so what about HTC 10 ?

I believe HTC 10 has a pretty low 377. It's the one thing I dislike about the phone. Anything less than 500 is just not good enough for phones these days.
really !! is it 377 ?
is it enough or less for the phones ?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
377 is fine for most indoor uses. Still, it just seems ridiculously low. That's about equal to my G4 at 70% brightness. I like my display bright.
The 6P is 337 and the G5 is 354. It's fine.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The LG G5 is supposed to hit upwards of 800 nits.
I do say "supposed to" . A few reviews claim it's somewhat dim while others say extremely bright.
I just hope the maximum brightness on the HTC 10 is at least as bright as my G4 at 75% - 80%.

Then there's the fact that the S7/S7E have an undefeatable power save mode which when it kicks in basically halves the brightness (and drops CPU clockspeeds) which also affects how the battery life tests playout vs the HTC 10.
I would expect the 10 to have around 400nits brightness, that's a little lower than what the M9 had. Certainly more than enough.

Strange.
According to these reviews:
http://www.alphr.com/htc-10/1003202...rtphone-return-to-form-but-still-not-the-best
http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/mobile-phones/1404600/htc-10-vs-lg-g5-which-is-best
Display maximum brightness is 449 nits (or cd/m^2). If it doesn't have brightness boost on direct sunlight like Samsung or LG, I will be disappointed.
No idea if those guys even know how to set max brightness. Lol.
I've tested both S7, S7 edge and M8 side by side. S7 edge is brighter than the S7 quite obviously, and FAR brighter than the M8. Which is brighter than the M9.
I'll test next to the HTC 10 soon, but I HIGHLY doubt it would be lower than M8.

One X. There's more to life than meaningless benchmark numbers; the One X's feature set is far more complete, especially due to the vastly better screen.
There are numerous threads on this already. And this is the one x section. So I assume those in this section will get the one x.
http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/2/2919202/htc-one-x-review
PLUS THE ONE S SCORES HIGHER IN SOME BENCHS BECAUSE IT'S RUNNING IN MUCH LOWER RESOLUTION, QUARTER THE AMOUNT OF PIXELS
both chips trade blows, s4 has the edge in single threading and T3 has the edge in multi-threading and GPU @720p
gettting tired of this job...
Doesn't take a genius to realise the One X main selling point is actually that devine screen and size equally the One S pentile and QHD is a major hurdle
screen is what sold iPhone4, SGSII and Galaxy Nexus
My benchmark results for the One X in the attached graphs,
very short:
Quadrant: 4951, 13 259 CPU (!)
Nena Mark 1: 58.2
Nena Mark 2: 47.8
AnTuTu: 11609, great read and write speed of the memory card!
The values differ significantly from the results of most of the testers from the net, especially the one that assign the One S would perform better ... They either have tested a "Monday Device", or have i a super-device? Test it yourself
Sorry for the big pics...Upload from my phone
The inside gossip, is that the One X is far from optimised yet, and it WILL get faster after firmware updates. They are still maximising utilisation of the quad-cores. It is quite possible the One S will always beat the X for single threading tests.

One S: 540*960= 518400
One X: 720*1280= 921600
The one s is rendering 44% less pixels. How did you guys get 2x or 4x the pixels on the one x?
GLbench Egypt 2.1 shows at the same resolution the one x is only about 10% faster. You won't really notice the difference. The Adreno 225 often gets bashed as a hugely inferior GPU but it practice, its actually pretty decent.
Some benchmarks where one s leads are not skewed by resolution. Linpack is resolution independent. While in Vellamo only the flinger tests (where both are pegged at 60fps) are resolution dependent.

Antutu has never let me down for benching, as it supports true multi-core testing.
Vellamo is irrelavant, it was made by Qualcomm (Snapdragon) - so, its results are biased & flawed.

Considering the current obsession with increasing screen sizes, this hits the nail on the head. The GS3 is already flirting with being too large. Anything bigger is really overkill. I have a tablet for my big screen needs.

Oh, I like GS3's size as well. However, I'm not interested in anything larger. I really hope that the rumor of the Galaxy S4 having a 5 inch display is not true. That would be crossing over into the Note/Note 2 territory, and there's a reason why I didn't get the Note. Of course, this is still pure speculation, and I really don't think that Samsung will release the next Galaxy S phone less than a year after its predecessor.
Size is personal choise. I only have an S3 as a get-by until the Note II is available (sold my Note while it was still worth something). I can't wait for the bigger screen. I understand not everyone wants it too.
I tried playing Asphalt 7 on the GS3 and it was just WAY too small, I could never play a fast paced game on this screen. That said I still love my S3 :good:
Screen sizes are perfect right now. 5 Inch might be a bit over-kill. I love the SGS3's screen size. I think they should work on colors and contrast ratio's, as well as low brightness mode.

Yes! Less size for the galaxies and focus on display quality, build quality and battery life.

I was comparing the displays of One X vs Note 2 the other day and was very surprised too see that the display of Note 2 was much sharper! The same image was evidently blurrier and hazily on the One X's screen in comparison to that on the Note 2.
I'm not talking about vibrancy, colour reproduction, true black, true white but simply sharpness.*
I wonder if there is some sort of image processing mechanism built in the default image viewer of Samsung?
Given the size (4.7 vs 5.5), same resolution, higher PPI, true RGB, the SLCD 2 screen of the One X should have been equal or better than Sammy's?
The reason why I got the One X for my girlfriend was because she never likes the over saturated colour of SAMOLED (ie. Sammy S3) and much prefers the natural tone of LCD but looks like when it comes to sharpness there really is no contest.*
I have been a user of Samsung Galaxy line since the S1 and now I have the Note 2 but I absolutely love the screen on the One X, just find it a bit puzzling that the former is sharper while technically it shouldn't be!
This is in no way a troll or a wish to start a flame war or anything like that.
is not logical what ur saying..the big DIFFERENCE BETWEN SUPER AMOLED(Pentile) and HTC LCD2 is that the HTC ONE X is more sharper so is better
look at the difference between pixels

Dude, the note 2 ain't using a pentile screen, nor an RGB stripe. Its weird.
Sent from my faster than SGS3 HOX.
still LCD can reproduce images better and sharper..the thing with LED is that they are more " stable " and the colors are very " alive "..and thats a thing that I hate.
The note 2 is using the IPS OLED display. I find the note 2 screen overall less sharp than the One X. However, there may be cases where the note 2 may appear as if it was sharper, especially when looking at dark/black images. That's due to the more punchy color of the note 2. When looking at texts and in general I find the One X has sharper and overall better display.

I just picked up a edge plus to replace my normal edge last night, both gold 64gb.
At first I was smitten with the giant screen but after less than 24 hours I'm starting to miss the smaller, easier to use one handed edge. The exact reason I wanted the plus was for the larger size, the edge was the smallest phone I have had in a bit but now I'm actually missing that form factor.
I still have both and will take the two weeks to decide, maybe going back and forth a bit.
Anyone else make the swap? What are your thoughts?
I made the swap from a regular edge to the plus and I love it. Way better battery life from what I've seen so far.
As far as the bigger screen being harder to navigate with one hand, try hitting the home button 3 times. This puts the phone into 'one-handed mode' which shrinks the screen down to a smaller size into the bottom right/left corner.

I have watched tons of reviews of the phone and nobody ever showed that, it does not work for me but maybe that's because I'm using the gel launcher.
I too have noticed better battey life but wanted to give it a few days before I know.
Edit** One handed mode had to be turned on, works great! Ty

SInce it's AMOLED. I'm not sure why I don't make the outside area all black to save battery when the phone is in 1 hand mode.

Good point! But I think I personally wouldn't have liked having most of my gorgeous screen off, like it's out of order or something (the way it looks on iPhone 6 plus), besides since one wouldn't use one-handed mode for long period of time, it wouldn't make a lot to difference on battery.
i made the swap and couldn't be happier. I debated over a week and then finally bit the bullet. from s6 edge 32GB to Plus 64gb. the Plus for me has better camera settings, it's smoother and more responsive, that extra 1 GB ram does help IMO. The increase in size does not bother me at all, a few days with it now and I forget how the regular edge feels.
I'm definitely happier making the switch and everything seems smoother and less lag.
Gold colour looks far better then the black sapphire.
Battery life is better and smoother.
Many people with the brightness bug in this s6 edge plus?
After a few weeks I'm now happy I made the switch.
The regular edge always felt too small, the plus is perfect and feels faster somehow. I have both side by side same apps, same firmware and the plus is faster.

I'm doing some comparison between M8 and 10, starting apps, scrolling, loading webpages.. maybe for 30-45 minutes. Now HTC 10 feels hot, and the M8 is just a bit warm to the touch. I checked the temperature with CPU-Z. It's 40,5 degrees Celsius for HTC 10 and 36,5 degrees Celsius for HTC M8.
Other HTC 10 owners feeling that the device gets really hot with normal usage?
Here is my take its the same kind of frame and material overall, If the M8 got to 36.5, I would not see it unreasonable for a faster processor that has more heat to dispense to get 4 degrees warmer.

Warm... However the M9, now that got Hot, as did the M8 when optimising apps..
Due to the design of these devices the heat is much more noticable than most devices, an all metal uni-body that is essentially a big heatsinc, better it be noticable and dispersed than contained
This truly is an outstanding piece of tech

Nope. That's typical. I will say that after updating to 1.80 from 1.53 mine has been operating cooler under some load conditions.
