Should I get a G4?

Currently have a G3. Had it rooted but then broke it and bought a new one and couldn't be bothered to roll back the version to get it back. I've previously had a G2, and before that a HTC One, Samsung Note 2 and HTC Thunderbolt.
Very frustrated with mem leak and overheating on the G3. Phone has been downright unusable since Lollipop update, not to mentioned RIP Xposed. Considering switching to something else - here is what is important to me in reasonable order.
1) Performance: Often multitask, generally run lots of widgets, etc. Have even been using excel on my phone recently with Office Preview - bottom line processor matters, and so does optimization.
2) Screen: I read a LOT (emails, documents, presentations, even books) on my phone, including while outside. Have big hands so size not an issue, but have grown to love LG's minimal bezel.
3) Camera: I love taking photos. No longer carry an ILC around but notice sharpness, focus, etc. so have a hard time dealing with bad cameras.
4) Back Cover: Battery should be all day OR removable. Ditto xSD, 64GB internal or need a slot. Don't care about dual-SIM, even though I travel work pays my phone bill. I have Qi chargers all over at this point, but on the G3 I just DIYed it when XDA ordered all the ones from Alibaba.
5) Root / Unlock: Used to be a more important to me in the pass. Can survive without it now. Haven't flashed a ROM in years.
6) Pr
Probably will stay with Verizon (unless there was a Nexus 5 level phone that is not available on Big Red, in which case I would probably go to AT&T).
Initial thoughts are G4 with other options including One M9+ (in EU now, assume US launch will come), S6, OnePlus 2 (when it comes out). Gave my mother my Droid Turbo because I didn't like it so that isn't an option.

I have the G4, and also came from a G3 > G2 > Note 2 > Thunderbolt.
First, I'll answer your points:
1) The G4 has excellent performance, I never experience lag like the G3 stock did.
2) The screen is worlds better than the G3. More saturated, better colors, brighter, easier to read in sunlight, improved auto brightness
3) The camera is the best phone camera out IMO, much better than the G3. I bought it to shoot in RAW with manual settings, but never actually use it, I always shoot on auto with HDR and photos are amazing.
4) The back cover is removable which is nice, and it looks decent, but I have the black leather and it feels extremely cheap (like cheap leather-looking plastic). In fact, the whole phone looks and feels cheap IMO. The G3 looked premium in white.
5) I really, really want root to come to the Verizon G4. I had to keep my G3 to run my root apps until we have root, and I hate carrying around 2 phones, especially when one only works on WiFi. If we don't get root by the time the next Nexus comes out, I'm switching.
Overall it's a great phone, but the only reason I stick with it is because of the fantastic camera. The G3 looks and feels much better, it's smaller (really, the G4 looks a lot bigger than it is, but it's still bigger). It's a good stepping stone but I don't see it lasting me long without root. Battery life is great on standby, but it dies fast.. very fast... when being used. I can drop 20% while using my phone for 30-45 minutes at lunch.

Pretty much the same way I feel. Absolutely love the camera, hate not having root.

If only you had waited 2 days later. Basically everyone else answered, but we have root!!

Hi guys
Looking to upgrade from my Galaxy S4 i9500 which has been loyal to me for the past 2 years. I work in IT so I get to do lot of mobile work on my phone. Looking for a phone with a larger screen 5.5-5.8 for a budget of up to $550.
Looking at the specs`of all the recently released devices, the LG G4 stands strong and the price is great ($430 new on eBay). I don't really care for a finger print sensor. Maybe in a week after the release of V10 or G4 Pro, the price will drop even more.
so if you were me at this point of time, would you buy the LG G4 again? Go for a different device?

The only phones I can compare to the G4 -for me- are:
*Moto X-Style for its metal body, front facing camera flash light, stock android experience, cool Motorola Gestures, out of the box quick charger (Quick Charging 34% in 15 min), 52 score in water and dust resistance (however some youtube videos showed G4 resisting water too but nothing official), front facing speakers with a nice camera score Dxomark. However, you may need to watch comparisons between it and G4 to tell which you would prefer, I am still loving the G4 manual mode..
also I think Moto X-Style will get better custom roms support than G4 specially other models than 815.
*and Nexus 6P for its metal body, Greater camera score in Dxomark site !! no comparisons available yet with G4 !! fingerprint sensor, Google fast and direct updates, front facing speakers and bigger battery but no sdcard, and it will have much more custom roms than the other 2 phones..
In case you went for any of them, you will miss the Pedometer, IR blaster, Quick Circle case view and Manual Shutter speed in the G4

My previous was S4 as well.
Just got mine yesterday. So far, so good.
I was between G4 and Moto X Style. Since I got G4 for much less, I went for it.
Basically, I was all the way to X Style, but camera. I use camera a lot, and G4's camera is cool. Still learning though (auto gave me some bad pics in low light).
That's it. As already written, my concern is about ROMs /root / community support, but it's too soon to tell everything about it (for me).

I'd stay far away from this phone, especially if you are heavy into the modding scene. I bought mine at launch and it has been nothing but a headache for me, but I have plenty of phones to compare it to, so based upon my usage, this will be my first phone to sell as soon as that time comes. For the price, you could spend a little bit more and get a phone with a hell of a lot more dev support and a better overall build quality. This is one of the very few phones that still has the microsd slot and a battery that can be changed, but with today's technology that is no longer a necessity for me anymore. I am on my 2nd unit and I have had nothing but issues. There are plenty of people that love this phone, but for me, this stays on my desk more than my calculator does... If these features are what you need on a phone then go right ahead, but I just thought I would add my opinion because not everyone is happy with this device. Take a look around the forums and I do believe this is what you will see, and not a whole lot more...

I have owned the G4 since mid July and I still think it is brilliant. My only wish would be for a nice easy root path. I continue to run the device completely stock and haven't done anything to it at all. In the end my phone is a work horse before it is a toy.
I wrote a review of this phone back at the end of July - http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-review-t3167563 which I have just re-read and I still agree with what I wrote. Since then the leather back of my phone how shows a few marks but has held up well over all. Mostly I have a darkening and polishing of the corners which correspond to how I hold the phone when playing games or surfing the web.

Would you consider 5x an upgrade from a Galaxy S4?

Has anyone who has jumped from a Galaxy S4 to a Nexus 5X consider the switch an upgrade?
I am considering getting a midrange phone to last me 8 months until my next subsidized Verizon upgrade, I would insist on a replaceable battery for a phone being used for over a year and/or costing over ~$400, but the 5X looks usable at $329.
The specs look similar, and the 5X display is perhaps a downgrade, but I am sick of laggy S4 touchwiz, and it looks like installing CM on my baseband S4 will brick the phone.
I guess other options are the Moto X Pure or Nexus 6P but I have trouble reconciling spending even that much for a phone programmed to die by way of non-replaceable burnt out battery.

i switched from a 16GB S4 + 16GB SDcard to the 32GB 5X.
do i consider it an upgrade? yes, definitely. will i miss the SD-slot? maybe eventually. will i miss the removable battery? not if the battery does its job at least as good as the one in my S4, which still is almost as good as new (back in my S1 times i had to switch between 3 batteries).
as you already said, touchwiz just sucks and (imo) is ugly as hell. the nexus just runs so much smoother and doesn't come with all the bloat. the fingerprint sensor works perfectly and makes picking up the phone and actually using it quite a bit faster. rooting is easy, updates come quick, and i have a guarantee that i get those updates as soon as possible.
the camera is just amazing in comparison. the screen, while not being an amoled display does a great job and of course doesn't suffer from the movement shadows i had to deal with on the S4.
considering CM on the S4: well im one of the lucky ones who got his antenna fried, a bug that to my knowledge never got completely fixed or even fully acknowledged. the consequences being that cell reception was only ever acceptable on that one build.
i hope this helps. if it's worth to spend $329 on it for only eight months is entirely up to you.

The display is most certainly not a downgrade. OLED has come a long way in the last few years but the S4 generation OLED had subpar colour accuracy and brightness even for its day.
On the other hand the 5x IPS panel took the top mobile IPS panel spot away from the iPhone 6s which costs twice as much.

I really don't know what else to say about the Nexus 5X's display, because there's really nothing that can be criticized. I would certainly like if the brightness went up to 600 nits, but I would also prefer that it went to 6000 nits, and obviously that's asking a bit much. As far as LCDs go, the Nexus 5X has one of the best, if not the best that I've seen to date. At this point Google and their OEM partners are going to have to look to gamut as a vector of improvement, but only after proper color management is available at the OS level in order to avoid the problems that have plagued wider gamut displays, which have lacked suitable color management to properly map sRGB content into the wider color space.

Thanks. Yeah upon more research it looks like the 5x is definitely an upgrade from S4, I thought I had seen some benchmarks somewhere that showed them to be similar, must have been the geekbench site, but phonearena's benchmarks show the 5x to be far superior to the S4 in both performance and display, and not far behind the 6P. I should have pulled the trigger at $80 off in November, guess I will have to settle for $50 off.
Only reservation now is non-swappable battery and I'd have rather seen 3 GB Ram and 32 GB storage base, but should be fine for 8 months to a year.

It's an upgrade even coming from my S5.

I am coming from an SGH-I337 Galaxy S4 16gb. So far hardware wise it is an upgrade except for the screen. It has a very slight reddish yellow tint to it, not the crisp bluish white tint a galaxy has. Some people like it, I do not but I have heard it can be changed by rooting it. The only lag I have seen has been on websites with tons of graphics (slow to display pics when scrolling) other than that it is quick to move through screens and open apps. Have not tried any games. The finger print scanner is an awesome feature and works very well. I bought an unlocked N5X so it had nothing but bare bones Marshmallow 6 and it leaves a lot to be desired, if you were a custom to and used a lot of the apps that came with an S4 like gallery, memo, calendar, my files then you will need to find suitable replacements. The default keyboard in the messaging app has me all buggered right now, some genius thought it would be a good idea to put the microphone key right below the send key and for us fat fingered folks it is pretty much impossible to hit. I have not experienced any of the camera issues the N5X is notorious for yet, seems to run a little slow but nothing that is a show stopper.
Bottom line. Hardware is faster, screen is bigger with higher resolution, finger print reader is awesome, Marshmallow kind of sucks but that is my opinion, I bought it because it is a whole lot easier to root than the S4 and a whole lot easier to put custom ROMS on from what I have read. So far for me it is a trade off and the verdict is still out on whether I'm keeping it. Just wanted to offer my opinion because I know how much it sucks looking for a replacement with so many options avalible.

My problem is the device I want if I am paying flagship prices nobody makes.
I want swappable battery, stock android, snappy performance, AMOLED, fingerprint sensor, high screen to phone ratio (small bezel). So the Nexus 6P with a removable battery, or a Note 5 or S6 with removable battery and stock android, or LG G5 with stock android and an OLED, etc etc... every device is missing something on my list.
Pulled trigger on the 5X yesterday, just have to set it up on Verizon when it arrives, also ordered nano sim cutter.
And in Fall 2016 I'll probably get the best 2016 phone I can that has a swappable battery and hopefully fingerprint sensor, probably the LG G5.

Why order a nano sim cutter as opposed to simply going to a Verizon store to get a nano sim card for free?
But anyway, the N5X is definitely an upgrade over my previous S4. No question. Sure, it still has its quirks and bugs, but every phone does. Those aside, it's still a better phone overall. Especially for the price. The point made above about having a better IPS panel than the iPhone at half the price could be said for many of the features. When you think about it, it's quite impressive what you get for your money (by comparison of course).

Only $8 on amazon for aerb cutter and adapter, $4 more than the nano to micro adapter alone which I wanted anyway so I could save the S4 as a backup, and I kinda like diy projects anyway. Was pretty easy to cut.

I switched from a 16 GB S4 I9500 + 32GB SDcard to the 16GB 5X (take the 80$ rebate in NF)
Do I consider it an upgrade? Yes, definitely: More fluid, zero lag, Android 6.0.1 (+ Android 6.5 or 7.0 next Year), better battery optimizations, 4G LTE, Ambient Display (well, ocasionally), MAGNIFIC fingerprint sensor, easy to root/unroot, bye bye TouchWiz!
Will i miss the SD-slot? YES. 10 GB is not practical for store my MP3 Collection!
Will i miss the removable battery? yes, because I will have to resell my 5X in 1/2 years. With S4, a extra battery is only 8-15 $.
What I don't like from 5x?
- Poor speakerphone (very POOR) .
- MicroSD Slot, or 64 GB option
- USB-c port (I have to buy a USB-c to USB-a cable)
- Don't have earphones
- Poor devs support (for custom roms, Nexus 6P is more supported)

Yes, after just a day with it I can see this is true.
Display: Its great, no complaints whatsoever here, and coming from an amoled. The 5X colors do pop, just not quite in the radioactive way of galaxy amoleds. Colors are probably more accurate than an oversaturated amoled anyway, and I have an xrite calibrator eye if I want to mess with calibration.
OS: great, reminds me of my 2013 Nexus 7. No touchwiz, webpages load much quicker in chrome or firefox compared to S4. Nice to be back to stock android and know I can root easily if I want to. No problems popping in an activated cut down verizon sim either. Yet.
Fingerprint reader is awesome and a must for me on any mobile device going forward.
Performance seems just as snappy as the S6 floor models ive played with.
Got 1230 to 1290 single core and 3550 multi core geekbench 3. No noticeable lag yet. What sold me on the 5X other than xda was the youtubes where the guy opens a bunch of apps side by side on a 6P and 5X, there is one with a 5X vs S6 too, and the 5X does juuuust fine next to those.
Great phone, and at $330 i dont feel as cheated about non swappable battery as I would if I'd dropped $600 on a "flagship."
Oh and coming from an S4 i have no idea why reviews say the 5X doesnt feel "premium" or feels cheap. Anything but. The design is stylish and minimalist, and a case is going on anyway, but even without a case there is nothing wrong whatsoever with the industrial design and materials of this phone.
I do like the aluminum on my XPS 13 laptop, but whatever apple fanboy started the trend of 99% of tech reviewers saying every device that isn't 100% glass and metal feels "cheap" is nuts.

Yes it is a massive upgrade over the S4 which I still have one. In every way possible. The display on the S4 by today's standards is poor. The build quality is much better on the 5X.

It's been only a couple days, but I'd probably pick the 5X over the Galaxy S6 so far, from what I've seen in stores. Especially if price is at all a factor, and maybe even if it isn't. My 5X is perfectly smooth, just the experience I was looking for. 1080P and stock android makes it perform better than QHD phones with bloatware.

I came from an S5 and I think it's a massive upgrade. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, personally.
The biggest things for me so far has been 1) Wireless ac (speeds are phenominal) and 2) no lag at all. I went through 2 S5's and both were laggy at times. I'm yet to see any of that with the 5x and I put it through its paces.
I think the camera output is much better, button layout is great (I had issues with accidentally hitting volume or power with S5's on both sides), and fingerprint reader is amazing.
I switched from Verizon to Project Fi last week also. Couldn't be happier with that as well. Going to cut my bill in half.
Luckily I haven't seemed to have any of the issues other are having here on the forums.

LOL radioactive is a pretty good description. So not natural looking when I compared with the S5 side by side.

This is not necessarily the truth. There are plenty of ROMs and kernels for Bullhead. Some teams, like mine, just do not release until everything is tip-top.

I have the 16gb tmoblie variant S4 w a 64 gb card, which still has 30 gb free so I really didn't need 64gb after all, the 32 I had was sufficient. It just leads to hoarding too much crap on my phone. I have almost 100 albums on it I barely listen to for example, and TB backups from 4 years ago of **** that isn't even in the play store anymore lmao...
I got the 32gb from the Google store because 16gb is an insult and should be illegal in 2015. Even if you don't have 1gb+ games it gets eaten up fast.
The one thing I love the most about switching is not having to fight with that damn internal memory card partition anymore. What the actual **** was that about anyway? Thank god for Link2SD...
The camera is a bazillion times better, and the FULL camera2 api is the icing on the cake.
I will say that I beat the absolute hell out of that S4 and the screen never broke. It looks like the dog chewed the edges but that's it. Time will tell if the 5X can withstand my butterfingers as well!

Another note, I installed Fleksy keyboard and added the number row so the on screen keyboard resembles what im used to with Galaxy S series, i dont like having to long hold or hit the 123 key to get to numbers.
Fleksy seems to use more ram than it needs though, so i might look for other options. Google keyboard with the PC layout and number row makes the keys too tiny.
Google should just add an option to include a number row in the stock keyboard.

I'm a little late to the party but I have just seen this phone and it looks cool. I have a P9 Lite at the moment and I am not keen on EMUI. I love the look of the mint colour Robin. How is the screen on this thing as I hate washed out IPS screens.
Also important to me is how is development for this phone?

The screen is on par with most LCDs these days, good viewing angles and color saturation. Development is on the rise. At this moment there are a hand full of roms to flash. You should get this phone if you can, as it's still great in 2017.

I've just purchased one from Amazon can't not at £149 new for the spec better than some Umi rubbish in same price range

Its a great phone, and definitley worth the money, but considering your current device it's not much of an upgrade.

Hey guys,
I'm considering the purchase of this cool-looking phone as well and I want to ask about the battery life - is it really that terrible that you have to charge your phone more than once a day (as written in some reviews)? And what about the camera - is it really that bad or it's just a normal mobile average?
I am using nexus4 right now and Robin probably won't be my daily driver, I just want it because of the look but obviously I don't want to waste my money on some ****ty device.

I can get through a day without charging with ease. That said. I've never been on stock, I personally didn't like it. Many users complained about performance and battery life on the Stock OS. The camera is pretty 'meh'. Taking pictures can be VERY slow (Use Google Camera or something, Open Camera and the stock camera is supposedly slow) and low light performance is pretty bad. During the day though I can get pretty nice shots, nothing to complain about, it's good just not 'great'.
All this said though, I've mostly been on OmniROM and LOS/LOS based roms as they seem pretty on par in both areas (LOS and LOS based roms have a few kinks to sort out at the moment though). If you're planning on sticking with the Stock ROM and have issues, I 100% recommend OmniROM, it's had a long while to get rid of all the bugs and it's got killer performance and with moderate usage (Including some light gaming) I get around 4.5 hours SOT on a single charge on Omni.

If I leave the house with a 100% charge. I can get through the entire day...but when I'm out...I'm not constantly on my phone. I'm a pretty casual user and I've been pretty happy with the device in the 7 months I've been using the phone. The durability of the phone is the only real questionable thing. The plastic feels pretty thin and the edges are pointy. I can't imagine dropping the phone on its edge onto concrete. I've seen lots of people complain of the phone getting bent from being in your pocket. If you're the type of person that is rough with your stuff...it may not be the best choice....or use a heavy duty case like the Tudia.
Nextbit will also be stopping any kind of warranty in July of 2017. So if you buy your phone now...and something goes wrong...you don't have a warranty after July.

I think at its current price level this phone makes a great backup phone, or if you want to have something for a few months and move on to something better.
The good: it has a rather up to date OS, you get a good processor (808) for around $120, it's light weight and sleek, easy to root and develop on, sleek look, smooth performance with virtually no bloat, supports band 12 (important for t mobile).
The bad: no warranty after July 2017, the online storage space may disappear in 2018 (which was their whole selling point for the phone on the beginning), mediocre camera, very fragile design ( the phone is made entirely of plastic and there is no metal frame inside so forget about putting it in your pocket), no charger in the box, can feel warm at times if you are not careful about background processes and using an ad blocker, mediocre battery life (5 hours on screen surfing).

Great phone. The online storage was dumb and you wont miss it. If you really needed more then 32 gigs would you be looking at this phone at all?
The camera is just ok. Its better then the last phone I had which was a nexus 5.
The phone is good quality. The plastic takes a beating. I put it in my pocket, and run it case free and have for months. Barley a knick on it. Been dropped from waist high on wood floors and tile.
Battery - I stream google music all day at work . If I don't charge I can go about 8 hours with Bluetooth headphones connected. If I use it as a phone for googling here and there I get like a day+ on it. Reading books and wut not, 12 hours.
I run stock, with a personalized launcher, rooted, running substratum for blacking out all the menus and Nougat quick settings to use immersive mode. Runs like a champ, super fast. The warranty thingie sucks, but;at 117 bux, this phone is a steal.
I dare anyone to find a brand new phone with at least an 808 and 32 gigs of storage, with 3g memory for cheaper and better support.

I consider buying the Nextbit Robin for my 13yo son, who killed his S5 Neo (broken Display). I´m afraid he would be forced to stick with stock and no root because of....well.....pokemon go.... so I hope battery life is not THAT bad as complained in some threads.
BUT: The fact that he killed his last phone because he dropped it and the "bending issue" I read in this thread I am pretty unsure about it. My son puts his mobile into his pocket.

Pokemon GO works fine with custom ROMs and root as long as you use magisk

I got one and I love it , it has an amazing camera, great battery life (at least on Resurrection Remix), and is nice because the bootloader is easily unlockable. The only issue I have experienced is the speakers can be a bit distorted at max volume.

Is the A70 worth it?

It seems that this phone has a lot of issues and problems that are constantly being ignored or not cared about by Samsung.
Is this phone worth it, or am I better off selling it and buying an A50 which seems to have the attention of Samsung? Because The A50 has gotten so many updates compared to the A70 that is still on Security patch level: May.

I've had an A70 for about a month now and it's one of the best phones I've ever had. Battery averages at two days, screen is bright and always legible in bright sunlight, phone is fast and smooth. Fingerprint unlock used to be crap but updates have made it work ok. Face recognition is good. Camera is pretty good - again it's improving with updates.
I think it's the best phone for the price.

I'm really happy with mine but yeah the fingerprint reader isn't the best but it's still a great phone

Have not had any problem with this phone. To be honest, worth every Penny I paid for it.

At the moment I don't have one as my contract is due for an upgrade in October. But I as usual I have been doing research about this device and I must say the pro out weighs the cons by a mile. All the you tube reviews from unboxing to month on reviews are all positive. I am even overlooking the A80 as the A70 offers so much more for my money. Stick to your phone bud. You are in the teething phase now

I have been using a V30 and S8+ for the last year (1 was a personal device and the other as work phone). Performance on both phones was identical, with the key differences being the camera (better on the v30) and the ergonomics (v30 won this as well). Most recently I purchased the A70 and have been using it as my daily driver for the last 2 weeks or so. I have the A70 setup exactly the same way as both the V30/S8+. Same apps, settings, etc. I can say from a performance point of view, I have not missed the V30/S8+ at all. The A70 runs the same apps without any noticeable performance difference. I am not a huge gamer but there are a few that are always installed on my phones.. and they run the exact same on the A70, as they did on the S8+/V30. I haven't seen a difference in load times, or graphics and performance has been the same. Camera quality is pretty good. I thought Id miss the wide angle from the V30 but the A70 has it as well. Front camera on the A70 is much better than both the S8 and the nearly useless front cam on the v30. Battery life is fantastic. I get 2 days usage from the A70, whereas the S8+ gave me 1 day. Audio quality to my ears is the same. That is a lot considering the A70 runs on the SD675 and the V30/S8+ on the SD 835. The display is crisp and what you expect from a samoled. I would say yes, the phone is def worth it. Removable storage, huge battery, fantastic 1080p display, BT 5.0. and great performance. This phone has met all my expectations.. and I am glad I bought this rather than an s10+ which is more than double the cost of this phone.

As Stillriza I used a S8+ (for 2 years). I now have the A70 since 1.5 months. The fingerprint unlock is good since last software update (when it is difficult I honestly have an explication such as finger is just coming out of water, long pressure on the finger...).
The 32Mp camera is good outside by day but the quality decreases when the light is decreasing (much worse than the camera of the S8+).
I haven't notice any slowdons on apps compared to S8+.
The screen has a lower resolution than the S8+ one but bigger. It is really not visible and it is very good and effective in the sun.
I will keep this "pocket computer" for a long time. I think it really worth its price.
For that price

i owned the phone before, if you want my advice: forget samsung and go for xiaomi mi 9t (redmi k20) as i did, you will not regret it.

Yes i'm totally happy with my a70, not a perfect device but exceeded my expectations by miles
I will list cons only here:
1-white colour has a tint to it, but no problem may be the amoled nature or my calibration
2-prefer stock android, but one ui is so good
3-no twrp or easy root and custom roms yet, but i will wait
4-no stereo speakers, but the included speaker is loud enough
other than than all are pros not cons

I like it. it's not perfect but it has better native apps than most phones I've owned.
fingerprint sensor is nearly impossible to get to work
but the phone has a night mode for its settings. has a great onboard keyboard. it has its own app store, theme store.
File explorer is very usable. I'm off 3rd party apps for the most part.
The music app is super fast to load the artworks. Sees most artworks. takes 48 hours but indexed my 300GB music and loads entire list (all have artworks) in real time. Really imperfect but very fast, great music app by Samsung.
Then there is the RAM Memory optimizer under settings; device care; then memory button. On other phones I have had lately, this can take a long time. Have to go in apps in settings and do each one individually.

My phone gets 1 bar of signal strength less than my other phones but despite that I love this phone.
Fingerprint reader performance is livable. (A sweaty thumb on glossy glass is prone to cause difficulties with finger print reading, even on Iphones. So I can deal with it. - Try storing fingerprint data with a wet finger? Seems to have helped.)
The camera with the G-cam app is very good, and even so I still find myself using the Samsung camera app more often for its features and the polish of the app. - The panoramic shot is a full 360 degrees and better than my Iphone7. I like the hyperlapse and slowmotion. HOwever, this phone is definitely not a camera phone and won't take steady videos.
The native file explorer app and video player app are great.
The 20:9 aspect ratio is perfect for phones. You get so much usable real estate and yet a slimmer form factor that is much more practical for one handed use and for keeping in your pockets.
I love the ONE UI interface. I have it navigation bar set to invisble and I'm using gestures.
Compared to my previous phone it's thinner as well and feels great. It does not feel like a cheap phone at all. It feels solid and well produced.
I have the one in white. Paid $370 for it.

I got the samsung a70. I like the phone's 6.7 inch display. But the aspect ratio makes it a bit narrow. That's why I'm thinking about getting the huawei mate 20x which has a 7.2 inch screen. Do you think I should stay with this phone or buy the mate 20x?

Register 3 fingerprints of the same finger and it'll work seamlessly.

ok. I may try that. I have already but for some reason I deleted the first two or three, hoping one clear one.

the only thing better in a70 is the battery and a little bit the screen colors "but with ugly notch"... as for performance, camera..etc the mi9t is a superb phone.

Seems like the Mi9T doesn't have an SD slot?

I have my A70 for a good amount of time to speak about it.
I really like the device. It's fast, reliable and it was a surprise to me that it can hold two sim cards and a microSD card at first. I remember that I was astornished by it's beautiful, shiny back, but that's a personal prefference. I only found 3 problems with this phone that gladly doesn't bother me that much.
Starting with the back, it's really, REALLY easy to scratch it. Mine, even if it was in the case, have some scuffs on the back. It's plastic, not as much resistable as the glass is, but I was aware of that when I was buying it. Kinda shame.
Secondly, the bezels are very small and I have big hands so sometinmes I touch the screen when I don't want to or being aware of. A bigger case like one of those armor cases should fix my issue, but that adds to the size of the phone which, I am not sure if I want right now.
Lastly, the cursed fingerprint scanner. It doesn't work all the times, but the updates seems to give it a bit of speed and accuracy, failed attempts to read out the fingerprint significantly decreases.
Overall. I think the phone is worth the money but again, that's my perspective.

I own the a70. But I'm thinking of switching to the huawei mate 20x which has a 7.2 inch screen. Do you think its worth buying the mate 20x and selling the a70 for half an inch inch difference in screen size?
