If you really like this phone post it here, and show your love. For those of you that purchased this phone and have minimal to no bugs post what you like about this phone. This thread should not turn into A hate or a thread on whats wrong. The goal here is to see how many of you got phones that worked well like most of the reviews that are out there save a few.
Don't get it twisted either this is not meant to discredit any bugs that are manifesting out there, but to factually find out if there are more non issue happy ONE X users over the bug plagued users. Soooooo....if you have this phone and it works well for you post your experiences here. All of you that have bugs keep it in the bugs thread please.
Again this thread is just to find out if there are more happier users than bugged users lol
Great thread.
I love this phone, from the 4.7" screen that looks like the pixels were painted on by Pablo Picasso himself to the micro drilled speaker grille.
My heart melts when the mighty beats icon flashes up in all its red glory whilst firing up Spotify, the smooth scrolling and lighting fast response from any app it gets a sniff of.
When I pick this bad boy up it doesn't need my gentle touch to open up but so familiar are we that it simply unlocks like an old friend opens his door when you come calling by....and I call by often.
We were meant to be together, I am my One X and my One X is me.

My first android device was the original Desire (always remained original with the official rom i.e. never rooted), secondly owned a SGS (10 months) now it feels like back to home btw with the SGS I have tested many custom roms, gingerbread and ICS AOSP roms, MIUI, CM7, CM9 etc etc
Android + Sense, especially the Sense on One-X is a perfect mixture. I really feel the quality when it is in my hand, convenience and safety in one place, fast, smooth and responsive. Absolutely the best android experience till today.
The screen Man! Its amazing!!!!
Thread starter, you do realise a lot of satisfied users are happily enjoying their one x and didn't bother to look into this thread right? I don't think doing a comparison this way is accurate.
Personally I have a problem free one x for the past 9 days. I love the way sense was built for our convenience at the same time look stylish. All came out of the box rather than some UI that looks so "iphone" boring. Glad that the battery life is more than enough as my daily driver. All device comes with their pro and cons. For the One X, what more could you ask for?

It very well may not be However; this is a beginning. I know the reviews mostly were great so now I want to hear from people that are happy, and using this phone as opposed to the bug complain thread. This way when I talk about possibly wanting it I wont hear about all the unhappy XDA users. I can then say that there are plenty of happy users, and if that wont happen , maybe I should look to purchase something else. I watch this forum anticipating the Sprint EVO ONE 4G LTE.lol
100 views 6 replies man is this all the One X love there is?
Loving this screen, SoundHound integration, cameras shutter speed, sound quality and volume of it.
In first few hours couldnt bare how this device feels comparing with SGS2 which is feels much slicker but now kind of like bit "full" hand feel of OneX. Finish is lovely and this handset is incredibly light for it's size.
only thing I have problems with is the power button on top... but I guess that will go away after a while.
Great thread . My God the sheer negativity in this forum regarding the ONEX made me almost not buy it , thank God I ignored you people
best phone I ever had .. and I owned Iphone 4S , Galaxy S2 and a Galaxy Nexus _ which I still use _ ..
I have more bugs in this phone than any other phone I have ever seen or had. Its a freagin basket case and by far my favorite phone ever.

I must tell you this is why I posted this thread...so much negativity. I understand about the bugs and things but damn......seems to me that it's turned into something else.
I don't want any haters or bug posting issues here I want just love for a possibly great device for people to see that it's not that bad of a device if this thread turns out the way I hope. If not then the phone must really be bad if people can't support the phone they bought that many are tearing down.

Coming from my trusty HD2 which has served me great the last 2.5 years the One X is a major leap forward amazingly fast!! However I got a faulty unit with broken camera but that does not break my love for this device. Apart from the camera it was perfect. Smooth browsing, lag free gaming and battery life.. well that will be better and better with the coming updates
Now I'm patiently waiting for my new device and just can't wait to hold it again.
my Precious!!
2012 should be an interesting year, I think the 1X is the first of the next gen smart/super phones!
Awesome display which makes watching videos and gaming even better on this phone
No bugs till now and I just love it

Hello, I am the owner of a Nexus 5 that replaced my first HTC One M7. I loved it for a while but I am getting tired of signal issues on Sprint. I was seeing what this forums opinions were. Should I wait until a new One comes out since I have an upgrade in February, or should I just go ahead and purchase the HTC One now outright and keep my upgrade? Or should I just stick with the Nexus 5 for the time being? Thanks!
From what I understand the "new" M8 coming out is just going to have the 13 mp camera. If that's worth waiting on to you then I say wait. I personally didn't care because the 4 mp ultra pixel crap is just fine for my usage. Looks good on the phone and is good enough for social media.
I just got my M8 about a week or two ago and it's still a top notch device and IMO worlds better than a Nexus device. I don't understand the obsession with those. Stock android is nice and all but sense 6 is a lot better than pure stock android IMO.

Dear all,
time has come (and I got a great deal from my provider) to leave my beloved ONE M7 and upgrade to new phone.
My obvious two choices (both at the same price) are HTC One M9 and the Sammy S6.
I have never owned (apprt from my first free smartphone 8 years ago a crappy Sammy) anything but HTC and I must say that all in all I am quite happy with the company.
That been said I am in big dilemma this year which one to choose.
I was hopping to help with my decision giving me some feedback from your experience with M9 (especially after the camera software update).
Warm Regards
Both will be a great upgrade from the M7, although that in itself was also a lovely device.
That is a hard decision. I chose the HTC m9 because I'm on at&t and the Samsung will probably never get root. If the s6 was rootable (which it should be for you) I would have bought it no question. The camera on the s6 is the undisputed champion of cameras on smartphones. The camera on the HTC is fine but not great. The new design of the s6 is more exciting this year, while the HTC is about the same as last year. From what I've heard, the s6 is very speedy and fluid but so is the HTC. Decisions decisions.
Ive had the s6 for 2 weeks. Beleive me get the htc. Theres some rubbish things about it
I have been scathing of the M9, but the more I use it, the more I appreciate it.
Simple things like being able to get straight out of the dialer after a call to the desktop without a long lag, the ability to get vibrate or silent mode like Kitkat simply by turning down the volume, SD card storage (128gb S6 will be a unicorn I think or silly money), a perfectly good camera which performs equally as good as my Note 4 did, very fast operation, and equal battery life to the S6 are just a few reasons I went for the M9.
The lag on the S6 will be minor but apparent on the S6 after a little while of use, and a decent camera is no substitute for a lack of storage, fragile body, and huge protruding camera modules.
upgraded from the M7 myself didnt need to really as its still a great device, im loving the M9 just really waiting for original development to kick off properly, flar2 already working on his EX kernel which i know will eventually be awesome, development on HTC's is pretty much 2nd to none so is always a major plus for me, anyway I couldnt be happier with my choice to go with the m9, the camera nis very decent once you tweak the settings a bit and im sure this device will only get better with time and more mature software, its a hard decision granted and i doubt you will have regrets regardless what you choose. just my 2 pennies
Thanks a lot everyone you have been a great help.My mind is made up so it's M9 all the way! I have to wait a couple of days to get my hands on it but I am sure it will be worth the wait. Just one more question coming from the M7 was it easy to transfer contacts photos and music to M9?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Free mobile app
I use HTC backup via dropbox for my settings, manually backup my music and photo's to my PC and all my contacts are stored on google so was completely painless, once complete was all setup in samreway as my M7 apart from a few minor settings,
Also there is a feature that pairs your devices via NFC and can transfer everything to your new phone via bluetooth but I didnt try that.

I just upgraded from a DNA to M9. I transferred almost 6 GB of music wirelessly from phone to phone very quickly. On the M9, go to Settings, scroll down to the Personal section, and tap on Get Content From Another Phone. It'll walk you through it. This for me was the easiest and fastest way.

Good choice. Other than the camera the s6 isnt as good as its hyped to be. Screen has awful whites and weird yellow . Pink. Green . Blue tints all over devices. Ive had 2. One was yellow. Next was pink. Its an issue all over xda. Most have this horrid problem. Touchwiz is boring. Design gets boring. Its almost too light. Like your holding air. Audio is pants. Battery sucks. Even with a custom rom. I havent enjoyed the s6 atall. Mainly down to the horrible screen tints that seems to pretty much be on all the handsets. Smh
I am using two devices for some time now, but I've had some issues with my S6 Edge, the screen rotation problem and give back to samsung and they returned back my money. HTC so far one of the best devices (M9) I've been using long time. So for so good except camera. Camera shoots bad quality photos compared to s6. 20,7mp camera is not better than m8's camera. If the camera on m9 was better, much more people would choose htc.
Between these two and ONLY these two? Probably the S6. Personally, I'd go for the G4 next month. I had massive problems with my S6, exchanged 3 times, gave up. Got the M9 for $300, and when compared to the $700 S6 it's a winner, but if the price is equal...

you asked in the HTC place, most will say M9 is better lol
I had the m8, and I'm just like you. I'm and HTC fan since the nexus one but I wasn't sure about the m9 because of the incremental update and the camera review but guess what.. I got it and its amazzzing !!
BTW, the camera is great just needs some tweaking thats all.
I never liked samsung or LG or most of the other phones, they really feel cheap but HTC feels damn premium.
Since you on the m7 it will be a big step with the m9, go for it and congratulation in advance.
Get the M9 unless camera quality is super important to you IMO. My S6 Edge had the rotation bug and I was not willing to risk getting stuck in a loop of getting defective replacements so I got the M9 to replace it. I'm not regretting it.
Things I did not like about my S6 Edge:
-Accelerometer defective out of the box
-Clueless and useless customer support. HTC support is way better
-Edge was very "sharp" feeling in hand
-Curve screen made things hard to type. Inside of my palm near my thumb kept "registering" on the screen as being touched.
-At certain angles, the whites looked pink
-Back button is on the right. WTF Samsung?
-Physical home button is still ugly, I don't like it.
-Phone is extremely light. Feels like a toy.
-Poor memory management. Apps had to keep reloading even when I had just used them.
-Touchwiz STILL has microstutters.
Things I liked about the S6 Edge:
-Screen was much brighter and more vibrant than the M9
-Camera took way better quality photos (which were upside down for me due to the rotation defect)
-Finger print reader worked flawlessly, way more convenient than PIN unlock
-First Samsung phone to look high quality
-Came with a fast charger. WTF HTC? Can't afford the extra 50 cents per phone?
-The speaker was surprisingly loud. Louder than my M9 (not nearly as good sounding, but still louder.)
I have both the m9 and a 128gb s6 edge. I love both devices for different reasons. They are both beautiful devices. That said my s6 has become my daily driver but really love both devices. I have my tablet sim in my m9 and do use it daily as well.
Having purchased (finally) my M9 I have to say after playing a bit yesterday with a friends S6 that I have no regrets what so ever. Touch Wiz is a nightmare and although the quality of construction of Samsung has apparently improved M9 is still a lot more robust and still feels like more premium. In fact my friend after playing with my M9 while I was playing with its S6 he commented "damned I made the wrong decision". BTW the let them stare motor of HTC is right on from what I can tell. Thanks guys for helping me make the right decision. ?

I had the s6 for 3 weeks. Samsung's quality control is shocking. Everything about the s6 is over rated. Screen is horrible
I had the G5,had to take it back because of gps issues. I traded off for the S7. I am taking it back because of annoyances I just can't get over. I also had it over heat using gps and I can't have that being I use it for trucking.
I need to know how gps is and your opinion of its flaws and upsides. Keep in mind I did have the M8 and M9
. .
I love my 10. GPS works great for me but I've never used it for longer than an hour or so. I doubt you'd get overheating issues though since the metal body acts as one big heat sink.
Battery life has been great for me, I average 6 hours of SOT with a full day's use. It's so much better than my old m9 that would only get me through about half a day. I'd definitely recommend giving the 10 a shot. The differences between it and the Galaxy S7 come down to personal preference really.
Eh. I miss CM, or more importantly, Bliss Pop, but so far, it's alright.

I've owned the S7E and can provide some input.
Simply put, they are built for different purposes. The S7 proceeds with water resistance.
- video recording quality
Subjective opinions inlude
- screen type. Led Vs LCD
- design, glass Vs metal
- UI, touchwiz Vs Sense
- Camera quality
HTC 10 proceeds with sound quality via headphones and speakers.
- USB-C
- less bloatware
Cannot comment on GPS as I have not used it. The software on the 10 is very stockish if that's you're thing. I do miss the Samsung themes.
You can't go wrong with either device but I have to say I love my HTC 10 ?

I've had the S6, S6E and the Note 5 and the theme engine on the HTC 10 is so much better! You can mix and match all the elements from each theme so if you don't like something from one theme you can change just the thing you don't like etc.
Been doing my research and thinking of getting the HTC 10. Just wanted to gauge users overall satisfaction.
Currently the only vote heh, so I'll elaborate on my "It's alright" (the cons). I don't think there's a worthier replacement for it, but there's definitely room for improvement.
- The captive buttons are a touch too low, just enough to be a minor inconvenience physically when reaching for them, and sometimes more when you miss them by a bit.
- I like the fingerprint scanner being a touch scanner (don't need to press it), but since it acts as a home button too, it's prone to accidental presses. I also just prefer a physical home button, my preference when it comes to feel. Ideally it would've been an actual button, but also touch sensitive just for the scanner.
- The screen could be brighter. Not a deal breaker, but it's less bright at max settings than my old m7 it replaced.
- Battery. I wish they put in a bigger one. It's quite alright when it comes to battery life, but it's just that the phone is thin enough in my opinion that making it a bit thicker for a 3600 battery could've definitely helped, and be better instead.
- Extremely minor, but still - the boom sound icon shouldn't be there when I'm playing music, if BOOM sound is turned off.
Not a fan of decryption.
It's already turned into a headache for me.
It makes being a flash-a-holic tougher.

I have had mine for 2 weeks or so. I like it and keeping it. That being said... It's not perfect and don't think there will ever be a perfect phone. I'm on Sprint and coming from a LG G2. Coming from a G2 I'm always reaching for the buttons on the back and touching the camera requiring lots of cleaning for good picture. And I miss some of the customization of LG homescreen layout. The 10 is fast and responsive. Battery is great for me and quick charge is awesome. Takes good pics but usually requires some user adjustment prior to taking. Hopefully updates can make for better point and shoot. Some minor annoyances of getting used to a different phone after about 3 years with the same phone.

I have the Unlocked HTC 10 modified to be a Verizon phone. Had the M7, M8, and M9 before this, and really like it. The brighter notification light and less carrier bloat make it perfect. It's fast, does not overheat, and has great hand feel.

Most recent phones just the past 12 months;
- OnePlus One ( Which I still have as a backup )
- Galaxy Note 5 ( Rooted and ROM'd )
- LG G5 ( Owned for like a week and returned for various reasons )
- HTC 10 ( rooted and running LeeDroid )
Out of the above 4 phones I have had within this year, I surprisingly still like the OPO a lot more than I'd ever think, mainly for the wicked awesome CM13 ROM's out there, and amazing development community on that phone., but the phone is showing it's age of course. Th Note 5 was really nice, but just got sick of Samsung and the MAJOR wait for MM was insane, not coming out till like late April / Early May, putting it like 7 to 8 months after the Nexus devices originally got it, that's inexcusable. The LG G5 not a bad phone at all, actually feels really good in the hand, and overall a nice size, and the G5 battery was shockingly very good, giving me 6h Screen On time with ease. But the screen was too dim, not bright enough, the display was very poor and cheap, and sucked outdoors, and the build quality seemed just ok, and the development community almost nonexistent, I gave up after one week, it was an ok phone.
The HTC 10 really is cool, fantastic build quality, but the screen isn't the best outdoors either, not like a recent Samsung phone, which are outstanding on sunny days. The development community for the 10 is GREAT, and hoping to see a solid CM13 eventually on it. But little things irk me, the stupid lock screen weather deal, I don't want to have to have GPS enabled to see the weather on my lock screen, why can't I just enter in a specific city, and have it show the weather based off the city I choose ? And I seem to have issues with selecting a different lock screen wallpaper than the home screen, it just never sticks, only shows the same wallpaper as the home screen I set. But could be the DPI I changed ?
Also, themes on the HCT 10 sucks IMO, compared to Samsung, ( And I am no Samsung fan whatsoever ) But the themes on Samsung, really transform EVERYTHING on the phone, the pull down quick settings, to the phone dialer, to Messaging, to Settings menu. Look at the AOSP Themes for a Samsung phone, they radically change the look of the phone big time, throughout the entire system. I have yet to see HTC's themes offer anything like that ?
Battery life seems pretty good with my tweaks, I am getting 5.5h to 6h Screen On time.
Most likely will dump this phone for the new Nexus this September.
I love it! The best phone on market for me.
But those ugly stock quick settings...
The first ever android phone in many years i havent rooted. Enjoying the phone rather than flashing constantly. Best phone out there currently, but looking forward fo next LG

Thanks everyone for your votes and replies so far. Most seem to love their phone so far. I guess the results might be biased as most of those that hated it would likely have already returned it and wouldn't be on this thread in the first place.
Two things I've been following concern me though, and I'm curious if any of you HTC 10 lovers have experienced these problems.
The first is the Gap-gate (or Mind the Gap), where people have noticed a significant gap between the bezel and the aluminum frame. Most the people complaining so far seem to have the white face model.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/gap-screen-frame-t3376620
And the second is the fact that more than one person has claimed that the HTC 10 has destroyed their SD cards.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/htc-10-damaged-micro-sd-card-t3385664
Interested to hear the view of HTC 10 owners that maybe have had their phone since release (ie a couple months now).
