Bootloader out-of-date - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
I attempted to flash a ROM the other day for my M9. I got an error because my bootloader is out of date (requires 1.2.50.1.36). Is there a place I can download an up-to-date bootloader? If not, is there a place where I can download a stock ROM ZIP for the old bootloader, and then update both the system and bootloader with an OTA?
Thanks!

[Q] Finally OTA {1.28.206.9} update from UK O2 but fails to install

I'm a recent proud owner of a HOX and as a newbie after reading numerous post decided to root my phone
have done the basics using the useful thread HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit V1.0
Unlocked bootloader
Installed CWM 5.8.3.1 recovery
Installed SU
applied the Tegra 3 fix
This morning received the OTA {OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_O2_UK_1.28.206.9-1.26.206.2_release_25} update from O2 (yay) , however it failed to install automatically.
I've tried to install via recovery but no luck.
Do i need to re-install stock recovery and re-lock my phone before re-attempting? Or is there a way I can do it without those steps?
You need the stock recovery to flash an OTA updates (and not be rooted)
Best way to get it...
1. Back the phone up
2. Flash stock recovery
3. Relock the bootloader
4. flash the o2 1.26 RUU
5. Flash the OTA when prompted
6. Restore your data

[Q] Update at&t version converted to developer edition

Hi, im not sure if im on the right place to ask the question, but i have a S-off rooted, original at&t but changed cid to developer edition, now, its rooted with twrp recovery, S-off, and developer edition cid, i got the upadte notification to android 5, downloaded already, should i start updating, or do i have to change anything ?
You need to put the stock recovery back for the OTA update, then put TWRP back to root the install.
Yup need stock recovery easiest way is to flash the stock backup do the ota then flash twrp and root once on lollipop, make sure you use beta 2.44 superuser zip

Help please for a noob question.

Hello all developers, I have a noob question, please guide. I have ZenFone 2 running on stock android 5.0 and it is rooted. Now I have to flash custom roms and mods but also want to update stock Rom to android 6.0 whenever ASUS provide updates. So I have a simple idea as below -
1) Install flashify app.
2) Take backup of stock recovery.
3) Flash CWM.
4) Take nandroid backup.
5) Now I can flash custom roms.
6) When ASUS provide updates, flash nandroid backup.
7) Flash stock recovery through Flashify.
8) Full unroot from supersu.
Thus my phone will be fully stock and I can update stock Rom to android 6.0 .
Will this trick work; please tell. I am eagerly waiting for your replies.

you have to unlock bootloader if you want to flash custom rom !!!
if you unlock bootloader with official tools. you cant receive any update from asus with OTA. but you can flash full stock rom with twrp via sideload or edit stock rom zip then install with twrp.
somebody can unlock bootloader without official tools (i dont try) and they can update OTA
srr my english

Thank you very much for the information. Btw, can I make changes to stock Rom without unlocking bootloader and revert back to fully stock phone when OTA comes with the above method ?

just root and xposed. but you can receive OTA until unroot and delete xposed (if you know how to)

How I update the bootloader?

Hi,
I have a N5 with pure nexus e twrp.
With the new july update there is the new bootloader. I have installed the last pure nexus but the booloader is the old.
I need to update the bootloader? How I can it?
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
You don't need to update the bootloader as long as your aren't switching major Android versions.
If you want to flash the bootloader: download the factory image and extract the bootloader .img file. Flash that thing via fastboot.
Or you can simply do it via flashfire. In the settings is an option for flashing the bootloader.

Can i install update manually even if i have unlocked bootloader.

Hi i am a zplay user i have unlocked bootloader and i am in 6.0.1 and i have stock recovery. Can i download 7.0 and install manually please help me
if you have stock rom and unlocked BL, you should recieve official OTA updated. But yes, you can flash 7.0 or 7.1 manually.
