybe you can list the roms? To my knowledge the only 5.0 roms iv seen are 2 cm12s and a 5.0 pac.

So far I've found Phantomphreak53's CM rom to be the most stable. Only thing not working is video recording which is a common issue amongst all of the lollipop roms. All in all these builds hold up extremely well for Alphas.

Thanks!

I am currently using the CM-12-Unofficial by PhantomPhreak53 and here are my thoughts so far:
I clean flashed the 11/21 build after formatting data (I know this is not required or necessary) and a wipe. With a clean slate, it worked very well with the exception of NFC, double tap to wake, video recording and the resolution was off. Double tap to wake was fixed by editing a file, resolution was fixed with build prop, and I didn't need NFC or video so it was fine.
I dirty flashed the 11/23 build and NFC has been fixed. The video recording still doesn't work and the error "can't connect to camera" pops up after you try. The 11/23 build also fixed double tap to wake, added privacy settings, and fixed the resolution. Some people have noticed battery drain, but I get just about the same I got with stock. I will get about 3-4 hours of SoT with roughly 12-15 hours off the charger. This is all LTE on T-Mobile. Overall, I think 11/23 is good enough for a daily and I am currently using these "nightlies" as my dailies. There are some reports of crashing, but I haven't had any so far.

I was running the Pac Rom build for a few days, but it seems the developer has switched to a nexus 6 and stopped further development. Pac Rom worked extremely well for me, the only issue I ran into was Documents force closing. I switched to the CM12 (11/24) by Phantomphreak53 today. Hopefully it holds up as well as Pac. Phantomphreak53 has been doing an excellent job with updates almost everyday. I'll check in again after spending some more time with this rom. Thanks for the input everybody!
I tried CM12 11/19 and 11/22, but ended up going back to a 4.4.4 rom because of battery life issues (namely NFC service using up my battery), video issues (opening a video in snapchat caused the phone to crash), and some other various instabilities. Is the video issue fixed in 11/24?

It looks like they are working on the video issue, or they changed something because now I don't get a force close but the video freezes and you have to reboot.
As for battery, I would try clean flashing a new ROM, maybe even the 11/25, because I have no misc or NFC battery issues. NFC did show up on the 11/23 rom, but it was very low and I got about the same battery life as I got from CM-11 and stock. Let's see if 11/25 fixes it for good.
EDIT: Scratch that. Taking a video still causes the camera apps to crash. Nothing has changed there.

I'd much rather have the app crash than have to reboot. I guess i'll have to check out 11/25.

I must have done something to cause the reboot. Every time I have tried since it just crashes. I haven't had any reboot issues at all on any of the roms, and I am currently on 11/25. I apologize if my post was confusing.

Things get a bit funky with these roms sometimes. The other day I lost all audio playback on my phone for absolutely no reason. I kept rebooting, but still no sound. I suggest you get everything working as best as you can and make a recovery from it. That way if things get wacky you can just restore and have everything back to how it was.

That's probably a good idea. I have seen some inconsistencies between devices as well. Some people have weird battery drain while others don't, some have problems with AUX and others don't etc. I wonder how much is the ROM, how much was how it was flashed and how much was related to different apps and settings. So far I have had a great experience though, so no complaints here.
I'm guessing none of these lollipop roms have wifi calling?

Go read any single one of the lollipop threads and that question will be answered for you. Literally, any single one of them.
Every other post asks that same question. Gets frustrating even going through the threads anymore. Every other post mentions the video not working too. It even states in the CM12 OP by phantom that the video doesn't work. It always helps to read the entire thread before even flashing the ROM. That way when you flash it and stuff doesn't work you really have no one to blame but yourself. If you use the video camera a lot, just don't flash the ROM. That way when you try and use the video camera and it crashes, you won't go straight back to the thread and complain or mention it doesn't work. The moderators are gonna start going through and clearing all the repeat posts. They shouldn't have to if you just do your research people. That is all.

Sent from my LG-D851 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
No rom not based on t-mobile stock will have wifi calling, it is baked in low level. However, if you have a Google voice number and you integrate it with hangouts you can make a call over data with hangouts, if you're on wifi then boom, wifi calling. Can't be done with your carrier number though.
I've tried all three. Was hesitant to try PhantonPhreak53's build but I finally did and haven't left. Updates have been consistent and this rom has been my daily for about a week now. Not really worried about the video recording. I take Photos on Snapchat majority of the time anyway so I can wait patiently for the video recording fix. I'm just glad to have a stable 5.0 lollipop build.
Looks great
Anyone using these roms with QI charging? Does it still work?
Knocked off my LG-D851
Finally flashed a 5.0 rom and have discovered that QI charging still works, though it feels like it takes longer to charge.

Just got a bit tired of little bugs in the CM13 based roms and thinking about switching back to CM11. The only concern is the lack of security updates after the maintainers abandoned the projects for newer android versions.
Did anyone here try downgrading? Or maybe never upgraded? Is it wise to do so?
Some of my issues with CM13 based roms which have put me off:
Insane lag when reciving calls
Adopting Storage doesn't work half the time
Front Camera crashes
Mobile Data issues
Lock Screen Wallpaper Issue
Music suspend bug
Battery drain Issue
LOL brother. I am still using CM 11 build 14/11/15 with Xcelerate kernel build 4/12/15.
I still used this OS as it gives me atleast 500+mb ram which I require a lot for gaming.
At battery 100%............(with airplane mode on)...wifi on After 3hrs of continuous wifi gaming my battery drops to around 20%.
So I guess battery life is good.......though i haven't activated any sim cards(that would be a different story)
I don't have any voice(call) related problem though. Only bug is HDR. Once a picture is clicked with HDR on, you have to exit camera to click again in HDR mode
I actually need a CM 13 rom which provide such performance.(I was thinking about Slim rom 0.4 by Aniket Lamba)
So if anyone can suggest me better rom then please let me know. For me stability & usability matters more than recent builds.
I always will appreciate any information whether good or bad
I used to like KK as it was last in the line of the Holo interface and it was the only 4.x available for our phone, so I used it for fairly long and didn't switch to LP until MM came around. Along with Xcelerate it was really good: decent battery life, smooth experience and fast charging. But now that I've grown to like the Material interface as well, I've been using MM more often these few months, especially Slim6, which I feel gives the same feel I used to get on KK: stability and smoothness.
KK is still one of my more favourite ROMs, but given that KK is mostly dead by now and there are more developments and features in LP and MM, I think I'll just stick to Slim6.

1) I don't get this
2) I don't use Adoptive Storage, heard it screws with WiFi
3) I don't get this (it has been fixed recently)
4) Depends on ROM
5) GravityBox (for AOSP MM), or this guide (which also works on CM13)
6) Disable MPDecision. Strangely when I downgraded to CM11 I was still getting the bug.
7) Depends on ROM
The issues I had with CM11 were generally the use of Apollo and the HDR issue as stated in the post before mine. And the music bug after downgrading. Apart from those I was happy with it, and I wouldn't mind a single bit to change back to it. I just don't understand the hate regarding KK, especially in the MIUI 8 thread...

Hate towards KK is only because most of the apps are working great in >LP than in KK. If MIUI with LP is given then it can be easily a great choice for armani. MIUI ram issues have sorted out but only thing is standby time(wifi on) is low.

The music bug persisting after the downgrade is what's keeping me back. I, too, don't use Adoptive storage for all the bugs it brings - even on AOSP. But this means I'm running out of space by the end of the month because of necessary evils like WhatsCrap.
The gravitybox mod is good to know, although I don't use xposed, but really is simply a hassle to effectively change your wallpaper - especially when I'm changing them every other week.
I've recently tried disabling MPDecision - the music seems to be playing fine but I can't help but notice sightly degraded performance all around.

Adoptive Storage is a hassle to set up: you need to format your SD card (which meant I had to shift everything out before converting it), and TWRP has no way to read such encrypted storage, so I didn't use it after the first time I tried it. Also you could do with regular housekeeping of your phone's storage; usually I keep WhatsApp images for a year before deleting them (after keeping the important ones and archiving the rest).

Xposed is very helpful, but if you don't want to use it then I won't force you.
Generally in those CM12/13 ROMs if I wanted to switch between lockscreen wallpapers I would leave a couple of those wallpapers in the /data/system/users/0 folder, just renamed to let me know which file is which wallpaper. Whenever I wanted to change them I just renamed them to the proper filename.

You don't have to leave MPDecision off the whole time: just disable it when listening to music, and re-enable it afterward.
Thank you everyone for your valuable comments:good:. It seems I can finally move on to CM 13:fingers-crossed:.(mostly slim6 version)
Note: I don't have music stop bug in CM11 though( may be related to firmware version or kernel. don't know why different people have different bugs:silly

What I think is that the KK firmware/modem we all flashed for CM13 builds has something to do with the music suspend bug. This is probably the reason why downgrading back to CM11/12.1 doesn't seem to fix this issue.
Anyway, seems like I'll just stick with CM13 for now.

Well not really, as the same v7.0.5.0 is used for CM11, 12 and early 13 builds. It's most likely a kernel issue, given that disabling MPDecision fixes it somewhat.

I found the mokeedev site has a custom rom for the Robin. Been using it a few days and it's smooth. https://download.mokeedev.com/?device=ether
Any reboots, camera issues, audio quality including EQ issues, answering or making calls, bluetooth or wifi?
I have been running it about a week. No reboots or issues that I have noticed. Does have the static screen issue like all other roms. I also like that they have included xposed in the rom. I am pleased. I have run all the other roms listed on xda.

When you mention the static screen bug, is that referring to the static that appears for 1/10th of a second upon screen on? That's fixed in the LOS sources, this bug isn't in RR, XenonHD, LOS, OmniROM, AOSPA and very likely more.
It appears resolved on the update they put it yesterday
I tried this ROM but there doesn't seem to be any option to turn off the memory bar in the recents menu. Can anyone also check it? Thanks
Thanks for introducing this ROM. Never heard of them, is it a AOSP build? I mean close to stock? Any screenshots ? Thank you.

well im having a problem with this rom that my phone shuts off and wont turn on unless i unplug the battery and plug it back in. idk if it is this rom or my phone but it only starting happening with this rom flashed. ill test to see if it is the rom but other then that this rom is pretty good.
Edit: it just a glitch the robin has it wasnt this rom.
