Just got Huawei W1 watch, which app to control watch from phone? - Huawei Watch

Hi, i have just got this watch, not really used it yet, i noticed you can download the huawei app on your phone which seems to get really rubbish reviews, so i was wondering do most of you use that appor does the google wear app do the same thing for like all android watches, is that a generic app by google and is it better, or is that for something totally different?
any other tips or advice would be welcome, i have a samsung s6 running android 5.1.1.
regards
James

Congratz on your Huawei watch. Not aware of the many people using that Huawei app. I know I'm not, you should just use the Android Wear app which is a universal for all smart watches.

S Health and Moto 360

Has anyone successfully added Moto 360 to S Health as a device? I use the app on my Note 3 and I want to add to my watch as the device and not phone.
I've tried to pair on an S4 with no luck. I think Samsung has S Health to where it only works with a few devices and Samsung watches...
Google fit is the only one I know of that works with the Moto for health.
Sleep for android works as a sleep tracker.
Give time, it'll eventually have the compatibility or someone will make it have compatibility.
Has anyone found a work around for this yet? I would love to be able to pair my Moto 360 with S-Health.
I would love this!

S Health doesn't share data with Android Wear anyway. The S4 comes with S Health, unless you rooted and deleted it, or you have the S4 GPe. You can try getting it back from the Samsung Apps store, that's where it receives updates from.

[P6] Compatible Wearables and Smartwatches?

Hey guys,
I would like to know if there is any usefull compatibility list of wearables and smartwatches for the P6. I remember that the P6 only has Bluetooth 3.0, but is it possible to use also Bluetooth 4.0 wearables (like Samsung Gear Fit)? Or are there alternatives? I'm kinda new to this wearable stuff, but I want to buy one.

I'd also like to know, since I have a LG G Watch R (awesome device by the way, highly recommend it!) and will be getting an Ascend P6 this week. As far as I'm aware the phone just needs to be running an Android version of 4.3 or higher, bluetooth version shouldn't matter. But I'll let you know if there are any issues!
with moto 360 works great
Did you have to do anything with the p6? It tells me it's incompatible with android 4.2.2...

preset 'vibration pattern' is missing for Huawei Watch

I've bought a Fossil Q-Explorist, which also runs on AW 2
In settings / Sound&News
you'll find "vibration pattern" on this watch
That's missing on my Huawei Watch!
I thought, that Android Wear is always the same at all watches with the same features
can anyone explain this behaviour, or better offer a solution?
This would be really a nice feature, because of the low vibration, especially on the Huawei Watch
The software status looks like the same on both watches!
rg
This wasn't a feature included when 2.0 came out. Watches that have received a new update since July have it. I'm sure when the watch gets its next update it will get it.

Is it worth buying?

I was thinking about buying galaxy watch . Any + and - from ur side ? I heard that tizen dont have fb and messenger . I hope I can still get notifications from those apps right? If I will remap bixby button on note 8 to google assisant . Will it ask using galaxy watch ? Or only bixby builded in watch and nothing else?

I've had the watch for a couple of weeks, and the one thing I am disappointed with is the lack of apps for the Tizen OS. There is really very little available right now. No Facebook, Messenger, etc. However, you can and do get notifications from any of your Android Apps on the Galaxy Watch. For example, if you get a message on FB Messenger, you can read the content on the watch notification, and you can also send a quick reply from the watch itself. Only Bixby is available on the Galaxy Watch, there is no option for using Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

Yep :good:
I am coming from Android Wear OS , which was the LG G watch R. I have used the watch for years until I have decided to move and switch to Galaxy Watch which is on Tizen OS. Now, if you ask me, Android Wear vs Tizen, the ONLY huge difference is the availability of the apps. Yes, HOWEVER, trust me, you don't need that much of apps. Tizen OS has pretty much covered all the essential apps you will need for everyday life. On another note, lesser junkie apps will keep the watch clean.
For a smartwatch, what is important? Notifications and battery life. Tizen got it all. And a bezel rotations is one could die for. I would say, go for Tizen OS, and if you are using Samsung Health, you will benefit most of it with the watch

Good way of browsing watch apps?

This seems like such a basic thing that I'm surprised I need to ask it, but is there a good way of browsing apps for the Galaxy Watch? I have a non-Samsung phone, so I'm installing them through the Galaxy Wearable app on my phone, but the interface is horrid. I select an app category and then see a screen of logos and cut-off app titles. No way to change the list type or sort by anything. Internet searches of good apps reveal the same recycled 20 apps that folks wrote up when it was first released. I can't find an online app store or listing either. Surely there has to be a better way. Any ideas?
Welcome to Samsung tizen OS. The only way to make that better is to switch to Android Wear OS. No one is building apps for the Samsung watch because tizen is horrible and there app store sucks LOL it looks unfinished like most of the apps you'll find there. If you just want watch faces you can use an app called watchmaker in the Android play store.. there are thousands of watch faces that will work on Samsung. Some of them are paid some of them are free. And if you don't like what you find, you can build your own from scratch within the app. Hope this helps

I was afraid of that. The irony is that I just switched from Android Wear (Zen Watch 3) because I couldn't take the laggy, buggy OS anymore. My Galaxy Watch is so zippy and responsive in comparison that it's worth it to be restricted to stock apps for what I use it for. Hopefully Samsung will get around to fixing this critical flaw.
Anyone else have ideas?

I don't think so. Wear OS is a dead OS. You go there, you get very minuscule support. They have had "Tiles" for quite a long time and STILL no one can do anything to add new tiles with their apps. Their app store is no better than Tizen's app store and new apps aren't coming out like hotcakes for their OS either. I find myself only using 5 or 6 practical apps and nothing more. I just sold my Wear OS device last week to get a Galaxy Watch. (I've used the S3 and Gear S before) People always hype up "Wear OS has more apps" yeah, more apps in quantity, but not quality. A lot of Wear OS apps also look half-baked.
Stay with Samsung, they have good support for their OS as a company and even gave us a new refreshed UI and Bixby is also getting a makeover into a true Bixby with One UI 1.5. (Comparing Google Assistant and Bixby are like apples to oranges). Tizen as a smartwatch OS in my experience has had better battery life and capability than Wear OS.
I had Wear OS awhile ago, and it is DOA!
I so much agree with you guys. Just put my Tickwatch pro away, and back to Tizen now, with my Active2.
(If a poor enthusiastic Android user in Holland wants it for free he can pick my Tickwatch up, if near the Hague.)
The user interface Samsung did is just great. The possibility to use the phone app for settings is nice also.
But the appstore.... Brrr. And what happened with the old KLM app?
E.g. I would love to have an app that gives a clearer and more persistent message on my watch when I accidentally leave my phone behind.
On Wear os it shows the "did you forget your phone?" message with clear sound.
Really miss it. I forget my phone all the time.
Huib
I was a bit apprehensive about making the switch from my trusty LG Urbane with WearOS but Tizen is much better designed and smoother than WearOS. The only downside as others have mentioned is the app store which is pants. The range and quality of apps on offer is extremely poor, even from big names such as Uber and BMW whose apps just don't work.
