Poor battery life due to diagnostics.client.wakelock - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note5

I am currently running Marshmallow build N920AUCU2BPE5 and my biggest battery drain is Android System diagnostics.client.wakelock.
Anyone else getting this same wakelock? I have tried factory resetting, clear cache etc.. nothing seems to get help

Turning off Bluetooth stopped the WakeLock. Running a few tests to see if is related to Android Wear.
EDIT: Bluetooth wasn't the issue, Wakelock came back

Don't know if it's diagnostics.client.wakelock for sure, but having Android System drain, and doing some testing to see if it's Android Wear as well.

Turns out it wasn't bluetooth for me, this is the first time it appeared in the debug log file:

Thanks for digging into this. This is one thing I really miss about my OnePlus One - full control over apps/system apps that caused wakelock issues.

Still having issues with the particular Wakelock, ever tried ODIN flash back to Lollipop, Factory Reset/Delete Cache and then upgraded back to Mashmallow (Didn't do a Factory Rest or Delete Cache the first time I upgraded).
I created a new how to post here to show detailed process stats. Maybe someone else is having a similar issue and will have some idea on how to fix it.
What little information I have been able to dig up about 'diagnostics.client.wakelock' it appears to be a CarrierIQ issue. Which just really adds salt to the wound.

Hm so you're seeing this wakelock after a factory reset even before installing any 3rd-party apps? That's really weird and disconcerting. I hope you solve it!

Did you try not consenting to send Samsung diagnostic information during the initial phone setup? Could that be relevant?

I generally opt out of any of that sort of stuff. Is there a way to Opt back in? Possibly could fix the issue.
Also updated to the newest release PE6 and am still seeing the same Wakelock.

I usually opt out as well.
I went into GSam, under App Usage, selected Android System. Then Manage, DiagMonAgent and force stopped it, and wakelocks have decreased dramatically for me (I also force stopped tuiService). Before it was being held awake about 90% of the time. I did this about 19 hrs ago, and it's only showing about 1 hr of wakelock. Of course, would have to do this after every reboot, if not more frequently.

I see both DiagMonAgent and tuiService in Disabler pro - can't you just disable them there? I'll try this and see if I notice any differences.

I have tried everything. It gets under control for maybe a half day then goes off again.

Sorry you're still having this problem. Only one other person (in this thread) seems to have reported having it too.
Does the problem occur after a factory reset even before you install any third-party apps?

Yep, appears before any 3rd party apps are installed. Tried several Factory Resets nothing seems to work.

I'm pretty sure the "diagandroid.iqd" process (Carrier IQ) is causing this. You can see it if you go into "Running services" then tap on "Android System". I haven't found any way to disable it.

By the way, regarding my previous wakelock problem cause by the CVS app: the app is now updated and no longer prevents the phone from deep-sleeping even when the app's in-store (BT-beacon) notifications are enabled.

Agreed, I have been trying to find a way to disable the Process but haven't been able to thus far.

[Q] PowerManagerService wakelock

I am monitoring my battery through BetterBatteryStatus. I see that the PowerManagerService kernel wakelock is keeping my phone from going to sleep. It keeps the phone on for nearly 120 mins in a day. Any idea of what that could be? I suspect that it is due to the Smart Stay feature of Galaxy S3 and I just disabled it now.
I'm getting this on CM 10.1, so no power stay. Wondering what it is too though.
PowerManagerService is basically a catch-all for partial wakelocks (wakelocks requested by non system apps). To see which apps are actually requesting the wakelocks, go to the Partial Wakelocks screen.

Use Better Battery Stats. instead of looking at the Kernel Wakelocks, switch it to partial wakelocks, and if I understand correctly, the sum of the partial wakelocks is effectively the powermanagementservice wakelock
Just wanted to say that i too had a lot of partial wakelocks draining battery on my SGS3 CM11 (using ART) but I've managed to solve the problem via cleaning the cache in settings->storage. Have you seen any benefits by switching to ART?
If I clean the cache, what will it delete? Will I lose all my App settings and game levels? I have about 54Mb in there.

I have a Samsung galaxy note 2 and every time I lock lock my phone it suddenly turns right back on. It's been happening for two days now. I've tried factory reset and hard reset.. nothing seems to work. Looked at several forums but none seem to help either. Use wake lock app and it says this ..see attachment
Same here with various audio partial wakelocks that add up to 12 days of kernel wakelocks. This started when I upgraded to:
gapps-kk-20140606 & cm-11-20140611-snapshot-m7-snapshot kernel 3.0101-cyanogenmod-g329d6a1 build03 #1
I have gmail sync disabled but contacts sync on. I notice CM have added apollo to the lockscreen so this could be a bug I need to search for

I haven't this issue, maybe it's an app which is responsible for that. Go to the developer options and search for "memory" or "Running services". There you will find the apps which are running in the background and it will show you how much memory it need.
If you can't solve your problem a Hard-Reset might work. I think it's a software problem because my phone works very stable with Pie and without such memory problems.

I have the same damn problem with multitasking... Tried everything, went through all battery settings, developer's settings and such. Tried every option. Multitasking is simply impossible on Mi A2 Lite (Pie 9.0). Apps turns off instantly after I leave them. Optimization for each app is turned off, Adaptable battery turned off, Battery saver turned off, also. Nothing helps; So sad, and it seems there is no solution for this.
Xiaomi is famous for theirs memory management algorithms. They are too aggressive, leading to premature app killing.

High battery drain with my Mi Mix 3

Hi Guys,
facing a really annoying issue with my battery usage! I have my phone since two days and from the beginning i reconized, that android system use most of the battery what is really strange! Att. some picture where you can see it. I have a SOT of a little bit of 1 h and have already used 43% of the battery. Something is using my power a lot. Some of you guys aware of this issue and has anybody a solution for me!? (MIUI 10.0.11.)

I already gave it a try, more than one reboot of the system, but still android system is at the top of the list! Overall my SOT is ridiculous.
No idea what could effect that, when i read that some user has a SOT of around 9h i'm really sad and sure that something is wrong.

I'm not sure what app is causing the issue. I get 9 hours SOT on the EU weekly for 2+ months now. I'd probably get the same results using any version of miui. I use the same apps on all my phone's and always get great battery life.

Not showing nova, but Android services using more then it should.. Had more then 30 %of android service usage and after switching back to miui launcher, have about 10 % max
In my case cleaning google services cache didnt solve the problem. I didnt do factory reset becouse i did it few days ago whe I bought used mix .
What I did was downloading last fw update package from phone settings and updated which means I flashed same rom I had on my mix.
Before CPU usage 100% all the time, now looks much better (see pictures)
There is a bug in the beta builds of MIUI if you are using one of those that causes ALL apps to get autostart permissions. This leads to severe battery drain. Simply going down the list and stripping most of the apps of the autostart permission fixes the problem. This has been reported as a bug to Xiaomi. I also submitted logs and bug report as I found the cause (I think) of the Verizon MMS issues.

Simply going down the list and stripping most of the apps of the autostart permission fixes the problem. This has been reported as a bug to Xiaomi. I also submitted logs and bug report as I found the cause (I think) of the Verizon MMS issues.

I know which app is causing it. The questions are:
1) What part of Android does this and can it be disabled?
2) Is this an issue the apps developer needs to address if I can't do #1?
This is the only app I have found that causes this. But I have read about others that can do it but there seems to be no definitive answer to fix it. I tried everything, even a factory reset and each time I install this one app it starts again. I really like the app too.

My stock T800 starts that way on rare occasions and have not been able to determine the cause. I've factory reset to no avail. I don't have the app you linked installed so I'm not sure what's causing it. I was hoping I did so at least I'd know. Hopefully someone can chime in and provide some insight.

Yes it seems, from what i've read all over the internet, it's not one particular app. Just would like to be able to disable the app that is actually causing the trouble. Don't know what it is. Just hope it's not the core android OS.

Android is starting is the behavior after delvic cache is wiped I believe. Perhaps there is an issue with the cache partition or an app is having difficulty writing to the partition. Just guessing at this point.

Best answer I have yet . Which makes me think the developer might be doing something wrong. Yeah, maybe his app doesn't bother 99% of the devices out here but all it takes is 1% to give your app a bad rap.
Especially when someone has paid to support it.
This is the answer I got in email from the developer today..
"Sorry but this really isn't something I can control... Android is in charge of optimizing your apps, if it finds something that it needs to optimize, it will run. How long does it take?
There is nothing that I know of that I can do to change this. It is a system level process. This app optimization process has been around since Android 5.0, when Google changed to the ART runtime."
So I guess that's that...I was hoping he would give me a clue as to what android app is actually doing the work....maybe I could disable it.
