T-Mobile backordered - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Not thrilled with the T-Mobile launch and availability of this phone. Now it seems my order is backordered. Anyone else in the same boat or at least have an idea of when they might get them in?

They have always come in slow. When I did inventory for T-Mobile, they would come 2 or 4 at a time once a week. So ridiculous! Check around at other stores.
Oops, I meant that was the m9 and anything HTC. LG is just as bad though

Don't go into the store to get the 10 the employees are useless just order over the phone or T-Mobile website I got mine 2 days

Go to another store or order online or phone

In the entire Denver Metro yesterday there was only one store with the HTC 10 in stock? traded my iPhone 6s in hopefully I won't regret it. Already really disliking that the T-Mobile app can't be removed or even disabled ?

I did order over the phone. I called yesterday and was told it's backordered.

I ordered mine on Sunday and I was told today they were on back order but I just got an email saying it shipped, with a tracking number. Soooooooooooo excited. But check your email.

Converted mine into the US unlocked version, it has no T-Mobile bloat crap and everything still works.

How were you able to get your identifier token? Mine shows it as an invalid command, coming from a Nexus 6P this is new to me.

Thanks, that fixed it. I thought it said don't goto DL mode when reading the HTCDev instructions, so I went into fastboot instead. I wish everyone made things like Google does for unlocking

Yeah they haven't updated the instructions, when they first started that process (m7), there was no download mode.

I think the T-Mobile version is back ordered due to it being so close to the unlocked model, thus being usable on AT&T.
I've already decided if I could get a T-Mobile version from BestBuy I would because there is no guarantee they'll get the unlocked in. Either way, I want this phone and am growing inpatient.

Warranty UK

I have a one x two year contract with Vodafone UK. Correct me if I am wrong but if my phone goes faulty within the contract period is it Vodafones responsibility to repair/replace it. For this reason is it not likely that the boot loader will never be checked for locked/unlocked status, hence it is safe to htcdev unlock

And if they send it back to HTC to be repaired? I read on the Vodafone forums that they did sometimes. Also they will be quite aware of HTCdev unlock. Its a right get out for them to use along with their favourite "water damage" excuse. Ive unlocked mine but i wont send it back if i have a problem, ill use my insurance.
from my experience with the one x and vodaphone staff they wouldnt have a clue one of them told me to to a system reboot and then i would need to connect it to a pc as she had wiped the rom i said oh thanx for the help and hung up not very savy when it comes to the one x defo not

phone support staff are not the same as tech/repair staff. vodafone may even send it to a subcontractor/htc for repair or further tests who would be capable of checking such things

I´ve been reading, how to root, and it says you will lose, alter CID, so that´s an easy way to check if you unlocked the bootloader..
My question is, locking it again and run the RUU will get the original CID back?
And if so htc will not know it´s was unlocked in the first place?
thanks
Only problem is that it will say relocked rather than locked. There was someone who managed to get it back to locked apparently

I just decided to go for it and ditch the warranty. If I bricked the phone, there are loads of ways to fix it on here.
My only worry is I'd bring it to Vodafone and they would notice the CoreDroid custom icons.

Bootloader Unlock

I have a Verizon HTC One that I purchased on the device payment plan. I have searched here and you tube to see if I can unlock the bootloader to install custom roms. I know it has the old bootloader version of 1.54. Any help will be great before my return Window closes.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
No hope of boot loader unlock on that firmware currently. Only option is send to sonic for s-off. Or change carriers to att or someone else and get a one from them, I returned my Verizon one and did just that and couldn't be happier.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Verizon has blocked the bootloader from being unlocked via HTCDev. Currently, the ONLY way to unlock is to send it to Sonic. Visit this thread:

So you are against sending it out to get s-off'd by sonic? That's a permanent root for you...
If not, do some research before you purchase a new $600 device. If root is a MUST for you please take time to make sure a new phone will fit your needs in this matter before you waste their time with return of an otherwise GOOD product.
I apologize if this sounds snarky.... that's not my intent.

If you kept your old phone, reactivate that one, send your One to Sonic to get S-Off (for a very reasonable fee... the java cards are expensive!), then when you get it back, reactivate the one. Done and done!

more development will be on the htc one maxx than this phone (unfortunately HTC kinda did again - what they did with the HTC Inc4g I just hope this community actually stays and doesn't leave), not saying that it will get S-OFF faster, but it will have more of a community than us, which = more bounty money = more developers working on exploits. Personally I can't use a phone bigger than 5' large. Again, this is just an opinion from word around the water coolers.

Quick and dirty version of how.
Visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427960 for information.
Go to http://htc.s26tech.com/ to purchase the S-OFF option for the One, send it off and wait for it to come back.

whose getting one?

im not going to pre-order,but im definately planning on picking one up.
anyone else?
Will be getting one too, if the first reviews don't reveal a show-stopper....
original info was that "all us carriers" would be on board,so for me it will depend on the availablity of a t mobile variant(i think they are the most versatile). with newer phones im still a bit afraid of getting one that wont be s-offable(aka tegra 3 one x ) so i may also wait until the confirmation that something is working.
not sure what im looking forward to the most... the bigger screen or having an actual sd card again
I remember when the Verizon variant of the HTC One 2013 came out, you could unlock the bootloader via HTC Dev. This was only available for part of the first day though... Hopefully T-Mo will leave the bootloader unlockable! Otherwise I plan on getting the unlocked version from their website or a GPE edition if one comes out.
T Mobile haven't kept anything off of the unlock list yet. Hopefully they keep with that mentality. But I agree with you, I wouldn't get one either if they did. That's a big reason I left Verizon

That's not an apples to apples comparison. I am referring to HTC Dev official unlock site. T Mobile has not requested any devices not be unlockable through it like Verizon and AT&T.
I doubt that the Sony locked bootloader is at the request of T Mobile... it's probably a Sony thing

You know for a fact that tmobile requested the Sony bootloader to be locked? I have never heard of T Mobile requesting any OEM to keep a bootloader locked down tight.

i do not believe T-Mob requested that Sony lock the bootloader. there is no concrete evidence or clarification as to whether they did or did not request it, though.
i'm not sure how T-Mob treated the M7 but i would wager that it would be the same for M8.

Getting ready to retire my 2 1/2 year old Rezound for this. As of this morning, news (out of China) is that the duo camera is combined 16mp. The leaks have pretty much confirmed removable storage and a battery close to 3000 mAh. Only regret is rumored 2g ROM space. Hopefully that's 3g. Willing to give up my unlimited data on Big Red for this one. :good:

I think you have a bad unit or get horrible reception(I lean more towards bad unit, it happens). I have 3 users with the VZW M9 in Long Island NY and all 3 of them get great battery life. In fact 2 of them are definitely power users and they only rave about it.

Pretty sure it'll be locked then, it's best to just get it from the google store.

This subject is covered several times on the board.
Yes, the bootloader will be locked if purchased from Best Buy or Verizon.
its been confirmed from multiple places that Verizons model will have a locked bootloader. so if you care about custom roms or resale value get the model from the google store. There is always a possibility that someone will figure out an unlock for the Verizon model but i wouldnt count on it
It seems it's all speculation. Haven't seen/heard anything fact that it is indeed locked. But knowing how Verizon operates it will be.

It seems it's all speculation. Haven't seen/heard anything fact that it is indeed locked. But knowing how Verizon operates it will be.

Yeah it all point to it being locked but wont really know until its released and Verizon orders ship
The Verizon N6 wasn't locked down. I have hopes but if its locked it doesn't matter to me.

its been confirmed from multiple places that Verizons model will have a locked bootloader. so if you care about custom roms or resale value get the model from the google store. There is always a possibility that someone will figure out an unlock for the Verizon model but i wouldnt count on it

I just ordered from there mostly due to getting it faster, plus the project fi is as low as $30 monthly, could cancel anytime!
If it's unable to be unlocked it would be the first time Verizon released a Nexus that way.

As stated multiple times the Verizon nexus 6 was still able to be unlocked, it was identical to the Google store one, just with a Verizon emblem on it.
If it's like the nexus 6 with unlockable bootloader I'll be getting the 128 xl from Verizon and be returning the 32 xl to the Google store. I kinda regret not getting the larger storage. Hopefully we will see the unlockable status for a fact on Thursday.

Except one thing... The Pixel is not a Nexus. It's a Pixel.
It was all just an illusion
The reviews are out. Did not one single reviewer with a Verizon unit not check to see if it can be unlocked?
