This is how to disable the "Touch to Wake" feature on your Smartwatch 3
!!!Works on every Buildversion!!!What you need:
Rooted Smartwatch with TWRP recovery
Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Advanced Settings App from Google Play Store
Kernel Audiutor 4 Wear App and BusyBox look here at the end of this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sma...24h-twrp-root-busybox-kernel-adiutor-t3365990
Use adb to install Kernel Audiutor:
Code:
adb install KernelAudiutor4Wear.apk
then move busybox to your SmartWatch:
Code:
adb push Busybox_1.24.1_stericson_arm.zip /storage/emulated/0
after that, install busybox using TWRP
reboot your watch and open "Advanced Settings" - "Screen" - and select "Touch to Wake: off"
Your Watch will reboot, after that open Kernel Audiutor go to "CPU" and change the CPU-Governor to what ever you want! For example "Ondemand".
Now go back to Home! That's it.
If you reboot your watch, you have to change the Governor again!!
I'm new here at XDA so sorry for my bad instruction. I hope I could help you. And sorry for my english, too...:silly:

To keep the display on low and not accidentally trigger the bright mode. Theater mode turns off the screen.

Yes but you must set ON after each time you want use your watch (and not forget to re set ON) so better to disabled touch screen in dim mode.

Theater mode don't turn off the screen. It disable backlight and touch to wake.
Maybe it's a setting then. Mine turns off the screen entirely.
i'm on MM and setting screen always active on Android Wear (app on phone)

I use "Showear" app to lock the touchscreen. Touch still light up the screen but touch has no action.
Option to automatically lock on dim mode. I set a touch sequence to unlock if I want interact.

Ok, So on my one x(and a second one), when i disable auto rotate, the screen flips over (so the notifaction bar is at the bottom near the buttons)
- this happens on both my phones, from 2 different networks
Notice the auto rotate widget, when it is on / normal the screen looks fine
but when i disable auto rotate it goes backwards!
(ignore the cracks )

Could anyone else try disabling auto rotate via the htc widget and see if the same thing happens?
-G-sensor calibration does not help
-if you power of the phone, then turn it back on while the screen is upside down, it comes on the right way, but flips backwards when you re-enable auto rotate
could anyone please try disabling auto rotate on the phone and see if the same thing happens?
thanks
Disabled it just now, no problem whatsoever

I have the same problem!
It just happened one day and it's been the same since... even after multiple OTA-updates.
I have to have auto-rotate enabled for it to be normal.
Has anyone found a solution for this?
I can't remember how mime got fixed!! It was ether the .29 its update or when I rooted and put a custom ROM(+kernel and everything) on it, so It is definately not a hardware issue
Mine stopped after a reset. Well I also rooted it then, but still at the standard rom.

I was hoping to find a way to have Tasker turn on PSM when I'm at work or at night when I'm sleeping. Is there a way to either get Tasker to do this or to create a scrpt to access PSM via terminal?

I was looking for this as well. I know it should be possible via an activity but I don't know where to find it. The closest I could find was in the settings app, but this only opens the settings dialog.
com.android.settings.Settings.$PowerSettingsActivity
Maybe it is somewhere in one of the samsung apps? If so it would be great if one of the devs here knew.
Don't know how to do it with tasker. Not sure it would be possible as it's a samsung function, not a native android function.
I can get my overnight power draw to less then 1% per hour even with bluetooth and cellular on. GPS and wifi affect my battery the most
If your mobile is rooted then it is possible by dpad.
First make power saving mode toggler in notification bar as attached in screen shot.
Now make task (nameower saving on)as below
1. Status bar: expanded
2. Dpad: action down-1
3. Dpad: action press-1
4. Status bar : collapse
Make same task for power saving off.
You can add in any profile like display on, display unlocked etc.

Maybe it does not matter now, but app Secure Settings (plugin for Tasker, free) can do this. And it works well.
Sorry, you're limited to 8 Thanks per day

Are there any plans to add a Samsung s-beam option?
I don't know. asked in secure setting thread instead.

Just like with the old firmware, as soon as your watch gets lower than 16% Power Saving Mode activated itself deactivating stuff like Ambient Mode and reducing the brightness. And it also turns both the display turn on when a new notification gets in as well as the vibration off.
You can turn this mode off again after it got activated but there is no way to permit that it gets activated at 15% in the first place and unless you scroll through your notification by chance you probably not realizing that it's on.
Am I the only one that find that implementation unacceptable?

How do you turn this power saving mode off after it has been activated ? It's driving me crazy too. Below 15% the watch becomes useless.
Well, it still displays time...

Swipe left to right, you then get the option to deactivate power saving mode. But it's per time; better would be to give the options in settings if we want it to go into this power saving mode.

Thank you very much
It seems to last an extra 1.5 hours with Power Save disabled. Just what I needed to finish the day in always-on mode.
In the stock roms, the only way to lock the screen is with the power button. What I want to achieve is to lock screen screen like maybe double tap home button to sleep.
There are 3rd party launcher or app that could do this, however intelligent unlock is disabled and must use pin/pattern ect. There used to be a way to bypass device admin/security policy or something.
But anyway, how can I do this while using the stock roms? This is something the power of root can solve right?
EDIT: it's okay guys, found out RiCE roms allows this bypass somehow and it's close to stock, so gonna use this rom for now. I use 3rd party screen off app and set as assistance app, therefore hold home buttom for lock, kinda buggy but works I guess.
Nova Launcher can lock the screen with a double tap or whatever you choose
No way to bypass lock screen security that I know of (security risk) but you could just turn it off, it's about as safe lol

hello,
Is there any way to rotate the always-on display to landscape mode ?
It was available on S10 i believe but i can not find it on Note 10+.
Having the case spigen crystal clear with stand included (essential S), it would be nice to be able to read the darn clock ...
Thanks !
EDIT : sorry, found it !
We have to activate the rotation of home screen in landscape mode first, and then the option portrait/landscape will appear in always-on display menu (in clock style menu).
Replying to my own thread, because it does not requires to enable landscape mode on home screen.
Just have to go to Always on display parameters -> Details -> Click on "Always on display" (left from its button on/off) and then scroll down for rotation option landscape or portrait...
It is sad that it does not detect automatically landscape/portrait. The setting must be changed manually everytime
yes i am bummed beacuse the AOD does not detect the orientation automatically

???
Double tap the AOD clock to bring up settings...
The point the OP is trying to make is you shouldn't have to bring up the settings to rotate the AOD clock.
This is something that Samsung needs to address in the next update as I'm sure it wouldn't be just the N10+ that has this issue...
If it was automatic it probably eat excessive power. Not a big deal.
As is it eats about 1% an hour of the battery when running at night at minimum brightness.
Or it could simply be the rapid box of gerbils at Samsung overlooked it along with the all the other flagship goodies they forgot. This being the least of them.

Yes… having the AOD to autorotate would be great indeed…

This is nit picking, I think. You even have auto brightness.
Likely due to having it would cause excessive power consumption.
Large sections of the mobo/chipsets are asleep with the screen off. It may be simply impossible to do due to hardware without severe consequences to power consumption.
You can alter firmware but not the physical hardware... not everything is adjustable!
Pick your poison, portrait or landscape
Does anyone know if the setting can be accessed through something like tasker or Macrodroid? I checked the Macrodroid list of 'System', 'Secure', and 'Global' settings and didn't see anything that might be the orientation?
