Fix broken digitizer on allwinner a20 tablet. - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

hello,
i damaged my tablets digitizer, found a suitable in aliexpress. replaced the old one by the one i got from china.
was happy because the tablet is a no name, no brand.
unfortunately the digitizer does not work correctly. it seems to swap x and y coordinates. tried to fix this with canging script.bin file in nanda partition.
ctp section has some parameters which i changed using my linux desktop computer, using bin2fex and fex2bin tools.
putting the file back to nanda partition, it seems to ignore my modifications. no reaction, still the same, x and y coordinates swapped.
do not find any help in dmesg output. using android 4.2.2.
hope someone could help.
best regards, harald.

How do i find out what generation my device is ?

under the battery is also a sticker
it tells you the model and manufacure as well as imei etc etc . the board type IEH20B and such is on that sticker.
or if the device is still usable other then the screen ie will connect and activesync. there's a program called my mobiler or just use the wm power tool activesync display that lets you see and control it frol you pc. and you can look at the details that way to determine the model.
hope this helps.
It's PH20B - so how do i find my board id ?
On the other thread the guys said it should be 0X5 or 0x6. Is there any table where i can pull this out from ?

which thread were you looknig at, as the part number is listed on the sticker as P/N at the bottom of it. which should be unique to that handset
or would be printed on the PCB itself, also LCd's have a sticker usually as well on the back of them that have part nuber as they are never manufactured by the phone manufacture

USB brick on HTC Desire HD the correct thing I'm on about?

I'm looking mainly if someone can point me in the right direction regarding an issue.
My phone I got off a mate doesn't ask me when I plug it in via USB what I want to do. I understand there are settings that I have changed for it to ask me what to do. Charging works fine with phone off and booted.
I have tryed cables that I know are for data as well as power ( checked both computers and with a kindle and gf's cyanagenmod phone both work.)
Some might say my mate tryed to root it. I have asked him and he only did one over the air update. He has no gain from lying as he said he would pay for repair( replace ment of the USB board as I belive the phone has a upper and lower board.) Trying to save money (hes a mate and I'm not going to mess him about.) and a save a repair that might not be needed or even fix the issue.
I have cleaned the port with a small brush and cables have a normal "snug" fit.
Futher to research on forums I think I might have a USB bricked phone. At one point I unmounted my SD card while USB dev mode on and I got " USB not reconized". At this point I unplugged the phone to then install drivers. Drivers did not work. Now you may think broken but my experince says if the connecter was broken that it wouldn't even charge as I belive the outer pins are the power.
When I look up desire hd USB brick online I get only results for desire phones not desire hd. With desire issues seems that the phone needs to be rooted barr one walkthough that's once again geared towards non hd desire.
My points are-
Am I correct to look at this as my phone could be USB bricked or does this issue only affect the desire model of phone. Belive it could be caused by the ota update.
Has anyone else had this issue? If you got the phone fixed did a lower board replacement correct it?
Any links to further reading or solutions would be great help. I feel I'm failing to describe my issue in the correct terms if it is indeed a USB brick.
Cheers for reading this post, 2nd in length only to my life story...

Can you provide more info like what ROM and kernel you're using? Also, do you have a recovery image you could flash?

My understanding im am using "stock" HTC software on my phone and it never has been rooted or had a custom rom installed (yet - fingers crossed ).
This is from "About Phone" then "Software Infomation" in Settings.
Android Version - 2.2.3
Kernel Version -2.6.35.10-gd2564fb

I also think i dont have a recovery, as when I do a boot holding power and volume down and click recovery its loads for a bit and then shows a phone with a red ! next to it.
Just to learn, I am correct from what I have read that the kernel is just like a modern OS kernel for a laptop/desktop. Its the part that makes the software and hardware talk?
When you got the phone, had the phone gone through a data wipe (factory reset)?
...And you've tried using the USB connection via another computer as well?
...And in the settings, under 'Connect to PC' you have 'Ask' checked?
The phone had a factory reset done via android settings menu and when you hold power and vol down.
Checked settings and it says ask.
No dice on another pc double checked the cable with kindle and data transfer was ok.

I also have the same problem with my desire hd.
Trying different roms didn't seem to fix it.
I'm thinking of sending it for repair.
First i want to flash a stockrom, witch seems quite hard if your USB doesn't work.

[Q] HTC One X dead (no light at all)

Hi guys, I have htc one x for over a year now. it was working fine but recently it just gone dead. i haven't done any firmware update or root device etc. i gave it to one repair shop the guy said that it might have memory IC problem and other things (processor, power ic) are fine but memory ic is not available right now. i showed it to another shop but that guy said that its processor is gone dead and there is nothing you can do. i don't know what to do. plz help me, if there is any possible solution for y device??
Thanks,
Since, I'm having the same problem, I'm wondering if there's a reliable way to check, which component exactly is broken. Any ideas?
And secondly: Is there any way to gain access to the internal memory if we assume, that all other components are irrepairably broken?

decryption of encryptet emmc from broken nexus 5x possible?

Hello everyone,
i have the following problem:
After my Nexus 5x got water damaged during my vacation i tried different things to repair the phone. This was not successfull. After that i bought a used Nexus 5x with a broken screen and builded one running phone out of the 2. So the issue of not having a phone was solved
But my problem is that i wanted to recover the pictures and videos from the broken nexus phone. I removed the emmc chip and put this chip in a bga 153 reader. The chip gets recognized by multiple programs and i can see the different partitions. From the information that i have this data is encryptet by default.
Like i have read here hxxps://blog.elcomsoft.com/2017/05/android-encryption-demystified/ there is no solution to decrypt the files with a chip-off.
Can someone give me an answer if there is a possibility to recover the files?
The 4 digit pin is known to me. I dont know if this is useful.
Thanks in advance.

Motherboard change with upgrade to LTE

Hello everyone,
the motherboard of my S4 mini duos (i9192) failed, probably the EMMC, and I need to replace it. Since where I live the 4G/LTE signal is so much better than the 3G and I don't need the dual SIM anymore, I was thinking to buy the i9195 motherboard and substitute it for the original one.
When looking at the components of my phone, I saw two other parts which seem to be related to the 3G version (i9190/2, as written on top of them): the USB connector board and the antenna on the top part of the back housing (the one with "3G" stamped on it), see the figures here.
So I suppose that I should be fine by replacing all three pieces with the i9195 version, also given that they seem to be the only 4G-related pieces in the phone, as per this thread and the video linked therein.
Has anyone tried this? Or, do you have any comment/advice?
Thanks in advance!

it is a gamble I think, it has been reported that even swapping the connector brd for a new one sometimes didn't work with older motherboard, though swapping all 3 it might work for you, but no guarantee. Also then you might have problem loading software & need jtag
But is there much of a price difference to buying a new phone?
Ok, I bought an i9195 used mainboard together with the USB connector board for 30 €, mounted them and flashed the latest Resurrection Remix. The phone is working pretty well (a really big upgrade from my S3 mini) even without changing the middle frame. Actually, what is missing on the middle frame is the 4G antenna, so the 4G is not working at the moment, but for the rest no problems whatsoever.
I'll try to buy the middle frame in the future and report if the 4G starts working, or if the circuitry got fried for the lack of the antenna.
@IronRoo thanks for the suggestion, the main point going for a new phone is the price of one with screen size less than 5" (this is 4.7" and is perfect, bigger ones are uncomfortable to hold for me): the cheapest one is Samsung A3 which is 200 € at the moment. Also, I'm also kinda annoyed by throwing away a phone that could be fixed and given new life.
Strange... My 9192 also fail EMMC some months ago and I also replaced it to 9195 from a local shop. It just 2 case of failing EMMC is seems like a design flaw? Maybe?
Anyways my phone is fine except for battery life I don't get even 1 full hour in performance mood also on RR ROM android 7, and it's my secondary device so I don't use 4G on this device can't report back how good probably I won't even get bit of charge xD
