I apologize if this isn't the right place for this, but I, quite frankly, didn't know where else to post this: I noticed that there is no entry for the Mediapad M2 here on XDA yet in the devices-section. Will it receive a section of its own or will it just kind of be rolled into one of the existing ones, like e.g. the Mediapad X2 is very similar H/W-wise? Yes, I realize it is a rather new device and it's not from one of the most popular manufacturers and all that, and no, I am not familiar with the process of how new devices are added here.
The ideal place for this request is in the following thread - *** New Device Forum Requests ***. Being posted in that thread helps keep all such requests in one place and helps the admins to see which devices are being requested on a regular basis.
With Huawei not being one of the bigger manufacturers, I presume the decision on whether it gets a forum here will be more dependant on how popular the device may be and how much developer support will come along.
Even if it doesn't end up getting its own forum though, it may be a good idea to keep searching in the Android General forum. That'll be a good place to check because a user of the Mediapad M2 will likely end up creating a thread in that section which will include all sorts of information for that device, so that it's all contained in one place.

Alright, I appreciate the reply and shall make a request for it in the right place, then.
Can some of the Max 3 owners confirm if the device supports wireless charging, and list what FDD-LTE bands it has? TIA

In the OP, I asked "Can some of the Max 3 owners confirm..." and I specifically asked for OWNERS input for a reason. I can read webpages just as well as you do, and unfortunately they quite often contain errors when it comes to detailed technical specifications. I don't want to buy a phone based on web specs, and discover later, when I get it that it doesnt have what webpage says, and it was just someone's typo. Replies from non-owners are not helpful and unless you work for Xiaomi and because of that are in the position to know for certain - please refrain from posting speculations or info, based on a web source, even from what you perceive as a reliable website. I'm asking for a comment from device owners ONLY.

too early for that-i have one on preorder but am canceling it since its bands are not impressive (several sites) and screen not wide enough (too narrow relative to a 6.9 diagonal-should have checked sooner) as for folks actually having the device AND reporting here? you will have to wait for at least 2-3 weeks my guess.
No, it's selling almost 24h and you can still order one. It's not a flagship and some shops already ship today.

I am absolutely fine waiting as long as necessary to get an answer from the actual owner. However, what I don't want to happen is receive replies from non-owners, like wpc0406, based on speculations and info they read from some website. It's a Chinese phone, will be shipped from China and having to do returns to China is complicated and messy, so I'd like to be certain what I'm buying before I buy it. I created this Question thread for the sole purpose of getting an answer from an actual owner, so I hope people like wpc0406 can respect that and spare me their opinions and speculations. If they wish to provide their opinions and speculations on what specs/features the device may or may not have - nobody is stopping them, and they are free to create their own thread. This Question thread was created for different purpose.

I understand your concerns but please be patient and wait a few weeks for databases to update to show correct information.
Here is one of the Mi Max 3 added recently "2018-07-19 21:47". But take this with a grain of salt as Data Integrity status reads: Preliminary.

The fact that you're asking to wait, after I said in the post right before yours "I am absolutely fine waiting as long as necessary", the fact that you are pasting a link to a website with specs when I expressly asked NOT to do that, the fact that you are asking me to "take this with a grain of salt" - all those things unmistakably indicate that you absolutely, 100% do NOT understand my concern. Your post is shockingly ignorant, extremely unhelpful and your comments have in them literally everything I expressly asked NOT to post in this thread

People like you should be banned from xda. Reported.
The fact that such a demanding person doesn´t know how to search for the official specs and open this thread seems like as you say with your own words "shockingly ignorant".
Here are your specs:

You're very impolite. I'm to tired to argue with you in this extremely hot weather.
If there is no buyers who has received their phones and you know that this will not be happen for another week or two.
Then wait and hang on to your question and don't open a thread this far in advance and demand no doubtful answers from non owners who has no on-hand experience.

Wow...really? Are you THAT delusional to think that after you attacked me for no apparent reason with "People like you should be banned from xda.", and said that you reported me (If you did then I'm glad - the mod will educate you what constitutes forum rules violation, which things to report and which not to) I would actually want any help from you and even bother to read any specs you posted?!
The fact, that you posted specs from official site indicates that you are just as ignorant as the previous poster, dont have a clue what I'm asking for and oblivious to things I asked not to post, for which I provided detailed reason. By calling me "demanding person" you have also shown ignorance and demonstrated inability to understand the tone or assess the urgency (rather, lack thereof) of the question asked. I clearly and expressly stated in previous posts I dont mind waiting as long as needed, to get a response from members, when they get the device, whenever it may be. I don't "demand" anything from anyone, let alone within any specific time frame. Not a single sentence in my question even remotely resembles "demanding". Please take your blown out of proportion, exaggerated, confrontational reaction to my simple request to get some info from device owners elsewhere and do not post in this thread again. Your attitude doesnt benefit anyone and only provokes people into more bickering.

"Then wait and hang on to your question and don't open a thread this far in advance" ??? - when I decide to take orders from you and allow you to dictate me when and if to open XDA threads - I will let you know. By the way, as some of the previous posters noted, your perception of device availability being "this far in advance" is incorrect - it's already in local CN stores and shipping online in 2 days. In the meantime, if you think I'm impolite and if you are "tired to argue" then please go away and don't post in my thread again. I made it clear (to everyone but you, apparently) I only asked for response from device owners - you are not one, and even if you were - I wouldn't want your help because of your attitude. Have a nice day, hope your weather gets colder.

@moderator I'm looking to get some feedback from the device owners about a couple of key specs. So far, none have responded (which is OK) so I'd like to keep the thread open until someone with Max 3 responds.
I do think though temporarium's post requires an action to be taken by a moderator. Going around other people's unanswered question threads, especially ones he had no prior involvement with, and asking to close them whenever he sees a question or a post he doesn't like is not inline with XDA's expected behavior guidelines. It is clearly antagonizing and harmful to the OP, who is looking to have his question answered. This kind of spiteful, instigating behavior should be forcefully discouraged with an infraction and perhaps a pm to temporarium, explaining when to mind his own business.
There are dozens of thousands of threads and millions of posts on XDA, and we all see here and there posts and questions we don't like. It doesn't make it OK to harass moderators and ask them to close unanswered question threads, which are not to his liking. Imagine if everyone did this
It has a metal back as well as a metal frame (metal unibody) so it obviously doesn't support wireless charging as metal = no go for wireless charging. You don't need someone who owns the device to tell you that

It seems that you have a problem understanding things and also with your education. You don´t need the device to confirm the supported LTE bands. And what´s better than the official website to see that specs. Again, next time before opening an useless post, be more smart and search for official info like on mi.com. It´s easy, you will see.
With the last post and with my post you have answers for all your questions. despite you don´t deserve any answer with this attitude. And yes, a moderator should ban you for calling another user "shockingly ignorant" and for your intransigent behaviour. Reported again.
Looking to get some feedback from the actual device owners. Someone, who has this phone, the box and documentation that came with in their possession. I'm not interested in links to any websites, including official Xiaomi / Mi sites, or any specifications, pasted from a web source. I just want to hear back from device owners. If you do not own the device and have thoughts/opinions to share, please create another thread for that purpose. Thank you for understanding
Does the phone variant you have support wireless charging? If not - have you tried using wireless charging receiver with it, something like this one?
Can you list FDD-LTE bands your phone supports? They should be published either on the product box or inside the documentation that came with (again - no web links or sources, please)
If you don't mind sharing - where did you buy yours from?
TIA

Since you closed the other thread, I replied to your comments and your decision to close it in private, but if you want an answer here - I'm absolutely fine with that. The answer to your question is: I don't consider having started anything on the wrong foot, either now or ever. Targeting specifically device owners with questions is not unprecedented, not against forum rules and is actually quite common on XDA. There are hundreds of threads, where people ask owners for device review, or ask questions like "where did you buy it from?" or "How is the battery life?" - all of these can only be answered by someone, who owns the device. On the other hand, your notion or "suggestion" that there is something wrong with asking for owners' feedback is rather uncommon, and unprecedented in my 10+ years of experience as XDA member (and a lot longer as unregistered reader). I am sincerely hoping you will reconsider your position and retract your comments. In other thread, which you closed, I provided details explanations why I want feedback from owners (even though I didn't owe anyone explanation about target audience for my questions), so I'm not gonna repeat it here. There is really, absolutely nothing wrong with asking for owners feedback/advice and it is done all the time - let me know if you want some examples of such other XDA threads.

I won't reply to anything above here. That can be discussed privately.
All I've asked is for this thread to remain respectful for every one, unlike the last one, or it's fate will be the same. Never once did I imply the topic is invalid, only the senseless arguing was.
Thank you. :good:
As a suggestion: you could contact Xiaomi support. I'm sure they'd give you a more trustworthy answer than anything you read posted here, as you can't verify the poster is telling the truth. So, as the saying goes, get it from the horse's mouth - and then you could inform the community of your findings.
Nope no wireless charging.. have a whole bunch of wireless chargers from my Nexus 6, LG G3, S7 Edge and S9 Plus. It's physically impossible to have one too.
