Hi guys,
I would appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction here. I am looking to enable Boomsound for Bluetooth/Wireless Headphones. The new Boomsound works great while I have the headphones wired, but the same feature is grayed out when I connect it to Blueetooth.
Is there even a way to do this.
Thanks for your opinion.

No. The Boomsound circuitry only works for wired earphones plugged into the earphone jack.

I read somewhere that back in 2014. HTC had a it working on Bluetooth but they removed it due to interference issues.

Hey fellow EVO's!
I'm looking for a solution to the poor audio quality when recording in a high volume setting (concerts, jam sessions) when using the internal microphone.
Yes, I know that it is not the phone's main use as a personal recorder for this sort of scenarios, but as we all know, the iPhone does it a lot better and I'd really like to show up the iPhone geeks if possible by using an external mic with a recording app.
There's this multifunction audio cable from HTC that I've been thinking about buying and it's called an HTC YC A300 Multifunction audio cable. You can find it on Amazon.com
Any experience, creative ideas, development or anything of that sort that would help me out would be great as I'm sure other people would be able to benefit from the info as well!
Thanks in advance...
I haven't done it, but there is a microphone input in the headphone jack -- it's intended to support a wired headset. With the right cable you should be able to use an external mic.
The app Tape Machine records uncompressed wav files. Even with the internal microphone, it actually makes very decent recordings.
Thanks for the reply guys.
Do you think trying a Sony ECM DS30P might work? it's a direct connection compressor microphone.
I will definitely check out Tape machine. I've got the lite version now and i'm eager to try it now! Is it successful in loud environments?

It's better than the built in mic of the phone. Far, far from decent though.

That completely depends on the quality of the microphone, and how sensitive it is.
Well, I just bought myself one of those nifty little Sony compressor mics and I'm going to see how that works out. I may need a convertor to go in to the headphone jack so it recognizes the input, but I'm not sure.
Another way you could go possibly would be to us one of those multifunction cable things. The model is called: HTC P6300 Multifunction Audio Cable YC A200. There's also a YC A300 as well but I'm not sure of the difference between the two is besides the size.
Any new findings?

So i got that sony mic and a convertor so the phone thinks i'm using a headset...and with some apps, with the convertor it works and some, without, it works too. The only issue i'm having is that the internal mic is still on and working while recording. I want the external mic that I'm plugging in to be the ONLY mic it's using and I'd like to control the input volume.
Any insight as to how we could do that?
I have been looking for a solution to this for over a year. It really sucks that everything else about the device is great except this one feature. As for the iPhone, it sounds like Apple has utilized some kind of filter to reduce the bass the phone records (in my experience, the bass is what causes the distortion in the recording).
If Apple can do it, why can't HTC? :?
I have learnt that this new cell phone is equipped with this hi-fi codec like S3. Is there any S3 experience of this feature shared? Any recommended BT headphones to match this feature?
I use my HS3000 with my S3 (and One X before it). Cheap, has Apt-X, versatile since you can use whatever IEMs/headphones you want with it or connect it to stereos/speakers etc.

Your headphones must also be compatible with Apt-X, otherwise, it employs normal BT protocol. The BT device and BT earphones or speakers must all have Apt-X to make it work.

I am quite aware of that, thanks.
Did you even look up the HS3000 before writing that?
It HAS Apt-X, you can connect whatever headphones you like to it and you will be enjoying Apt-X sound because the HS3000 as the receiver has Apt-X.

Did you mean Apt-X does not help improving the sound quality via BT? Or the Samsung devices are not good in Apt-X. In principle, BT with Apt-X should be better than without one.

No idea how you got that out of my post, no idea.
I will just stop here, because your insistence on trying to teach me about Apt-X is annoying.
Ignore my recommendation for a nice Apt-X receiver if you want.

Listen to the Nokia BH-610 Essence. In ear BT, passive and active noise cancellation, apt-x, nfc. Spec wise I don't think there's anything out there to beat it.

Lollz, just ... just lollz ... you may try as hard as you wish, you'll never beat the stupidity out of the people surrounding us though. Sorry for totally out of topic post, but I just laughed my **** out by reading this thread and could not resist writing this D
I use the HS3000 also and it has aptX. Sound quality is excellent. Plus it's a very affordable blue tooth receiver with aptX codec.

Best and pricy option...
In terms of output volume, are any BT 'phones or adaptors like these noted for being more powerful than the others? I.e. do any have good built in amps?
I've just done an extensive test of the speaker , Bluetooth, wired headphones and quad DAC using a large selection of headphones. Type C too.

Use this thread to add any other audio reviews you've liked plus headphones you're using that sound great with the V30.
Any questions too. I'll try and answer what I can.

Nice update Gavin
Wondered if you anyone tried the Sound magic E80's with the V30 and what they are like

Thanks mate. Not yet, but I’ll see if I can get a pair and let you know.
Thanks OP, watched the video, but still had a question. So far I have not used any headphones or seen the DAC settings. However I have used the USB out to my car audio system and it works perfectly, short of DSD, it plays everything else fine. It looks like its playing DSD but I dont hear any output.
My question is does the DAC come into play with the USB or is it bypassed?

I have them. They are my favorite IEH. Sound great with the V30 and trigger the HIM. I have about 4 different sets but haven't tried any from the article.

That is good to know. Will have to try and get some ASAP.
There are 3 variants of E80
The first E80, has no mic only audio
Then came the E80S, has mic but only one button on the remote
And now the E80C, has mic but 3 buttons on the remote, like what you could expect with stock earphones
Reviews are good with LG

Thanks for that link.
I have the E80s. I believe the actually earphone is the same with all models. I like controlling everything from the phone, so never use the button on the headphone. Depending on if you need the extra functionality, you can save some money by going without.

It's so rare for me that I'm not sure.
Got the Fiio F9 3 way balanced hybrid In ear headphones yesterday. Even just using the 3.5mm non balanced cable with Quad Dac in normal mode, the pairing was outstanding. Quad Dac off was very noticeable worse.
Hi, nice video and review gavi...
I made a coment and question on youtube about that video, maybe you did not sow it so i past it here again anyway:
¨Nice video. Thanks Gavin. I am interested in this phone especially because of the audio, so this video is the best that i could find. But i have a question to make you, if you will so kind to answer me.
when you say trigger the DAC you mean the Amplifier? Because my guess is the DAC can be activated no matter the type of headphones impedance. Yes or not?
So the audio quality should be pretty much the same if not perhaps a little more stable, flat frequency variation.¨ Thank you in advance.

Has anyone use in pair with Sennheiser PXC 550? How do we know if the phone is using Aptx or not? Since PXC 550 support this codec, though its not the HD

And this is greyed out
Those settings usually come on with Bluetooth earphones that support UHQ Audio such as the galaxy buds or Samsungs Level On earphone range
attached headphones and that setting will become active
Ok cool thanks gonna try both, I just remembered once I turn Dolby Atmos off I was able to control that setting hell I think, takes me a year to remember all that the Note does.
It's only working on wired headphones.
With the Galaxy Buds no go, but with the type-c ear buds it becomes active.j
Thanks guys
Hi guys, anyone might have an idea how to bypass the stupid EU limitation on the audio jack volume?
Last time that I've done it it was so easy!
On a Pocophone you need to change the region outside EU and the audio DAC is enabled, louder and clearer audio.
I really need this as I have some professional studio headphones and his phone has the weakest volume of everything I've tested with, other phones, laptop, tablet.
No need to tell me to change the headphones or buy an headphone amp please.
Many thanks!
