hello all,
I am in US and I am planning to order htc desire from uk website. Some one told me that while shipping any handset to US, FCC id of the device needs to be
provided to the courier company. I searched in google for fcc id but no use. I would really appreciate if any one provide me the id.
Thanks in advance
Two things you might want to look at filings under Bravo. I think that was one of the orignal code names. Also I donot think a version from Europe will give you 3G in the states. I know it will not on AT&T.
sorry i forgot to mention i will be using it on Asian 3g networks.

There probably isn't one - since the Desire is not designed for the US market, I doubt that it has been sent to the FCC for certification.
Note that the Verizon Droid Eris was previously codenamed the Desire, and that was passed by the FCC so searching for the Desire will almost certainly give you the FCC id for the wrong device.
Regards,
Dave
if it does, it may appear as the PB99200, the nexus is the PB99100
although i am not sure that it has FCC clearance as it is not intended for sale in the US.

For the purposes of shipping to the US, if the carrier requires the FCC number (which just seems unlikely to me if you're buying from the UK), I'd be inclined to just put down the Nexus FCC ID as RHedgehog has quoted here.
It does seem a rather pointless requirement though if you are importing a single unit for personal use and not to resell. After all, I've never been stopped by US customs when I fly into the US for bringing in my personal phones which also don't have FCC certification.
Regard,
Dave
So I was thinking of getting the at&t htc one x but as you all may know it has its own set of issues. I'm on at&t but wouldnt mind getting the international htc one x version and not using lte as I'm not even in coverage areas anyways if you guys really recommend it. I like that the International hox has more space.
Also, not really interested in the galaxy s3 but the only thing that may have sparked interest is the sony xperia ion which is suppose to be coming to at&t in june. I believe it has lesser specs than the int. hox?
Either way, what do you guys recommend. Skip the at&t hox and go for the int. hox? I definitely like to root and rom, thats all I did on the htc inspire.

If you like to root and ROM, international One X it is....no questions asked. Simple and straightforward answer is to get Int'l One X.
Since ur also not in LTE areas, you can't turn off the LTE on AT&T One X from what I remember reading, so you'll drain battery just by having it on and get LTE like stats, instead of the 3G only stats which are nearly double the life.
Get International One X, Xperia Ion isn't good. An actual Sony flagship contendor is in the works though with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chip.
I see your in nyc, any dependable vendor you can recommend that has been shipping the int. hox with little to no defects? I only know expansys-usa but never ordered from them.

Order from Expansys, or Negri so just incase your model does have a defect, you can get replacement.
The Chinese models (ones manufactured in China) seem to have much less problems than the taiwan models.
Basically SH serial number seems to be better than HT for the most part. Mines an SH and all is well except for a slight flicker on light grey colors (software problem 95% sure but not noticeable) Other SH models have been problem free from what I hear. I have no flex or hardware issues

I personally chose the Galaxy S3 ( preordered yesterday) but I walked into an AT&T store today and saw and held the one x for the first time. I've never seen a phone or anything like this. The design is just too good, even the glamour grey, just an amazing looking phone. As far as you getting the intl' or the AT&T version, well since you like to root I guess get the intl' version. But the AT&T version is just much better right now. Excellent battery life and none of that lag crap.

correction, it is the other way around
I'd be stuck on 16gb(really like 10gb approx.) internal space, no root or way to unlock bl. Less dev support probably because of this. Seems neither hox is issue free though. Way more convenient to walk into an at&t store.

I don't agree with that. I ordered from Expansys and the unit was made in China and I had a yellow spot on my screen.
Decided to buy locally (2nd phone carrier branded HTC One X) and this is made from Taiwan and have no issues at all.
Chinese handsets are the ones that have problems.
I ended selling my 1st One X on eBay for $400 and was not really happy about the return policy with Expansys.
I am living in Japan and I definitely want to buy the new HTC 10.
I am concerned thus that I could have problem to root it or unlock the bootloader since it's my first time to buy a phone here in Japan, not sure if that could be a problem.
I was considering to ask my friend to send it to me from UK, to have a European version.
What do you guys think? Would it be fine if I buy it here then root it as I always did?
Thanks in advance!
In Japan, too, and will be snapping this baby up hopefully when Au releases it in June (my guess, based on past summer releases and what I have seen on HTCsoku). I've had no issues unlocking and getting s-off on HTC phones (Desire then the M7, my current phone) here in the past, so I don't see why we'd have any issues this time. Hopefully, we'll get some joy from Sunshine soon enough and can find out for sure.

I was a bit concerned as I own a UK M8 now with a BiCSim provider sim card, but it seems like I cannot get a 4G signal, as I don't have band 1 unlocked on this phone.
For this reason I was a bit worried, you never know...
Just out of curiosity, what kind of ROMs are u flashing on your HTC? I mean, is there a thread specifically made for Japanese phones/ROMs?
Thanks again!
No probs. It's early days yet for everyone, things being tested, guides being made, so keep an eye on the forum. Very few people even have the phone at this point, and we are still at least a month away from Japan release. Be patient, grasshopper.
I have TWRP and still have stock on my old M7. Was easy-peasy. As far as Japan-specific phones go, in the past they have basically just been one or two sub-threads within the particular phone's forum. There are a few XDA folk based in Japan, but not so many HTC users - who knows, I haven't fiddled with my phone for almost two years, so there may be more these days). Best idea is to keep an eye out here and on local HTC fansites (like HTCsoku, as I mentioned - you might need Japanese ability to get the most out of them, mind you).

HTC in Japan
Also living in Japan. I have the HTC One rooted with Android Revolution HD 92.0 installed. I have a Rakuten Mobile sim card and LTE works fine (when available which is not at many places).
I am also planning on buying the HTC 10. I haven't yet found the detailed differences between the different versions but the Asian version may be preferable to the European version (at least that's what I decided for the HTC One).

True, I checked also on the amazon UK website and its definitely cheaper, around 85.000 yen, about 550£.
I still have a 50£ voucher on Amazon UK, still thinking to buy it there and ask my friend to send it to me, I guess even with the delivery will be much cheaper.

If you look here the price is cheaper on amazon.de:

The only thing is I am not sure the HTC10 sold in Europe is exactly the same one that is sold in Asia

This is the only thing I am worried infact, because my M8 currently doesn't work with LTE here, but is basically a 2 years old phone, at that time 4G was still kind of new.
For a while I will keep looking..
I should have looked better: there are apparently only two versions available, US and EMEA (see here: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_10-7884.php).
For Japan, the bands available are not that great.
Docomo is mostly on bands 1, 3 and 19.
AU on bands 1, 11 and 18.
Softbank on bands 1, 3 and 8.
The HTC 10 EMEA version is on bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40 and 41.
The US version is on bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 28, 29 and 30.
If you are on AU, you have only one band available whatever the HTC 10 version chosen.
If you are on Softbank, the EMEA version has all three bands covered.
With Docomo, either versions are possible (only two bands covered)
This was my main concern, if the HTC 10 EMEA would cover the LTE signal or not, hope it will work with my BiC SiM card, I am using Docomo carrier.
I am wondering if 2 bands are enough for a decent LTE signal thus, but if we really will have only 2 HTC 10 version, it should work..

So... anyone in Japan purchased and rooted the HTC 10 (HTV32) yet? Just about ready to make the visit to the AU store and say sayonara to my M7. I have been looking for experiences on unlocking and rooting on Japanese sites... can't see anyone having done it as yet. I am guessing jcase's method (sticky on the HTC10 forum) will work with this one just as well, but always nice to see others do these things on the exact same version of device prior to diving in yourself (well, for relative noobs like myself, it is less nerve-wracking!)

I bought my HTC 10 from Amazon and I noticed that it has been delivered from Taipei, of course Asia firmware.
No problem here working flawlessly, S-OFF, unlocked bootloader, Lee Droid ROM, ElementalX Kernel.

Awesome - used the method I mentioned? (jcase) I assume it was already unlocked. Which carrier you using, btw? Amazon: might look into that.
Actually I don't even know what is "Jcase" method.
I always follow xda's guide.
I don't have a contract by the way, just using iijimio monthly sim card plan.
Edit: Sorry I forgot to tell you that the HTC 10 I bought is not the Japanese version you mentioned, here:

No sure if this is the right thread but for the Japanese HTC 10 models, what keyboard is installed to input Japanese?
With US models, TouchPal is installed and that does not have a Japanese option.

Just click on top of the keyboard on the "world icon" and add Japanese.

So Guys, I have just bought New an M9 Unlocked/Developer edition.
My question is will it run OK in the UK on O2 or do I need to change the radio?

Radio : 01.01.U11440971_103.00.61018G_F
I'm sure one of you clever people will know.

According to the frequency band chart, the device is 100% compatible on all bands using O2.....
Take a look at this page I've located....including the APN settings information.
https://apn-uk.gishan.net/en/device/htc-one-m9
You should be good based on the correct APN settings....g

I know these phones work in the UK its just whether I need a different Radio.

Right, the Unlocked/Developer edition will not update the software...I've been down this road before.
Once again I have bought a counterfeit M9, this time from Amazon...
And once again no one cares...
Meanwhile I still haven't got a mobile phone.
Anyone now where I can buy and original HTC M9 in the UK please?

Just spoken to HTC, thankfully this one is not a counterfeit....
BUT
It is meant for the American market, which means it wont work in this country!!!
I've never had so much trouble buying a phone.
So I have given up with HTC and am buying a Sony as I can get a free PS4 with it!!
I would be mad not to!!
