Hello everyone.
I have an HTC One M8, which has been converted to GPE, running Android 6.0 MRA58K. Last week I was out of my country and while I was travveling I got a local SIM to use mobile data at a lower cost. The phone however, would not connect to the carrier's network until I manually selected it in mobile network settings. This also started happening after I returned to my home country and switched back to the SIM of my home carrier. This was with both MRA58K.H10 and H12 versions of the stock GPE ROM. However, while I was updating the device to H12, for a short time the phone didn't have Xposed or root, and during that time the phone would connect to the network automatically as usual. When I re-rooted and installed Xposed again, it would no longer connect.
I know it's just a minor inconvenice, but it does take a good 30 seconds for it to search for networks and register. How would I start troubleshooting this?

I have the very same problem with H6 and H12. After every boot I need to manually select my network. Searching the networks takes ages. Phone is unlocked and s-on, it runs with sense drivers, but gpe rom.

Hi All,
I'm hoping someone out there could help me with a very puzzling problem I've been having since yesterday on my HOX.
I recently moved back to Australia and bought a SIM from Vaya, who use the Optus Network. Everything was working fine for the first 4 or 5 days, but since yesterday, I have been unable to connect to the Optus network for the majority of the time and when I have been able to, it has only lasted for a short period and then I lose reception again. I did not make any change to the phone in the last week, besides regular automatic updates to installed apps like Facebook, etc. I have also tried the SIM card in another phone and it is working fine, so figure it must be a problem with the phone, and not the network or SIM card.
When I try searching for networks, sometimes I can see YES OPTUS, and when I try to connect it gives me the message "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network", and other times it just cannot see the network at all, even when in the same location where I have full bars on another phone. I have rebooted the phone several times, gone into the phone diagnostic screen and set the radio bands to AUS, AUS2 and back to Automatic in case that may have been the problem as well.
I have a WWE HTC One X, CID HTC_001, bought factory unlocked, rooted, S-ON running:
Rom: ViperX 2.7.0,
Kernel: Faux 010m
Baseband: 2.1204.135.20
Build: 2.17.401.2 CL89015 release-keys
HBOOT: 0.43.000
Any ideas?? I'm just really puzzled by this since it was working for the first few days and just stopped working overnight after nothing that I can think of has changed
Nobody?
make the setttings for the internet urself..or try to use another SIM card in ur phone and see if you still have that problem ..better use a sim another carrier..
I had this problems and a manual configuration for the internet resolved it
Yeah, it's not an apn problem, it can't connect to the network provider at all (to make phone calls or sms's).
Having a little trouble getting my hands on another micro SIM, but will hopefully have some luck soon
Good day.
I have a E975, from Orange (Spain).
I unlocked the bootloader with Free Gee
I had the last stock update from my provider, the one that allowed 4G networks. It worked correctly on stock.
After a reboot, it doesn't connect to the mobile network, but it does connect if I go to the network settings and pick the correct network (Orange).
It doesn't connect either if I choose the "Automatic network selection option", I have to manually pick the network.
It happens to me using CyanogenMod and Paranoid Android, in their last versions.
Does this happen to anybody else? Is there any solution?
Thank you.
EDIT:
Fixed it.
I restored EFS from FreeGee.
Thank you.
Got this phone from a friend and immediately flashed the last CM 14 Rom before they shut down. Flashed the experimental Lineage Rom then started the Nightlies. It's on the most recent Nightly now. The issue I'm having involves the SIM card, and now bluetooth (though that only happened once). I can't get it to connect to the network. It was an AT&T phone originally, and yesterday I finally got it unlocked to use on T-Mobile. The card is registering, I see the triangle in the status bar, but none of the solutions I've found can make it connect (the card works in another phone). When trying to connect to the network it eventually just times out. I can't even add APN settings as they won't save. This morning it forgot previous bluetooth connections as soon as I clicked on them. I'm thinking I need to flash an older radio.img but I can't find anything that isn't almost 3 years old. In addition, I can't keep the SIM unlocked. It asks for the SIM unlock PIN every time the phone boots, and the Security setting option is grayed out so I can't even turn it off. Any ideas? Is this all related to being S-on? Based on what I've read, I was under the impression that didn't matter anymore.
Hi everyone, good morning
I pose this problem ...
I updated my GT-N7100 from the stock version 4.4.2 to 7.1 RR, which is why the phone was no longer lit. The Samsung word appeared looping at its ignition and no reset options worked.
All after the battery suddenly abandoned me!
After the upgrade, unfortunately the mobile network is no longer detected, or rather, the phone does not hook up the signal even if mobile networks are detected (select networks, Vodafone, Tim, Wind, Tre).
If I try to hook my network manually (Tim), the error is the inability to record.
I checked IMEI and is present, and, as mentioned above, networks if you look manually are seen.
I've downgraded to version 4.2.2 to figure out if the problem was about rom, but even with this version the network is not hooked up.
I also tried with other sim, but nothing in fact.
Unfortunately the backup I made did not go well and did not save the files in the EFS folder .... the badge sees us well !!!!!
Do you have any suggestions?
I also tried to reflect the rom Viper, but no change in the network ...
What other tests could I do? Thank you all!
Recently i have entered some state in which mobile data is busted on my phone. I have tested multiple android pie roms to find the same thing in each. When i flash the latest stock android (PQ1A.181205.002), mobile data is fine. In this broken state i can see the signal bars with a little 'R' by them (notification on lost mobile data connection Data roaming is turned off. tap to turn on). Every time i navigate into Settings> Network & internet > Mobile Network > Advanced > Carrier Settings. The screen will flash and take me back to Mobile Network, this happens with every custom rom tested. The app SprintDM tries to set up the phone 5 times and then fails. Phone codes seem to have no effect. the code 4636 will allow me to view current info in which it says mobile data disconnected. It doesn't appear to matter if i connect to wifi and allow the basic stock apps to update first. Reboots do not help. I even tried flashing the modem and radio for PQ1A.181105.017.A1 and OPM4.171019.021.R1. I can also say the phone app shows a message "This device is not supported and phone calls may not work correctly". Phone calls work fine. Previously i was running LiquidRemix (10.0.2) just fine, everything working. Randomly mobile data died so i tried a update to LiquidRemix (10.0.3) and still busted. Tested multiple other PIE roms to find the same. And again if i flash any stock firmware mobile data is fine. Anyone else see this or have an idea of how to fix this for custom roms?
I rooted my pixel2xl yesterday and installed Havoc OS.
Today I was out with my family and was trying to navigate via Google maps and it continuously displayed error "try again"
Status bar was showing lte connection then I tried opening chrome and was unable to use mobile data even if it being on and active.
I am planning to move to Stock again tomorrow

vipulkarkar, did you find out any other additional info on this? I went back to stock and everything is fine but would very much rather be running a custom rom.
Just seeing this post, fortunately, I've not run into this issue on stock or custom roms ... What I do run into, on stock or custom roms, is when I leave my house, with a T-Mobile CellSpot, I tend to switch to 3G or H+ in an LTE area. I sometimes have to cycle airport mode a couple times to get LTE back.. So odd and annoying!
Is there something we Sprint users could do to help the devs include Sprint connectivity in their roms? Like provide a nandroid backup of our device or ?
