well this is really weird i have sony xperia Z5 Premium Dual E6883
i was on locked bootloader and i was face sometimes overheating issues and very slow charging
i managed to fix that with force shutdown device with volume up and power buttons let device charge with power of for a time
then turning phone power on and let him continue charging
now
i unlocked bootloader to try some roms and kernels so maybe it will fix this issues
overheating and charging very slowly still and nothing changed
and idea what i can do ? what is the cause of this is it a hardware bug or what ?
Hopefully it's not a hardware fault and something fixable. Sorry for asking but are you definitely using the correct cable? The one that came with the device. There are some cables that just don't supply enough current and cause a slow charge or don't cover enough input vs. what the device is using as it's trying to charge.
I bought this cable (hopefully the link works)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141825316...49&var=440951901515&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
It's the best charging cable I've ever had It shows you at the connection how much volts and current the device is pulling and has a switch to change between fast charge and standard usb speeds. If nothing else it could help identify if your device is not pulling enough power or if it's something else.
mine was like this as well, ive had it for a month now and lately its been perfectly normal. I think the snapdragon 810 is just a hot CPU.

wow. no I don't have this problem and I haven't heard of this before.
Have you tried connecting it to other chargers besides the OEM ?
Yep.
Tried OEM Motorola Atrix Charger and through usb. same issue =\
Check if you have fastcharge on

Fastcharge is off
Should I turn it on? (Im using AOKP)
By the way, if I do reboot while my phone connected to AC power, its being charging successfully after the process is finished.
(sry about my english )

You could see if turning it on helps, but it isn't necessary to charge the phone since its a hack. If you do turn fc on, remember you will have to turn it off if/when you plug your phone up to a comp to transfer files.

Yes, I've seen this multiple times on my Sprint Gnex. Seems to happen mainly when I'm running AndChat with poor signal. If I don't pay attention to it it seems that it'll start charging again. Haven't bothered checkin into it that much but my suspicion is that it may be getting too hot.

Guys, I had this happen to my phone within a week of owning it (a week after release). I almost returned it, but fixed the issue myself. the issue is with the charging terminals touching in the USB/Charging port. Get a flashlight and shine it directly into the port. You'll see the outer part of port is metal, and in the center is a 'tongue' that is also metal, these are the 'terminals'. In my case the tongue was very slightly touching the outer terminal - probably due to the times i carelessly shoved the charger into the port (sometimes upside down). This essentially bent the tongue downwards, and when the two terminals are in contact, the charging circuit is short circuited. I fixed this by taking a pin (though anything flat/thin could work) and pressed the tongue in the opposite direction. This centered the tongue, and by being careful when plugging in my charger, it's never happened since.

freaked out last nite when the same thing happened to me - thanks this solved it!
Hi guys,
I love my HOX, and all the G3 fans can bite me (had to take it out).
Now, my only issue, is when i GPS (Waze/iGo) i need to charge the phone obviously.
but after 20-30-40 minutes the phone show me blinking green-red led, and i understand it stop charging.
Anything to do with this ?
its big issue since its making the GPS kind of unusable for longer trips.
10x,
Chura
Hello, do you use a 1 amp car charger ?
Unless, the only solution i have seen from here is to "fake" the car charger as an AC charger
but i never had to do such thing by chance ... i never use GPS on long travels ...
Looks like some car chargers are seen as USB charger with limited amps ...
Modifying the cable or using another one makes phone believe it's on AC charger
and gets more amps to charge.
I'm aware of it, and i was about to make the change before i noticed the Green-Reg led.
how will it help to increase the Amp if the phone stop charging anyway ?

Red-green led is battery over heat, meaning your battery was at or above 48c. If you're rooted you can limit your phone too two cores which should help keep temps down.
If not then you will have to take breaks from GPS till its sorted by software update. I assume its using more Cpu/cores then needed, only a theory.

Thats basic design, how come HTC didnt get it tested ?!
worth openeing a ticket about it ?
i really hate to say this, but its deal breaker for me.
Does anyone know if the SGS3 have heat issue's also ?
EDIT: Opened ticket with HTC, hopefully for good news with some firmware upgrade or something.
Hi there,
well, it depends a little bit which charger I use but one some I have the bad experience that when I have the phone connected to power the display just goes crazy. Means that as long as the display is turned on it pushed/touches automatically some areas in the display without stopping. So when I want to do something I have to disconnect the mobile first and than I can work with it.
As someone similar experience or knows how to solve it?
Thanks
Stephan
btw. it happens also with different mods
LOL same sh!t happened to me today too.
I moved in another USB slot from PC and seems that issue is gone. But until today I didn't had this issue. Maybe is the polarization +/- from the charger.
Happens to me also with an universal charger. Touchscreen is almost unusable while charging and laying on the table. But seems to work fine if I hold it with my hands (grounding the aluminium body). This happened also with my Motorola Defy with the same charger. But it didn't have any metal components on the outside so it didn't work correctly in the hand either.

Scary
Hehe, first time I saw this was so scary, ghost in the phone.
That should be the charger. I have two non original charges one of then with 1A and the other with less. First of then affects the screen sometime and the other never gave me that issue.
Hope this helps.
Yes. It's because of the voltage fluctuations that the screen starts to react weirdly. The same happens when you use a non-standard AC supply too. Don't keep using that charger and/or USB port for long though.. it will cause damage to your phone screen and more so to the battery.
Yes, specially with blackberry chargers

Hi,
I have the G Pad GPE and was wondering if anyone else is having problems with the back of the unit getting very hot (especially the top) and laggy while playing games (Asphalt 8 in my case)? At times it also gets very hot while charging and when it does so it stops charging. I'd like to see if anyone else is having these issues before I contact Google for a replacement.
Thanks

If you charge it with the original charger, on stock rom, with the stock kern, and it "stops charging" you should just get it replaced, regardless of others having the same issue or not.

Thanks. In general it charges slowly which I see is pretty common. When it overheats (~40°C) during charging it basically stops or charges extremely slowly. It doesn't happen all the time though. When it doesn't overheat it charges ~25% per hour. Regardless of the overheating, is that charge speed normal using the stock charger and cable?
BTW I am stock everything right now. Waiting to mess around with it until I decide to replace it or not.
I have the same problem but myne is not GPE. It is very hot! and laggy i had replaced once but the new unit also has the issue. I dont know how to fix it.
My no longer lags any more apart from the occasional HIC up when watching long 1080p movies

Hey guys,
first of - sorry if this is oftopic.
I notice heavy charging issues on my g4 intl. The phone just won't charge probably.
I'm running on the latest cyanogenmod nightly, everything else works fine.
Cyanogen says "slow charging" even when I plug in the original cable, or a quick charge wallplug. With all micro USB cables everything is fine for a week or two, but after that everything repeats again.
It seems like the phone cuts down the input power to 300 milli amps or so, while "charging" the battery percentage is going down sometimes, too.
When the phone is off and plugged in, the charging is slow too.
But sometimes everything is fine for a charge or two.
Does anyone have the same issue or have a solution?
Greetings from germany
Okay I found some guys talking about this here, but is there any final solution for this?

It happens to me too, stock ROM, cm13, aosp, no difference.
I have tried changing USB cable (only cable) and device begin charging normally again.
I don't think it's something software related..
But if you have already tried with another charger and problem is still there..
I'm really frustrated. I don't know what is happening to my g4, since 2 month's I noticed heavy red screen ghosting, too. The phone was already repaired once from lg, there the problem was that it won't boot up anymore.. Next time I won't buy lg..

I got problems with display too..
Both lateral sides are brighter than the rest of the screen.
Especially with dark images it is absolutely horrible.
Will never ever buy LG anymore.
same problem here with the ghosting and the super slow charge some times battery goes down even while plugged to original charger, had a G2 before this, love the phone was almost flawless, this one I had it for almost a year now, piece of **** full of problems, now after the lates OTA the unlocking is retardedly slow, I double tap for unlocking the screen wakes up but dimmed and unresponsive and after a second it fully wakes up, I'm so frustrated with this piece of ****, the only good thing is the camera. Btw regarding the slow charging problem, I tried with different batteries and chargers and same results (I'm fully stock, no root no nothing)
