[GUIDE]Port Nexus s roms to sgs devices

Well i will share my knowladge to you people, two years of learning stuff about android....
If this guide dont help you (0,01 possibilities) LOGCAT YOUR BUILD!! I WILL TRY TO HELP
Tools needed /by saranhai/:
7zip (alternative to winrar, doesn't matter which you choose to use)
Notepad++ (highly recommend if you're on windows)
Android SDK/ADB (MUST HAVE, for troubleshooting and such)
dsixda kitchen (could come in handy)
First to port an ics rom you need winrar.
This are the steps:
grab an ics rom like cm9 or aokp to take the libs and hw folders
Never unzip the rom.
1-from cm9/aokp copy all outside system, i mean boot.img mtd etc..... and past it over the rom you are porting (nexus s rom)
2-enter system/app and remove torch.apk, crespoparts.apk and replace camera.apk with aokp camera.
3-enter system bin and replace this files with aokp/cm9 ones
*dhcpcd
*bluetoothd
*vold
*wpa_client
*wpa_supplicant

4-enter system etc and replace this files with aokp/cm9 ones
*bluetooth folder
*dhcpcd folder
*Apnconf.xml
*wifi
*vold.fstab
*vold.conf

5-Then we go to the libs, enter system/lib and replace:
*HW folders
*modules folders
*egl folders
*libril.so
*libsec-ril.so
*libreference-ril.so
*libsec-ril-client.so
*libbluedroid.so
*libbluetooth.so
*libbluetoothhd.so
*lib_cameraclient.so
*libcameraservice.so
*libhardware_legncy.so (very important to wifi to work) hell this caused me problems
*libEGL
*libgles (the 3 files)

--------------replace usr and vendor folders-------------------
And last edit build.prop, well first check if it boots then you change this and add this.
edit this:
ro.product.model=GT-I9000
ro.product.brand=samsung
ro.product.name=GT-I9000
ro.product.device=GT-I9000
ADD THIS TO SIGNAL TO WORK!!
additional build propieties

ADVANCED USERS ONLY (dont ask me how) :
for working external sd (emcc) you need to decompile/recompile framework-res.apk
you need to change this:
xml/storage_xml with other storage xml from aokp or cm9

I´m not responsible for bricked devices (this shouldnt brick it) but i dont want anyone crying because i will laugh at you, it works for me..

Libs functions
Lib:
*Libhardware_legancy.so (makes wifi works)
*all libs with ril: DATA and SIGNAL
*LibEGL, modules, hw: hw aceleration, lights,etc...
*Libgles (Gpu and cpu)

If you are experiencing issues booting up, here's how to get a logcat so you can figure out what's wrong:
connect phone to computer
open up command prompt
navigate to your android sdk tools folder i.e C:/androidsdk/platform-tools (ADB MUST BE SET UP BEFOREHAND)
type in:
Code:
adb logcat
watch as a whole bunch of text scroll by, don't bother reading it right now, do it later.
If you want to stop the logcat, just disconnect phone from computer.

oh, haha i dont think there is another way rather than using your device as a lab rat.... lmao
I give you an unbrickeable guide, if you dont forget to swapp the boot.img and hw and modules folder you wont brick it since recovery is on the kernel, so you can restore or do what you want, if you flash a nexus s kernel (as example you forgot to remove it) you will soft brick it

im ok thanks for asking !! i moved to the galaxy nexus thats why im not posting much lol, im playing with the baby!
to the point, you should try, it wont harm, but if you do try, dont port aosp, they need special coding in framework or something similar and you will get a nice dark screen on booting, well if its cyanogenmod or aokp then yes it should work..

jb codenameandroid? it should work, worth the try!! but well remember to replace the kernel so you dont lose your recovery and your good to go.
if i dont bad remember my codename android port was booting and all ok, i was talking about pure aosp,

Hi,
1- Having the jar and ADB well settled
2- déodex files will be in the folder SVADeodexerForArtx6 (not to folder from the rom!)

I've decrypted 3.35.401.12 0PJAIMG to system.img,boot.img and firmware.zip with Captain_Throwback Decrypt Tool in Ubuntu and I have built Deodex and Odex Roms with SuperrKitchen,if you want to try on these roms,here are links:

You can make zip patch to flash dont need repack system folder to .dat file

Bro can backup file system to system.img. after use adb to flash boot.img and system.img

proximity and internet problems In stock

Hello. I am using a nokia x running stock rom. I usually change roms. I can use the sensor that turns the screen off during calls but I cannot use it in the stock rom and it calls the last person I previously called automatically. I need a fix for this. And one more thing. Phone is lagging a lot In all the roms when using 2g. But it runs smooth on 3g. I need a fix soon. Thanks in advance:fingers-crossed:

i know this problem very well...i have faced it for 1 year almost...
just remove scratch guard over proxinity sensor...
it may sound silly but yes after screen guard, senaor works in custom rom but not in stock

same i faced some months ago... then i cut the screen guard a little bit in proximity sensor area... then it was working properly....

Forget about this issue. I switched to miui. And for those who were searching for a prefect rom for nokia x l. I recommend miui 5.4.12.

+1 for that..totally agreed...just search 'material' in themes and see a theme with some unique pretty different name, i dont remember. you will love it even more than lollipop or marshmallow

there will be a patch there in miui thread, named fixmiui.zip. flash that also other wise you cant download any theme.

you need to delete just the psensorcal file from bin folder then replace sensor_default and sensor_goldfish from kitkat folder and put them in hw folder.
thats it,sensor will work with protection guard on it

I think this will work. My tempered glass has no sensor cut. In stock ROM it cause problem like no screen off during call. In KitKat it works perfectly.

[TOOL]SplashInjector[OP5]

SplashInjector​splash injector is a tool created by me based on the work done by @makers_mark . it is a basic command line interface but it gets the job done. it supports all oneplus devices so far except the oneplus x :crying: i can add support once someone gets me the logo.bin file from that device. The tool is pretty simple its based on the work here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/mod-splash-screen-image-injector-t3441999 this is where i got this all from. i know it can be kinda hacky and only supports unix systems i think you can get it working by using git bash on windows. In its current state it can decode and encode all oneplus logo.bins (Including the OnePlus 5!) it can also pack flashable zips for you automatically. all you need to do is run the decode option edit the file you want in the output folder. Then you can run the encode command and it will pack it all back up. Then package it with the package command. Once again major credit to @makers_mark he did all the leg work. i just made it a little more friendly. lmk if there is any issues you find

click the help option. i feel it explains it pretty well. to edit the png in the output folder use gimp or photoshop

Ok just an update windows support is finished and in the tool now. I'll push probably tomorrow it works and packs and unpacks fine just getting issues with packaging the zips. It corrupts them. Im gonna switch to 7zip and see if that works then I'll push

Other option is to move the files to the output folder and ask the user to manually zip them, it's available on windows right click menu.

I have a question, what's the BGR option for? I thought it was for op5 display but it only change the color of the pngs, so I switched it for RGB and now my logo looks good.
I share my mod, original was taken from CUSTOM BOOT LOGO PACK FOR OnePlus3.

bgr does **** up the colors a bit or fixes it. its one of those things where you use it if you need it and you will know if you need it.
also update to anyone else that update will have to wait. im a perfectionist and im revamping the whole thing to alot cleaner code. windows should work tho and the oneplus x will be supported hopefully too

Of course you need root，The right command is
adb shell su -c dd if xxxx
