I searched the forum for such an incident and even though there were similar incidents none of them could help me see where i was going wrong. The phone was sent to get its screen replaced and the idiots at vodafone reflashed it. Ever since it refuses to pass the HTC screen. It can still go to bootloader and flash mode. I tried the simple method of putting the .zip on the SD card but it tells me CID error, I honestly dont want to send this back to vodafone i fear if it returns this time it might explode if i try to turn it on.
Summary:
1. Phone wont pass the HTC screen
2. Tried the simple reformatting method
3. ?
Any insight to this puzzle would be greatly appreciated
thanks
do you know your cid? if you do you have to open the file you're trying to flash and edit the text file that needs your cid

no i dont, and the methods of obtaining it i saw in the similar instances required the use of a CID getting app, but this requires the phone to be on and booted, which it cant do
Have you unlocked your bootloader? If you have, boot into the bootloader, enable fastboot and flash ClockworkMod Recovery, then install a ROM.
The bootloader doesnt seem to be unlocked, i'll look into it and post the results thanks
Ok by some miracle the phone is now booting but i want to ensure its stability I used the CID getter app and the CID is [VODAP102] please tell me where specifically to pop this in the readme file in the zip
I put the CID number in the android-info text file everywhere i saw that it needed a CID number and it goes to bootloader checks the .zip then return to the hboot main screen :/
Specs on bootloader screen:
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.90.0000
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.53.39.03M

Still havent made any progress, once again my plea is for assistance with this quandry
I also tried flashing ClockWorkMod Recovery and it put me back to the bootloader screen
Ok, I have been doing some reading and it seems this can be solved by making a goldcard and flashing from it, or by unlocking the bootloader, I tried both of these procedures with the relevant guides found on this site. I am now lost and confused to wether i should still try to fix it or jus throw it into a wall

I live in Jamaica but the HTC Wildfire S i got is from Vodafone Germany. I would allow you to do remote access but i wish to understand this process as I am getting a HTC G1 soon which I want to MOD the hell out off
You say that ever since Vodafone sent your phone back, your phone hasn't been booting ? First thing to do is send it back to them, if you're absolutely certain it's their fault.

What model go you have?
You might want to try and regenerate your unlock key, relock your phone, verify it works without a issue, reunlock, then flash custom recovery again

Ok i understood it. The thing is that in order to flash stock rom we need:
1.RUU.exe for htc desire 816 dual sim india[Not available]
2. Stock Rom [Available]
3. Stock recovery[Available]
4. Fastboot commands like
fastboot oem lock
fastboot flash recovery (recoveryname).img
[Ok this is also available]
Since the stock RUU is not available there is no way in which you can revert back to stock.
So I went to hTc service centre they told me that they cannot help me since my device is *TAMPERED*. They told me the only solution is to change the motherboard which will give you stock.
Even i mailed hTc about the problem they told me that reverting back to stock is not possible("Officially".coz they havent released the ruu for us. Actually its possible if you have ruu. But they wont give u ruu.).
They told the same reason that my device is tampered.
SOLUTION:
What i did:
Unlocked my bootloader by following steps on hTC dev site
Flashed TWRP by followings steps on twrp site for a5
(Luckily i had cm12 )So it booted into system.
But if you dont have any rom, then flash it thru recovry.
SO BASICALLY WE ARE STUCK ON CUSTOM ROM, UNTILL THEY RELEASE RUU.

this is bull****; they can and they will fix your device even if it's tampered. they do have all the required files, no motherboard change is needed. you'll just have to assure them that it's your responsibility, and that you'll pay the cost. If you can 't come to an agreement with your local hTC care, try another one. try writing to hTC support and/or customer experience/social media. explain your problem to them, they will come around. even if they don't at last, there are third party service shops that have the required files and can fix your phone(atleast where I live). I've heard that some even do it over the internet for you
cost of mobo change is usually 1/2 to 2/3 of the price of the device

This is the reply I got from a chat session with a HTC service guy. "In regards to your query, we would like to inform you that HTC does not recommend our customers to convert or root the device as doing so voids the warranty of the device and also it may cause hardware to malfunction. We do not provide support for rooting and unlocking the bootloader." "I would like to inform you that we cannot help you with the RUU file ." When I asked the reason for not releasing the RUU the guy just ended the chat session!

Hi, I did the bootloader unlock, then flashed twrp recovery and rooted my one m8 to remove some default system apps. I did this as I liked the htc 10 concept, so followed it. Now after all that I, I did a reset of my phone to remove root and flashed back the original recovery file. And I relocked the bootloader to try to make it all back to normal and thinking that warning sign "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." will go. But the problem came when i did the relock of the bootloader, and restarted the phone I got stuck in fastboot/hboot. Restarted many times even did factory reset from stock recovery but still stuck on fastboot/hboot. So I had no option to unlock bootloader again and get my phone working .
Please I want to remove the "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." being in unlock bootloader or locked bootloader doesn't matter .
As you can see the message in this image : http://img.wonderhowto.com/img/original/76/55/63535576749449/0/635355767494497655.jpg

In that case it should go away if you revert to stock and switch it back to S-ON or look here, but there is currently nothing you can do if you're on the latest WWE firmware as there hasn't been a custom aboot made for it.

This stupid, ugly error message is due to a non-stock kernel. As long as you're running a stock kernel, this shouldnt show up (atleast for me). I am currently running Viper10 2.7.0 and it doesnt show that message on startup. Now, if i go and flash elementalx kernel, that message will be displayed. The way to get rid of this is to either download a modified aboot image or modify it yourself via hex editor. There are simple instructions on how to do this for the htc m9, here on XDA. I dont have a link, but a quick search should be able to find it. Another thing you can do is download a modified aboot image from the link in the previous post and download the corresponding stock aboot image of the same version and use a program like "Beyond Compare" to load up both files and do a side by side comparison. It will show you exactly what was modified. Basically it comes down to just erasing the message in a hex editor and reflashing. Please exercise EXTREME CAUTION if choosing to do this. Aboot is a CRITICAL partiton which contains the bootloader. I would imagine if aboot gets flashed improperly or is hex edited incorrectly, the device is toast. Good luck!
Hi All,
I just S_OFFed with LOCKED bootloader my WWE HTC 10, converted to US Unlocked (cid: BS_US001 / mid: 2PS650000) and restored the latest firmware using ruu I downloaded from HTC US website. I also have that red message when I start my phone up. Is it okay when I'm using stock rom without root?

It does not bother me, I'm just curious whether is there US unlocked htc 10 that is not a dev phone? Like on cid BS_US001 I can't disable "Usage and error reporting" because it says " Notwithstanding the above statement, this is a test device and HTC's property. By using this device, you understand and agree...." blablabla. Is there other cid for US Unlocked (what cid US citizens have?) , but not dev/ HTC property one ??

Theres a app in your system called udove.apk. Delete that and that's the forced error reporting.

Hi. Did you install SuperSU?
I had the same problem with this boot loop today when I flashed BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-forceencrypt. I just reflashed with SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502 following this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/ht...-off-radio-t3373025/post66714156#post66714156
I hope this helps.
MY HTC DESIRE 10 PRO show that red lines devolopement purposes only etc and it is rebooting again and again and cant open my phone.HELP ME BROS??
Hello
My stock HTC M9 is stuck in a boot loop.
S-ON
OS 4.30.841.1
I can access the stock recovery mode by 'Reboot to Recovery Mode' then pressing power + volume up when the red triangle appears.
In recovery mode I can Apply update from ADB and Apply update from SD card. Unfortunately can't get ADB to recognise the phone as connected. (probably because USB debugging was not enabled before the phone got stuck in boot loop?)
Anyway have tried to apply the following updates from SD card that I have found links to on these forums
0PJAIMG_HIMA_UHL_L50_SENSE70_Telstra_WWE_1.32.841.7_R_Radio_01.01_U11440261_56.01.50303G_3_F_release_425231_signed.zip
OTA_HIMA_UHL_N70_SENSE80_MR_Telstra_WWE_4.23.841.1_R1-3.38.841.6_release_4967203jqx6xvhwi80vam2.zip
Both come back with the same error
[E:footer is wrong ... E:signature verification failed]
Does anybody have a copy of the stock Telstra RUU for 4.30.841.1 with the correct package verification they would be willing to share?
Also open to any other suggestions to on how to recover this device.
You dont flash in recovery, you flash in download mode..
Rename the 2nd one to 0PJAIMG.ZIP and copy it to an sdcard, put sdcard in the phone and boot into download mode. You should see a prompt at the bottom of the screen to press vol+ to flash.
If you don't get the option then the firmware isn't signed and you'll need to find another one.
The signature has nothing to do with the prompt since that check is the first step of the flashing process after you accepted the prompt.
And flashing the 4.23.841.6 RUU on that phone isn't possible with S-ON. Only RUUs that have a higher version than your phone or 4.30.841.x (with x being any number) RUUs can get flashed without S-OFF in this case since all numbers in front of the SKU (841) and the SKU itself need to match for a downgrade.
Websites like ir-file or easy-firmware might have the needed RUU. Both will require you to pay for the file, though.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Labs
Thx Flippy498 that's exactly why I'm asking if anyone on this forum has a Telstra 4.30 RUU they're willing to share!
Anyone... Anyone?
I'll search the web a bit more but not willing to pay for the file as phone is 3 years old.
I noticed that HTC dev site offers the source code for the Telstra 4.30 kernel. Anybody have instructions to turn this into a RU?

That's not possible since no one except HTC has access to the needed signature. And without signature you won't be able to flash the file with S-ON.
