HTC 10 UK spec is the 617? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

So jumping on the HTC website to look at pre-ordering and the UK unlocked spec for the 10 is the Snapdragon 617 not the 820, 32GB only with only a 2150mAh battery not the 3000
What gives?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

Check here
Not possible using 617. You must be wrong.

Yes it was a mistake on HTC's ordering page. We believe they used the specs of the A9 and forgot to change the CPU. If you have a look now, the specs are gone completely now. Also worth noting, if you ordered the silver/black, that is wrong too. You will be getting the silver/white version

I should have probably deleted this thread, when the pre orders first went live the page where you select colour and added phone to basket had a different spec as listed above.
HTC have since confirmed this was an error and pulled the bad spec from the site

wtf box is that?
mine was rounded, almost like an egg
Same here! Egg box!
That's an odd box. Most of them are made of this awful "recycled card" material in the shape of a rounded rectangle. Not the nicest looking of boxes but it's only a box after all.
Is this thread for real? There are at least fifteen threads that say there is NO TMOBILE AWS SUPPORT. What, do you think everyone is lying that you have to ask to look at the box?

[Q] International VS att HTC ONE X?

Hey Guys,
I am so excited to get hTC one X but I am really confused between the international and the att one
some would argue that dual-core snapdragon S4 is even better than T3 and vice versa .. any idea?
here why I am confused:
one x international: T3 better than S4?, will get upgrades b4 att,
one x att: S4 better than T3?, comes with warranty, cheaper (550$ VS 640$ for international)
my big concern is actually the warranty! 90$ is no big deal
to me, I don't care about the 16 VS 32 Gb or radio or even 4G!
so anyone to help me out?

I would think the international One X will have a better development crowd. That was the main reason I ordered the international model.

International version. For some reason development on cdma/lte phones is very slow. There's something about the configuration that makes things immensely complicated. Even Google stopped supporting the cdma Nexus devices.
Plus you can travel abroad with the international version.

I think the main reason development is slow on CDMA phones is that they're really only used in the United States. There simply is enough devs able to work with them. You have a good point about the international version though; you can take it traveling and pop any sim that uses the appropriate frequencies.
what about the warranty guys?
does it worth going with att htc one x for the warranty since international one doesn't come with any warranty?!

Both AT&T and INTL models have the same 3G support, only difference being the addition of the 4G radio. No major biggie here.
I'm in a postition to get the XL from my local 4G provider (Telstra in Australia, when they release it) but chose to get the INTL OneX from a dev perspective. Much larger dev crowd and earlier overall release. Look at the AT&T forum - dead! Yes it's only very early days there, but people were posting all over the INTL OneX forum well before it was available.
M.
i bought mine in europe and i have 1 year of warranty
ATT has a duel core version. INT has a quad core version
INT has 32gb of storage plus a extra 25gb from drop box . ATT has 16gb n no word on drop box offering 25gb
ATT has a LTE Radio inside which will be a battery killer. The INT just has a HSPA+ radio
INT version is everywhere so it will have a much bigger development than the US version
I just bought a international version n hope to have it tommrow.. the only big difference is the LTE radio.
Samsung had change the processor on the Galaxy Note and it has no problems
If support is such a big deal to you than stay with the ATT version and pay 4$ a month or w/e if your phone get lost or stolen or damage ..

32 gb vs 16 is the main reason to chose the int. that and the AT&T box sux.

this is not the case in the US!
to get international version of the 1 x, u should buy it from amazon or ebay ..etc without warranty (well, ebay provide warranty from 3rd party for 89.99$)
international version is better in my opinion.
THIS ARTICLE will help. It compares the Tegra 3 powered One X to the Snapdragon S4 powered One S.
Unless you need 4G, the international version should come out on top benchmark wise.
If you check out Engadget's review of the LTE One X it is actually superior in most benchmarks because of the Snapdragon S4.

You can buy one from eBay they still give you warranty. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-HTC-...88352?pt=AU_Mobile_Phones&hash=item4164b3f080
EDIT
Sorry the seller is not in the US though.

[Q] International One X updates in US?

I'm getting the One X today. I'm in Lebanon, so I'm not really sure where the thing is coming from, but my friend is buying it for me from his friend in Beirut, which is an area I trust more than where I am. Will the phone still get updates when I'm back home on AT&T? Because I heard about that 4.0.4 update and the battery sounds amazing. I'm coming from the HTC Vivid, and my battery doesn't last more than an hour anymore.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
it should. i have an int'l one x, uk version, on at&t (at&t go phone microsim) and have been getting updates on the same schedule as the uk.
How can I tell from where it is? I haven't gotten it yet, but not really sure from where its coming.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
i purchased mine from a uk seller. it came in a box marked taiwan, so that's how i deduced it was manufactured in taiwan. i assumed my phone was for the uk, but i wasn't totally certain, because the language choices were pretty diverse. however, when the most recent ota update was rolled out, the update was not available for my one x (and i did check daily) until it was made available for the uk.
there are probably better ways of determining origin - try a forum search - but my one x worked well from day one, so i did not have the same incentive as some others to try to actually determine for which country it was designed.
Alright, thank you. I will have the phone pretty soon. I am very excited right now!

Quick question guys, does the international One X have warranty in the US? I just received mine from Amazon and the label on the box says "...-Warranty-..."
There is also documentation inside the box about a warranty but I am unsure if it's effective here in the US. Thanks

i think one possibility is to check amazon's warranty policies if you bought through them. i believe they treat sold items differently depending on whether they were the direct retailer or the intermediary for another retailer.

They sell it as: "HTC One X S720e Cellphone - No Warranty - White" but the box and documentation says otherwise lol. I guess i'll have to call them.

What to check when buying M9 from webshop?

I bought an M9 online from a webshop I've not dealt with before. They are quite new and had the best price, about 10+% below some other web shops that have been around longer.
The shop is in the Netherlands, but has indicated that the phone may have been produced by HTC for another European country. It's a new phone. But with market situation variability, they can get it cheaper elsewhere.
Is there anything I should check on delivery, to make sure I got "a good one". Not refurbished, not set to some exotic continent that always gets updates last...
Are there differences really in the m9 phones of EU markets? They have different SKU numbers.
Are there different RUU for different EU countries? I noticed only one
So even if (example) I get a phone for which the OTA update is postponed, I can upgrade with the EU RUU ? ... To android M.
I don't plan on rooting or custom Roms. I did that with my HTC Desire, and it was like a black hole for my limited free time. My One X+ is still stock, though I might try custom 5.1.1 after the M9 is set up...
Many thanks.

Just get an eu world wide edition (not carrier locked). It should take any nano sim straight out of the box.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

(When) can we expect a dual sim version?

I currently have an HTC One M8 Dual Sim and would love to upgrade for the HTC 10, I haven't seen anything about a dual sim version. Any info on this?
Thanks
I bump the question as I'm definately interested in one...
Me 2. I would buy this 100% sure, if i can get it with dual sim

Same here. I have the HTC One ME, which is a M9 varient with dual sim. Hoping a dual sim model comes out with the 820 chip. HTC seems to generally give dual sim models with the less powerful CPU. I don't know why they don't make dual sim a standard feature with their premium flagship models.
I need one as I have a data sim. Currently using Huawei mate 8.. I sold my nexus 6p cuz it wasn't a dual.. Hoping for a m10 plus version with 820sd and dual sim. If not there are always those other ****ty brands who would keep my addiction going.

Apparently, Htc should release a dual sim version later on, although this feature might only be available in a few countries. (according to several android websites).
Let's hope for the best!
any news about this dualsim??
Yes, please! I will take two..! ??
Sent from quite brutal hTc 10 ..
The only reasonably usable information I found under bludiode.eu "10-dual-sim-32gb-lte-grey"
I also would like to see a htc 10 dual sim.

SO i dont know if that means they dont know or ???
Given that both Sony xperia Z5 & samsung S7 have already got dual sims out in the market im not sure why HTC havn't already released one. I would buy one.
Honestly I don't think there will ever be one.
Why there isn't one already is a mystery. I would buy it in a heartbeat

means they've politely said it won't be happening with htc 10.
i never could get with the idea of dual sim probably its an excuse for me to use two different device independently and more flashing
I would really like to get it if its a Dual sim. The samsung S7 apparently you can either use 2 dual sims or 1 sim and a SD card which is pointless. Where as htc m8 use all three.
Looks like Sony xperia X5/X5 Premium. unless anyone else has any other suggestions.
Apparently now HTC are planning to releaser a Desire 10 (htc 10 cheaper sibling) at the end of september. These tend to come in dual sim variants. Suppose it might be a better alternative compared to the m8 dual sim i currently have. You never know they may just release a dual sim for the 10 around that time. These guys need to get as many sales as they can for this flagship. Its like a sinking ship at the moment. I went into the phone showrooms and none of them had any display working models for the htc 10. So seems htc arent really spending on advertising or people just dont like the phone
They really need to release this model
Yesterday I saw HTC 10 Dual sim
64gb but unfortunately 3gb Ram.
I found this one today. Is it a cheaper version called Desire 10?
In the past I tried a Desire 8, I think, LCD screen resolution was awful and I did not have access to all HTC sofware features like professional email or some apps on the marketplace!!!! I thought the cheap version had only cheap hardware but it was very bad experience. I returned it and bought the HTC M8 dual sim.
http://www.htc.com/sea/smartphones/htc-desire-10-pro-dual-sim/
is it good to upgrade to this one? or is it cheaper version of HTC 10

I will also like to go back to htc (I had an htc one M8 CDMA/GSM earlier) but with R Jio I need a dual SIM.
