Strange issues having after update to android marshmallow. - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently updated to android 6. After the update 2 major issues i am facing
1.App settings goes to reset after phone restart. Its quite irritating as every time it restart i have to change settings again. Not checked all apps though but in whatsapp, playstore, tapatalk etc
2.Phone always turns off when it comes to 15 - 9 percentage battery level.
If anyone know a fix for this??
Edit 1: My issues has been resolved after one full reset. U guys would try.
Edit 2: Again same issues i am facing some days after full reset. So bad HTC like company pushing so buggy update. Shame.

Well, firstly, what is your CID and are you s-on or s-off
Thats the question one must ask before flashing.

Do not always ask for a cid only, it can be changed. Model ID is very important too. Basically the output of "fastboot getvar all" will be much more informative in ALL cases.
It tells you all

*Unbranded* UK One X owners, 1.29 update via download, explained for noobs

Info taken from the 1.29 update thread. I am posting this seperately to avoid repetitious requests. Big thanks to EddyOS for this
This will wipe your phone of all apps & updates, however, saved data will remain i.e. save games
Download the latest HTC Sync
Download the Europe 1.29 RUU update http://cxsr.eu/pubftp/onex/RUU_END...adio_1.1204.104.14_release_259281_signed.exe
Charge the phone to 100%
Turn phone off (make sure fast boot is off in Settings>Power)
Turn on holding volume down
Press power to get to FASTBOOT
Connect to PC
Make sure Windows installs the right drivers (they come as part of HTC Sync)
Once Windows has installed the drivers, start the RUU
Follow the instructions
Before you try above may want to give this ago.

As for the RUU update, you forgot to add the disclaimer that it wipes the phone.

You run the RUU and once it's finished you can delete it - entirely up to you (but I'd keep it safe in case you need it)
If you're on x.xx.206.x then you can't use this anyway as you have a branded o2 handset - this is ONLY for unbranded users currently running x.xx.401.x
I followed what you said. but now it wont let me download from google play it just keeps saying error! help!

Recent OTA update for Stock VM HTC One V

Anyone tried this yet?
I imagine you'd only see it if you are running the stock Sense Rom. I suspect it would cause issues with my root however, figured I wait a few weeks for smoke signals before I decide if it's something I need or not.

In your opinion is thus update worth It or should we just wait for the future updates? As far as the connection things go what will it update and what does it do with the connectivity? Does it make our data connection faster? Better reception maybe?

I DO NOT recommend updating with this 73 mb update. there currently isn't an ruu that is compatible with the updated hboot this gives you. this is causing a lot of clutter around the forums. DO NOT update unless you're fine with not being able to downgrade back.

I do have a backup but it won't boot how can I retrieve boot.img from it?TW TWRP 2.5
on your computer go to your SD card and go into TWRP folder and find your backup, just click in folders until you get to it. there should be a file called boot.emmc.win rename that one to boot.img then fast boot flash it. make sure not to use the md5 of it though.

sadly, probably not. it will just backup whatever kernel you have now. you can download one of the roms that do work with the new radio. I'm gonna try and find one of my boots for you.

People say it works, I, however had no luck. It kept on fecthing the bin to unlock (last step) for at least an hour when I eventually gave up and htcdev unlocked the bootloader in under 5 minutes.

May I know how you rooted your HTC One M7 on Sense 6.0? I heard that the Sense 6.0 update had some increased security such that no rooting software works? Haven't had much luck finding how to root it; would appreciate it if you could provide some links!

No he can't that's the problem. Running a ruu form method on a s-on device needs a relocked bootloader so the answer eddy gave was and still is in this case very safe and fail proof.
s-on - needs relocked bootloader

Unlock your bootloader, root, install TWRP and flash CyanogenMod ROM. Don't forget about the Gapps.
Do this and you'll have a working device.
Well the first thing is that you can't just run any ruu......i wonder if anyone noticed that you have the DUAL-SIM M8 phone and NOT the single sim (general model) M8.........check if you have the correct DUAL-SIM ruu or a DUAL-SIM nandroid backup !

New m9 camera improvement ota

Hello people,
I just got my brand new shiny and unlocked M9 yesterday and right from minute one it downloaded an OTA for "bug fixes".
I was reading through all the android sites about the OTA that will improve a lot the quality of the pictures with the main camera but strangely enough this OTA hasnt appear so far on my M9.
Do you think that this could be already installed out of the box or is it a CID issue (BTW CID is 032).
Just to be sure did anyone got the camera improvement OTA?
If so can you share the software version number?

I really don't know if there is a big difference in camera quality after the update because I immediately updated and rooted my M9. You can flash the .17 RUU is you're rooted and you have S-off.
Here are the RUU
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/htc-one-m9-dump-t3060545
Be careful and make sure you know what you are doing
It really strange but M9 says there is no update available. About flashing anything you dont need to worry I wasnt planning to do it anyway. Too many people have bricked their phones so I decided a long time ago to keep my devices pure stock.

This is the app that simply adds raw in the camera. What I was talking about was the OTA that it improves the camera in low light conditions.

There's your problem right there. Rooting will break OTA support. You will need to either obtain and flash an OEM nandroid that matches your variant from another user here , or get an RUU from HTC to completely reset the phone. That RUU might already have the camera fix in it, so check versions and changelogs to be sure.
