I'm note sure if this is even the right a forum to do this, but I couldn't find any forums for requests, and saw nothing in the rules against it...
As I see it right now, the Verizon Note 4 is getting a real lack of love even despite the Bootloader finally having been unlocked.
So I was wondering if anyone has a Linux PC, and would be able to port the Open Source Resurrection Remix ROM to the Galaxy Note 4 Verizon. Sadly, I do not have a Linux PC, or a hard drive I can afford to format at this moment, or I'd try and do it myself.
If anyone takes up the request, thank you.
There's really enough here to play with for a while. You're on your first post, and asking for more development. Maybe getting into some other rom threads and flashing, tweaking, repeating for a bit will fill your need. Then, after that, you can port your own roms. There are a number of roms in the international thread that are able to be flashed on our phones with data fixes etc.

So, normally help is plentiful on the Nexus S forums and I thought that here would be even better due to the devices popularity.
So far no matter where what or who the post is for or at, I have gotten no help from this community in any threads, for any issues I have encountered: I am not saying anything here to be a sarcastic idiot, but I am just hoping that I don't get 2 million people saying "WRONG THREAD IDIOT" and then not helping me or telling me where it should be...
None the less, if there is a good soul willing to help I am currently (and always) on the latest CM10 nightly build. My problem is that regardless of which version, or whatever I do, after about 4~ hours of the phone being on (used or not) it becomes very very.... low frame-y. Normally when the phone first re-boots it is smooth as butter and excellent, much like my old Nexus S yet unlike my Nexus S, it then begins to get worse as each hour passes.
It does NOT get slow.... apps take the same amount of time to load, and the phone feels as quick, yet the problem is it looks as if it is running at 5 frames a second. (This happens no matter the build and regardless of what is flashed with the ROM, but often times all I flash on top is just the GAPPS) This problem never existed on my older phones, and I really wish I could get some help for it.
Thanks guys, Eric.
I don't run that ROM so no idea if it would help but have you tried another kernel? Or tried changing governor's or scheduler

I have tried other kernels and same thing happens sadly. I will give the performance schedule a try though.
Damn. Sorry. You have these issues even after a full wipe?

This is why nightlies are Alpha builds. Random bugs and things happen.
As for the lack of help. You got to remember this is a development forum. Not a support forum. I see no mention of a logcat, things you have done to troubleshoot the issue. These things need to be done before opening a new thread

Nightlies are Alpha builds, yes. But how come my single core 1ghz Nexus S handles them nicer then my brand new dual core S3.
Also, This section on the forums is the "Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" section is it not? In the equal forum over for the Nexus S, I got help from people as busy as the ROM makers them self. Here, barely even random people come on unless it is to say that I posted in the wrong section. As for a log cat, most every issue I have ever had ever with software has been resolved by something very simply, and only twice in my life was a log cat needed. Of those two times a log cat did not help in fixing the problem I had.
Man, I don't mean to sound mad here this is just my honest experience so far. I am very used to coming to XDA with a problem and leaving with the solution I guess. That and well I am a tad mad my phone is doing this. So please, don't take offense.

The Nexus S will work better in SOME situations because those that build CM for it have ALL the needed drivers and such since it is a NATIVE ASOP firmware. The problems with any other device (specifically Samsung decices) is that Samsung doesn't share MANY of the hardware drivers and such for important things. So those that build for Samsung devices have to try and tweak things differently to make them work. That is why CM has nightly builds, sometimes with minor advancements in their tweaking and other times major advances. It takes the devs longer to work it out things.

As stated above. The nexus hardware was made to work with the open source files and drivers of AOSP. As OEM branded devices have their own closed sourced drivers. With the open source ones work? Yes but not as well.

No because the driver rely on other files that only work with files of the same type. So OEM drivers and files or OEM files and drivers.

Just FYI, asking about which Roms you should go with will be a quick road to nowhere. Just head to the development sections, read the chagelogs for what you may want, download, flash and test.

So that's why I'm posting here, to see what more experience ppl might thing that a more reliable rom would be (or setup)
thanks
That is kinda different for everyone though and how they use thier device
Also how you need to try different roms for yourself.
what is good for me might not be good for you.
If you have MK2 on it already might be the only concern.
If you are only try 4.3 or higer roms from my understanding.
And you will have knox on the phone then and no way to get rid of it.

Threads asking which roms are the best are not allowed.
Reasking which roms are the best after it's been explained that you shouldn't ask that isn't allowed.
Then asking for answers to questions that have been answered so many hundreds of times in so much unblievable depth that ANY search at all would produce multiple pages of results explaining everything is frowned upon.
Please please please search before posting in the future, especially before starting new threads.
Experience with ROM's does not matter at all in relation to which rom is the best. Only YOU can decide what rom is best for YOU. No one else can help with that process. The most experiences guy in the world might want a really simpel ROM. The biggest novice might want 8 bagillion settings to play with. Or vice versa. This is why such threads are not permitted on XDA.
I promise you that if you search first, and read multiple posts about a subject rather than ask for the answers to be spoonfed to you, that you will learn about this stuff VERY FAST. You will no longer be a novice and will be the one answering someone else's questions in pretty quick time. It's the ONLY way to learn this stuff. It cannot be learned by having the answered handed to you. It's reading posts and seeing how different variations of things have different outcomes that will quickly make you pretty good at this stuff.
It takes more time, but the payoff is much greater. You don't just end up with a mod you want. You end up understanding the mod you want.

I did some reading before posting, and I could not get my answers after almost 1 hour of surfing over a few pages in different sections. Consider also that I did root and installed custom roms for the last years on at least 10 different phone models. So I'm sure some people here might even have a harder time, understanding some things.
I will respect the forum rules and I apologies for any inconvenience.
Though, it sounds like a very communist rule not to be able to express, what you find as the best rom for you, and why you find it as the best rom, or fit for you.
Wicked v9 just came out. I'd flash that:

Its because it often degrades into a battle between one 14 year old who likes X ROM and another 13 year old who loves Y ROM who start fighting about it.
And if such threads aren't contained early, then half the threads on the forum list become ROM comparison threads and nothing of substance ever gets talked about. (Because such discussion will unfortunately never be contained to a single thread.)
And none if it has any relevance to anything. No matter what reasons Joe has for loving his rom, John might hate it for those same reasons. And you might think they are both nuts because a 3rd ROM is the best one ever.
Again, the ONLY way to see what ROM is best for you is to try different ones. It's the only possible way to make this determination.
And it takes a lot more than an hour of reading. Phone modding is not a quickie change. It's an insanely time consuming hobby that will isolate you from friends and family because you'll start to think dinner and a night out and Christmas and stuff like that can wait because you HAVE to flash the latest update to X ROM RIGHT NOW!!!!! Be careful getting into this...it consumes you pretty quick.

I am on wicked v8 and I do notice it's quite nice much less force closes and system (phone) restarts than I am used to after flashing a rom. Smooth and fast. I am just reporting my experience, I like many roms but this one does seem quite smooth and nice and has a cool installer. But ultimately the choice is yours. I can say most any ROM that's on here and available for download should be working very nicely to be released to the public, and should not have a lot if any errors. They don't let junk rom's release here with loads of errors and bugs.
So they all should work good its really a matter of seeing the features you like best and choosing from that. If you really want to compare roms read the comments made by people who use them in that rom's section and see which rom has the most people saying they love it lol
Is it too soon for aosp ROMs for t mobile yet?

Short answer: yes. The phone came out a bit more than a month or two ago. Developers cannot just whip these things together. It takes time and the right kernel and configurations. We don't want a messy ROM circulating simply for the sake of having an AOSP ROM.
Also, it's possible some developers do not want to focus on a ROM for a phone in which only one carrier has an unlocked bootloader. That certainly can make some hesitant, mainly because it's tougher to work with limitations. Take Cyanogenmod. Their developers hesitate to work on this phone for that very reason, as an example. They simply do not want to work on a ROM just for one model with an unlocked bootloader.
Give it time, friend. It'll come.

I don't know why people are thirsty for AOSP ROMs for T-Mobile devices. You lose WiFi Calling with pretty much every AOSP ROM I've seen, and that is T-Mobile's killer app. Not like there's anything out there that's gonna replace it.

Why can't we have one thread discussing AOSP without people, who obviously have no interest in it, coming in and flaming people who do? We get it, you all don't care about AOSP on your precious TMobile phones, that is fine. Can't you let those people who DO CARE talk about it in peace? I wouldn't walk into a restaurant serving food I didn't like and start shouting "why are you eating here? I don't like this food".. I just wouldn't go there. Please try to respect that other people have different tastes, in food and ROMs, and let us discuss what we are excited about without crapping all over every thread with this "AOSP doesn't have wifi calling, AOSP doesn't have LG apps, AOSP doesn't wipe my ass for me" nonsense. We know that, and we are still interested, if you are not, just leave us alone.
I tried out the other test version but its 4.4.2, I hope we get a test build of this one rather soon.

This was a few days before aosp announcement and it was about people posting in the wrong sections not aosp.
Hey guys,
Hope you're all doing well.
I've been following xda for the past 1.5 years, I'm a student studying abroad and I use my phone almost all day.
I just want to know from a person who has more knowledge than me about which is the most stable, bug free and best rom for the Sprint Note 4 model?
I can not keep up with different rom topics or posts because of my personal routine. Now you might be thinking this guy is a noob he doesn't want to search for himself, but tbh I've already tried the Emotion Rom and it has been a bad experience. So just please surprise me.
Hoping for a positive answer.
Regards,
Zeekay.

Not many people like answering questions like this, so to not offend any of the Devs. But i already gave some similar info on a previous post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71247433&postcount=25
Besides the roms i mention in the above post, there's also LineageOS, which wasn't out then. It's an Aosp rom and you can find it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/development/rom-lineageos-14-1unofficial-t3573327
Also which Emotion rom did you try? The one from this sprint section by SaintZ93? If not, I suggest you give it another chance.
To sum it up, the most current up to date roms out there for the sprint device are as follows:
AOSP:
LineageOS
EmotionOS
Touchwiz:
Dtux Rom
UN7 Rom
Maybe if you want just pure stock Note 4, you can try the Stock QB3 Rom, I have posted on here.
If anyone feels i left anything out, feel free to correct me!

There are two problems with asking this question.
What works is entirely subjective. You don't use your phone the same way someone else would or have the same apps installed. 99% of the time, this doesn't make any difference, but that 1% is when someone comes into a thread and complains that their phone no longer has some obscure "feature" that only they use.
What needs fixing... If you read the threads, the developers are generally very good at listing features that don't work, or need more testing.
I know that this thread has been open a while, and you've had no replies. I'm replying mostly to someone who comes along and has the same questions. I am going to close this thread now. Happy ROM hunting.:highfive:
