Try getting 601+ serial no phone with warranty. Not sure about 100% bootloop free but definitely 601+ is recommended.
i'll look for 601+ then, thanks a lot
If you go to reddit to the bootloop post, you can see only people with sn between 505 and 511 are having problem. I searched a lot and could not find one 601+. But I guess it is too soon to tell since most of broken phones started appearing 7/8 months after the phone release.

If buying second hand, ask the seller for the IMEI and then look that up online using: https://imeidata.net/warranty/lg
It will tell you the manufacture date to be sure. I bought mine recently and it was a Feb 2016 model so I'm hoping LG had this sorted by then.
Dual sim don't get much bootloops.
How I can heck my serial number? I don't have box from my telephone. When I use code *#06# I heck IMEI but where is serial number?
Sorry for my bad English.

I thought the serial no issue was just on sn: 505 - 508, that bootloop was more likely to happen when rooting / unrooting.. and the IMEZ sticker on the back of the box was (1.0), my new onw is O2 UK, Brown Leather, sn 506, but IMEZ is (1.1), not sure where I stand then..
Plus also, It onlly happens to SOME G4s, but not ALL..

If your device is PVT1 then it's a motherboard issue.

As I know there's no applicable cure except MB replacement. But first check if it is PVT1 device.

mine is a pvt1, so if it is out of warranty it is just an expensive paperweight.
it works fine if i put it in the fridge for a 10mins or so.
thanks for the answers

That's the symptom for the PVT1 MB issue, only the replacement of it can be done, but it costs more than a phone.
it is pvt1, it only happens when its warm out in the sun, other than that it works fine
If you have your phone on guarantee then by all means replace you MB asap. It will get even worse. Had the same problem. Though they were replacing it twice... Good luck!

Was wondering if flashing a custom rom would fix the dialer proximity but that doesn't disable the touch screen when you bring the phone to your ear? Would appreciate it if anyone can confirm this before i go through the trouble.
I had same situation and only on 4.3 it works well. But I sent my phone to Sony repair center and they gave me a brand new z1c 1 year after buying. It was related to hardware issue but in new phone I had similar problem but it occurs from time to time decently now it's better with new phone

Are you sure its a hardware isssue? It feels more like a bug. I also sent my phone into sony and they replaced it with a brand new one but it still has the same problem.
Please check if ur phone has a proximity sensor inbuilt..What is your phone model?

Upgrading wont help cause sony wont patch bug. Does anyone know if flashing a custom rom will fix this problem?
Flashing a good custom rom will fix the problem if its a software bug

On Munjeni rom 108 it's same with proximity dstrikers rom also on Lp is worse because when you click on status bar it automatically drops down buy on kk it automatically revert back. It's very annoying for me because I make a lot of calls. In service test proximity is OK.

Ahh, so I'm not alone.
I picked up a cheap Z1C from eBay because it had this bug and the guy selling it got screwed around by the service centres and just had enough so sold it.
So how often does this happen? Anyone got any idea about that?
I doubt I can send it back as I have no receipt. I only bought it as I figured there would be a way around it.
If I go into the service menu, *#*#7378423#*#* and choose Proximity Sensor it is just on. If I can change it so it's just off I can just use the power button manually so my ear doesn't press buttons while I'm on the phone. Currently you can't hang up or navigate through the menus some places have when you ring up.
Tips are appreciated.
The power button trick will do good in case of such bugs..but maybe flashing a custom rom will solve the problem

I had tried that but got no result, so I put my SIM back in and tried again. I held the power button a bit longer, instead of just pressing it, and the screen came on.
So you're right, I can work around it but it's a bit irritating.
While trying to sort out what the problem was I found the Diagnostic option under the About Phone section in settings.
While testing things I discovered the ambient light meter doesn't work either, I suspect they're part of the same module so if I have no luck chasing Sony up I might just do it myself.
Trouble is there isn't a service centre in my city so I've got to post it interstate and I'm not the original owner, that shouldn't matter but might. I guess I'll find out.
Hello,
I am using LG G4 dual SIM version in India since june 2015. Suddenly few days ago phone refused to start, it was dead. Service centre person told its MoBo problem. Since its not available here, I will be getting new piece under warranty.
I am really wondering why there should be an issue with motherboard of new phone?
What precautions to be taken to avoid such incidence in future? What could be the basic cause? Any thing related to charging or power fluctuations?
Kindly help.
Regards
Is serial number 505?
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Yes, its serial number which begins with 505 KPCA061251.
Hi,
Since I will be getting new hand set as replacement, should I ask for set with serial number other than 505? OR this MoBo issue was specific to 505 manufactured in specific time period?
How to proceed? Hope I wont face such issue again.
regards

Hello everyone, I I hereby ask you aid, I have a nexus 5x so everything worked correctly and it suddenly turned off and now it is in a boot-loop a few hours after he gave his last breath and now he does not turn on, can not enter the bootloader, recovery, fastboot or download mode, but however when I put the phone charging it gets the notidication led red, can you help me?
I read this below form a reddit post it might pertain to you.
"That means that battery is deeply discharged, it is the way for the device to notify the user that it will not power on and charger needs to be connected."
https://www.reddit.com/r/nexus5x/comments/3rbr3b/nexus_5x_red_led_of_death_after_running_out_of/
Maybe try a different charger.
Hello same problem. I already replace battery to new charged battery and nothing change. Same only red led blinking.

Same problem here, phone shut down and is now dead. But sometimes it is able to load the bootloader. I have not found out how I can reproduce this. If I leave the phone charging over night and the battery is full then it doesn't give any feedback to the power button or power+vol down combination. If I let the battery run down I get the blinking red LED and sometimes even the bootloader.
Just trying to boot into fastboot, flash system-image and back up a few minor apps.

I have never seen any prove that a 60x device has the bootloop issue. I own 2 devices starting with 60x serial and using them both since almost 1 year without any problems and on heavy stress tests (e. G. Benchmarking, backup, development )
I cannot guarantee anything but I trust the 603 and higher serials.

i do have seen them.. but its different, not massive like 505. i say chances are very very low from 6xx upwards.
i remeber seing everydays tons of people reporting . seems like in fact the 510 were fixed still have failures but not in the same quantity
I've heard(but only heard) that 602 bootlooped. I can't confirm this as mine is also 602 and for past 5 months its working like a charm. Not a single issue(excluding stupid Google play services which crashes all the time when I turn off screen and I have to turn them back on to use Google Apps.....)
