[Q] LG-P930-V11a Stock Optimus LTE Bell Canada - LG Nitro HD

Hello, i just got my phone in after sending it in for repair, and they upgraded my phone to V11a. This might be the newest firmware, and it seems to fix the battery issues (i have gotten a full day (8am-12:36am right now am at 30%) compared to having to charge my phone mid-day, and overnight).
Here is my story: My phone was rooted before i sent my phone away for repair (and i had cyanogenmod installed) but now it is stock. I remember a need for stock firmware previously, because all we had was a Korean firmware or something like that. Also, because it is a new firmware i am wondering if anyone would like to have it (though i am sure you can just do an OTA update) so i can upload mine if you want. I just don't know how to get the files, and what files to get.
The files i am talking about include the .img files and the .kdz (if i am right) so: baseband.img, firmware.img...etc.
If nobody has or will have a need for these files then i will stop posting about it, but i have a stock (not even rooted yet) phone and i want to do something to benefit the community...
here is some info you might already know:
Lg Optimus 4G LTE
Bell Canada
P930
same phone as Nitro HD
Stock - LG-P930-V11a-NOV-04-2011
I will be rooting and installing a firmware by Tuesday if possible.
Thanks for reading

First,it's very old from and if you want cwm, you need root(not remember if it's possible) or use unbrick instruction

if i make a nandroid backup, and then i install a custom firmware, will i be able to go back to stock, with just the nandroid backup?
I'm asking this not only so i can help myself in case i need to, but also to help other people who want/need to go back to stock (to upgrade/get repairs)
another, kind of related question. how would i get the things like the boot.img, baseband.img, firmware.img...etc. that seem to be needed to unbrick? from what i am reading (i never followed the instructions in the unbrick post though, as i don't feel the need to yet) we only have a korean version of the phone backed up like this. while i still have a stock phone, would there be any way to get these required files. or am i missing the point, and these files are not needed?
Sorry about all the questions, i'm new-ish to this, we all have to start somewhere.
Thanks

My p930 is rooted and running the latest CWM recovery and CM10 nightlies. The screen is broken and I 'll need to send it in for warranty/insurance claim. I've run a CWM backup, and transferred that to my PC. Now I need to return to stock/unroot.
This thread, along with other unroot threads, are kinda old. Is SOC > Unroot still the best method? Has anyone unrooted from 4.1/CM10? Are there any other known methods?

If all else fails you could use the LG update tool to update to official ICS... I personally don't know if there's an easier way.
On the broken screen thing, how much are you being charged to replace it? You can get the digitizer glass/frames on eBay for around $40-45. There is a nice guide on how to tear-down the phone floating around the general forum which I have used three times so far : But it's pretty easy to do and would save you some time of being without your phone... and save you the hassle of having to unroot and all.

Best thing to do now is just update using the official LG updater to ICS from download mode. If it refuses to install for any reason, flash the V18f ICS update first.
I'm also wanting to go back to the stock ICS on my optimus LTE. I'm just not 100% sure what I should flash first. Currently if I connect the phone to the LG mobile software it says that my phone is already up to date. Where would I be able to get a V18F ICS update? And also once I've done that will I be able to point the LG software to Telus I don't remember since it's been so long since I upgraded my phone.

Then you should be able to follow the unbrick guide to downgrade to GB, and instead flashing CWM and carrying on from there, try to use the LG updater while on stock GB.

The v18f version is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668476
The nice thing about this is that this exe will flash no matter what ROM you currently have installed. Then, after installing this, the official updater will recognize your phone as out of date and will allow you to flash to the official v20c update easily.
Seems to want to update to V10J and that's about it, never get's to V20E. Also after the update it just stays at the Telus splash screen.
I was able to load the ATT V18F no problem and then get to the point where the LG software wants to update but that's where it end unfortunately.
Guess I'll keep trying and see how it goes.

Oh, that's actually fine. You just need to do one more thing: after you get stuck on the splash screen, pull the battery and put it back in. Then hold down volume down + power button to turn the phone on (same way you access CWM if you have it installed). Then press power button twice to confirm and your phone will reboot after a little bit and should work fine from there.
HOWEVER, if it's not even the version you want, then that doesn't help you much. What version of the phone do you have? P935 from Telus?

im a noob and i want to flash my phone

I am a proud owner of the AT&T Xperia Ion and am getting sick being unable to download the apps i want and i have read around here i can flash the international firmware so i could have ICS on my phone. Well as a noob to androids i am obviously nervous as to the effects of flashing. so i would like to know the risks of flashing it are. Once the official AT&T firmware is released can i switch to it? Will all the data stored in my phone be erased? Will i be able to use LTE? Will the warranty be voided? i would also like to know if there are other things i should know about, as well as the process in which i can carry out the flashing. thank you everybody
1. Just flash back to stock att ftf, and you should get the update. Or, flash the att ICS ftf when it becomes available.
2. It's a good idea to wipe between flashes, so if you did, all your data will be gone. I backup contacts and calendar through Google, so getting data back for me is easy. App data on the other hand will be gone. Or, risk it and don't wipe, but you will likely get some stability issues.
3. You can get lte.
4. If you flash back to stock before taking your phone for service, there should be no warranty issues. Is you take it in with Chinese firmware, that'll likely be a problem.

I'm also a noob in Android. Last weekend flashed ICS on my Xperia, following the procedure for rooting. It took me maybe two hours to get all the instructions and download everything I needed. You´ll basically need the firmwares, Android SDK (the link is in the post with instructions, second one in the thread), Flashtool (the latest Windows version, which comes with the drivers for Ion, is in http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/). I followed everything from the instructions, but wasn't getting the same response from the ADB commands, it still worked.
Two things are missing from those instructions:
1. To have hotspot activated, you'll need to first flash the international GB firmware, wiping everything in your device (be sure to make backups of everything you´ll want, don´t trust Google backup).
2. Right after flashing ICS, Flashtool won't recognize your phone, even if you have the USB debugging option on. You'll have to update your PC drivers by going to Control Panel, Device Manager, and choose to have Windows search for updated drivers (while the phone is connected, of course). You´ll know you got it right when Device Manager displays a different name for your phone, and Flashtool is able to tell you the software version. At that point you can run the second part of the rooting procedure.

Hello!
When will be released the official ice cream sandwich for my xperia ion lt28i? (international version, bought from Hong Kong)
No time given really. I am guessing at the same time the US releases their's so will the European (International) Version. So maybe September / October time frame, could be earlier.

new to lg g3 questions

hi guys im new to the lg g3 (well any lg phone) just a couple of questions
from what ive read there isnt many roms due to the locked bootloader will the bootloader be unlocked in the future?
i have the D855 uk vodafone model is they a working TWRP or CWR for the g3?
ive rooted so does this mean i can at least remove some bloteware?
thanks guys sorry for questions :victory:

Probably yes, if the @thecubed and others beat the protection (last post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...3-vs98510b-t2890349/post55729952#post55729952)

There is only Tethered version and I would not recommend to use it. It's for advanced users only and it's not a "real" recovery. More on http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/recovery-twrp-2-7-1-3-t2831668

Yes, you can... , or freeze it. If you will the cause softbrick, use LG Flash Tool 2014 and flash in NORMAL mode latest stock ROM you used or use LG PC Suite. After this you need to re-root it. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-unroot-ota-using-lg-pc-suite-pc-t2802286)

thanks for the replys if the bootloader doesnt get unlocked then thats going to destroy the g3 for development isnt it
is they a way to flash latest stock rom and get off the vodafone branded rom so i at least get all the latest OTAs?
Not sure I understand you question, but if you mean, whether you will be able to update the phone via OTA in the future, it depends.
If not or if it will not work, unroot your phone, install OTA and the re-root and you should be fine.
But still - all of that is already described in dedicated threads, don't be afraid to take a look around. :fingers-crossed:
As for the development - I guess when it will not get unlocked, it will be from my perspective one of the most wasted money on Android phone for many.

lol sorry what i ment is im on a vodafone branded firmware now and i wanted to flash a unbranded latest uk stock rom so it will be first to get OTA as branded firmwares can be a bit behind is it possible?
thanks again:good:
I don't think so, but someone else should confirm it.
Eg. you can download FW based on IMEI (http://lg-firmware-rom.com/download-firmware.php?f=YOUR_IMEI_HERE), not based on whether it's branded or not.
But still you have option to use the tools like LG Flash Tool 2014 and simply flash latest firmware you want (for your variant)

I know its confusing but you can only flash TOT files with that tool - if you get your FW via the imei cause its a KDZ, for KDZ flashing you need to use this tool...

[Q] Downgrading to KK ROM - Three UK

Hi,
First time poster, long time trawler... thanks for all your info over the years.
I have a specific question about downgrading to KK from L on my branded Three Mobile UK.
I had rooted on KK and was loving it, everything was working great.
Three kept pushing the OTA at me, but because of root it wouldn't take.
Borrowed a PC (I run mac for work) to run LG Suite and (back up first) fix upgrade errors to unroot to take OTA.
For some reason it bricked it...it just sat on Firmware update at 0% forEVER. Wouldn't boot past it or recognise the device anymore.
Had to use the Mobile Support tool to bring it back to life... although this resulted in an upgrade to 5 anyway.
I'm really not a fan of L. Won't go into details as to why it sucks, but I want to go back to KK and root, and then wait for L to get root options.
I've never flashed a ROM before, however there's a ton of resources here so I will give it a go.
I want to go back to the exact same ROM that came with the device which I THINK I have tracked down to - D85510g_00 via
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53606494
and
http://www.mylgphones.com/lg-g3-firmware-checking-the-software-version-and-update-history
Can anyone confirm that would be the right one... Is there any reason why I shouldn't use this ROM?
I want to go with what works, and not risk bricking it by installing an unbranded ROM in case they've used some sort of security measure that I'm unaware of... or am I just being a noob?
TL : DR
ON Lpop, want KK back... downgrade to D85510g_00.kdz for 3 UK (Hutchinson) branded ROM - Correct?

Thanks for your reply. Will borrow a PC again and give it a whirl tonight.
I have the KDZ file, USB drivers and LG Flash tool already downloaded... and intend on following this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
I have seen in the second method mentioned in that guide - TOTs and DLLs, could you confirm that these are different paths to the same goal? Either I need KDZ or I need TOT & DLL... but I don't need KDZ and TOT and DLL? Have I understood that correctly?

[Q] koodo factory Image

Since, Koodo has started carrying G3 (model D852) i bought one and i want to start using custom ROMs (coming from Nexus 5)
but, before i start the process of root and recovery, etc i want to make sure that i have a backup plan i.e. stock koodo factory image for G3
i have been searching all over xda and could not find one, could someone please help me with this.
Also, i am use to installing custom roms, it seems the procedure for LG G3 is much different from Nexus phones ( i owned all of them except N6). So, if i understand it correctly
First, i need to root my device
second, i need to install custom recovery using BUMP
third, i can only install ROM that have been built with BUMP
thanks for the help
Bump!
