To make a long story short, I need to pack twrp into the stock tot file. How so I go about doing this? I can't come up with much on the search.
Fastboot commands have been removed from the g5 h830 T-Mobile but bootlader is unlocked so. I can flash unsigned.
Any help, even pointing in the right direction will help

Hello, i just got my phone in after sending it in for repair, and they upgraded my phone to V11a. This might be the newest firmware, and it seems to fix the battery issues (i have gotten a full day (8am-12:36am right now am at 30%) compared to having to charge my phone mid-day, and overnight).
Here is my story: My phone was rooted before i sent my phone away for repair (and i had cyanogenmod installed) but now it is stock. I remember a need for stock firmware previously, because all we had was a Korean firmware or something like that. Also, because it is a new firmware i am wondering if anyone would like to have it (though i am sure you can just do an OTA update) so i can upload mine if you want. I just don't know how to get the files, and what files to get.
The files i am talking about include the .img files and the .kdz (if i am right) so: baseband.img, firmware.img...etc.
If nobody has or will have a need for these files then i will stop posting about it, but i have a stock (not even rooted yet) phone and i want to do something to benefit the community...
here is some info you might already know:
Lg Optimus 4G LTE
Bell Canada
P930
same phone as Nitro HD
Stock - LG-P930-V11a-NOV-04-2011
I will be rooting and installing a firmware by Tuesday if possible.

TL;DR
I have stock firmware, and i am wondering how to make a backup of the firmware in case i need to restore to stock after i root and install cyanogenmod.

First,it's very old from and if you want cwm, you need root(not remember if it's possible) or use unbrick instruction

if i make a nandroid backup, and then i install a custom firmware, will i be able to go back to stock, with just the nandroid backup?
I'm asking this not only so i can help myself in case i need to, but also to help other people who want/need to go back to stock (to upgrade/get repairs)
another, kind of related question. how would i get the things like the boot.img, baseband.img, firmware.img...etc. that seem to be needed to unbrick? from what i am reading (i never followed the instructions in the unbrick post though, as i don't feel the need to yet) we only have a korean version of the phone backed up like this. while i still have a stock phone, would there be any way to get these required files. or am i missing the point, and these files are not needed?
Sorry about all the questions, i'm new-ish to this, we all have to start somewhere.
Thanks
SO I am pretty new to the lg family coming from galaxy since the first one. but I am curious since I am still on the 10b firmware and don't want to update. if later in time they release something that unlocks the bootloader on 11a can I update using the kdz method even if Verizon releases a newer method than even 11a? sorry if this is confusing.
My suggestion would be to just root and get on the same firmware that everyone else is. You never know if something will come out blocking the ability to kdz but it's up to you

Yeah i thought about it but what if they only find a way to unlock the bootloader on 10b. I screwed myself with the galaxy s4 with taking a system update. So now im extra cautions. But i am debating doing thhe update and if i do should i do the kdz or the ota method by verizon.

I saw someone on the other forum that uploaded the 10b kdz file to have them root that one maybe just wait for that file to be rooted if you don't want to go to 11a. Personally I think they are going to use 11a if they find a bootloader unlock because that is the rooted firmware they put out in the first place.

Yeah i also thought about that because i thought i remember someone saying it auto updated and they posted about not being able to roll back. But ill see if they root 10b within a day or 2 ill go that route if not ill update and do it the 11a route. I already downloaded everything for the 11a root but kinda am kickin my feet

Hold tight, devs just got a 10b system image. We should see 10b rooted in the next day or two. I'm in the same boat, don't want to upgrade yet. I have a feeling we will see a bootloader work around rather than a full unlock.

Sounds good and im completely happy with a work around. My s4 i had to use safestrap. But yeah thanks guys for all the help.

Keep on 10b and if you do update do the manual way, Verizon update could potentially be an even newer one that just released and no one knew about yet, always do manual if possible in my opinion. Either way as everyone else suggested keep on 10b and wait for a root file for it which they said any day now.
Does anyone here kno how to save and also make a stock img from my phone. Im new to this and would like to kno how to proper have a back up and think it would be safe to have to stored when i do my root. Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I need someone to do me favor. When I took the 12a ota, I rooted it with the root injection method. However, I didn't make a backup of my stock unrooted system image. The way it sits now I am permanently rooted. I can't KDZ back to 11a for obvious reasons and when I reset to factory defaults, even through the LG recovery screen, it still keeps root. Since it's possible that big red pulled the 12a ota due to notification issues and such, I will not be able to take any more ota's until a KDZ is released.
So after expanding on that, all I'm asking is for someone with a Verizon variant of the G4 that is on 12a but is NOT rooted to please pull a copy of their stock UNROOTED system image (preferably right after a factory reset) and put it up somewhere for me to grab. That way if another ota comes back, I have a way to get back to stock without having to wait for a KDZ to be released. If someone is willing to do this for me, please post the MD5 so I don't flash a bad download.
Thanks so much in advance.
Anyone?
Try to unroot from super SU and uninstall Xposed with the zip if exists , might be helpful...
Unfortunately I am on 10B ?

I know this is unrelated to your question, but is there anyway you could either copy your build prop info to a text or share your build prop file? Trying to see if the touch screen info on their would solve the issues on older versions of the software! Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I purchased the phone in the UK from the network carrier Vodafone. I have done a fair bit of research on the rooting and unrooting process mainly via videos and reading tutorials on XDA.
I would like to root the phone and gain super user access and install some Xposed modules but would also like to be able to unroot and flash back to a stock Vodafone firmware encase I need to claim under warranty. I have been trolling the internet to get the correct KDZ file and found this site (ttp://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/country.php?country=United+Kingdom). I believe that the correct firmware may be on here but am a little confused on what the suffix and software version means to be honest.
The reason for my confusion is that I updated the firmware to 6.0 Marshmallow through the LG bridge but when I now check my phones software version it states v20b-234-15. I assume this is right but from memory the first software version when I got the phone was something like H81510B_00.
I cant remember exactly what it was before unfortunately but the KDZ files I have found state H81510C_00 (Suffix - AVDFVK) and H81510C_00 (AVDFLR) and this does seem to make sense but I'm thinking it was B instead of C but and not 100% on that.
Do you think these KDZ files would be the correct one to flash back to encase I run in to some problems rooting?
I am also assuming that this KDZ is Android Lollipop and not Marshmallow so is it OK to use this to revert back from Marshmallow?
Thanks and any help would be much appreciated.
Ross
The 10X version are all Lollipop, 20X is marshmallow.
When flashing a KDZ on your phone, what's important is what model your phone is. H815 in your case.
If you want to restore to stock in case something goes wrong, you can find everything here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
In there is a link to this directory: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G4/ where you find pretty much all KDZ files for G4 phones.
I'm not that experienced myself, but I rooted my phone just recently and I can share my experience with you.
I have a H815. It was a V10c-TWN-XX version (Taiwan). I updated to Marshmallow with LG Bridge also and the new software version was V20b-TWN-XX.
Marshmallow rooting is not possible on my phone because I can't unlock the bootloader on it. And Marshmallow rooting is only possible with an unlocked bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader is only possible on European phones (http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryTypeCode=ANRS). I asked autoprime (renown user and developer here) if I can unlock bootloader after flashing an European KDZ on it. He said no, having European software on it is not enough, it has to be a phone manufactured for the european market. Dont know why, guess because of different hardware.
So, not being able to root MM, I had to revert back to stock (downgrade) using one of the KDZs.
I chose the most recent one in the directory I linked (which is the Poland H81510E). In the "Go Back to Stock" thread I linked the OP says to use LG Flash Tool 2014, which unfortunately doesn't work with Marshmallow. But fret not, it works with LG UP! http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
When I tried flashing the KDZ with Flash Tool 2014, the process failed with an error at 5%. It worked flawlessly with LG UP. Here's more information regarding downgrading, but it really isnt hard. Just download + install LG UP. Launch it. Connect your phone. Choose KDZ file. Select option "upgrade". Hit start.
NOTE: after the firmware update was done, the phone rebooted automatically and for me it stuck at at the LG Logo (bootloop). But a simple hard factory reset did it, the phone booted and my new version was 10e-something. With Lollipop 5.1 of course.
After that, I rooted my phone using this pre-rooted image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/h815-eu-l-p-t-sea-twn-t3176195
and this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/...-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765/
I now have a "H81510e-EUR-XX" Lollipop 5.1 with root (SuperSU 2.49).
I don't really know about Vodafone and if carrier specific firmware is necessary in this case. If not, you could use any 815 firmware.
From the site you have linked with the KDZ files..... it seems they are all the same.
If you check the table for H815 KDZs from Vodafone, there are some 10C and 10D versions. Now I compared the fileKey parameter in the URL to the 10C files and the 10D files and also the bytes of the files.
All the 10C version are identical to each other, same for 10D.
Check out this screenshot I made for you: http://i.imgur.com/Ie0w4us.png
Bytes are also identical, so it's pretty safe to say those are the same files.
Dont know why they are listed several times there. The suffix doesnt matter.
I'd grab a 10D if I were you. But I think the Poland 10E should work, too. Better confirm it with somebody else though.
If you flash your system to 10e, you can use the pre-rooted image I used. Otherwise you will have to inject root yourself: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586. In this method you create an image of your system and inject root into the image, which you then flash back on your phone.
I am working on rooting my Telus LG G4. I have done a bunch of research and I noticed that LG has finally allowed people to root and void warranty in europe. Has anyone done this in Canada? Does this work on MM in Canada?
My other option is to downgrade to LL, I have already downloaded the KDZ I need and LGUP. I have everything backed up, before i go about this has anyone downgraded with success?
Thanks again I miss having custom rom installed, Plus we all know the LG G4 has its negative im hoping the roms will help with them.

As I have done some more research I see custom roms will not happen but there are WAY more reasons I want root on this thing. Again thanks everyone.
