One week with the Nexus… A long ass review.

Ok, I picked up the Nexus on December 15th at 9:30 am from Best Buy. I said it on another thread; I think I’m one of the lucky ones that got a good unit. The list of issues that some phones are having I THANKFULLY have not seen. First thing I did with it was unlock it. It is a nexus after all. I’m not rooted as of yet.
First off, the screen is amazing. It’s a PenTile display, fine, who cares. Anyone worried about that, get over it. I think sometimes we spend so much effort researching every little detail on paper and forget that the real world execution of the tech is all that really matters. It’s not a perfect display but I can’t think of too many phones that have a better one. It’s right on par with the iPhone 4S (if not richer), and almost an inch bigger. The whites are ALMOST perfectly white (on mine anyway) and I’m not seeing any blue or green tint. The blacks are just about pure black.
The only lag I have seen on this phone is with home screen swiping (this is very rare), and app drawer especially in the widgets section (this is consistent). From what I have read, this is a bug with 4.0.2 and hopefully fixed with 4.0.3. I know people have roms up and running and say its butter smooth again. The phone is fast has hell. It doesn’t have the break neck speed of the SGS2 but it has a smoothness you really only see on the iPhone. All the native google apps load quick and are very responsive. I have run into some games and general apps that simply don’t play nice with ICS, but these will be fixed in time I’m sure. I also picked up the Xoom on day one, so I’m used to having some apps not working out of the box.
The camera is good, not great, but good. I have read people calling it total garbage; I don’t think that’s true at all. For the life of me I don’t know why they DIDN’T go with the 8 mega pixel one from the SGS2, but they didn’t. It is what it is. My thinking, and I could be totally wrong here, is that the “no shutter lag” was a big selling point. A 5 mega pixel image may have worked better at achieving this. The no shutter lag thing btw is very cool. Great for getting the shots that normally blow by you when you are waiting for the damn phone to snap already… hehe. The only down side is you will get some blurry pictures. Just have to learn to have a steady hand and it works just fine. I have noticed a yellowing of indoor shots when the flash is on. If you can get away with it and there is enough light in the room, just leave the flash off. Without flash the pictures actually look better. Outdoor shots look great. No complaints at all here. Pictures to have on your phone; show friends, post on twitter or facebook, the camera is more than good enough. If you want professional level pictures that you can blow up to poster size, get a real camera.
I spend a lot of time around wifi. I normally have a very strong signal but I will say that as I get further from the router location the weaker the signal gets. This is true for all phones, obviously, but more with the nexus then other phones I have used. My house has almost no coverage from Verizon, but there is enough to make calls and text. When I’m home, wifi is all I use for data. I have had the phone a week, and have yet to drop a single call, miss a text or have a text not go through. People I call say I sound like I’m on a land line. It’s been crystal clear on my side and theirs. I know others have had problems, but I can only speak to my experience. When I leave my house I pick up 3g with no problem. I get the same 3g signal strength as my old Droid Incredible. When I go into town and get into 4g area, I pick it up NO problem at all. Pops right on, and holds it strong. Web browsing is lightning fast and doesn’t drop. To save battery, I leave LTE off when not in town. It’s a good habit to get into. If the coverage isn’t good, don’t try and force it. As far as batter life, I was worried at first. After a few days of charging with the phone off, then letting it run all the way down to dead, the life has been great. (see the screen shot) Admittedly, it was a light use day, but I spent time on wifi, some 4g, some 3g. 46% on 12 hours and 36 min. Can’t complain.
Overall I would have to say it’s the best phone I have ever used. Is it a perfect phone? Nope… But lets think about this. New hardware mixed with a brand new OS on Verizon’s “work-in-progress” LTE network. Anyone who thought this was going to be bug free coming out of the box was kidding themselves. This is a Nexus phone. We will be getting regular updates. Some will fix things, some will break things. One thing you can count on is Google will be supported for at least 18 months. This is something you can’t say for most every phone. If you have the patience to put up with early growing pains, this is a device that will reward you.
I think I have babbled enough… To sum up, phone good…

It’s right on par with the iPhone 4S (if not richer), and almost an inch bigger.???

With all the bad press, reviews an bug reports on here latley i rekon it has put a lot of people off getting this awesome peice of kit so just to clear the air when all is said and done would you still get the One X again i would for sure

It's not always that simple. There are three types of issues:
1) S/W which is correctable over time. HTC's future rests on the success of the One line so I have confidence the X will be updated as frequently as necessary. A lot of the issues reported seem (to me) to be s/w related.
2) H/W issues which fall in to two categories. The first being random production defects which don’t affect every device equally. The second category is consistent failings that affect every device (like the black One S's coating chipping off). The majority of h/w issues I've seen posted seem to fall in to the first category.
3) Design flaws. The Sensation antenna-gate issue is an example of this. So far the One X doesn't seem to have any of these.
Even with all that's been posted I ordered one that's due to arrive tomorrow. If it performs well, it stays. If it's flaky (beyond what's reasonable for a new device), it goes back.
Everyone's expectations are different and both the happy and unhappy need to be respected.

I like the phone and it will not be going back. There isn't a single phone on the market in my opinion that matches it when it comes to its combination of looks and specifications and shear wow factor. Its taken me almost 8 months to pick a phone that met all of my requirements after coming from the original Desire.
I am not a hard core phone gamer (But i can be if i want to be now), I am not someone that needs endless memory cards for tonnes of music and video (I have a PC for this, transfer rates are super fast, so it really isn't a hard ship, plus there is dropbox), I do not need a replaceable battery as I have a technet 7000mah portable which is great, its also just as portable as a spare battery anyway (Not that I have had any cause to use it yet).
I also have the white version, so shouldn't have any paint issues.
Yes it has Sense 4.0 which tends to hang every now and then, yes the video camera isn't as good as it will be, all of which are software, and WILL be fixed. Yes it has a rattle when you shake it like an idiot next to your ear, but I will never need to do that unless there is a Maraca app!
Its a mass produced product, as is the case with EVERYTHING mass produced there are batches that have faults and experience issues. Look at the mighty Apple I-Phone! Slight rant over

Yes of course ure correct thats why i feel people need a better idea of those who have the device are they happy knowing and waiting for fixes or would they have choosing different. My reason for post is that theres a lit of people went down the one S route due to all the posts here. Of course there is reason to complain just wanted people to no that im sure there are others like me happy knowing that the fixes will come an the device is great

The difference in price between the S and X isn't that far apart. I think I would get a sense of buyers remorse 6 months down the line if I went for the S.

but on a serious note i love my phone and i would recommend it to people no matter what. i know i had a few problems with my phones but it is due to me being picky..but overall it is a beautiful phone to have and would recommend it to many more people..and i exchanging my white version for the grey...saw my mates one and it looks more damn sexier than the white

I was going to order white, then I changed my order for grey. Then I was having second thoughts so I went to look at them both in a shop before my order arrived. So glad I went for grey now

Good thread. I was surprised to find so many negative comments about the One X on here. It's cutting edge, possibly even bleeding... I bought mine in the knowledge that there may be some teething problems, but I'm more likely to still have something "current" in 18 months as the 2 year contract nears it's end. There are't many phone's that is true of.

Exactly it will be long while before theres are more powerful phone around and i cant wait to see what devs are cooking

I came to the One X from a Desire. This is my 3rd HTC mobile and I've loved all of them. I have really enjoyed having the Desire and it's been superb for build quality, reliability and always looked great. Having dozens of lovely roms to play with once it was rooted made all the difference after I became bored with Sense.
So, it was a no brainer for me to choose the One X. Quad core, Tegra 3, that lovely huge, curved screen and ICS were too good to pass up. The phone is stunning and I was most surprised at the looks when I put it beside my Desire. There really is no comparison at all.
It's incredibly fast. I've never used a phone so quick before. The new minimalist Sense is a joy to use and ICS is a great improvement for Android. The screen feels like silk to touch and hasn't attracted much in the way of fingerprints at all. It's lovely to use, very responsive, accurate and image quality is mind blowingly good. Although I don't have the official headphones, Beats Audio does sound fab through a pair of Sennheisers. It ramps up the bass, which is the weakest part of the closed back headphones I have. And so on and on. This mobile is amazing in many ways.
That's the pro's. The con's are:
1. Screen and case don't match up properly. There's a minute gap between the screen and the case along the top and down the left side of mine. This is not normal and classed as a fault by HTC (I asked them). After only 1wk, there's a tiny white strand of cloth under my screen. It can't be seen until the screen is black and it's in the corner. But, as I said to T-Mobile and HTC on the phone today; if it's collected something under the screen after 1wk, what is it going to look like after a few months? HTC said it's a definite fault and should be returned for a replacement. I will be doing so next week.
2. Gripes with the Tegra 3 performance. I know others have seen this on a few games, but for my Desire to easily outperform this phone when playing Stair Dismount is a real disappointment. Secret Exit Ltd answered my request for help earlier very quickly, so I'm really chuffed that a dev is prepared to at least try. I'm not sure whether this is something to do with the game or the phone, so will wait and see. Still a pain though. Interestingly, Stair Dismount also plays very well on my ASUS Transformer, which has Tegra 2.
3. Slight worry about the power button. As the Desire had other hardware buttons, I could assign one of those to wake the phone to take the strain off the power button being used so much. Not possible with this phone. I'm hoping it will be ok.
4. The camera lens cover. If it were Gorilla glass, I'd be happy. If it were recessed enough to not be threatened with being scratched every time I put down my phone, it wouldn't be a problem. So, it begs the question: why the hell did they make the lens cover out of simple glass and the rest of the case out of materials seemingly unbreakable in normal use? Very bad design decision.
5. Lack of external memory could become an issue. Yes, 32Gb is pretty huge. But, so are many of the new games, with 200Mb becoming more common. Not to mention the capability of the phone to play HD content. I also rip music for mobile playing as flac or at least 320k mp3. This makes an album anything up to 800+Mb in size. The internal memory won't take much to fill. None of these are really that big a deal for me, so I'm just being picky with this one!
I've heard various mentions of the battery life being poor on the One X. Considering what this phone does, I'm reasonably happy with having comparable performance as I had with the HTC Desire. Generally, with moderate-heavy use, I'm beginning to think about charging late evening after taking it off charge when I get up in the morning. That's fine by me. I carry a Veho Pebble in my car, so can always put the mobile on charge when I'm out anyway.

I think you have it spot on. Luckily I have no issues with my screen and no dust collected anywhere. Using a pouch to keep it nice and safe and it survived a small drop. I don't understand the decision not to make lens from gorilla glass unless its something to do with picture quality. Ordered a flip case as a good work around. I am just debating if I should sell desire or keep as a backup phone

Search for HTC One X Antenna Reception Test at Youtube. I have tried it myself and indeed the signal did dropped. Does that count as design flaw?

Seriously? A 10% dBm drop is, in your mind, a "design flaw?" If you're looking for something to be concerned about the YouTube poster's best performance at 89 dBm is pretty atrocious. Two floors away from my router I get better results on my SGS2. The weaker the signal the more any device will be impacted by obstructions (like bone). You'll see drops and gains like that simply by changing the phone's orientation to the router. As devices get thinner with more and more stuffed in to them antenna placement gets more complicated to avoid interference. That video doesn't concern me a bit (unless 89 dBm is typical Wi-Fi performance).

Had mine for 8 days now, it has no rattle that i've noticed, the screen glitches occasinally in browser, it sense restarts fairly often, battery life imo is decent my stats are typical of others. I had a single occasion where died/crashed, no power button or at least not the usual one press so held it and a small dialogue came up after a while saying 'hold for 2 more seconds to restart' which i did and the fone restarted fine, oh and i've had a single overheat whilst streaming a movie.
I had an early release hero which had some serious bugs which improved dramatically and an early desire s which i found pretty much ironed out from the start.
I'm very happy with my one x overall as any issues it has are teething problems which can be sorted.

Well, I hate this phone. Mine couldn't survive a 12" drop onto a parking lot without severely shattering the display.

Maybe it committed suicide as it no longer loved you.
You should have tried relationship counselling, but now it is too late.

Unrootable means un usable in my eyes. Plus the battery lasts about 6 hours.

Not sure why you can't use it without root, I am. And my battery last all day with 4G.

Absolutely love this phone, and yes, I do sleep next to it . Everyone will have their own opinions, mine personally is this is a great phone. Love the camera, battery time is great (although having 2 batteries help), and finally a usable phone outdoors without having to really focus on the screen(very bright screen is what I mean). I would really love to have root, but I have patience, this nonsense of "no root no phone" kind of irks me but when you're spoiled you're spoiled.

LG G5 more hits than misses
Upgraded a number of family phones to the LG G5. I'm a bit old school and prefer simple flip phones. We would probably still be using Samsung Rugby flip phones if they worked with our carrier.
If you're in the market for a high end phone that's more than shiny, with lots of usable practical features and actually includes the latest available technology, consider the LG G5. We think it definitely has more hits than misses.
1. The 3 Cameras, make the phone one of the best camera substitute
2. Modern CPU (Qualcomm 820, currently top of the line) helps performance, battery efficiency, spectrum / wireless performance.
3. 4GB RAM useful for multitasking and running large demanding software
4. 32GB internal built in storage
5. Expandable storage with Micro SD (sorry Apple)
6. Miracast, industry standard screen sharing
7. IR Blaster
8. USB-C, the modern USB port the industry actually agrees and moving towards
(including devices from Apple, Google, Microsoft, LG, etc).
9. User removable / replaceable battery
10. Modular, and easy repair-ability
11. FM capable - enabled depending on carrier
12. A major phone brand / model thus more available accessories
13. Price point - best value for high end / flagship phone
Cons - what's missing that other devices may offer
1. Water / Dust proof - a nicety, and can be added to the LG G5 via certain cases.
2. Premium Metal / Glass feel - subjective. The LG G5 is all aluminum but covered in a primer paint. Besides, most folks I know use a phone case.
We have a number of mobile lines / phones within our family. Our last few phones have been Samsung, from Samsung flip phones to Android devices Galaxy T989D/S2X, Note 2, Note 3, Note 4. When we were up for replacements, we going to go with Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but it was no longer available, replaced by the Note 5. The Note 5 was more expensive than the Note 4. It was hard to justify paying more for a successor that included less than its predecessor - no Micro SD, no IR, no removable battery. Note 5 excluded usable practical features for a shiny exterior, and wasn't even water proof. We heard new phones were coming March / April 2016 so we waited and eventually decided on the LG G5. We believe it to be the best value, and offered the opportunity to award a vendor trying to innovate.
Ultimately it's just a phone, but at least it has the more important convergence features covered, mainly solid phone features, and solid camera.
** Unrelated, but its thanks to XDA community and other enthusiasts who help keep golden oldies such as the T989/S2X and Note 2 phones kicking. There's several Marshmallow ports for T989 and Note 2

Got a G5 (on AT&T) yesterday as a gift from my work and am coming from a Moto G with custom ROM's galore. The only thing I really miss is forward and back arrows in the nav bar for typing and Chrome Pie. Why pie controls aren't native to Chrome and requires root access is absolutely stupid.
Every other root function I used on my Moto G was to make up for the limitations of the device. No need now. Holy crap this thing is fast as hell and thanks to doze, standby is crazy. The SD 820 is an absolute beast of an SOC. And this is only my first full day on it. Going on a hike later today and can't wait to use the camera on this thing. So far I am very impressed with this phone.

Just received my EU h850 in the mail on Wed, already unlocked and rooted. No build quality issues at all.
Don't know why some are having battery issues. I easily get 24hrs of use with 5+hrs sot
That's with gaming,youtube, browsing,and Bluetooth
The screen uses much less battery than my Sprint g3...and even with custom everything on my g3 this phone performs sooo much better in everyway.
I think carrier branded g5 have a lot of bloat killing battery
Haven't heard a bad thing about unbranded h850 yet

Got mine from O2 in the UK and love my G5... O2 have put no bloatware on it at all and it therefore has good battery life. I have a G4 and the G5 flies compares to it (I loved the G4 too even though it had it's issues!). The only negative point is that getting a good tempered glass screen protector is going to be a nightmare as the screen is clearly quite flexible (hence the corner buckles etc) and so getting one to fit perfectly is going to be a challenge. Having said that, this is a very new phone, and all new3 models have odd issues (software/hardware), so if it becomes a problem then I'll RMA it to O2 or LG and get it swapped.

Hate some of the software tweaks, but this is a damn fine phone.

All in all, this is a pretty good phone. I'm really liking the wide angle lens and the fingerprint sensor. (This is my first phone with a fingerprint sensor)

Same here and agreed... awesome standby time as well... My only issue with it is, I wish the screen and always on display were brighter outside and the overall volume was a bit louder, especially when using your own ringtones, like my G4. When I set up mine.. I didnt bother with the App drawer update, to me.. it was a new phone, new UI so I went for a bit of a change instead of copying my old G4 setup... made me feel like Ide actually bought a new phone.. and im finding it much simpler and enjoyable to use.
I find the UX5 much slicker and faster to use, more responsive and I can fly through tasks, OneNote and OneDrive.. Very Happy with my G5, also the 0.2" screen reduction makes no difference after a day or so

For the ATT G5 is there a way to save pictures/files/videos directly to the memory card or does that require root?

Love it. I'm not crazy about the design but a 2.5$ case makes it look badass.
Camera is outstanding, battery life is good (30 hours with 4 hours SOT , brightness is set to Auto, BT and NFC off).
The phone works fast and doesn't overheat.
I'm happy

Loving my G5 had it a few months now, bought the Spigen Rugged Armor case really nice, snug fit. Great camera, battery life & blazing fast, great screen, fingerprint scanner works amazing its really responsive, i was pretty surprised actually at how well the fingerprint scanner works .... Don't care for root to be honest, only thing i really liked about being able to root my old G2 was having AdAway installed. USB-Type-C is a god send especially in dim light.

I also love the camera and settings provided on the LG G5. My only disappointment might be the capture time when using HDR mode. Aside from this, the video and picture quality is worthy of this benchmark phone, and the wide angle option adds a new enthusiasm for taking your phone with you on the scenic route.

From South Africa here. I have the H850 G5 as well, and no bloatware whatsoever. Battery lasts me a full day under moderate to heavy use (That does not include the camera). The auto-brightness is on point (but gets a little too low in a dark room to make watching videos or gaming comfortable). Battery charges fully in 28min from 1% whilst turned on. It's blazing fast. I have games in the background that I get back to hours later, and the memory never fails. Best phone I've ever owned.

I like almost everything about this phone minus the flimsy quality of the lcd quoting/Glass as its getting scratched very very easily, same is the case with back camera glass/visor.
Unfortunately, i wasn't using any screen protector earlier and i'd tried to clean the screen with a very soft microfiber cloth but to my surprise even that cloth had left some tiny hairline scratches. I couldn't believe my eyes at first but this was the fact sadly
I am not sure now if i can get rid of these scratches as i really love neat and clean phones.

I upgraded from an S3 that had been in service since it's release and had never failed me. It just became a bit dated and the battery was due for replacement. I caught the G5 for $1 at Best Buy so I said what the hell. My first unit didn't last 12 hours before dying. However the replacement is on it's 4th charge/discharge cycle and is seamless. I hope that the first unit was just a fluke because this thing hums. I hadn't even tested any other phones since owning the S3 so the speed and fluidity of the G5 blows me away. I cannot wait for rooting capability to customize it even though the factory setup isn't bad and not as restrictive as others I have dealt with in the past. I am giving it 3 stars for now due to the DOA unit I first received though.

I'm a little late to the party but I have just seen this phone and it looks cool. I have a P9 Lite at the moment and I am not keen on EMUI. I love the look of the mint colour Robin. How is the screen on this thing as I hate washed out IPS screens.
Also important to me is how is development for this phone?

The screen is on par with most LCDs these days, good viewing angles and color saturation. Development is on the rise. At this moment there are a hand full of roms to flash. You should get this phone if you can, as it's still great in 2017.

I've just purchased one from Amazon can't not at £149 new for the spec better than some Umi rubbish in same price range

Its a great phone, and definitley worth the money, but considering your current device it's not much of an upgrade.

I'm considering the purchase of this cool-looking phone as well and I want to ask about the battery life - is it really that terrible that you have to charge your phone more than once a day (as written in some reviews)? And what about the camera - is it really that bad or it's just a normal mobile average?
I am using nexus4 right now and Robin probably won't be my daily driver, I just want it because of the look but obviously I don't want to waste my money on some ****ty device.

I can get through a day without charging with ease. That said. I've never been on stock, I personally didn't like it. Many users complained about performance and battery life on the Stock OS. The camera is pretty 'meh'. Taking pictures can be VERY slow (Use Google Camera or something, Open Camera and the stock camera is supposedly slow) and low light performance is pretty bad. During the day though I can get pretty nice shots, nothing to complain about, it's good just not 'great'.
All this said though, I've mostly been on OmniROM and LOS/LOS based roms as they seem pretty on par in both areas (LOS and LOS based roms have a few kinks to sort out at the moment though). If you're planning on sticking with the Stock ROM and have issues, I 100% recommend OmniROM, it's had a long while to get rid of all the bugs and it's got killer performance and with moderate usage (Including some light gaming) I get around 4.5 hours SOT on a single charge on Omni.

If I leave the house with a 100% charge. I can get through the entire day...but when I'm out...I'm not constantly on my phone. I'm a pretty casual user and I've been pretty happy with the device in the 7 months I've been using the phone. The durability of the phone is the only real questionable thing. The plastic feels pretty thin and the edges are pointy. I can't imagine dropping the phone on its edge onto concrete. I've seen lots of people complain of the phone getting bent from being in your pocket. If you're the type of person that is rough with your stuff...it may not be the best choice....or use a heavy duty case like the Tudia.
Nextbit will also be stopping any kind of warranty in July of 2017. So if you buy your phone now...and something goes wrong...you don't have a warranty after July.

I think at its current price level this phone makes a great backup phone, or if you want to have something for a few months and move on to something better.
The good: it has a rather up to date OS, you get a good processor (808) for around $120, it's light weight and sleek, easy to root and develop on, sleek look, smooth performance with virtually no bloat, supports band 12 (important for t mobile).
The bad: no warranty after July 2017, the online storage space may disappear in 2018 (which was their whole selling point for the phone on the beginning), mediocre camera, very fragile design ( the phone is made entirely of plastic and there is no metal frame inside so forget about putting it in your pocket), no charger in the box, can feel warm at times if you are not careful about background processes and using an ad blocker, mediocre battery life (5 hours on screen surfing).

Great phone. The online storage was dumb and you wont miss it. If you really needed more then 32 gigs would you be looking at this phone at all?
The camera is just ok. Its better then the last phone I had which was a nexus 5.
The phone is good quality. The plastic takes a beating. I put it in my pocket, and run it case free and have for months. Barley a knick on it. Been dropped from waist high on wood floors and tile.
Battery - I stream google music all day at work . If I don't charge I can go about 8 hours with Bluetooth headphones connected. If I use it as a phone for googling here and there I get like a day+ on it. Reading books and wut not, 12 hours.
I run stock, with a personalized launcher, rooted, running substratum for blacking out all the menus and Nougat quick settings to use immersive mode. Runs like a champ, super fast. The warranty thingie sucks, but;at 117 bux, this phone is a steal.
I dare anyone to find a brand new phone with at least an 808 and 32 gigs of storage, with 3g memory for cheaper and better support.

I consider buying the Nextbit Robin for my 13yo son, who killed his S5 Neo (broken Display). I´m afraid he would be forced to stick with stock and no root because of....well.....pokemon go.... so I hope battery life is not THAT bad as complained in some threads.
BUT: The fact that he killed his last phone because he dropped it and the "bending issue" I read in this thread I am pretty unsure about it. My son puts his mobile into his pocket.

Pokemon GO works fine with custom ROMs and root as long as you use magisk

I got one and I love it , it has an amazing camera, great battery life (at least on Resurrection Remix), and is nice because the bootloader is easily unlockable. The only issue I have experienced is the speakers can be a bit distorted at max volume.

The device is one of the best in the low cost range, but not in stock rom, the development of it is very good, there is no shortage of surprising news, and the community grows very fast

From the moment that I purchased this phone, I have not felt any regrets for doing so:
There are a lot of ROMs for the harpia (Moto G4 Play) in XDA, there is a decent amount of internal storage available for plenty of apps (16GB), the processor (Snapdragon 410, Quad Core, 1.2GHz) has never disappointed me with slowness, there is 2GB of RAM which is more than enough for multitasking, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and LTE support, which contributes to very fast cellular speeds. There is as well VoLTE, which I have never had the opportunity to try out, since my carrier does not support it yet.
The only things, that I would have loved to be featured in the device, are the fingerprint sensor, a camera which worked greater under darker conditions, NFC and .. the compass sensor?! (I don't know what was the deal with removing the compass sensor.. Seriosly, Lenovo, why would you do that?)
Overall, I am going to rate the phone with 4/5 stars and would recommend it to everybody who does not mind about the missing features I have mentioned above (I can perfectly live without them, they do not ruin my user-experience the slightest bit).

I just got the phone Yesterday (for $34, which I find to be an amazing deal!), and as kid (14) who had an LG Leon (MetroPCS version with XenonHD mod), and a crap tablet (2 MP rear camera, speakers are VERY QUIET, and take nearly 5 MINUTES to boot) this is a HUGE upgrade to me. I really like the FM Radio, since it really comes in handy whenever I'm out (I have no service on this phone so...). The camera is a little better than the Leon and I'm excited to be using something that has Android Marshmallow (and soon to be Nougat! ), and not Lollipop. I'm still finding stuff about this phone I love (like how many ROMS I can choose from for this phone).

I've been using flagship (mostly Samsung) devices for years. Got this one when my Note 5 got stolen and my spare first gen Moto X had a broken microphone. It actually surprised me quite a lot! I mean it has an LCD screen with a quarter of my last phone resolution, but it looks fine, although not at the moment since I broke the original screen and this newer (I believe fake one) has less brightness and saturation. The camera is good, pretty much the same as the 2013 Moto X. The battery life is insane, even with a custom rom. It's tough, it's durable, and pretty much doesn't need a case to go everyday. It was going to be my temporary phone until the Note 7 arrive, something that we know that it never happened. But I like it. It's not blazingly fast like my other devices, but for normal taks (web browsing, Whatsapp and light 2D games) gets the job done. Altough it's not the best phone I've ever had, it's the one I like the most, and that's because I don't have to baby it like other fragile glass/metal devices. This thing went underwater for two hours and went out turned on and still working, and dropped it in the middle of Times Square the last vacations (had a hard time looking for the battery tho). Yeah, I love it, until I get my hands on the Note 8.
The only thing I hate is the lack of a gyroscope sensor. Seriously, was it necessary? GPS is almost unusable without it. You have to walk to any direction in order to see where you're heading.

I did a lot of research before buying as I wanted something affordable but also with a decent (not great) screen and camera, but most importantly, I checked here to see if the phone had an active development community (a must), which it does!
