Hey Guys,
I am so excited to get hTC one X but I am really confused between the international and the att one
some would argue that dual-core snapdragon S4 is even better than T3 and vice versa .. any idea?
here why I am confused:
one x international: T3 better than S4?, will get upgrades b4 att,
one x att: S4 better than T3?, comes with warranty, cheaper (550$ VS 640$ for international)
my big concern is actually the warranty! 90$ is no big deal
to me, I don't care about the 16 VS 32 Gb or radio or even 4G!
so anyone to help me out?

I would think the international One X will have a better development crowd. That was the main reason I ordered the international model.

International version. For some reason development on cdma/lte phones is very slow. There's something about the configuration that makes things immensely complicated. Even Google stopped supporting the cdma Nexus devices.
Plus you can travel abroad with the international version.

I think the main reason development is slow on CDMA phones is that they're really only used in the United States. There simply is enough devs able to work with them. You have a good point about the international version though; you can take it traveling and pop any sim that uses the appropriate frequencies.
what about the warranty guys?
does it worth going with att htc one x for the warranty since international one doesn't come with any warranty?!

Both AT&T and INTL models have the same 3G support, only difference being the addition of the 4G radio. No major biggie here.
I'm in a postition to get the XL from my local 4G provider (Telstra in Australia, when they release it) but chose to get the INTL OneX from a dev perspective. Much larger dev crowd and earlier overall release. Look at the AT&T forum - dead! Yes it's only very early days there, but people were posting all over the INTL OneX forum well before it was available.
M.
i bought mine in europe and i have 1 year of warranty
ATT has a duel core version. INT has a quad core version
INT has 32gb of storage plus a extra 25gb from drop box . ATT has 16gb n no word on drop box offering 25gb
ATT has a LTE Radio inside which will be a battery killer. The INT just has a HSPA+ radio
INT version is everywhere so it will have a much bigger development than the US version
I just bought a international version n hope to have it tommrow.. the only big difference is the LTE radio.
Samsung had change the processor on the Galaxy Note and it has no problems
If support is such a big deal to you than stay with the ATT version and pay 4$ a month or w/e if your phone get lost or stolen or damage ..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
32 gb vs 16 is the main reason to chose the int. that and the AT&T box sux.

this is not the case in the US!
to get international version of the 1 x, u should buy it from amazon or ebay ..etc without warranty (well, ebay provide warranty from 3rd party for 89.99$)
international version is better in my opinion.
THIS ARTICLE will help. It compares the Tegra 3 powered One X to the Snapdragon S4 powered One S.
Unless you need 4G, the international version should come out on top benchmark wise.
If you check out Engadget's review of the LTE One X it is actually superior in most benchmarks because of the Snapdragon S4.

So I was thinking of getting the at&t htc one x but as you all may know it has its own set of issues. I'm on at&t but wouldnt mind getting the international htc one x version and not using lte as I'm not even in coverage areas anyways if you guys really recommend it. I like that the International hox has more space.
Also, not really interested in the galaxy s3 but the only thing that may have sparked interest is the sony xperia ion which is suppose to be coming to at&t in june. I believe it has lesser specs than the int. hox?
Either way, what do you guys recommend. Skip the at&t hox and go for the int. hox? I definitely like to root and rom, thats all I did on the htc inspire.

If you like to root and ROM, international One X it is....no questions asked. Simple and straightforward answer is to get Int'l One X.
Since ur also not in LTE areas, you can't turn off the LTE on AT&T One X from what I remember reading, so you'll drain battery just by having it on and get LTE like stats, instead of the 3G only stats which are nearly double the life.
Get International One X, Xperia Ion isn't good. An actual Sony flagship contendor is in the works though with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chip.
I see your in nyc, any dependable vendor you can recommend that has been shipping the int. hox with little to no defects? I only know expansys-usa but never ordered from them.

Order from Expansys, or Negri so just incase your model does have a defect, you can get replacement.
The Chinese models (ones manufactured in China) seem to have much less problems than the taiwan models.
Basically SH serial number seems to be better than HT for the most part. Mines an SH and all is well except for a slight flicker on light grey colors (software problem 95% sure but not noticeable) Other SH models have been problem free from what I hear. I have no flex or hardware issues

I personally chose the Galaxy S3 ( preordered yesterday) but I walked into an AT&T store today and saw and held the one x for the first time. I've never seen a phone or anything like this. The design is just too good, even the glamour grey, just an amazing looking phone. As far as you getting the intl' or the AT&T version, well since you like to root I guess get the intl' version. But the AT&T version is just much better right now. Excellent battery life and none of that lag crap.

correction, it is the other way around
I'd be stuck on 16gb(really like 10gb approx.) internal space, no root or way to unlock bl. Less dev support probably because of this. Seems neither hox is issue free though. Way more convenient to walk into an at&t store.

I don't agree with that. I ordered from Expansys and the unit was made in China and I had a yellow spot on my screen.
Decided to buy locally (2nd phone carrier branded HTC One X) and this is made from Taiwan and have no issues at all.
Chinese handsets are the ones that have problems.
I ended selling my 1st One X on eBay for $400 and was not really happy about the return policy with Expansys.

Release Information:
"Beginning June 20th, the Samsung GALAXY S III will be available through leading Canadian wireless carriers and authorized national retailers." (Source)
It'll be carried by the following carriers: WIND Mobile, Videotron, SaskTel, Virgin Mobile, Bell, Rogers, and TELUS, as well as the following retailers: GLENTEL, Best Buy, and Future Shop. (Source)
Bell also has a sign up page for the GS3. They too are getting the lte version.
I'll wait and see how development is for the bell version. If international roms are compatible, sans radio, I might get it, even though lte coverage here is f*** all, or I might just get the international version regardless.
Can't wait to play with one when they hit Canadian stores.

As far as I know, unless the Canadian version is the international, it usually coincides with it's American counterpart. Thus, I have a lot of ROMs I can flash to my Rogers Captivate, because the AT&T Captivate has a lot of ROMs as well.
But you can't go wrong with the international version. I personally don't mind getting the S4 chip in lieu of the Exynos, because I'm upgrading from my Cappy, so the increase in performance will be substantial regardless of whether the Exynos outperforms the S4 or not.
Plus I want to experience LTE. I have 6 GBs of LTE data that my non-LTE phone hasn't been able to make use of.
Damn. The HST is killing the price for the S3. I'm in Vancouver. I might have to settle with getting it at mobileDNA in Richmond. Cash, no tax.
June 20th?? First Day of Summer!!!
Samsung did say in time for the summer at their London Event.
Samsung’s Galaxy S III is one of the most anticipated Android devices ever made. It’s coming to Canada on basically every carrier ”this Summer,” TELUS, Bell, WIND, Videotron, SaskTel, Mobilicity, Virgin Mobile and Rogers. We reported last week that Samsung will start a Canadian trek on May 30th to give employees and retail outlets the “Galaxy S III interactive training sessions.”
We’ve been hearing several launch dates, such as the June 20th date that’s listed in the above screenshot. The first day of Summer is June 20th and would ever so smoothly fall in line with what Samsung’s official press release quoted “in time for the summer.” Future Shop and Best Buy also confirmed that they will have the GS III available when it launches and we’re also hearing that pre-orders will go live on May 30th.

Won't let me most post link but there is an ad that has all the major carriers in Canada and the Galaxy S III of course.

Blue, because I've already had a white phone before. I also do a lot of browsing in bed with the lights off, so the blue will blend in with the night.
And trust me, this was not an easy decision to make, because the white S3 is a gorgeous device, and it looks better than the blue in pictures. But a lot of people have said the blue looks better in real life than in the pictures.
Hopefully, Rogers will have both colors in stock when it launches. If they only have one, I'll get whichever is available.

The reason I decided to get the international version is because there's a possbility that the North American version will have the four capacitive keys. I want the international version with the one hard key. I love it on the S2. I just love that you have two options to wake up the phone.
Here's the article on the AT&T and T-Mobile version. If AT&T and T-Mobile are getting a different look, you can bet the Canadian carriers will get it as well.

Hi guys, i want to give my wife an HTC ONE X, but i have some doubts about which version should i choose.
First of all, i must say ATT version is 390$ unlocked on ebay from a top rated seller, and also have 1 year warranty in US.
The international version is costing 460$ from an online store im used to buy and they say it comes with 1 year warranty from HTC UK.
US warranty sounds better because i always come to US, but with the international version i can have jelly bean right away and 32gb.
What about perfomance?
Since we live in Brazil, 4G wont be compatible, only 3g.
Im also thinking about the LG OPTIMUS 4x HD.
Why should i choose one over another?
Thanks!!
if your wife isnt an enthusiast you should go for the cheaper with best warranty.
jb will come eventually
the only aspect i can see here is the capacity of the device. if she really needs the 32gb...
is there a big difference between international and north american...

a north american s3 for about 200$ ish is that good?
how difficult is it to unlock the s3?
how much can i over clock and such
how much support is there for i747m or could you use all those uhm at&t roms i see
Besides the int version having quad core and canadian version having dual core cpu you will not get LTE with the int verzion. Get the i747m dude.easy too root..lots of roms and att roms work fine on our phones since the att phone is pretty much the same.$200 is a steal for the phone...

Because it is a new year and with the new Galaxy S4 potentially coming out in about 4 months I would strongly recommend that you don't sign up for a new 3 year contract! Buy a good used one... Kijiji or Craigslist.

And this is the killer .....the India version will not have LTE! !
LG in its infinite wisdom has chosen to remove LTE from the Indian model..and probably the reason is that LTE is not yet available in India ..but were 3G phones not launched by Nokia like 6 years back when nobody in India even knew what 3G meant? Model number e988 for India..
e988 is also for HK..
It only has 16 GB internal memory...
This is ridiculous...does LG expect u to buy new phones when LTE launches in India in 6 months time?
and this phone just won the 'best LTE device's award ...how ironic
After having waited for the phone so long, feel cheated a bit
Edit; here is the link to the official specs for Optimius G Pro on LG India's website

Actually 3G phones have a unified radio i.e. a set of only 4 frequencies and a single modem can be used for all those....in case of LTE a unified radio is still no available and each modem they have to put in a phone caters to a specific LTE band...even in a single country there are multiple bands and the phone's LTE won't work on each other....for example in Korea there are three models of LG OGP F-240 K/L/S each caters to LTE of different carrier and cannot be used on another network...
thus if LG removed LTE it is a good thing as it will be useless until a carrier identifies the band it has been allocated by the Govt and will use....also comparison with 3G before time is not relevant as working mechanism is slightly different

Actually there are a few things to consider here
1) the Indian version still uses snapdragon 600 which is a chipset that has LTE enabled by default ...so actually LG has had to work to disable it rather than enable it, and I fail to think why they did that. Reminds me very much of the nexus 4 where they did the same thing
2) you are right about LTE bands not decided yet for India ...only working LTE service, Airtel in kolkata on a pilot basis, uses a 2300 MHz band which is not supported by any of the international phones ...however it is likely that when LTE services are rolled out on a mass scale, bands will be chosen based on popular bands internationally, in which case the chosen bands are likely to be one of the bands on the phone ..unless the Indian rollout uses LTE advanced, which is not available on any version of this phone, I think there is a strong possibility that with LTE enabled, this phone will be future proof
3) I don't think disabling LTE will lead to any cost advantage as the chipset is still going to cost the same
4) with LTE disabled, any custom rom support for international versions like AT&T etc is unlikely to work for the Indian version (although that may be the case with LTE enabled also but with LTE disabled the radio configuration will definitely not allow such porting)
Only saving grace could be if LG announce that they are not advertising LTE in the specs but that have not disabled it.
Lets wait for July 4th

No LTE is not a thing to be disappointed about...at the moment you have no LTE network and as for "future proofing" the argument is not that strong as you cannot confirm that the band will match....
as for 16GB...imo it is enough but again you have the option of expandable memory and with a simple script you can move app data to sd card...plus usually 16/32 GB models differ in price as much as $100 but you can get a 32GB card for as low as $30.....so im happy if only 16GB model is available as it will keep price low and chance of more people buying it and hence maybe more development
in a nutshell i don't see any real issues here to get disappointed over but again its my humble opinion

Mumbai Update:-
I went to alfa today (renowned place for phones in mumbai) and they said they dont bother keeping LG's any model except the nexus 4, the dealer was very vague in saying once you buy an LG product forget about getting good service. I for one was upset knowing this at first.
secondly this youtube review shows extra battery, a chargeable dock aswell. So it doesnt matter if its non lte or 16 gb but if these goodies are packed then its worth it. I mean there isnt good resale with LG but what the heck its better than note 2 at the moment and pretty usable.
Anybody here knows any place in mumbai where is it gonna be available? Please update here

Alfa is a laggard, not a leader...they will keep a phone only if it becomes popular or the brand is popular..don't waste time worrying about what they said.
The extra battery and charging dock are only for the Korean version...for India you will get standard stuff - charger, headphones, USB cable

Sorry I seem to be bringing only bad news to this thread - I call it a reality check
