Re-lock the bootloader and flash the 3.33.40 1.6 RUU via microSD car (if you have one) and it should be OK
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B17smFr95pleaW9iTFBiSUE2OVE/view?usp=sharing

tnx a lot sir
the file is downloding sir
how i flash it ?
copy in sd card and ?

1. Rename it 0P6BIMG.zip (not 0P6BIMG.zip.zip obviously)
2. Copy it to the microSD card
3. Boot phone into HBOOT and it should find the file and ask if you want to continue

HBOOT
SD Checking...
No gift file...
Loading...[0P6BDIAG.zip]
after this
checking...
after this
press <POWER> to reboot
and then bootloader again...

So it doesn't allow you to update the device? And you relocked the bootloader? If so, please post a screenshot as you did the OP

as for the correct info.......if he is s-on he needs to relock it, with s-off its not mandatory but definetly not wrong as it works anyway.
:good:

i cant share screenshots cause xda dont allow me
have here upload center for photos and i upload here ?
please help me

Why you tell him to relock, he can do what he wants with the bootloader unlocked very well.

No he can't that's the problem. Running a ruu form method on a s-on device needs a relocked bootloader so the answer eddy gave was and still is in this case very safe and fail proof.
s-on - needs relocked bootloader
s-off - doesn't matter at all
see...safe. please take this very well ment advice to do some fine research. then we all can be happy and help others in a correct and useful way

UniversalKID said:
Worst advice, never relock the bootloader.

You have to to flash an RUU, shows how much you know
Plus it's nice and easy to unlock it again if you need to, so it's perfectly sound advice

Unlock your bootloader, root, install TWRP and flash CyanogenMod ROM. Don't forget about the Gapps.
Do this and you'll have a working device.

Well the first thing is that you can't just run any ruu......i wonder if anyone noticed that you have the DUAL-SIM M8 phone and NOT the single sim (general model) M8.........check if you have the correct DUAL-SIM ruu or a DUAL-SIM nandroid backup !

Going back to stock ROM

After trying some ROMs I can't help but feel disappointed for several reasons, and I'd like to go back to Stock rom
Problem is I never had one, I only had ICS with a rom from the company I bought it from
I'd like to go back to clean Jelly bean Stock rom
Is that available for download somewhere?
And how do you install it? is it a firmware flashed with Odin or is it a boot.img?
I'm kinda new at these stuff, so newb tips would help
Thanks in advance
Do you know fastboot commands ?
Put the phone in fastboot USB (bootloader menu)
And do these fastboot commands
Fastboot getvar version-main
and
Fastboot OEM readcid
Post the outcome here !
Didn't understand anything from the 2nd command, so:

Try it without the capital letters
Like oem readcid
Or
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
Well I could've just told you my CID if you asked ._."
HTC_K18 [I'm from Israel, that CID is the importer's so it's weird :\ I guess I need some kind of international version?]
Might be difficult to find a ruu for that cid. I guess you'll get more out of the following thread than I do:
http://iandroid.co.il/forum/topic98747.html
I remember you. I helped you install cm10 in the first place. I hope you did a backup of the stock rom like I told you to. Did you?

Actually no >< I skipped it since it didn't work out at the beginning and I already started the process ... Sorry
But I never actually had a stock rom in the first place ...
I realize that it was a mistake, but does that mean I only have to find a RUU for this CID?

Well, I wasn't 100% sure and I'd expect you to just ask me to download a cid getter for that xD
Well to be honest i have never seen a cid like yours ! Don't know where to look for a ruu
Can't find that ruu either ... :3
I've got a few ideas, lemme know if they can work:
1. Unlocking hboot resets device settings, right? I remember getting a stock rom after I've done that... what if I relock it and then unlock again?
2.If I find another guy with the same CID as mine with a HOX, can I somehow copy the files required from him? or maybe if he backups his device, then send it to me and I restore it on mine?
1) it'll "factory reset", but it won't flash the stock ROM bits!
2) somebody else's backup is the standard choice when RUU doesn't exist. There is a thread dedicated to this.

It doesn't have my CID .... But I can surely get one
1 last question about this.... if someone has never unlocked his phone or done anything to it, can he go to Bootloader Recovery and back it up? :3 If not, maybe the ROM manager app can do it?
Bump... please :3
Nope. If you have not unlocked your phobe then it is running stock recovery, and stock htc recocery doesnt support nandroid backups. Also you wont be able to use rom manager as rom manager itself works on a base of CWM recovery.

No unlocking the bootloader does not install CWM recovery, you have to do that yourself or with a tool !
Unlocking the bootloader only provides the privilege to flash modified parts to the phone

OTA up date and root question

Hi Guy I've been trying to find the answer but there so much info on here I'm having trouble finding answer to my question.
My phone has been Rooted and its currently on 4.0.4 and sense 4.1

But unable to install it due to the cid I beleave. Is there any way around this? Id like to be able to do the update with out wiping my phone ie backing it up and restoring it
Is it at all possible? would someone be kind enough to explane it to me?

It fails go install because you haven't got the stock recovery installed. You gotta flash it to update.
Gonna give you the link in a minute.
Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wbav46spkbznovp/stock recovery 2.17.img
Just flash by "fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img"
Then update and it should install no problem.

Thanks guy I'll have a go when I have a spare moment and let you know how it went.
By doing either of these methods will I wipe my phone/factory reset?
Thanks again for the help
Only flash back the stock recovery and update the phone ....do NOT wipe anything ! After you updated to stock JB you can flash back the custom recovery and make a nandroid (to be sure u have one) nd reroot the rom or flash a totally new custom rom

No, your data should be safe if everything goes well. But do a backup anyway, before you flash stock recovery. And remember, if you'll go by the tutorial, use stock recovery provided by one of us two, not from tutorial (I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's only for older HBOOTs).
Just wanted to let you all know its done and went so smooth and quick to do. I think it took all of 1.45 sec. lol
I'm now updated to the latest software and I didn't lose any settings, I used the Voodoo OTA app and kept my root too
So thank you for those who helped
No problem mate.

Yes I have. I'm gonna flash the newest version of TWRP and hope that it fixes it. I had a similiar problem on my TF300 and that fixed it
updating my recovery worked. at least in the sense that I can mount system now. Gapps installed and it's letting me do a nandroid so. that's a step in the right direction
For Future reference, don't use All in one tools(this is a personal note)
Edit: ET Voila. I feel like an idiot. I had this issue with my tablet and should have thought of it first.
Thanks guys

You shouldn't have installed an outdated recovery version to begin with. That is just asking for trouble.
Stay away from Toolkits, they cause more problems than they solve. Anything a toolkit can do, you should be able to easily do manually.

I can try the RUU process but will it result?
In this thread ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/htc-one-m8-stuck-fastboot-menu-t3343506 ) the last guy says to unlock the bootloader and flash custom recovery. How can I do that without access to the phone into a normal state?

The RUU linked by ckpv5 is specifically intended for your model, and that is the reason why he is telling you to use it.
Trust that guy, he knows what he is talking about. He doesn't guess or screw around.

The current condition is fine, for unlocking the bootloader. You don't need a working OS to do it. But this is a much more complicated approach than the suggested RUU. You would need to get an unlock bin code from HTCDev.com, unlock the bootloader, install custom recovery. Even then, that doesn't get you a working OS. You then have to get an appropriate ROM or stock TWRP backup onto the phone, then flash/restore it.
So again, the RUU is a lot easier for the given situation (unmodified phone, bootloader locked, etc.). Just download the RUU, and run it per the linked instructions, and it will install a full stock image to the phone.
Thanks, will try in a few hours (just giving some juice (charge) to the phone )
While reading the topic I realized he knows the stuff it was just to confirm as I didn't specify the model

The RUU linked by ckpv5 is specifically intended for your model, and that is the reason why he is telling you to use it.
Trust that guy, he knows what he is talking about. He doesn't guess or screw around.

We have magical ways of knowing.
Actually, since the device is not modified, the OS number on the bootloader screen tells is what model it is (the 401 is for Euro version MID op6b100).
But also, he wouldn't tell you to use just any RUU, unless he had a reason to suggest that particular one.
Additionally, even if it was the wrong RUU, it would not damage your phone. With s-on, it would just fail to install and give you a message that it is the wrong RUU. It's with s-off (SuperCID, etc.), you need to be careful about wrong RUU.
I have to say guys: this actually worked! You both were superb!
On behalf of him, thank you!
