Help identify problem phone not turning on - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was using the phone when it froze, i tried restarting it nothing happened so i pulled the battery. Now it wont turn on.
When i try to charge the phone, no battery indicator is shown, even the LED does not light up.
The only signs of life is when i connect the phone to the power bank, the power bank shows that phone is attempting to draw electricity when i press the power button
I got the battery checked externally and it came up healthy and 100% charged.
The phone is not detected by the PC, no matter what button configuration I press.
what are my options? Thank you for your time.

Its a hardware problem. Many people have had such issues, take the device to a service center.

I had this problem , here are some problems:
1.battery failure : makes the phone shut down unexcpectedly until it fries the board or emmc.
2. Go to fix centre immediatly , dont wait ,dont do anything at your risk.

Device Won't Turn On

Screen went black during phone call, audio still present. Then the phone shut off and refuses to turn on, no charging led when connected to power supply. Battery still had 75% charge during call
Have you tried holding the power button down for 10 seconds?

Thanks. This has also happened on my girlfriends device numerous times.
Similar thing happened to me, i was charging my One X while it was off (the battery completely depleted).
The notification LED was on (red) indicating it was charging, the LED turned off after about an hour of charging, i tried to turn it on and nothing, absolutely no reaction.
I've tried holding the power button for 10 seconds, also tried a vast combination of buttons;
Volume up + power.
All three buttons at once.
Any suggestions before i take it to the shop?
UPDATE:
5 minutes after posting this the LED light turned on, i tried to turn the device on and it did, so everything seems to be fine now, i just don't get how after an hour on the charger, when i turned it on just now my HTC One X battery was at 2%
In any case I won't be letting the battery deplete to 0% anymore
@dusan do you have CWM as recovery? It is known that battery-charge is broken, even when the device is off, when cwm is flashed.
Try to get into fastboot after some while, flash the stock recovery as fast as possible and turn the device off again for charging.
That would explain it, I do have CWM, I don't know how but I guess it charged just enough juice for me to turn the device on.
If I flash stock recovery will I be able to recharge the phone with the device off ?
Also would I lose root in that case?

[Q] Phone won't turn on with battery pulled

Alright so my ls970 doesn't respond at all when it's all connected, but when I pull off the back and pull the the battery off and plug it in, it just shows a flashing red light in the top right. Also I plug it in and it shows the Google logo and then shows a battery with a charging symbol in middle. I tried all button combinations and trying to reset it but it doesn't work. Also when I plug it into the computer, the computer recognizes it and then it loses it and connect again and loses it. Any ideas?

If you already have the back off, pull the battery, try to power on the device with no battery, hold the power button to drain the battery, then put the battery back and try to charge it without attempting to power it on. Let it sit for at least a couple hours, then try to power it on again.
If it is all the way dead and you have the battery out or disconnected, there is always a chance of a brick. Just saying. Keep trying, though.
The other option would be to charge just the battery with some sort of power supply (with the correct voltage/wattage) and put it back in the phone, or get a different, fully charged battery from another device and try it in yours. Or try to find a new battery.

Phone not turning on.

Hi. So after a long wait I got my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML today. The first thing I did was turning it on and it turned on normally, then I proceeded to make the initial setup (logging into google account, etc) without any problems. Then after about 10 minutes of use the phone suddenly turned off with the battery being at around 35% and didn't want to turn on again. I read that old firmware (like the one that comes default with the phone) had battery display errors so I thought the phone had run out of battery, so I charged it for 8 full hours and I unplugged it now. To my surprise the phone is not turning on either. The only way I can make the screen show something is by connecting it to the charger, it vibrates and displays a white battery icon, eventually changing to fully green (fully charged battery, the green led indicator also appears) only to disappear like 3 seconds after. Can't turn the phone on while charged and can't even make the phone show the battery icon again (unless I unplug and plug again, repeating the cycle). So, what can I do to turn it on?
Thanks in advance.

I have a feeling that you did not hold the power button long enough. Disconnect the charger first, and wait for about 10 seconds. Then, hold the power button for at least 6 seconds. The phone should then vibrate and then you may release the power button. Other reasons why your phone may not seem to be turning on at all might be due to the back cover not being fully locked in, thus not making any contact with the power on the motherboard itself.
Do report back the results.

I did. Doesn't work. I also removed the back cover and pressed the power button with nails with no results either. Personally I think there's something to do with the power button as it doesn't even responds while charging (pressing it should display the battery icon) and the only time I could use the phone it didn't work to wake up the phone or setting it to sleep, only double tapping worked. What is strange is that it worked the first time I turned on the phone though.
Are you able to get into FastBoot mode? If so please try performing a hardware reset including wipe cache partition. Please see the following:

GNexus wont turn on & I cant reboot :(

3 days ago on my b-day I charge my phone only to power it on and have it immediately shut off on me. I plug it into charger and it was still fully charged so i turn on agian and it does the same thing it will just immediately turn off on me. Now its gotten to the point where when i try to power it on the word google pops up and it brightens after abotu 3 seconds then phone turns off and continue to charge. The phone battery indicates it is fully charged however it wont turn on. May i remind you my volume down button does not work so i can not Volume keys and Power button reboot. Plz help
I wonder if the hardware has broken somehow? If just the power button broke, this post says to remove the battery, plug phone into computer, then insert battery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...rnative-to-t1731128/post65166854#post65166854
If only the software has broken somehow, maybe you can flash a new ROM from the beginning using one of the nexus toolkit apps which automate everything for you.

HTC 10 Unresponsive & Can't Restart But Alive

I hope I'm posting this in the right place but I'm desperate for help.
My phone, HTC 10, froze and then the screen turned off while I was taking a picture.
The charge should have been around 80%.
Symptoms:
The screen is unresponsive.
Couldn't get the home button/finger print sensor to turn the screen on.
Couldn't get the power button to turn the screen on.
A call to my phone could not reach my number as well.
When plugged in to a wall charger or laptop no indicator light turns on.
When connected to a laptop, the laptop makes that connection noise and a long name with QualComm in it shows up.
Tried Power Button + Volume Up for 10 seconds but didn't get any result.
Side note:
The power button was a little faulty before as well.
You have to squeeze it a certain way to make it work.
I need to somehow restart my phone. Any ideas?

Try to clean all buttons really well, if it keeps failing to boot and the phone is still recognized as Qualcomm it's probably bricked.
Simple explanation of the word bricked :
When the phone doesn't boot, when you can't access the bootloader, download mode or recovery it's bricked!

Strange turn of events: I plugged the phone to my laptop because I read somewhere that it drains the battery. Just for the kicks, after a few hours, I unplugged and re-plugged my phone. Suddenly, there was light. The battery light came back. I immediately switched to the wall charger and once I did that the battery icon appeared showing 1%. Now, it's peacefully charging away. Will see if it actually turns on later on once it's charged about half an hour.
