Hi Everyone. It seems alot of people are having the same problems I had. You can not look up your order. Using quick order lookup with Order number and passord says invalid order or password. Order Lookup with Order number says EMAIL_MISSING on digital river website. OR other order lookup on htc.com says enter a valid email address when you are entering a valid email address.
Also Trying the forget password says invalid email address so you cant even reset your password. Here is what I did. I contacted htc through a message here(not chat, they cant do anything really)
https://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM...=htcus&Locale=en_US&ThemeID=38736100&Env=BASE
What you need to tell them is you need you password reset because you can not look up your order because it doesnt think your email is valid or the password is right. You get all the above errors. Give them your order ID and Email address you used or got your order confirmation to. Keep riding them till they send you a email with a password reset link. Once you get it ( i got mine after a day asking twice) reset it. Make your new password.
Go back to login here
https://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM...=htcus&Locale=en_US&ThemeID=38736100&Env=BASE
Once you login for me atleast I looked under order history nothing showed. but go to the order lookup that asks for your order number and password and it should show you your order.
Hope this helps. It drove me to almost cancel my preorder.
I'm having this problem as well now. And I'd honestly rather just wait for a shipping email/confirmation than drive myself nuts w/ customer service reps. It's crazy that all this is necessary

Yeah it is crazy. Its like when you place your order it takes your email for updates but its never stored in to look up your order or to make and account like it says. It should be sending out a new unique password after you order but it doesnt.
Even when trying to reset password on that digital river link
Keeps saying invalid email.
So I'll have to contact HTC like you said, hopefully it gets working soon.
Already posted this in shipping thread but I'll describe what I did again here hoping it helps more people
go to this page:
https://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM...=htcus&Locale=en_US&ThemeID=38736100&Env=BASE
click forgot order password
In the popup if you scroll down there should be a prompt for just an order number, click submit and it should send a password reset URL to the email used when ordering. Then it should prompt you to enter a new account email and password. After resetting it took 20-30 min for it to actually let me log in.

Edit: oops, wrong thread, but thanks for the info
When you look up the order, use internet explorer instead of chrome, I had this same issue and I know IE sux but it will let you see the order status. In chrome I get the invalid password or order number error but not in IE. Actually you can even look up the order status on your phone. In the Google Search, just type HTC order lookup, go to the site, put in your number and password and boom!

I purchased Launcher Pro Plus yesterday but I never received any confirmation email or any code to enter. The money has been transferred but I can't seem to figure out how I am supposed to get the code to enter and use this.
I tried going to the launcher pro website but it has been down all day so I have no idea who to write to or where to go to get some answers. Any ideas? Is there some known issue with the website or is the developer MIA?
You should have received your key immediately, did you check your junk mail with the account associated with your papal?
There is an option under LPP settings to unlock launcher pro plus, from there you can retrieve the unlock code.

It says that the email address is not in the database. I know it's the right address. I'm thinking they didn't add me yet even though it's been over 24 hours. I don't even know who to contact since the website is down.

Until you get the code, you may want to try Go Launcher (it's free). You may change your mind ;-)
Just email the dev, Fede. He'll take care of it. [email protected]
All,
Why all the fuss to Chevron Unlock or any other hack when you can just register it as a developer phone and unlock it officially for free????
Oh, maybe you all didn't know about the free part, maybe that is the piece of magic everyone is seeking...
Here is how to register your phone as a developer phone FOR FREE....
1. Get and verify a Dreamspark account. Two options here....
a. If you are a student with an email address ending in .edu just go to www.dreamspark.com, register and verify the email address.
2. Create an Apphub account and link it to your Dreamspark LiveId.
a. After Dreamspark is verified, go to http://create.msdn.com/en-US/ register your Windows Live ID and signup as a student. It will ask if you have a verified Dreamspark account, follow the steps to link the two accounts. (I didn't take screenshots but intuitive)
3. Populate your required profile information to the point that "My Dashboard-->My Windows Phone" does not show any more pending tasks.
a. You MUST go through the process to submit a "DummyApp" for Windows Mobile 6.5 to Windows MarketPlace before Geotrust will send you the email to verify your identity. Just put "Dummyapp for id verification" in the notes sections. You will have to upload a .cab and a bunch of icons that all have to be sized properly. Just take a .png file and resize it a bunch of times and upload it. Doesn't matter what it is.
b. Geotrust will send an email requesting you to verify some info. I received it about 10 minutes after submitting my app, but could take 24 hours. I answered 4 questions, and then about 2 hours later Apphub took off the "identity verification pending" alert.
c. I also submitted my bank account info, but not sure if this was necessary.
4. Download the Windows phone developer tools from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=04704acf-a63a-4f97-952c-8b51b34b00ce
5. Run the Windows Phone Developer Registration tool. Sign in with Windows Live ID you registered at AppHub, connect your phone and make sure it is not screen locked, viola, Windows 7 Phone now unlocked. And you can unlock 2 other Windows 7 phones too for a total of 3 phones.
Total process took less than 24 hours due to waiting on Geotrust and MS confirm.

This is only for students,so its not really an option for everyone

I assume he ment that Dreamspark is for students that cannot afford the software but can bring in revenue to Microsoft with the program and games they create. So, if you signup under the guise of a student, you can kind of defrauding Microsoft. But I guess that is a moral issue, so most people may not care. But, there are also schools and online classes that do not provide any sort of educational email addresses, so having a way to gain access as someone studying and taking classes, is nice. So, in those cases I think its ok. I personally use a Austraila.edu email since my online classes didn't provide anything. But, this might be a nice way to get an unlock if you are NoDo and can Go(do) back.
I keep getting the following error when I get to step 2a:

Any ideas what that is?
EDIT: weird.... I just tried it again (for the fourth time) and it worked. So if you get the above error, just keep trying.
I live in country that App hub does not support. Can anyone help me please?
AppHub confirmation step3 is disabled and NEXT button not working
Hmmm only have one problem.
You have to submit an APP and does it come up in marketplace ?.
Dont know how to get a "Dummy APP" to put on market for Winmobile 6.5 or 7.
If you can just put in a random app witch does not get in marketplace then i guess its no problem.
*edit*
Made a Winphone 7 app that does not have any purpose, lets check what happens
All this works.
Sadly I failed the geotrust verification, so I have to send a signed document with a copy of my national ID. Let's hope they believe my history about living in the states but having a ID of another country.
All works fine until i had to verify my account after publishing the dummy app. But now verifying failed and i have to send them my copy of id etc. But how the hell could i send them my info when i give them fake ( generated ) info?

Sadly it'd require me giving you my Windows Live ID & password, which I'm not exactly fond of lol. You need to enter it into the unlocker tool installed on the pc the device is connected to. Just folow the information giving by the OP closely with your real information (don't make up a fake ID) & it'll work. It took a couple hrs for me to finally get verified.

No because it contains my id and autograph.
But its very simple, just print the mail they snend you, fill in everything add a copy of your id, scan it and email it back. Its not even a letter, just add what i said above as your motivation.
Did you received the email from geotrust?
****, I'm stucked again.
The apphub doesn't let me choose my country, so I chose USA and now geotrust rejects my documentation because it's not from the USA.
Ahh, Microsoft, always fu*king the third world.
Hi I'm new to these forums and I must say I love them! There's so much useful information!
So I thought that when buying this tablet I would get a bunch of free stuff. (50 gigs of dropbox, free linkedin pro for 3 months, etc...) I can't find any information about this anymore, I'm I missing something? Does anyone have any clue how to do this? I have already registered my device with Samsung btw.
Thanks in advance,
- Olivier
You should receive an email detailing the offers, sent to the address from which you registered your Samsung account. BTW, some of the offers, like the NYT access, begin from the time you register the account, NOT from the time you first access the offer. So, the first time I tried to access the Times premium content, it told me something like my premium access trial had expired, and asked whether I'd like to continue with a full-price subscription?
HA! Not likely...

Have you registered your device via the Galaxy Perks page?
Log in to your Samsung Account via a web browser (you can use the above link). Click on your name in the upper right, and select "My Profile". Verify that your device shows up. Sometimes just logging in to your Samsung Account via a web browser seems to trigger it, so it doesn't hurt to try even if you know you already registered your device.
Have you added the Samsung Account to the Note 2014 yet? If not, launch Samsung Apps and sign in with your Samsung Account when prompted. You might need to press the menu button and then select "Sign In" if it doesn't automatically ask you.
If you have, remove the Samsung Account, launch Samsung Apps and sign in again.
If you've done all that, you SHOULD get the "<NAME>, your gift for registering..." email at the Gmail account you specified when you registered.
Submitted by device identifier, been waiting for the email with my unlock file for about 15 minutes now.

I am having trouble with it as well. I am actually resetting a number of my old devices so I can sell them, one of them being my m8. I locked bootloader too early and need to unlock it again. Sent the code in, but no email yet. Seems it is very slow to send the email out at the minute. I have reset 3 other phones back to factory settings in the time it has taken me to get the email, which I am still waiting on!
Well that is strange. Guess I'm stuck waiting for this dumb email. Not sure why they can't just generate the unlock.bin on the website and have us download it. I hate waiting for automatic emails I always have the worst luck with them.
Edit: well I used the site contact form to send them a message about this, and got a "we received your message" email instantly. COME ON HTC

Alright, I used Firefox this time, created a new account with a different email. Submitted my identifier again. Nothing yet.
FINALLY got it lol
Just about finished setting up my 10 now. Need to finish factory reset procedure on my m8 and lock it, but that is tomorrows task!
Hello, as I am now aware after the fact, I did a lock boot loader 'factory' reset thinking that wiped he phone, I sold it, and now I guess it needs my login to proceed. Question 1 is, is there any bypass for this? 2. Is there a safe way to temporarily give him a temp password or something? Appreciate your help
I do have 2 step verify turned on

If you change you password now, he will have to wait 72 hours. So you could do that and you could give it to him over the phone, give him about two seconds to enter it and then you change it on your end.
Or you could do it with your current password, but you probably used it elsewhere.
But that is risky. He could just log in via computer and change it and own your account.
Can you meet him in person?
Or he sends it back to you.
Those are the only options I know of.

Cant he just log in to his google account and go to his list of devices and remove that device from his google account ? If he removed it from his google account should not someone else be able to add their google account to it ? I"am curious on this to as I will be selling my one pixel xl as I got a 128 to replace it.
On Htc devices normally you can do a RUU and it will put it back to 100% stock removing your google account, but yeah this is no Htc unfortunately it is but its not lol.

None of that will work.
It's called FRP. Factory Reset Protection. It is to stop exactly what you describe if someone steals it. Can't reset it and use it. You have to manually remove the Google account before you reset it and sell it.

I believe it will work. If he logs in to his google account on his computer he can find the devices attached to his account and remove that device id from his google account then the guy that bought the phone can remove his google account from the phone and put his own google account on the phone. The guy just needs to remove the device id off of his google account on line then the purchaser can add his own google account.
There's not a single response from original poster. I would give this one a wide berth with respect to suggestions by community dogooders.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I guess no bypass exists for the latest version of Nougat, I offered to pay shipping both ways so that I can properly wipe the phone, but he doesn't trust I will send it back?..hmmm..
Under devices in my Google Account I can "Remove account access", what will this do, this almost sounds like it will solve the problem but Im not sure exactly what this means. Will it not allow that phone to access my account any more or will it un-attach my account from the phone so that He can use it? Thanks again for all your help, lots of good suggestions
Edit: Im going to try Rydah's method...2 step verify, give pword, authorize from my phone, then change password back

I"am not sure what that is, but didnt you have a sec tion that listed attached devices ? I have had that option on my google account and I did physically remove a phone that I was selling. I believe it was like a year ago. If you cant find it maybe you can get support from google such as online support. Honestly I think the option to remove the device is in your account settings when logged in to your google account through a browser such as google chrome or firefox.
Next time, remove any screen lock security on the phone, reboot, then do your factory reset. This will allow anyone to setup the used phone under their credentials.

That alone will NOT bypass FRP. He has to remove his Google Account under Settings > Accounts before doing a factory reset. After that, I always go back and make sure I can set the phone up while skipping the Google Account login.

You would think they would implement a feature that allows you to remove the lock remotely. For example with icloud's find my iPhone you can go to iCloud.com and remove a device if you want to.
Flash-all.bat before you sell the phone and all will be well. Hopefully you do this going forward for anew new sales, lol.
Can't you just remote wipe the phone from the android device manager webpage?
