Just like with the old firmware, as soon as your watch gets lower than 16% Power Saving Mode activated itself deactivating stuff like Ambient Mode and reducing the brightness. And it also turns both the display turn on when a new notification gets in as well as the vibration off.
You can turn this mode off again after it got activated but there is no way to permit that it gets activated at 15% in the first place and unless you scroll through your notification by chance you probably not realizing that it's on.
Am I the only one that find that implementation unacceptable?

How do you turn this power saving mode off after it has been activated ? It's driving me crazy too. Below 15% the watch becomes useless.
Well, it still displays time...

Swipe left to right, you then get the option to deactivate power saving mode. But it's per time; better would be to give the options in settings if we want it to go into this power saving mode.

Strange, it doesn't work for me. If I swipe left to right I don't get any option (latest update 1.3).

Thank you very much
It seems to last an extra 1.5 hours with Power Save disabled. Just what I needed to finish the day in always-on mode.

I was hoping to find a way to have Tasker turn on PSM when I'm at work or at night when I'm sleeping. Is there a way to either get Tasker to do this or to create a scrpt to access PSM via terminal?

I was looking for this as well. I know it should be possible via an activity but I don't know where to find it. The closest I could find was in the settings app, but this only opens the settings dialog.
com.android.settings.Settings.$PowerSettingsActivity
Maybe it is somewhere in one of the samsung apps? If so it would be great if one of the devs here knew.
Don't know how to do it with tasker. Not sure it would be possible as it's a samsung function, not a native android function.
I can get my overnight power draw to less then 1% per hour even with bluetooth and cellular on. GPS and wifi affect my battery the most
If your mobile is rooted then it is possible by dpad.
First make power saving mode toggler in notification bar as attached in screen shot.
Now make task (nameower saving on)as below
1. Status bar: expanded
2. Dpad: action down-1
3. Dpad: action press-1
4. Status bar : collapse
Make same task for power saving off.
You can add in any profile like display on, display unlocked etc.

Maybe it does not matter now, but app Secure Settings (plugin for Tasker, free) can do this. And it works well.
Sorry, you're limited to 8 Thanks per day
Thanks everyone, these ideas you guys have make up for my lack of imagination and helps me out a bunch

My wife doesn't care at all about what version of Android her phone runs. She typically wants nothing to change once she gets used to something.
With the Lollipop update did Samsung re-enable normal silent mode? I ask because if they didn't my wife will probably throw her phone at me if I update it, lol. If they didn't I'll simply skip the update and she won't care at all to never have Lollipop. For security and bug fix reasons I like her to be up to date if possible though.
Silent mode is there, I believe I just read it in one of the threads under general.

Yes. Just tap the sound toggle twice and the phone will be in silent mode.
Tap once, vibrate mode
Tap twice, silent mode (mute)

Yes they are silent mode is gone
I was under the impression that mute/silent was gone on lollipop? And only blocking remained. People are confirming that silent does still exist? I am in the same boat of not upgrading if mute has been removed.
Silent mode (mute) does exist in the TouchWiz lollipop build.

Yes but if you now press on the night mode button then does not happen, either?
It doesn't work
Just use "Twilight" from the Play Store, I use it regularly and find it's a great app. Updated often too.

Yes I too having
Tbh... I would recommend a app on Playstore called Twilight. I have the paid version but am sure there is a free version. It's a million times better imho than the night mode as it produces a red hue and reduces the brightness alot more than the "Night Mode".
The red hue is better to read in the night and can help with getting to sleep as the "normal" screen produces a blue light which keeps you up at night.
Give it a try as it also has a automatic mode where it dims during certain hours or sunrise/sunset.

That's what I recommended also, I've used Twilight for a year or more and find its a excellent app. ?
After latest update the lock screen notifications are so dim that they cannot be read ,I am using dark mode. Also is there anyway to lengthen the time they are on screen because they are to fast. Regards
Can you give us a screenshot? I haven't noticed any problem. Thanks.
Thanks. How can I get a screen shot of the lock screen. Regards
Definitely noticed this after side loading the December update.

Volume Down button + Power button. Just make sure and Magick Erase any personal information before sharing.
That's the universal (at least on Android) method to take screenshots most anywhere.

No I'm taking about the notification pill that comes on the lock screen for about 2 seconds. You cannot take a screen shot because it will wake up phone with the power button
Are you talking about the AOD? Mine is dim too since the December update.

I guess I don't know what you're referring to, but I wish I did. How about a photo of it using an old phone if you have one available? Do you use the fingerprint reader? If you don't, I'm not going to disable mine to try to reproduce the same issue, but anything I do that shows me the lock screen (tapping on the screen, pressing the power button), doesn't show anything dim for me for two seconds.

Ah! I see. I have AOD on but I'm using AODNotify's optional feature where I have it set not to show AOD except when I have a notification, and even then to minimize what to show.
Oh well.
Hello,
I am having some troubles with AOD in 10 seconds after tapping
Sometimes I touch the screen and AOD doesnt turn on
Anyone with same problem?
Thanks

Yes.
It works better, with that option off, but still sometimes it still fails...
On my Mi9SE this never occurs...
Maybe the virtual proximity sensor problem?

proximity sensor has nothing to do with touch
try locking AOD in recent tasks and making it no restriction in battery optimization and app battery savor

It requires several taps sometimes because i think the phone goes into deep sleep after a while so it becomes somewhat unresponsive. Even when it is not in deep sleep, the aod sometimes takes a few seconds to appear in my experience.
