hi....
my opx had a system cleaner (junk/cache) or something like that while ran on h2os.
I recently migrated to oxygen, which doesn't have it.
is there any way to have it?
any help will b appreciated.
TIA
OOS have to but not so special like H2os cleaner only for cached data ... You can open in setting - storage and wait while computing the usage space after that click on cached data ..
Go to Settings > Storage > Tap on Cached Data.
It will prompt you to clear cache, tap Yes.
yap...I found that.
but the h2os 's one is more specialized one.
isn't there any way to fetch it for Oos?
Download sdmaid pro its paid but a google search can give you free one

I'm using "app cache cleaner pro" works perfectly.

Hi Guys.
Looking for a little bit of help
Hope this is in the right section.
Basically i have had astro file manager on my phone for a couple of weeks now.
I use it too move the odd file hear and there and clear internal caches etc.
I also use it too delete folders full of stuff i no longer have.
ie. I uninstalled xscope web browser but there was still a folder for this in astro so i deleted the folder.
Should i be doing this??
Also is there a better way too clear all of the unwanted stuff from my phone like the folders with nothing in etc??
And is there a way i can clear all caches from my apps to free up a little space every week?
What do you guys do to ensure there is as less clutter as possible?
On a slightly different note how can i arrange my folders within my pictures so that i can have sub folders like family, friends, 2010 holiday etc etc?
Im sure i have a million questions but ill get these first ones out the way first
Thanks for your help
And FYI im running android 2.1 unrooted on a Virgin HTC desire (don't know when ill get the update through was led to believe the 15th september)
any help on this.
I went through my apps individually via settings > apps > manage apps
sorted them via size and cleared all the biggest files cache.
Freed up 10mb of space.
What damage am i doing or what information am i losing by doing this though??
Or will i notice no difference myself when in these apps with cleared cache?
Theres an app called "quick app clean cache" its not free but very cheap, works as a good cache cleanner for non rooted phones, you can clean all cache with 1 click on a rooted phone but on stock phones the app lists every app thats got a cache and tells you the size so you dont have to check every single app.

What info will I loss though. Anything important. Market has 3mb cache. Will it effect me deleting all caches

You mentioned about folders on your sd card, but the threads about internal space?
Deleting caches will generally only delete thumbnails etc which are there to speed up file browsing. You wont loose anything important if you delete them.

No, they will only go if you clear the data from the app, not the cache.
You can delete any cache files, they shouldnt effect anything, the browser, market, facebook & youtube ushally have the largest.
Some apps like facebook, twitter & movies (flixster) seem to grow in data size (not just cache) when you use them,
clearing the data deletes all info so dont clear data on anything like contacts or anything important, but on those 3 its ok as it just means putting your user name & PW in again and reactivationg the settings/notifications. Shouldnt take more than a min or 2

Quick question for someone that knows more than me, if I delete an apk from the system folder on any given Rom will that remove the app and install it? Would it leave any remnants behind to possibly drain battery? Thanks for any info.

Technically what's left behind won't drain battery as there isn't an apk to run, but you may want to wipe data for the app you're removing since the data will remain. You can do that through settings > applications > manage applications, then the "all" tab. Find the app you're going to remove and "clear data". This will also clear the cache. Or you can use Titanium Backup to wipe the data of the app. If you're going to use Titanium, you may as well just uninstall it from there. If you have the pro key for TB you can also freeze the app.
Ok thanks a lot.

Hey.
I wanted to know if there is a good cleaner app out there ? I have installed a lot of software and then removed them again, but there are still files and traces of old programs and i wanted to get rid of all.

That's the one I use I bought the Pribkeyandcstill unsure of the extras but corpse cleaner, duplicate tracker all kinds of good stuff.
Another more simplified app is Cache Cleaner NG. You can details a time spit clears cache once a day preventing any lag like that's even an issue on this phone

Well. I preffer Clean Master: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard&feature=search_result
What I like is that every time you uninstall an application, immediately informs me if this has left residual files and gives me the option to remove them, has a widget for each I want to stop applications running in the background (which you can filter that not hold), and that every so often it shows the cache left by applications that you remove as you wish.
Is excellent!
Hello,
So, I'm wondering if there is a good app out there that clears the system cache as well as cache from applications? On my S7 Edge, there was a cleaner built into the settings under storage. There isn't anything on this pixel, and assistant for android doesn't actually clean anything out now either (guessing it's not allowed in Oreo?). I hate to go through app by app and do this manually every now and then. The reviews of apps I found on the store were hit or miss. I even downloaded Norton's cleaner, and it didn't actually clear the app cache like it said it does.
Please and thank you!

They removed the option since Nougat I think. I used Norton Cleaner on my 5X and it did a good job clearing the app cache. What didn't it clear for you?

I checked some apps before I ran it, it said it cleaned out some stuff, but it didn't look like enough. Anyway, I checked the same apps after I ran it, and nothing was cleared. Is there a setting somewhere I'm supposed to change? I looked around but didn't see anything. Uninstalled it this morning.

Hmm. Just gave it a try and look like it gets app cache for some but not all apps. Like YouTube looks like it was cleared but Instagram wasn't. [emoji848]

Yeah, I checked Facebook and Messenger, nada there. Those two are a couple of the biggest offenders too.
I haven't really paid a ton of attention to how efficient it is, but I like HTC Boost+. It's got a pretty interface, pretty versatile options, and I trust that HTC has made some decent software.

Just gave that app a try and it's seeing different cache numbers as well. The app sees Instagram with 99 MBs and app info for Instagram shows 428 MBs. Maybe all these cache cleaning apps aren't viewing the right data?

Hi,
My SMS app isn't working; I strongly suspect that I accidentally clobbered it while using Titanium Backup to port apps and data from my old phone. The symptoms: if I press the message icon next to a name in Contacts, the screen briefly shrinks and re-grows, and the SMS app never appears. If I long-press on the SMS app itself, it gives me a "New message" option; picking that produces a composition window that quickly disappears.
The first thing that came to mind was to re-flash the Oxygen release. Unfortunately that didn't work. Anybody have other suggestions? (OnePlus 5T, Oxygen 4.7.6, Android 7.1.1, build ONEPLUS A5010_43_171225)
Clear app data. If that doesn't fix it, download the apk in Apk Mirror website and see if you can install the version compatible with Nougat.

Thanks for that advice. Clearing data didn't help, so I re-downloaded. That version ran but I still couldn't launch from the home screen. So I replaced the home-screen icon and now all is well. (No idea if it was just the home-screen shortcut, but it doesn't matter since I have a solution...)
Thanks!
